As someone who always wanted a mk5 golf when I was a teenager, I got the chance to buy my neighbours mk5 golf 1.9tdi with next to no miles. I didn't like how gutless it was but was so nicely built. Did own a mk7 a few years later and loved it and did a few mods to it in my ownership.

I have owned a ton of VWs MK1-MK4, and now my daily MK6 GTI that I have put almost 200k miles on. I have been working on putting a 1.8t in my MK1 and hope to be driving in next summer. Love all my VWs.
It's a Goupil G3. Small electric truck from France. Weighs less than a metric ton empty, can carry 700 kg (1543 lbs), all of 7.5 hp from a tiny forklift motor, 40 kph (25 mph) top speed, 80 - 100 km (50 - 60 miles) range. These kinds of small utility vehicles are very common in Europe and usually used by municipal services. Piaggio has a very similar model, for example. At the VW headquarters, this particular example is probably how janitors, groundskeepers or technicians get around the vast premises. The company has belonged to Polaris since 2011, by the way, which you may have heard of.

I personally own a '95 Volkswagen Golf Variant (wagon) that has been family owned since it was 4 months old. Love driving it and even drove it on vacation to Sweden last year (From the Netherlands)
I've had 3 Golfs (mk1, mk4, mk7). I still own the mk1 and mk7. The mk4 was the most reliable car I've ever seen. I put 400K miles on it in 18 years. The Golf is a great car!

Nolan dude that was sick good for you man sincerely. Driving the autobahn is now on my bucket list
Right now VW is about to quit their workers job guarantees and to close production sites, also black mails the German government for subsidies, because the profit margin became too small and the offset with the Chinese market doesn’t work anymore. Sad story.
*You knoooow it's not the same as it was, as it was, as it was..........*
We miss you James. This should have been your video bruv 😭
Now he’s doing videos about clothing companies. Oh. Cool.
Have you visited the Stiftung AutoMuseum Volkswagen? (See the license plate of the MK4). It's next to the fast food. There is a Golf MK1 special-exhibition right now.
Now do jetta
Keep coming back in my mind to the James Hammond BIG show on Motortrend when they covered VW in Wolfsburg. AWESOME episode!!
27:58 adrenaline dump
Just got a mk8 gti Manual last month. I LOVE IT! Mk5 was my dream car in highschool, never got one, this mk8 is very fast, and comfortable. Love my vw
Do it for Dale!
I have a mk5 GTI just for fun and I love it. 18 years old, 165k miles on it, stage 2. Not a single warning light on and runs better than my newer cars.
Daaaaamn completely forgot about donut
I have owned a ton of VWs MK1-MK4, and now my daily MK6 GTI that I have put almost 200k miles on. I have been working on putting a 1.8t in my MK1 and hope to be driving in next summer. Love all my VWs.
1:46 what is this weird truck
I was about yo comment that
It's a Goupil G3.
I LOVED my MK4 VR6! Had an MK6 too which was good but wished there was a VR6 version available.
A check engine light appeared on my phone while watching this video
I really enjoy these strolls through time. Super excited for your MKV build. GJ on the vid.
Man yall really trying to get James back
Being romanian, living in the World of Golfs, it feels so nostalgic to see all of them in 1 video. So basically here we got all the models of WW Golf driving casual on the roads, even the first models you can easy spot them being daily for some olders or even car enthusiasts
Do all the VW Jetta
Eh, this would be pretty much the same video, except there are fewer interesting special versions of the Jetta.
Finally, you have good cars on your channel )) im waiting for perfect cars like Audi!
So glad donut got to drive a mk5 Pirelli edition , so much more punch then the standard car. I’m glad the Pirelli is getting some recognition
Enjoyed the video. Nolan did a good job presenting the VW Golf. I still think the MKV is the best.
The golf ball striking sound at each transition was golden 👌👌❤ and Nolan is a legend!
When I started watching Donut like YEARS ago I was a Subi guy.... I'm now a full-time Dub guy. I have a mk7 Jetta (not the GLI but the base but manual and was cheap AF) and it's sick.
these vids are always so cool its a good format. each car feels like your peaking into a very specific era of time for each car its fascinating regardless of the specific model
I own by far the most hated golf which is the mk4, and even with that the vw community is so fun and welcoming, atleast here in Puerto Rico. Im preparing to sell it after 3 and some odd years of ownership but i will forever be a VW fan and my next project car is gonna be a mk1 cabrio so im for sure staying in this cool as community.
I personally own a '95 Volkswagen Golf Variant (wagon) that has been family owned since it was 4 months old. Love driving it and even drove it on vacation to Sweden last year (From the Netherlands)
Good old mk4 golf with a PD engine 👌🏻
I've had 3 Golfs (mk1, mk4, mk7). I still own the mk1 and mk7. The mk4 was the most reliable car I've ever seen. I put 400K miles on it in 18 years. The Golf is a great car!
mk4 fan here, honestly the mk4 hatch? not the best, the variant (wagon) of the mk4 is the best version of the golf, but only as the wagon
PLEEEAASE do the EVO!!!
It was 50 years of the lancer when you did your first "I drove every..." video!
I was thinking Max looks kind of unimpressed but then you guys went off road and he lit right up. He's just being genuine in front of the camera, I respect that
Finally more VW content!! Keep it up. Dying to see that Mk5 build.
The Golf Cabrio did in fact sell in the states under the “Eos” nameplate. We never got a GTI, but it was still a golf chassis
