@@techyin326 nah Hondas are still stolen alot. At my work a guy with a Ek coupe got all his tools stolen and was broken into. While another girl with a 9th gen got her whole car stolen and gutted. Hopefully they don't do anything to my brother's car

There are still lots of people driving 8th gen civics in my city I have one which I modified it 2007 Honda Civic EX swapping its 1.8L engine to a K24 and it makes 500 horsepower which I go to the highway and find V8 cars to race
Love how they can agree that all civics are good/ reliable but wow the ranking of the 8th and 9th generations were just filled with negatives in their opinions when they're both great cars for first-timers or those just needing a new ride.
My dear civic was at the bottom, but in my heart it's at the top! I LOVE the dash, it makes me feel a little like I'm driving a space ship, and it has held up really well.
For real!!! It looks solo nice at night... I put all the blue color interior and my exterior is crimson pearl with black wheels and all black accessories it's just the best gen...plus you can fit almost all accessories feom ex, exl, si, etc
Back in Vancouver canada in the late 90's, I bought a rare hatchback 6 speed Civic VX. Didn't know the importance of it because every 3 weeks I would get notes on the windshield to sell the car. And it had MILES, not Km's like in Canada. I "knew" then after I broke the front axle and left it on a side street for recovery. 5 days later when I returned, there were NOTES on the windshield naming prices they would buy it. I said "who buys cars with a broken axle with above market price? Are they insane?" I had no repair money back then as the insurance co said it was my fault so I sold it double to one guy who had the highest bid. He said he didnt care about the axle, he wanted the engine and the transmission.
Have the 2015 9th Gen and refuse to give it up (fam garage has a BMW 330 Ci)… it looks mundane, but it’s my little sleeper cell that blends in with the crowd when I see red and blue lights.
Great one, think you guys found an awesome formula. Obviously folks are asking for the Z, but think this would be just as fun with the Mustang or the Golf.
I have had Peugeots, Ford, Audis, BMW, Mini, 2022 Civic but my 5th generation Civic is still my favourite - handled like a go-kart - I just loved it…..
I had a friend in high school who drove the 2nd gen Civic, so that's where my nostalgia is. Fred was a great car right up until some drunk dude peeled around the corner and smashed into him parked on the street while we watched. Lots of memories driving around in that car.
In similar way I loved my best friend’s GLC (77-78 ) and my te72 Corolla. Never would win any prizes for looks or performance, but great for teenage boys to use and abuse.
Had a 1977 Civic cvcc. Bought it from my parents for $300 in 1987. It would do 70 miles an hour all day long had it to 100 with four adults .Great Car! Long live the blue roller skate.
I've owned over 100 Hondas and I currently drive a 9th gen si. I've said this for years. You can not beat a 99/00 honda Civic or Crv. Some of the most reliable vehicles I've ever owned.
My family used to have a '98 DX civic sedan with a silver color. 5 speed manual, manual everything-manual window cranks, manual door locks, we even hooked up a sirius xm to the cigarette lighter. That thing was a beast. Sold it with 250,537 miles on it due to a broken air conditioning compressor. Seeing that coupe was quite nostalgic.
The 8th gen si actually does have true vtec with shifting cam profiles for intake and exhaust along with VTC. This is only true for the iVTEC k20z3 in the si and the k20a2 in the rsx typeS. The other version of iVTEC in different K series (like k20a3) has only VTC and no shifting cam profiles -like what was mentioned in the video. 8th gen si marks the end of the high revving vtec and should not be overlooked. Crazy fun and quick car for the money.
This is why this video and other donut stuff annoys me they get stuff wrong all the time. It's purely for entertainment. The crossover is around as violent as those 90s ala Integra, civics, prelude screamers of yesteryear. If it was tuned in a certain way the crossover powerdip would be gone.
@Fatmouse25 I had an 08 FA5. Full-Race turbo kit with a 3076r. The tune 100% eliminated the crossover. Prior to the turbo, when it was just I/H/E and a basic tune... Things got rowdy real fast at crossover. At low rpms, it was just a loud grocery getter.
@@Fatmouse25 the did mention that it was from Hondata. Even the most basic of tunes with a flashpro drops the rpm for the VTEC crossover, giving it a smoother feel. Their comments are probably based off this because there is definitely a VTEC kick when it's the stock 5800 rpm engagement. I'm a little butt hurt over the lack of love for the FG in this vid 😞
I'm still driving a 2007 8th gen Civic. Mine was not subject to the belt tensioner bolt breakage recall, but the idler pulley broke off instead. This car WAS subject to the cracked block recall and got the extended engine warranty as result... but the engine block didn't crack until THAT warranty had expired. My son pulled an engine from a CNG Civic at a salvage yard, swapped in the old pistons (higher compression ratio pistons for CNG) and I've put another 30k on the car since then. Now it's FINALLY a good daily driver.
I imagine CNG is basically non-existent at petrol stations, so that would make sense. I remember when I saw someone's video on a car engine that ran on LPG!
Most definitely. All because it's beautiful, it's powerful for its weight and we don't care about comfort since it's not that pricey. For the newest gens, they seem too pricey for what they sell and how uncomfortable they are.
@@Felrock12 They actually rode well if you weren't stupid and modified them with garbage, but we were poor. The suspension was great and by comparison, all modern cars are fast. I think part of the charm was the character of the motor and the induction noises, the crossover, the potential, and the aftermarket. I remember always wondering why Honda refused to compete with everyone else with turbos and looking back I get it way more now. Looking back at the history of a motorcycle manufacturers doing everything by themselves and the cars made so much sense in their evolution especially outside of America. Where there were the Cosworths and Yamahas lending their expertise in cylinder head design Honda was doing the same on their own. Cable clutch aside, I'd probably toss the EF in as the trinity. Civic lost me in 06+. I think it was just lacking much character with the non-ergonomic mouse shape. What I dislike about them also was that they felt larger while having less space inside somehow. The competition also plays a huge role and if you compare the experience of a Civic in the 90s to a Cavalier or a Neon of the same time period the difference was staggering. I think the 90s Sentra SE-R actually stood up pretty well and the SR20 was a nice torquey experience. MKIII VR6 maybe? I'm still interested in picking one up after I finish the current build.
@@jinxtacy that SE-R interior was plainer than a Neon, and the car's most obvious weakness. But that powertrain was great--a viscous LSD?? Honda had to catch up with the 6th gen Si, what Nissan put in 6 years earlier!
@@deancoronado4898 I think a lot of 90s interiors being plain is something I kind of like about them. They seem to hold up better if the plastics don't get too brittle or dashes crack. I think Honda was a bit better with their plastic choices, Toyota was good, and Mazda was very poor in the plastics they used. Then again I think it almost got worse in the 2000s. Personally I dislike "soft touch" quality that journalist rave about after sitting in more than enough aged BMWs and VWs to just see what a mess they turn into in under 100k. Just my preference though. I don't remember too much about an LSD. I just remember it being a torquey experience that seemed to fair well against the Hondas of the day with less HP. You really had to be getting after it to really notice the lack of an LSD at
I've driven my 6th gen everyday for almost 17 years. A few years ago I started getting compliments on it. A kid I worked with called that a "classic japanese sports car." I love my car. And apparently, so does everybody else lol 😁👍
i drive a base '04 RSX and over the past few years I have started to get more attention towards it too. Our cars are getting to the age where they are becoming a bit more iconic 😅
I'm surprised that they ranked the 8th generation so low. The K20 motor is such a peppy gem. After owning a 7th gen 2003 Si from 2005-12, then trading that in for a 8th gen 2008 Si sedan that i"ve owned for over 10 years and only 124k miles, I actually opted to treat it to some love & restoration work (like repainting the whole body and repairing everything) instead of trading it in for a newer car and another car payment. I figure that I could either drive it another 10 years or sell it later.
Shocked me too. I wonder if they had sedan they might’ve enjoyed it more. I think it looks better and is more comfortable than the coupe 8th gen. Loving mine. needs paint too though. It’s a great car. Even had someone offer to buy it just yesterday.
This made me feel some nostalgia for my ‘94 Milano red EJ1. Some days I miss that car. It was good on gas. Parts were cheap. The motors in those cars could take a beating and just keep running.
My second car (first "modern" car) was a 2000 LX...god damn are those great little cars, they just go on forever and ever, still handled like a saint until the very end (sold to someone who didn't deserve it lol).
Driving around my home town in Poland in the 90s, in a black gen4 civic hatchback was just next level fun. The low seats, the sunroof, the stiff stirring. 30 years or so later, my mates still remember it, and I'll never forget either.
i had an $800 beater Ek sedan a few years ago, It really made me understand the Honda love. I beat the piss outta that thing for years and it never faltered. very easy to work on, just need a, 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16mm socket for damn near everything on it. Parts are essentially free (for real, parts for my rc car cost more) Had 230k plus on it when I got it. ended up parting er out (every body panel was f'd up, no way I was gonna try to restore and no one would offer more than 500 to buy) and made about 1500. I was also able to buy a whole set of nice snow tires for $150 bucks on rims. That is the quintessential definition of cheap reliable transportation. that said highway driving in a place like SLC where traffic does 80 was terrifying, but as a city pizza delivery car, NOTHING better!
@@ChrisTrunek I'm thinking about while daily commuting on a fairly busy three lane/controlled access highway, or on mostly empty rural roads (more backroads than highways). 😁😅
I had a 6th gen 98 DX hatchback. It only had 113hp (or 116hp?) and everything was manual even the windows cranks. But it was the best car I ever had. For 12 years, the only repair I did was a power steering hose replacement. The rest was just regular maintenance. The fact that it was my first car gifted from my late mom and dad, made that car even more special.
As someone who owns a 6th gen Civic, albeit being a sedan and an automatic transmission, I can confirm that it is the best civic ever. I’ve driven it as soon as I got my student’s permit last year and the car feels so good. The handling, the comfort, it’s just so good. It’s also a car that’s been with my family before I was even born. My dad used to drive it and now I am the one drivinng it. I will also cry if I lost my Civic. I love it so much. Every time I drive it, I grow closer and closer to it.
Wow guys, thanks for getting this basically right. Having owned 50+ 4/5/6 gen civics, as much as I love the EG the EK(but get a HB) is just a better and unfortunately heavier car. New FK8 owners have a hard time admitting the old cars are better. Next you can go down the rabbit hole of modded 5/6 gen civics, B swaps, K swaps, AWD, turbo... The key to keeping it good is some level of comfortable and daily driveability, that's also the 6 gen edge over the 5th, it's solid and quieter.
@@brandonr2188 I would buy busted cars, swap in a b series then set free. My current 6th gen Civic race project was free to me, built with leftover parts for next to nothing. Quicker than a FK8, lol.
@@beans4269 I can’t find rust free 4/5 gens worthy of swapping, so I’m no longer building and selling these. I still have 2 keeper hatches and a coupe, spare b series engines and tons of nos and used parts.
I wonder, how the list would have turned out with the Euro and JDM models included. The FD2 and FN2 are way different. The 9th Gen FK2 Type R might have also changed the list quite a bit. I know, they are Not available in the US, but it would have been interesting to see.
@@scoletheone5503 the ep3 europe is better, but fn2 was trash. The civic si fg2 slots between fd2 and fn2, fa5 exist for body conversion. Theres lsd and independent rear for the civic in the video unlike the fn2 it would had been at the bottom, its the same engine as fn2 but better in every way which wasn't talked about. Fk2 would had been up there fighting the new twins.
This! The American version of the 8th gen Civic looks so bad. Where I consider the European one, the best looking one, especially in its Type R variant. Seriously, when it came out it looked like nothing else with its interior and exterior looking as if it came out of a scifi movie. Is still want one of those. The Japanese version looks pretty good too.
The disparity in the model year versus the intro year of each generation is definitely confusing....the model years were sometimes vastly different....that said, imo, the 3rd generation was truly a profoundly groundbreaking if not a landmark vehicle design. The engineering and design set a standard for the industry for years. It was unique, well-built, beautifully engineered, roomy, quick, efficient, and everything worked together in perfect harmony.
My grandfather bought a first gen when it came out. One of my absolute favorite cars of all time. Riding around with him in the 70's felt like we were something special. There was no other one on the road. By the 80's though, they were everywhere; first gens included. Oh.. and that smell? Yeah. Had a VERY distinct 70's car smell. Smelled like plastic, gas, metal and my grandfather, but mixed up as a good cologne.
The coupe of that gen could pass for a twin of the Mitsubishi Mirage coupe. My cousin got an '01 and proudly parked it next to my 5th gen coupe. I just shook my head. But wait, it gets worse! The hatchback of that gen unfortunately resembled a high-top sneaker. 😂
I owned a 77 Civic hatchback. It was an awesome car for the city. Plenty of pep at low speeds, maneuverable, and was so short it made finding parking spots a breeze. Excellent gas mileage. With the rear seat down had pretty good storage capacity. With rear seat up, rear passengers has decent room. And it was great in the snow. Downside was the lack off a 5th gear. Got very loud on the highway at 70mph.

Several years ago I got a 98' manual. I had never regretted any of my cars sold but that Civic. I had never felt the greatness and joy to drive again, been looking for another but hard to find. This video brought me a big smile
Great video! I’ve own a 5th EX, 6th EX, 7th EX, 9th LX and 2020 10th Sport now, sadly none of them SI ones but I have love my civics. Fun and reliable little cars and easy to work on.
Proud to hear that you guys rated the EM1 first. I was fortunate enough to learn stick back in 07 on a 98 Civic DX hatch. It changed the course of my life. I was an aimless, depressed kid until I found myself ripping through gears, redlining every shift pushing my tires to the limit every night. Not only did it change my hobbies, but I got into logistics as a result. From there, I went on to building cars, and now I’m in logistics in the plant building the cars we make. It literally changed my career too. I owe who I am to the EM1.
I learned to drive stick a couple years ago in an '00 Sedan. I still think about it, and I miss that car dearly. We had to sell it because we just didn't have the room for it.
Can't believe yall did the ep3 so dirty ... And would've loved to know what your guys thought on the Fn2 type R would be .. the last naturally aspirated type R
That poor ep3, they are such fun cars! I currently have an Fn2 and absolutely love it, really would have liked to see their thoughts. The Fn2 is a completely different car when compared to the U.S. 8th gen, so it’s not a fair comparison…
I think its because the EP type r and the 8th and 9th gen hatches were never sold in the US. The us had to live with the ugly Sedans and Coupes without any Type R.
@@4.6_boat I understand that .. but can't just ignore it .. maybe then state in the title "every civic in the us " didnt you guys get the fk2 as well ?

Shoutout to the guys for keeping the 8/9th gen Si hidden gems. They really are the perfect blend of classic and modern Honda. Lightweight, LSD, K series, extremely neutral chassis balance.
@@3shottzz yea it's insane not too long ago a Honda dealership in my area had a blue 2015 SI with 60k miles for 22k I wanted it but I just couldn't get past that price
I have owned a 1980, an '88, a '91 and a '98 Civic. The first two were sticks and crazy fun to drive. The thing I love the most about Honda is the evolution of their engineering. As you line up these cars side by side by generation and look under the hood, you can see a steady progression over the years as they improved their design. You don't see that in other cars. You may not find any resemblance from one generation to the next because they scap the old design and keep starting over. Honda understands how to keep what works and keep building on that till you have a beautifully refined machine.
I had a 13 civic and I drove that thing hard asf everyday for 8 years, put 130k miles on it and i only ever changed the oil, brakes, and I changed the shocks once. It was a ton of fun!
Facts bro, they picked the 2012 which is possibly the worst one interior wise especially out of all the 9th gen Si’s (not that it’s a bad car at all tho but 2014-15 is where it’s at)
CRX and the EF models are top of all Hondas for me since they kicked off a movement. Those are the cars that brought fun to people who never could afford it before. Their performance based on pure engineering without the use of technology to cover design flaws was something special.
I had an 8th gen 07 si sedan and it's one of the best vehicles I've owned. Agile and fast for a 4 banger easy to work on I mean all the potential was there. Also felt rare to see another one in my area made it feel even more special
Same here I've had about ten cars in my life and my 07 SI is the best car of them all. It's definitely a cherry on top that you don't see them everywhere
I've had mine for 12 years and I still absolutely love that car. Full bolt one with a vitune and the car just runs like a clock. Basic maintenance and that's it. You literally can't kill it. Just gotta keep the rust away. Lol
As the former owner of a 1990 CRX Si (eventually swapped a DOHC ZC engine into it) the 4th gen Civic platform was the pinnacle for me. Everything after got increasingly heavier and more ponderous IMO. And BTW it was the 4th gens where engine swapping really became a thing not the 5th. And the reason for that is obvious when you look at your CRX Si-R. It was the oldest gen that you could bolt a vTec engine into. It was the last generation you could get the smaller and lighter CRX platform. It was among the easiest car to bolt different engines into. My ZC engine didn't require any modification, it literally bolted in and connected the transmission I already had. A B16 was a little more complex but it didn't require any cutting or welding to make it fit. And even a B18 was possible. In fact it was a B18 swapped second gen CRX that was the first front wheel drive car to crack then 9 second quarter mile. I deeply regret having to sell my CRX and have been looking for one that wasn't beat to crap or massively overpriced ever since. The only thing it didn't have that I would miss now is cruise control for long drives on the interstate. Of course at my age I wouldn't use it for long trips anyway and would probably put it on a trailer and tow it where I wanted it with my truck.
8th and 9th are by far their sleekest looking Civics ( 9th gen. 2 door that is). The brand new Civic is blandiose, and the one before that is hideous to look at from any angle.
Tbh I think the 8th gen si is the one of the best out the bunch lol. Double wishbone rear and McPherson front suspension comes with a LSD and with just basic bolt on's intake/header/exhaust you can make 220whp with a tune. Also the chassis is a well known chassis to be very good on the track.
@@tamiwu0346 Those are the basemodel's you're seeing though. 8th gen si is literally the last civic ever made with real VTEC 2 cam profile VTEC on the exhaust and intake side. Also you can make them redline at 9000 with Hondata on stock rods 😂
@@rock-uu7qr Lame to people who haven't driven a 8th gen si I guess lol. I've driven a lot of civics of all generations 8th gen si was one of the best handling and the fastest out of them all. In 2006, the 8th gen, the coupe was never available in Japan so it's actually kind of a gem in that way. It has no traction control and was one of the coolest cars available anywhere near that price, also it only came in a coupe that year, and it's the first Si with an LSD, (an upgrade over the 07 RSX type S)

I had a first gen ‘76 “sedan” (not the hatchback) as the example driven and I freaking loved that car - fun as hell to drive. Also an ‘84 1500S, white over silver which was a sophisticated little car for its time with a very willing drivetrain.
I drove an old '77 Honda Civic in my early college days in the 90s & it was so much fun! Yeah, you had to turn on the heat in the summer when you went up a long hill to keep it from overheating & yeah, the top gear of the four-speed manual sounded like a wound up sewing machine on the interstate, but I haven't had a car since with so much personality. :)
Brought back my Gen x memories- we were the first Honda family in the block in the mid 70s- Civic then Accord… the little civic was put through hell and back between my 5 siblings and I- and it survived with insane gas mileage for that era- like 40mpg if I recall… thx for the fun video!
EP3 is like the worst Civic. The K20A3 is ass with fake VTEC and the suspension geometry is horrendous. They call it a mini-odyssey but that’s being too nice since the first gen odysseys had true VTEC and double-wishbone suspension.
@@Gerarghini EP3 comes with a K20a2, VTEC on both cams and VVT on the intake cam, suspension is independent double wishbone, far from horrendous. It's clear youve never driven an EP3 type R

My favourite is the CRX. Second the 5th gen. After that I got too old to care. I appreciate your effort to locate all the generations together, well done.
The 2012 and 2013 models of the 9th gens are unimpressive...however Honda rectified a lot of the issues on the 2014 and 2015 and almost made the last years of the 9th gens seem like a different car
the rear sway kept getting stiffer from year to year. Getting rid of the body roll was most of my complaint. also anybody that hasn't ripped out their clutch delay valve hasn't truly experienced this car as it should
I’ve got a 2012 si coupe, and I love it, but I will agree that the interior is a bit lacking. Before that one I had a 08 si coupe, which I loved. But I couldn’t say no to a 1 owner si with 72,000 miles for under 11,000. So here we are

I've owned 6 as well and couldn't pinpoint which I liked the most, they all had something that was unique and charming. 85 Sedan - Just loved the boxy look 93 LX Sedan - Loved how reliable it was with the D15B7 98 Hx Coupe - Great gas mileage and (imo) the best body styling of all Civics 01 Hybrid Sedan - OK, this one sucked. Was great for parting out after the CVT belt exploded. Good Gas mileage I guess, but IMA batt sucked and dangerous car when that battery was bad. 04 Si Hatch - The most unique, imo. Fun car with good power, awesome shift knob placement, very useable hatch, reliable engine (250k on my daily driver) and has the most cup holders of any Civic I've driven (4) which is odd, because its a damn coupe. Only major downside is suspension is bleh. Poor handling in rain/snow compared to early Civics. 07 Hybrid Sedan - Ok. This one sucked as well, but the same gen Si Sedan looks pretty sick. More comfortable than the other Civics I owned, but yet again, IMA system blows and super dangerous car to drive when the IMA battery is bad. Got much better mileage from my 93 and 98 Civics without the quirks. My favorite thing is that all these Civic's made it past 200k miles easy and, aside from the Hybrids, were low maintenance, cheap to fix and reliable.

Are they insane?"
I had no repair money back then as the insurance co said it was my fault so I sold it double to one guy who had the highest bid. He said he didnt care about the axle, he wanted the engine and the transmission.

Love it! Cherish your time together as a great team! Your on screen display at the end listed 9th gen twice - 10th gen got disrespected!
Crazy fun and quick car for the money.
its also the cloest the si ever got to the type r of the same generation in performance
@@Ephem13 yeah I'm near bone stock when is running healthy is apparent.
That's just bad luck, there's a 2006 Civic with over a million miles on it
Sad the 8th gen got heavily overlooked simply by the appearance.

Personally I dislike "soft touch" quality that journalist rave about after sitting in more than enough aged BMWs and VWs to just see what a mess they turn into in under 100k.

50+? 😂 why?

Proud owner of a 7th Gen here. I have the most basic trim possible and would love to get an EP3 one day but like you said, they are mysteriously rare.
They look cool
The ep3 isn't rare in Europe probably one of the most recognisable civics
@@leonbowers500 and the EUDM EP3 is better than USDM. We had the type R with the K20A2, US had the K20A3. Then, yanno...Japan had the WAY better one
Thank you guys for doing your Civic duty.
⬆️⬆️⬆️ congratulations
You won🎁.
Nothing makes my late grandma prouder than her "cute, cheap, reliable, good on gas!" car to get to church and bingo is actually a sport car.
As a Civic connoisseur this video is beautiful and I think you nailed the mono list rankings. Loved all of this
I had a 13 civic and I drove that thing hard asf everyday for 8 years, put 130k miles on it and i only ever changed the oil, brakes, and I changed the shocks once. It was a ton of fun!
The 9th gen Civic got a great refresh that you guys should've tested, they improved the car a lot with that refresh.
Facts bro, they picked the 2012 which is possibly the worst one interior wise especially out of all the 9th gen Si’s (not that it’s a bad car at all tho but 2014-15 is where it’s at)
@@gabegz7 They picked the worst 9th gen and didn't even review the coupe model and they put it on the bottom of the list lmfao
I'm just about to buy one today and can't wait to modify it
@@MyNameIsCorey
The 8th generation was the first time I really thought Honda really tried with their design language. It still looks nice!
The European 8th gen is still a good looking sporty car, no idea why it wasn't released in USA. The R Types are still ripping shit up.
8th and 9th are by far their sleekest looking Civics ( 9th gen. 2 door that is). The brand new Civic is blandiose, and the one before that is hideous to look at from any angle.
@@markanthony3275my 9th gen sedan feels insulted
sedan looks better tho
@@bravepills got one too, it's so underrated
Tbh I think the 8th gen si is the one of the best out the bunch lol. Double wishbone rear and McPherson front suspension comes with a LSD and with just basic bolt on's intake/header/exhaust you can make 220whp with a tune. Also the chassis is a well known chassis to be very good on the track.
Not to mention the 8k redline of the k20
8ths are lame
sure, but it looks kinda meh, you see like a million of them on the way to work and back…
@@tamiwu0346 Those are the basemodel's you're seeing though.
Also the easiest to make power on next to the RSX type S with the K20A2. Only issue with the type S is it doesn't have an LSD
These aren’t true Honda men, just look how they shit talked the 8th gen or even some of the older models. The 8th gen is the last true vtec of its kind. No appreciation what so ever. They don’t know shit
it has traction control wtf i own one 🤨
@@trentonminter3131 in 2006 they only released the Coupe and it didn't have traction control standard, when the sedan came out in 2007 model year, it got traction control so it could be that.
I’m glad y’all ranked my generation of civic last 🤙🏻
Yea I own a 9th Gen as well, not even an Si…..it’s a LX. I haven’t even driven the others and I know it’s the worst one of them all.
I had a '14 si coupe, absolutely loved it.
They definitely missed it with that generations styling
Same!!!
My 9th gen is great it's a great fun car but why last?
Of course me finding out that Donut Media is not just a thing on Forza Horizon 5 would be you guys driving Civics! My first car is a 99 Civic CX Hatchback, bought it 10 years ago with maybe 42,000km (approx. 26,100 miles) on it, and it now has around 180,000km on it (111,850 miles). Only car I've ever had, still stock outside of the lifter struts, light bulb replacements, engine belt, and oil pan. Happy to see you ranked its sister so highly!
Seeing Nolan road rage is so wholesome, knowing that he is a gentle soul
Love Justin just chilling in the back along for the ride randomly waving at the chase car.
I had a first gen ‘76 “sedan” (not the hatchback) as the example driven and I freaking loved that car - fun as hell to drive. Also an ‘84 1500S, white over silver which was a sophisticated little car for its time with a very willing drivetrain.
Civic 1993 Si 3Door still better btw.
Very impressive, can't wait to see you drive every honda civic! Especially considering that 133,000 honda civics were sold in the US alone in 2022!
This was not the video I thought it would be but great nonetheless
Love it. I had a 91 CIVIC back in college with a 4-speed manual, this brought back plenty of memories. Keep up the good work!
I enjoyed mine so much as a youngster I decided to hold on to it...23 years and counting.
Can we also get an episode comparing all the GTIs?😂
This format works perfectly with the 3/5-series, great video guys
Love your videos
They should do it with a specific size of car. So they start off early 7 series and end up with a modern 1 series

i love ur vids mate
The Civic is the only FWD car that I have on my list of dream cars to own. This is such a great video. I kind of like the 9th Gen, though.
1:45 "it's a old car jackass" lol me everyday with my rust bucket.
You serious? 😂
My first civic was a use 2002 dx. It had rolled up windows, but it was fun to drive. Now I have 2012, and I think you underrated it.
Brought back my Gen x memories- we were the first Honda family in the block in the mid 70s- Civic then Accord… the little civic was put through hell and back between my 5 siblings and I- and it survived with insane gas mileage for that era- like 40mpg if I recall… thx for the fun video!
This was a great episode w such an iconic car ❤ Effort in these videos is so commendable! Great work dudes.
I would have put EF on top. Nothing beats that dash! Also, most engine space, easy to work on, great mpg. Problem is finding one unmolested
Yeah I think if you had the chance to drive a stock ep3 around yourselves you'd have absolutely put it higher up the list
Honestly, same with a face lift 9th gen.
definitely, the ep3 is so extremely underrated just because of the way it looks, thing absolutely rips, especially the jdm version with the lsd
@@factoryrider9537 Yeah the EP3 Type R, but that was never sold in the US. the Si has macpherson strut suspension and a k20a3.
Man the EG and EF will forever be my favorite civic chassis with the EM1 following closely.
My first drive in my best friend’s cousin’s 91 si. Gutted, bored, tuned, headers/exhaust, and an intake is what made me love Hondas forever. VTEC BWAAAAHHHH PAPAPAPAPAPA BWAAAAAHHHHH
Even now at the age of 43, I still remember being 17, driving my 5.0 fox body notchback while the high school parking lot was full of EG's and EK's . Even THEN,I thought to myself, "Those cars aren't bad." 👍👍👍
I like that they have an appreciation for the iconicity of the cars and didn't just base it off of performance
It would be too unfair. 55hp vs. 315hp lol :)
11:23 Hey not James jr and not Nolan Jr had me laughing 😆 😂 🤣. Donut media class banter
man that SI Coupe is my favourite one cause of how beautiful it is and its even in my favourite game
8th gen sedan looks much better in my opinion. I wish they reviewed one of those instead of a coupe I think they would've put it higher. Loved the video :)
Sedan looks way better than coupe. I love my FD2.
My favourite is the CRX. Second the 5th gen. After that I got too old to care. I appreciate your effort to locate all the generations together, well done.
I agree.
1. CRX
2. EG
3. EJ/EK
4. 3rd gen
Man all the integra and Civics back in high school was epic. Next thing you know the srt4 came around and that quick became the new civic lol
The 2012 and 2013 models of the 9th gens are unimpressive...however Honda rectified a lot of the issues on the 2014 and 2015 and almost made the last years of the 9th gens seem like a different car
Wholeheartedly agree. Love the facelift
-sent from my 2014 coupe si while on lunch break 😅
100 percent agree! They should’ve reviewed the 2014-2015 Si instead
the rear sway kept getting stiffer from year to year.
So here we are
I have a headswapped 9th gen and let me telll you it makes a huge difference in fun. It’s the perfect civic in my eyes. Both Vtec lobes and a beautiful dash and seats. Why not!
Well done. I agree with this ranking.
And I think you've started something. You could do this with so many car models out there you'd be busy doing it for a while and I'd be watching every bit of it.
Tbh the 3rd gen is the most underrated civic among them all
it was my first car and I miss that thing so much. I need to get another one for sure! I love the look of them especially with the correct roof rack on top, and you cant find a car with better visibility inside either haha. currently have a fiesta st but still miss my 91 hatch civic

I’ve owned 6 civics over the years and by far my favorite was the eg6. Good job guys - great video as always!
I've owned 6 as well and couldn't pinpoint which I liked the most, they all had something that was unique and charming.
85 Sedan - Just loved the boxy look
93 LX Sedan - Loved how reliable it was with the D15B7
98 Hx Coupe - Great gas mileage and (imo) the best body styling of all Civics
01 Hybrid Sedan - OK, this one sucked.
