to prevent the hemi thick i use the MoS2 additive in the engine oil, the issue comes on long idle because of a low oil pressure. the additive creates a slippery film and should prevent the issue. Till now no problems (175000km-103000miles +/-)

The mds issues for me were very minor, my trans started doing a weird vibration around 45mph so I got it rebuilt & it was just one of those things where I didn’t really need the truck asap so I decided to rebuild the engine as preventative maintenance. Hi autoshop It never ceases to amaze me how Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/ Ram owners say a lot negative stuff about their vehicles but you are a classic example of very good maintenance can make all these Mopars go over 200k miles with very minor or no issues. Mercedes, and most European makes and as well as Ford and GM, have much worse issues than Mopar, yet Mopar gets ragged on all the time but from what I see, at the place i live in Southern Ontario, Canada, and this is an area where they use a lot of salt during the winters, the most common 10 years or older vehicles are, Toyota, Honda and Mopar and Mazda comes in a close 4th. I rarely see 10 year old GM'S, except their pick up trucks and the Impala, Lucerne, Lesabre and Park Avenues; On the Ford side, I see their F series pick up trucks, The Lincoln Town Car, Crown Vic and Grand Marquis and last but not least, the Mustang. All other GM'S and Fords that are over 10 years old are barely in existence today!

Had a couple small issues under warranty- now just had a ABS module issue that was hard to find a part but got that fixed. I live this truck, and it is still a nice beast
I’m looking at a 2013 Tradesman Crew 4x4 with the Hemi. $13k, 181k miles. I’m not mechanically inclined (I can change oil, fluids, etc.). Is this thing going to be a maintenance nightmare for me? Dodge/Ram soured me a long time ago when my 97 1500 crapped its transmission 400 miles from home with my 6month old in a car seat with us.
Honestly I would just service all the fluids, for me the biggest hemi “issue for maintenance is spark plugs & valve covers.
