+Fact Free, could you do a video on who was the first clone in the clone army, also I have a question was there ever a droid that reached an A.I level of sentience?
I liked legends explanation better. Clones were hardened, emotionless, perfect soldiers brainwashed to believe everything the Republic said or did. That way it is a lot less convenient and more impactful when a clone deliberately disobeys a direct Republic-wide order. If Rex(or other clones) knew about the Order but instead, say, grew to love and appreciate Ahsoka/other jedi, then he would understand how corrupt the Republic truly is, and not comply with the Order, instead of just being like "oh well the chip malfunctions or something". I don't know, I appreciate that arc a lot more.
Jacey521 I think you’re grossly simplifying and underplaying the canon arc of order 66 in favor of your bias towards the legends explanation. Not to mention that there is quite a bit of overlap between the two. However I do understand where you’re coming from. I think you can argue for the emotional impact of the clone betrayal in either. But the fact that in legends the clones truly didn’t have high (or any) respect for their Jedi generals and only a handful of the commanders and captains who were close to their Jedi counterparts grew attached is very interesting. I think you can argue that clones with much love and respect for their Jedi comrades being forced into betraying them is just as emotionally investing, and this is coming from someone who first read about the legends explanations and loved it. Plus it makes perfect sense. The emperor would want air tight compliance and obedience from the clones and as little chance for mutiny as possible. Can’t just trust all your clones on a grand scale at near 100% success rate to turn on their commanders and generals whom they fought alongside for years and many battles on the mere basis of ideology and chain of command. The chips make a lot of sense and goes back to attack of the clones if you listen to what the kaminoans are saying about their development.
@@Skikyro before the clone wars show the only named soldier was Cody(afaik). The feeling was the Jedi cared more about ending the insurrection, killing Dooku, more then the lives of their troops. Before the show, clones were not significant at all, just perfectly brainwashed killing machines with no individuality or personality. I think you are thinking about this from the shows perspective, rather then how it originally was.
Just realized that Kix is basically the Captain America of the Star Wars galaxy. Technically they would’ve been MIA due to orders given by Yoda. They wouldn’t have received an overruling order following the order given by a Grand Master of the Jedi.
carlos conde I remember there being a mod like that, but sadly it will most likely never be. There was a comic series that followed delta squad after they left that wookie planet (Don't know how to spell it) but it got canned when lucas arts went downhill, and they still technically have the license, so that also really can't continue.
I actually like watching this video after season 7 of clone wars shows us what actually happened with Rex, he didn’t remove his after, but rather kinda during it. The most confusing and troubling moments for him. It’s somethin that shook him to the core. No, amount of training could’ve prepared him for that!
I love it when people talk about Karen Traviss' Republic Commando/Imperial Commando book series, it is one of my absolute favorites and I wish Disney would pay their respects to this series and its writer. Karen Traviss has built a huge understanding and layers of respect for the Mandalorians, which deserve to be seen as more than just the Death Watch or the Sith's long-time bitch...to put it lightly. I love Mandalorian lore and she created a language to give us even more for Manda-lore...haha, see what I did there? Anyways thank you as always, loved the vid!
why? the lore was perfect, hell it even followed the basic happy to tragedy that all star wars has followed since the beginning...it just needed more time for a solid wrap up. plus the Legacy of the Force 9 book series that had Karen as one of the three writers, this series used part of the commandos series by making Boba fett search for a deceleration cure for his being a clone. I think the Null-ARC Ordo had found the cure...can't remember. so...yeah. sorry for the rant
Null arc Jaing found the cure i think. But ya she was fired because she was making it her own story and lucas didn't like the way she was going with it.
Imagine if they all removed the chips Palpatine: execute order 66 Clones: shoot anakin Palpatine: wait what Clones: WE HAVE COME TO ROB YOU OF YOUR LIFE AHOLE
Jacob Bailey they later were put into a group that darth vador ordered and were paired up with another group with remained of them that was similar to delta squad, but I can't remember their names. Their main missions were to kill the last remaining jedi and clones that betrayed the empire. It had its own comic, but since lucas games had the right to the series, and still technically do, even after being disbanded, the comic couldn't be continued, and with that, sev is sadly never to be seen, dubbed M.I.A.
+CommanderM117 they traded one slaver for another. what loyalty did they owe an organization that manufactured and conscripted children to fight their civil war that the people didn't support enough to fight themselves? the republic was no better than the empire even if it was democratic. the only sad thing that came of it is that they didn't kill the sith along with the jedi.
Now that season 7 of the clone wars is out, we now know that Rex didn’t disobey order 66 Edit: And then ahsoka removed his chip Edit: Ahsoka removed the chip after order 66
Rex tried to disobey the order though, so what he said was true. He led Ahsoka down the right path in order to help him escape from his inhibitor chip.

@woollimy People say that, but it really wasn't. It had it's bad moments sure, but it had been running for decades at the point it was wiped. Give the new canon some time and the same will happen.
Robert Gornick Exactly. The whole “it was too much of a mess” excuse has been brought forward by Disney, nothing more

But then the Empire collapsed and another Republic took it's place, but now their having trouble with a wannabe Empire called the First Order, who blew up an entire system.

Kris Priestley It's too bad that she decided not to finish the series.
she didn't just stop making them, she was fired from writing the books,
why? the lore was perfect, hell it even followed the basic happy to tragedy that all star wars has followed since the beginning...it just needed more time for a solid wrap up. plus the Legacy of the Force 9 book series that had Karen as one of the three writers, this series used part of the commandos series by making Boba fett search for a deceleration cure for his being a clone. I think the Null-ARC Ordo had found the cure...can't remember. so...yeah. sorry for the rant
Null arc Jaing found the cure i think. But ya she was fired because she was making it her own story and lucas didn't like the way she was going with it.
If you guys want to see more of her books, i think she moved onto halo lore now. She is helping to expand the book series after the events of halo 3

Same. All i know is that they executed order 66.
Jacob Bailey they later were put into a group that darth vador ordered and were paired up with another group with remained of them that was similar to delta squad, but I can't remember their names. Their main missions were to kill the last remaining jedi and clones that betrayed the empire. It had its own comic, but since lucas games had the right to the series, and still technically do, even after being disbanded, the comic couldn't be continued, and with that, sev is sadly never to be seen, dubbed M.I.A.
hoodzeo that's actually kinda sad. I remember playing Republic Commando for the original Xbox. It was just the demo but I played the shit out of it
indeed they followed the order sad but true
+CommanderM117 they traded one slaver for another. what loyalty did they owe an organization that manufactured and conscripted children to fight their civil war that the people didn't support enough to fight themselves? the republic was no better than the empire even if it was democratic. the only sad thing that came of it is that they didn't kill the sith along with the jedi.
