He's a lot more grey in the Legends continuity and displayed nobler traits, and he didn't fully fall to the Dark Side until the last year or so of the Clone Wars. A man who, in his eyes, tried to do the right thing, held humanitarian values, but ultimately was left with no-one. Also, I don’t believe he was as much of a pawn of Sidious’ as people believe. For example, in Episode II, he revealed to Obi-Wan the senate was under the control of ‘a dark lord of the Sith.’ If only Obi-Wan had believed Dooku, perhaps Palpatine would have been exposed. Plus, Dooku trained his apprentices to a much higher standard than Sidious permitted him to, suggesting to me that Dooku had plans of his own. Either way, he is certainly an interesting character; the films of which do not do him justice.

Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis The Wise? I thought not. It's not a story the Jedi would tell you. It's a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life… He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. I doubt you'll read this, but if you have the time, I think it'd be cool if you made a video on The Life Of Stan Lee. After seeing your Life Of JK Rowling video recently.
If you think about it, Dooku trained Qui Gon, who trained Obi Wan, who trained Anakin. So in a way, Dooku is Anakins Jedi equivalent of a great grandfather
Dooku was like 80 during the clone wars. He matched both Anakin and Obi-Wan. And in the Original trilogy Obi-Wan was 60 and he moved as slow as a burnt robot. The fuck.
Way back when, I started liking Count Dooku just because he's played by my all-time favorite actor, Sir Christopher Lee, but the more I learned about the character himself, the more I like him. He's a gentleman, just like the actor who played him. He didn't want galactic conquest, he was trying to restructure the galactic government so that it would function more effectively and would actually accomplish what it needed to, rather than the endless squabbling of the Republic's senators. The Sith were a means to an end for him, but he got pulled in a little too far.
You know the actor who played him, Chris Lee, was not a gentleman right?.. he lied about his life. He pretended he was an SAS super soldier in WW2. He was not.
Dooku as my main favorite Sith Lord from the Star Wars Saga and mainly from the prequel movies, for some reason I've always sympathize with him more than with other Sith Lords, and sometimes even more than with other Jedis. Although I do also sympathize with Vader as well, but with Dooku its totally different. This is because I always looked at the Count as a more of a respectable Sith Lord than Vader or the Emperor. His siding with the dark side came more from a place of ambition and desire for power than from a place of evil and desire of destruction. And as well Dooku felt much more moderate like a Sith Lord. This we can see it through his lines of dialogue, like when he is speaking directly to Anakin or Yoda, it seemed to me that Dooku was a charismatic leader and mainly he treated his enemies with respect and courtesy, even if they where prisoners. His cultivated presence proves that Sith Lords doesn't necessarily need to be destructive beings of rage.

If the Jedi don't believe in saving people from natural disasters or pirates, then they probably aren't evil but aren't completely a force for good either.
The Jedi had different schools of thought as highlighted by the lightsaber colours. Some were more pro intervention and others saw it as their job to follow the will of the force. The philosophy of the Jedi evolved continuously like any institution and was also vulnerable to manipulation. Their intentions weren’t evil but they had strayed from their core mission when they obeyed the Republic rather than their ideals. Doesn’t make them bad, it made them ineffective though.

Speaking of sith lords. This guy should do a video on the Sith Triumvirate. Darth Trays, Darth Nihilus, and Darth Sion. They're all so cool and deserve more exposition. I don't care if it's legends every star wars fan must know their names.
One problem, Yoda wasn’t Dooku’s permanent master, he had someone else, I can’t remember his name though.
I the new canon it was only Yoda
I personally think that dooku has one of the most interesting background story
I agree
He is the best character in the prequels
I doubt you'll read this, but if you have the time, I think it'd be cool if you made a video on The Life Of Stan Lee. After seeing your Life Of JK Rowling video recently.
“I’ve become more powerful than any Jedi. Even you.” - Count Dooku
If you think about it, Dooku trained Qui Gon, who trained Obi Wan, who trained Anakin. So in a way, Dooku is Anakins Jedi equivalent of a great grandfather
Yes! Another Star Wars character analysis.
"Dooku wont be missed by anybody"
Grievous: "BUT THE LOSS OF COUNT DOOKU!!!!"
Honestly dooku is one of my favorite characters
Sameeee
The life of Bossk would be very interesting
damn. Dooku is actually interesting in canon. Although its so much different from his old eu backstory. Still good job to whoever wrote these story's
I love these Star Wars videos so much keep them coming
Dooku was like 80 during the clone wars. He matched both Anakin and Obi-Wan. And in the Original trilogy Obi-Wan was 60 and he moved as slow as a burnt robot. The fuck.
I'm so happy that this month we'll get to see Dooku as a Jedi and his fall in Tales of the Jedi. He's such an interesting character.
Ye him killing his sister and apprentice seems off charachter when he tried to turn obi wan and let him live after the offer was rejected
You know the actor who played him, Chris Lee, was not a gentleman right?.. he lied about his life. He pretended he was an SAS super soldier in WW2. He was not.
@@Burn-nf3fo What's your source on that claim?
@@Burn-nf3fobullshit ...
Dooku was granted the rank of master but still turned to the dark side, crazy!
One of my favourite Star Wars Characters!
Great video MovieFlame
The life of Darth Sidious would be great to see
We need a movie about Dooku’s life
Yes more Star Wars
He probably my favourite prequel villain including the clone wars most of the reason is that it was Christopher Lee who acted/voiced him
*signature look of superiority*
When he had his sister put down you know he fully fell
Bet when Dooku heard The Tragedy of Darth Plaeguis the wise he instantly turned to the dark side
Hi darth maul
I am darth Vader
The dark side of the force is pathway to many abilities, some considered un-natural
14:30 I do actually believe qui-gon jinn might of joined the sepratists if he had survived his duel with maul on the energy sector of naboo due to the fact qui gon jinn frequently became annoyed with the republic and the jedi council
MovieFlame : an ancient Sith beast called-
Me : a black silhouette of the Welsh Dragon, that’s quite nice :)
Dooku should have just spilled the beans about Sidious and Order 66 as soon as Sheev told Anakin to kill him
I believe there was a time when Jedi Master Dooku would have been respected and honored throughout the Galaxy as an even handed fair authority figure
Petition for MovieFlame to make the life of Anakin Skywalker.
Can you tell the Life of Anakin Skywalker?
We already know the life of Anakin Skywalker
Thomas Davey watch the original 6 movies
@@jakealter5504 yeah I did
@@jakealter5504 who's Thomas Darvey?
Yes another Movieflame video❤️
I'm used to seeing the life of past Avatars so it definitely felt strange at first to hear the same music with your voice talking about Star Ears instead but amazing as always my friend
They should make Dooku: A Star Wars Story
AMAZiING perfect explanation
Definitely one of the most interesting Star Wars villains.
"ancient Beast"
*Welsh Dragon appears*
*Old land of my fathers intensifies*
Strong even in another universe.
And also please do the life of General Grievous
Dooku deserves his own movie, but Disney dos not deserve that priviledge.
Agreed
@@stephanzawadski453
Yes
And yet, despite all the hardships and decisions he has made, he is still my favorite character.
Thank you for this informative vid, fantastic work.
When you’re a character created to fill the hole left by Darth Jar Jar...
Dooku
One of the best characters in Star Wars history
If the Jedi don't believe in saving people from natural disasters or pirates, then they probably aren't evil but aren't completely a force for good either.
The Jedi had different schools of thought as highlighted by the lightsaber colours. Some were more pro intervention and others saw it as their job to follow the will of the force. The philosophy of the Jedi evolved continuously like any institution and was also vulnerable to manipulation. Their intentions weren’t evil but they had strayed from their core mission when they obeyed the Republic rather than their ideals. Doesn’t make them bad, it made them ineffective though.
one cannot be all good without being completely weak.
Was Yoda completely weak,@@dylangraham1503?
@@IndianaJoe0321 I assume you mean yoda and yes he was because for all his power he still just sat a watched the clone wars continue while his jedi knights died.
@@dylangraham1503 Yes, but the point is he was not completely weak which your statement decreed as per the condition of being all good. Meaning you're wrong, albeit too prideful to say it.
