Strong Shoulders 4 of 4 for Scapular Stabilization, Rotator Cuff and Deltoid Strength

- This 4th video in the series of shoulder exercises using weights is the most advanced. If you're looking for a workout for your shoulders, you're going to love it. Don't try and be the hero on this one. Just get a feel for it by using lighter weights the first time.
After years of being a sponsored competitive mountain biker, I was a chiropractor with torn ligaments and muscles as seen on an MRI. What I am giving you here are the exercises that helped me. They are focused on the rotator cuff muscles and the scapular (wing bone) stabilizers. Some of the muscles worked are the supraspinatus, teres minor, rhomboids, anterior deltoids, lateral deltoids, posterior deltoids, serratus anterior and inferior trapezius muscles to name a few.
Why emphasize core for a shoulder video? Your core muscles are the center of power of your body. They connect your lower and upper body and, when your core is engaging with strength, your extremities actually get stronger. Think of sweeping the floor or hitting a ball with weak core muscles. Your arms won't have a strong base to work off of. The core backs up and grounds the body while the arms can move with less give in the torso. Body movement should originate in the core. Try to engage it while doing these shoulder strengthening exercises.
Be cautious and do them every other day or more frequently if able. If these are too much for you, stop and give us a call or go to my no-equipment arm exercises. Also check out ESWT (extracorporeal shockwave therapy) and class IV laser as treatment possibilities in our office.

Dear Dr. Adam. You gave me my shoulder back, and for that I can’t thank you enough. With your motivation, guidance, encouragement and competence I was able to pull it off. First a chiropractor, then my mentor and guide, you have become my superhero: a healer. Four months ago I could not move my arm one inch, and now, 21 videos later, I’m close to 100 percent again. The Porsche has been rebuilt and I’m getting ready to throw kids over my back into the pool.
And, yes, my abs have of course been engaged this entire time:-)
All the best to you. Live long and prosper!
THANK YOU, I found this workout very helpful ☺️! I definitely am getting stronger and stronger every day and it feels NICE😌! A few more of these workouts and it won't be long before I can stand on my head in yoga 😀. Now, that WILL be a moment 😊! Thanks again, I appreciate it! M
Michelle Lindemann In that case you may want to do my neck strengthening exercises video :-)
Namaste!
Thank you for these videos you’ve helped me so much!!
Fantastic set of exercises. One of London's top Osteopaths recommended these videos and they proved immensely helpful. Thank you 👍👍
Great to hear and what an honor
Adorably great video with great connection with the viewers. I’m still suffering from the scapula alignment problem on the right side however I have been doing regular exercise with you on UA-cam
So happy you found these, Raj. You'll get your scapula under control.
Thanks Doc!
Definitely dirty and sweaty! In a good way. Another great series. Thank you very much, Dr. Fields.
You made it to #4. Good job! Not an easy one.
@@dradamfields Thank you! I couldn't find your email address when I checked your website, Dr. Fields. So, I wrote you a letter (snail mail?!) about my excess saliva trouble. I hope you have received it. Please let me know if you would like me to send it again or if there is some other way to contact you directly. So sorry to bother you. Many thanks, Nina from Yorkshire, England, UK.
I just finished day 4 and I'm loving it. Cancelled my appointment with chiropractor because my nack/shoulder pain is almost gone. Will continue till I'm stronger. Gratitude for sharing🙏, great exercises 😊
That is so great, Margaret. Thank you for sharing with us and your sphere on social.
Best thing is you also doing workout with us
I'm a beneficiary of these workouts too ; )
This channel deserves more likes!!! I had a shoulder surgery a few years ago and the instability returned after I resumed sports recently. I thought I will have to quit playing (again)..but found these exercises and they have been incredibly helpful! Thanks doc..like really. You’re amazing
One request - can we please get a similar playlist for legs strengthening?
Thanks so much for the comment and sharing on social media. I have some knee/leg strengthening videos. There are 4 of them I'll make a playlist.
@@dradamfields Thanks doc. I am sure this channel will soon get millions of views. Top quality! Godspeed to you
Wow. This was a leap from the other 3. I guess it'll be a girl to do the full version of all these exercises.
Way to give it a go! Try my no-weight shoulder videos also
Hey your videos are great have felt a great workout in the shoulders. how long before I can get back to full strength I recently dislocated my shoulder after having labrum surgery 1 year ago these are the best videos I’ve came across thank you
Keep it up. This is a long journey. After what you have gone through, I would make my shoulder videos a permanent part of your life. It will take months before full strength is regained. The key is to continue the exercises and not flare up the problem. Only then does healing continue without, "picking the scab" so to speak.
Tqu doctor
Should I keep doing day 1 for shoulders every other day ? Or I make day 1 ,then day off ,then day 2 ,then day off ,then day 3 and so on unitl 4? Or how ? Hhh
On the beginning of the video says "Day 4". I guess is one everyday
It's tough, today is my second doing it but boy,it's tough, and after I finish this workout,I experience slight headache, I don't know why,all the other 3 shoulder exercises were great, this fourt one too,but I do get a headache which goes away after a few minutes,is it normal,or I should altogether avoid it?
I will glad receiving back your kind response.
God bless.
Keep it up but try and keep your shoulders pulled down the whole time. You are heading for a great physique and super strong shoulders. Way to go!
Thanks,will press on.
Way to go is to not give up.
God bless you.
