    Begin with a slip knot
    Chain 56
Join in the furthest chain from hook with a slip stitch
    Chain 3
Round 1: Ch 3, then work a dc in each chain. Join to close round in the topmost chain with a slip stitch.
Rounds 2-4: work a fpdc in each stitch. Join to close round in the topmost chain with a slip stitch.
Round 5: Ch 3, then skip the next stitch. *In the next stitch work (dc, ch 1, dc), then skip the next stitch. Repeat from * around.
Round 6: Ch 3, *then in the center of each “v” (chain 1 space), work (dc, ch 1, dc). Repeat from * around, then
Repeat round 6 until hat measures about 13.5 inches tall, then Fasten off leaving a long tail (about 24 inches or so). Turn your hat inside out and with a tapestry needle, thread the tail along the top edge opening with a running stitch all the way around. Pull tail tight and fasten with a secure knot. Weave in any ends.

Hi Lisa, thank you for your wonderful tutorial, you have done a great job. Just a question……I am not seeing any info on the size of the needle used and the thickness of the yarn. Could you please also direct me if I want to make this in a finer yarn for a warmer season wear am I just making as many chain as needed for the size and continuing on from there, will the sizing just follow on?? Hope i have made sense in my question? Thank you, and great work

The info is in the very beginning of the tutorial. I believe if you use a lighter yarn, just make sure to use proper measurements ensuring a good fit.

I don't understand how all rows after and including row 5 have straight sides forming a tube, when essentially a v stitch increases the number of stitches. Would it be possible to have a stitch count at the end of row 5 to help keep us on track plz? 😊

Hello my lovely crochet friend I just wanted to say thank you for this tutorial because I found it to be very helpful and I was also interested in the crochet hook that you were using in the video I wanted to know what kind it is and maybe where you got it from cause I thought it was so beautiful and did it come in a set or not. I hope you get a chance to read this and reply when ever you have time thanks.

Is there a reason why the bottom of the ribbing would curl up? I've redone it like 3 times and it keeps curling upwards at the bottom lol

    • @LifeWithLisa3434

only reason I can fathom that happening is your tension may be too tight. otherwise, it should lay flat.

I'm working on a scarf with that stitch.....mainly because not everybody likes the feel of things around their neck, so it's nice and relaxed. But, I haven't been able to find a slouchy hat made with it other than for 1 that came close but I think it was a star stitch.
Thank you, I found it very easy to follow what ur doing.......very important for me. 👍🏻
