This pillow looks like a nursing pillow. Just buy one of those for more than half the cost. $80 for this pillow? W😳W!!! I honestly pulled mine out (can’t believe I found it right off the bat!) and I placed it around my waist, and I was crocheting just as upright and straight like Tiffany! ☺️
Totally get it. Not the cheapest investment but not exactly a boppy pillow either. YES! They do have a very similar shape and the founder even mentions that the boppy was a form of inspiration. However, I've had 3 other followers compare their boppy pillow to a Valari pillow and all three ditched the boppy. It's softer, the clip in the back keeps the pillow in place so you don't have to fuss with repositioning it, and it looks more adult with the super soft covers and colors. But if the boppy works great for you, all I care about is that you have the BEST crochet experience and prevent getting aches and pains doing what you love.
How on earth do you hold your yarn with your pointer finger bent like that??? If I did that my top finger joint would stay like that or be permanently impaired!!
It's actually just a muscle memory now. This is how I learned as a child and had nobody to tell me otherwise. I've actually met a phew people who also hold their tension hand like I do so it's not uncommon. Now it's just a normal stance I have. Been crocheting this way for 35 years. Depending on the yarn I am using I sometimes find it easier to point my finger but when I really need to control the tension, this is where my hands resume position. 😊
Hi Tiffany! Yup, will be doing this beanie! It’s beautiful. I also ordered a pillow not that one, the one a bit cheaper. I had to go directly to their site cause every time I tried to use the link from your original video, it would tell me it wasn’t responding. I did use your code and ordered it yesterday. I don’t know what the difference is on the pillow but it was better for my budget. I am excited for it and the beanie and the yarn (at another time) Thank you 😊
I am so happy you got one of the Valari Pillows! Getting the one at a cheaper price is great!! It will still help you. Sorry about the link but I'm glad you found your way over. Please let me know what you think! I'm so happy you like my beanie too. I had so much fun making this pattern. And my yarn can wait. There will always be time for that. Not going anywhere. 🤗❤️🧶
If you like Hobby Lobby's Sugarwheel Cotton yarn I think that could make a good substitute. I worked up a WPI on both yarns and they both gave me an 11 so they work as substitutes. 😊
It will always be the Little Prairie beanie for me 😂 thank you so much! I was anticipating this beanie tutorial and now it’s finally here❤❤❤and I’m even more excited because I have this yarn!!!! 😀 Just FYI the hook link in the description to the Amazon hooks package does NOT include a 3.75 mm.
Hi tiffany hansen right now I am working on my cottage core mosaic blanket and granny squares blanket and butterfly mosaic blanket and I love your channel and your videos and if you keep making videos I will keep watching them and what is your favorite crochet project to work on right now and favorite type of yarn to used when crocheting and keep up the great work on your UA-cam channel and keep up the great work on your crochet project
WOW 😊. So many projects at once ! I've been a one till done person for years but I think I'll try 2 projects for a change 1 large project and one small like: mittens, beanies or muffs. Thanks for the unintentionally encouragement ❤.
Good morning, Tiffany! I would like to make this beanie in multiple sizes. Could you give stitch counts or multiples for how to size up or down on this project? This beanie would look adorable on a baby!❤
AWE! That would be a cute baby beanie for sure! The multiple stitch count is multiple of 3 + 2 rows in the brim. So, with my pattern I used 107, next down would be 104 and so on. Just measure out the length of the brim when comparing it to a chart to get the circumference of the head right. 😊❤️🧶
If you need to make any adjustments to make the beanie smaller I would work the Brim down from 107 rows to 103 rows. The rest of the project should work out just fine. 😊❤️🧶
Great question. I don't have a sizing chart available for this pattern but what you could do to make alterations is decrease the brim to a total of 104. Or work in a multiple of 3 + 2 to make that flower shape Cluster work. If you wanted to go even smaller just gauge off the brim fit and make sure it is worked in a multiple of 3 + 2 rows. I hope this helps. 😊❤️🧶
Not 100%. I used almost an entire skein of Willow Yarns Denim Grace from Herrschners.com which has 360 yards of yarn. So, probably around 340ish yards. 😊
Tiff where do I get that Combo Gauge 😮!!!? I spin a lot of yarn and would absolutely adore the ability to assure myself and others of the 'size' of individually spun yarn .
Hmm, I'm sorry. Not sure what's going on for you. The only thing I can think of is if you have the right number of stitches in row 1 of the main beanie. That number of stitches worked in the side of the brim is super important to get right. Everything else should fall into place.

I was taught like that too, I’ve been at it for 50 years with no aches or pains 😊
@@LyndaR8 ok that is weird! Well the proof is in the pudding. I guess that means you are inflammation and arthritis free!
I just received mine. I'm getting ready to try it out
Love this. Thanks for sharing.

Super! Going to crochet one...when I find a light 4 yarn.

Adorable beanie! Thank you for sharing. Do u have the length measurement on the brim before seaming? I'm not sure if the yarn I've chosen work.
Great question! The length of my Brim is 20 inches long. 😊❤️🧶

Very cute beanie! I have a small head wonder if this beanie will be too big for me looks like the brim is big. 💕💕

Thank you for this beautiful beanie. I finished mine. Unfortunately it's too big for me. Do you have a table where I can get the right size?

Yes😃 Thank you!🎉🌺
Hoping to do this with a couple of partial balls. Do you know approximate yardage?

Here's a link to it: amzn.to/3uYOZXL. It's pretty great. I use mine all the time.
Would Premier Afternoon Cotton work for this beanie?
Yes! I think this yarn would work up well with this beanie pattern. 😊
What makes it a sampler beanie? I've seen other people name their hat like that and I'm just wondering why they are called that.
It’s like a sampler blanket that includes a variety of stitches for variety and interest!
@@larh99 oo okay I see.
