In 1986, when I was 16, I got to see them perform during their "Rage for Order" Tour. They were the opening act for Ozzy. I had already been listening to them since the release of their "The Warning" album. Which is the album that "Take Hold Of The Flame" was released on. Such a phenomenal concert.
Geoff Tate is a powerhouse. Queensryche has an amazing history of music worth listening to. Great job, ladies.
I'm blown away to discover young girls listening to such stuff from the famous 80s !!!
One of the greatest vocalist in metal ever!!!
Get off his nuts
My opinion greatest vocalist off all time check out killing words I will remember both on Mtv unplugged won't be disappointed
What makes this performance even more amazing is that it's live. Phenominal band.
AND it was part of the encore!! 😳
I am 61...I saw them on this tour...the promotional tour for their first album, which had just been released in the U.S., they were in Japan because the first recording was an E.P. (Extended Play) of just 4 songs and a big hit there...I saw them in a small club in Brooklyn, NY and they were that amazing...I remember Geff Tates voice and eyes...he has these haunting eyes...he would come to the edge of the stage and the girls would melt...lol. I have seen them 8 times on 3 different tours...3 of the original members are gone, so they don't same as good (to me) anymore...
Also 61 (in ten days), my friend. Only saw them three times, but the tour behind this album was one. I was living in Orlando, playing low rent gigs in a shit band, holding down a job at a sign shop to keep the lights on. My manager and I became smoking buddies and used to jet to his apartment for lunch breaks to toke. One day I saw this album lying next to his rack and asked about it. I knew about the EP, but lost track of the band after that.
Gobsmacked is the only word that comes close to what I felt that day. Geoff Tate may be a dick, but what a voice.
From that day on, my preferred poisoin was melodic metal.
Absolutely killer band.
What club and what part of Brooklyn?
@@Hollingsworth2781 It was called L'AMOUR....86th St. in Bayridge. Queensryche, White Lion, Kix, Ratt, Iron Maiden, Slayer and many more, all played there.
@@michaelmcnair7624 I grew up in NJ, close to NYC. I also lived in Manhattan for 13 years. I know Bay Ridge pretty well. I remember L'AMOUR although I never went there. I remember the radio ads for it. It was a great disco venue at first as it played off being fairly close to Bensonhurst any Bay Ridge where they filmed Saturday Night Fever. I have been to 50 other venues, but I never went there. Where are you living now? Geoff Tate is my favorite heavy metal singer.
Great reaction! What i love is that you guys are younger and how much you appreciate their brilliance. This is from my teenage years, so like i said, love seeing a younger generation enjoy them. Thx
I saw them on this tour when I was 15 years old. I seriously didn't expect Geoff Tate to be able to sing as well live as he did on The Warning. He hit every single note that night. Saw them again the following year opening for Iron Maiden. Same thing. Amazing singer and an amazing band. That being said, I love your channel! It's so cool to see young people getting into this great, classic music. You girls are helping to keep it alive. Thank you for that. :)
Back then - those first two albums - forget it.
They went straight to the top. A mysterious band.
I saw Queensryche open for Kiss in 1984. I love their debut EP. They had a strong Iron Maiden vibe in those earliest days. Great reaction, ladies!
I saw Queensrÿche in concert many, many years ago. I was blown away! Geoff Tate was such an incredible singer!!
I am so happy that I was alive during this time, and saw them live in '86 (Rage), then again on Mindcrime, and Promised Land. Imho the best singer ever!
I grew up in this era and it’s so incredible to watch young people get to experience and react to what was such a huge part of my life at the time.
Queensryche one of the best live bands ever. They do transitions live flawlessly very talented musicians. Geoff Tates through the years has stood out as one of the best vocalist in progressive metal.
I saw this tour at L'amour in Brooklyn this same year.
They were even wearing the same outfits.
Absolutely spot on performance.
I am not sure if i can express in words how cool it is to see young people react to music i grew up with and see the same joy i felt so long ago hearing it for the first time. Pretty cool indeed
Amazing reaction! Speechless is the way. This was the encore song after over an hour & a half show. Just incredible.
Well, well finally got the some real Queensryche 👏 😳 🙌 they have awesome energy and power. Try eyes of a stranger or Queen of the Riech live in Tokyo....another masterpiece 🔥
If you young ladies would love to experience them even deeper, then you sitting should watch their 1991 live in Wisconsin performance of "Suite: Sister Mary". You'll love it.
Check out the entire album “Operation Mindcrime” by them. (Even if just by yourselves) It’s a concept album, so don’t listen to any single song separately, as you’ll wreck your experience. A true masterpiece!
One hundred percent!
You girls really made me smile! You pointed out all the aspects of (original lineup) Queensryche that I LOVE:
Their songwriting, harmonies, guitars, bass, killer drums, and Geoff's untouchable VOCALS!
And yes, they are a TIGHT band. They are the best live band I've ever seen!!
Your comments were right on the mark! I hope you do more QR reactions!
Try: "Anybody Listening?"
"Another Rainy Night"
"The Killing Words" MTV Unplugged 1992
"Walk in the Shadows"
"Breaking the Silence"
And a million more....
Realize. During this performance he was already singing. For an hour then goes into this song The look on your faces was Priceless
That is Rock'N'Roll ! ⚡
There is hope for the future. Welcome to music.
I'm 61 as of January 21 and I saw Queensryche numerous times the musicianship and Geoff Tates vocals are insane when that was recorded they've already been singing for an hour 20 minutes he was still that powerful
Queensryche is HEAVY and awesome live. I don't believe in Love, and Last Time in Paris are my favorite , oh and Walk In The Shadows!
All Metalheads love this band
"Queen Of The Reich"
You'll LOVE it.
Saw them in 83 with Dio when I was 16. So great live. They changed singers in 2011, who is also amazing.
I can now die a happy headbanger knowing the flame has been passed to a new generation, ROCK N ROLL WILL NEVER DIE!
Finally! You finally did this one and what a great way to say "Welcome back, Mia and Juliet"! I'm so happy to see this and happy to be a Patreon 😁
Geoff Tate is an amazing and underrated vocalist. It helps that he's operatically trained.
I was very pleasantly surprised by the depth of you reaction considering your age. Keep this up.
The people: "Which octave, Geoff Tate?"
Geoff Tate: "ALL OF THEM."
Lead vocalist Geoff Tate actually is a baritone who has training in opera through his aunt or his mother when he was in Germany. Sadly, the original lineup is no longer together. I will also recommend Roads to Madness, The Warning, Heck, the whole album. Any one of those songs is a must listen.
It's great seeing you guys enjoy again 😊
That youngsters is how we rolled in the 80's.
Mindcrime is a masterpiece
Life changing ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Jet City Women is my favorite by them.
Very good thank you 😁
Absorb the vocals of all his sustainable spirit
Great choice queensryche one of my favorite bands operation mindcrime is a masterpiece you must do something from that album and Geoff Tate is a great singer keep on rocking girls bye!
I was stationed in Ft. Jackson, SC in boot camp when this came out. I thought it was a tribute to the 1984 Olympics.
A nice track, from quite a few years ago!!!!
1984 IN TOKYO !!!
My favourite 80's band! Saw tham many times live. Next to Ronnie James Dio they were the best live sounding band ive heard ever!
Good choice ladies. Check out their version of Simon & Garfunkle's Scarborough Fair.
Great review ladies!
Seen them in 2003 opening up for Dream Theater. Both bands were 👍
Saw them open for KISS in 1984. Was equally blown away not having heard them before.
Hi ladies! He just belts out those vocals effortlessly doesn't he! Insightful and fun reaction as always! Peace & love🌿💔YEE!
Juliet and Mia !!!
I started listening to Queensryche 40 years ago when they were just coming up. I bought their mini album on their own label. That mini album starts out with a song called Queen Of The Ryche which starts out with one of those insanely high pitched screams by Geoff Tate. The first time my friend heard that scream he had to hang on to avoid falling down from shock! In my opinion Geoff was one of the best metal vocalists ever, but unfortunately he is now in his mid 60s and can't hit those high notes anymore.
I saw them supporting the Empire album but they still performed most of the Operation Mindcrime album. Geoff has the most range of most vocalists in any genre and I believe he's actually a professionally trained opera singer as well. The band is still grinding and had a huge break up with Geoff and he's touring solo and still sounds fantastic.
Great reaction ladies! Saw them live a few times back in the day, just as amazing, recommend you listen to a lot more Queensryche, rock on!
When an opportunity comes your way grab it! Meaning of the song. I love the line “you got nothing to lose but everything to gain “. Go for it! Be well good to see you guys again! Thx!🤘
AND-- you haven't even heard OPERATION MINDCRIME yet. WOW! I can't wait for you to listen to the entire concept album, where all the songs, in order, tell a story about organized crime, love and betrayal. Then, watch Operation 'LIVE' Crime, which is not only a LIVE performance of the album, but also a stage show where Geoff Tate and a ghostly guest blow you away with their performance. I had the pleasure of seeing it in an old theater in San Francisco back when Geoff had hair, and I can tell you honestly that my hairs were standing on end for the entire show. 'I Don't Believe in Love' and 'Eyes of a Stranger' are two of the stand out songs that you can react to, but you haven't really seen what they can do, until you see and hear OPERATION MIND CRIME in its entirety. Oh and the sequel 'Mind Crime 2' isn't as good, but it does have an epic vocal battle of good and evil between Geoff Tate and 'guest' villain RONNIE JAMES DIO. Enjoy ladies.
Hermoso verlas chicas , saludos desde Buenos Aires
U girls should react to.the song I Don't Believe In Love. Now that's a powerful song .
My friends and brothers were all fans into the 90's and it's so cool to see them getting so much love from young reactors now.
If you do more Queensryche try to do live versions from the Livecrime show in 1991.
Aint seen yall in a while.👍👍
Hey girls Geoff Tate was 25 in 1984 and now he's 64 and STILL can hit those E5 notes but down tuned.
I saw them live more times than I can count in the 80's, 90's & 2000's. Amazing live with Geoff Tate singing! For more live performance, they made a live concert video for their amazing concept album "Operation Mindcrime" in its entirety, called "Operation Livecrime." A must-watch to enjoy even without reacting.
Their album "the warning" and "RAGE FOR ORDER" and of course "operation mindcrime" are ABSOLUTE master pieces of great music! Song after song on each album is unbelievable... not a bad song on any of them! You must investigate. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🤘
Love this reaction! You should react to Playing God by Polyphia next!
And this was the last song they did at the end of the concert
Hello Ladies, IThere is a great clip I think you should check out.! Mia will really enjoy it ..Rick Wakeman awesome piano solo from a few years ago ....... He really is a Wizard of the keyboads ...x
Go see Geoff Tate live. Still has an amazing vocal range. Queensryche the band does tour with a different lead singer due to a fallen out years ago. Both tour every year! The lead singer with Queensyche now sings well but he brings a very different sound!
Hey guys great song by a great band good songs to check out next would be . The lady wore black . Or roads to madness . Also the album operation mindcrime is a concept album you should check out from start to finish it tells a story all the way through but you might need your folks to ok it as it can be a little harsh keep up the great job
Come on !!!.. react to GRAND FUNK !!..INSIDE LOOKING OUT...LIVE.
hugs from chile 🇨🇱❤️
And it's live! Try a modern artist getting to the levels of Geoff Tate live. Forget it! 🤣
Great reaction ladies 👍
☝️🫶🫰
Geoff Tate is awesome the best vocals in the metal seen in the 80s and still now to bad they are not together anymore Geoff Tate band is on tour now queensryche is a cheap version of what it was.
React to faith no more - epic
For extra credit react to walk in the shadows operation mindcrime Eyes Of The Stranger revolution calling I don't believe in love breaking the silence to tell the truth the whole operation mindcrime album concept album was incredible the entire Empire album was really good to can't go wrong with any songs off from either of those albums
Hope you’re doing good!
Seen their reaction to Stryper’s. Surrender, liked that new generation is getting turned on to great music
Please react to Eyes Of A Stranger and the original video, better than Take Hold Of The Flame! Geoff Tate is the singer, but we can't lose sight of the fact that the whole band phenomenal!
No eyes. They need to hear whole album.
hiya girls maybe revisit skid row & take a look at wasted time if u wanna see amazing vocals :)
I saw Queensryche with Judas Priest last April, that's how you got your shirts, I'm going to see them again this March 14th Tuesday, then I'll be seeing Stryper in June 9th.
Just saw them the other night in Destin Florida, great show, love the new set list!
Sugiro um reação de Carolina lV ..Angra
Early in their careers.
My friend introduced me to Queensryche's Operation Mindcrime album when it came out. She was a rock singer and between the two of us (one guy, one girl) we could just about cover Geoff Tate's range (but even then, not comfortably!). You should check out Operation Mindcrime: it was far and away their biggest hit album. It's a concept album that tells a consistent (and VERY dark) story over the whole album. I'd suggest the best approach would be to listen to the whole thing in order, but do it in such a way that you can edit it into separate videos for each song.
React operation mindcrime, was their Best Album
Classic Queensryche... the original band has so many great tunes that are diverse, from heavy metal tunes like this song and others ('Eyes of a stranger'... 'Walk in the shadows'... 'Empire'... 'En Force')... to more subtle numbers ('Anybody listening?'... 'Bridge'... 'Sign of the times'... 'The lady wore black') 🤘🤘🔥🔥
Unfortunately, the original Queensryche is no more... lead singer Geoff Tate kinda got vocally weak and was fired in 2012 after an altercation w/ the band... But Queensryche now has a younger vocalist Todd LaTorre and he can really sing like a young Geoff Tate... Michael Wilton (guitar) and Eddie Jackson (bass) are the only original members left, but they have able replacements - Mike Stone (guitar) and Casey Grillo (drums) have taken over for original guitarist Chris DeGarmo and drummer Scott Rockenfield.
I will say that guitarist Michael Wilton is an incredible talent and has to seen performing live in concert 🤘🤘🔥🔥
As it happens, Queensryche is on tour now in the US and have a new album 'Digital Noise Alliance' (D.N.A.) worth checking out. Their new singles - 'Hold on'... 'Behind the walls'... 'Forest'... 'Realms' (Opening act is former Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman)
Queensrÿche excells live, they always have to 2012.
FYI. Current Queensryche is different members then classic lineup, sadly.
Same show listen to the song..... Queen of the Reich
Ladies and Gentleman, I present to you, Geoff Tate
You should listen to the singer's (Geoff Tate) self titled debut solo album. It's really good but doesn't sound like Queensryche. Listen to "In Other Words" or "Helpless".
This song really shows his vocal range. Mia man your hair is getting long
React to Operation Mindcrime 👍
Silent Lucidity is not prime Queensryche
If you ever have a chance to see them. See Geoff Tate on his own. He was the lead singer and is not in the band anymore. Queensryche still sounds good wirh a new singer but for me when a band changes the lead singer with one that tries to sound the same it aint the same band. AC/DC did it, Van Halen did because the singers sounded different. Journey scrapped Steve Perry literally for a karaoke singer.
I think there's only one or two original members left in Queensrÿche, and Geoff Tate isn't one of them. So for me there's no point in seeing them now. Besides, last I heard him sing, Geoff still had a pretty nice lower register, but couldn't come close to pulling off those kind of vocals anymore.
When their initial EP came out I wore that cassette out, and I still think it's their best recording, though only 4 songs. I always liked Iron Maiden's style of metal but was never real big on Iron Maiden. Queensrÿche was everything I liked about Maiden -- turned up a few notches -- with none of what I disliked.
The first couple of full albums are good too. Some real highlights, some filler too. They kinda lose me with Operation Mindcrime, though. Which is also when they really blew up. 🤷🏻 Seems like when a band gets popular with the world is when I start to dislike them. Like Metallica with the Black Album, or Def Leppard with Hysteria.
When I was first hearing Silent Lucidity on radio or MTV back in the day, I didn't even know it was Queensrÿche for a quite a while.
Get the EP, start up the song Queen of the Reich, and imagine what 16-year-old me thought when I first heard that cranked up on my stereo in 1983.
Yeah as good as silent lucidity is,it's not representative of their other work. Also doesn't show off his range like other songs do.
Operation Mindcrime.
stopped watching after about ten seconds. 95 per cent of the screen is wasted.
