Congratulations on release! I bought Graswarld 2.79b a few months back, for me its the best and most user friendly add on for grass, leaves, weeds, whatever you name it, its defiantly worth the price I wish I would have gotten it sooner. Will there be a free update for people who already have Graswarld or will we have to buy it again? Thanks

GPU hit 100 % when i add 150 density of dead grass and some normal grass while he add 800 here.I'm using Gtx 1660.

well for grass away from the camera you can just use a png .. or any method that utilizes low poly

You can achieve the same results with the standard Particle systems and a custom asset library.

im not sure if it was this add on but one grass add on i saw in a compilation had a a feature that would make blender show only the grass that is visibile for the camera and would let the other particles disappear.
I know it's an old thread, but this is coming very soon with the large scale update.

Looks super user friendly and op. Love it. I see u got 1.4 GB of Memory. What if i make a huge scene? what would you recommend to keep RAM low ? Or do u have any future Plans for this ?
Normally with a huge scene I just turn the "display percent" down to 10% or sometimes even 1% you can get an idea of what the scene will look like and continue to work on other parts of the scene without it getting slow. Or just hide all of the grass with the "display modifier in viewport" option.
Same thing, I tried this addon today and after adding the 3rd varient to the surface the memory usage spiked to 5gb
How do we cover larger areas using Graswald? It slows down pretty quick for me, wondering if there's a better practice.

It will never happen. They're hiding behind the fact that they can't make anything look photoreal! That's why were not getting in-depth TUTs about in cycles. Very poor attempt at misleading their customers
@@mrfeathers3938 Are you sure about that? They already look pretty damn good on Eevee. If you still find them lacking in Cycles, you can tweak to your gusto. This tool still vastly speeds up your workflow.
Also, these are supposed to be on the Background, not right in front of the camera.

After trying a few settings, and finally satisfied with the settings, the file size became several hundred mega bytes, even though it only uses 1 type of grass setting with a single 2 m by 2 m plane.
How do we safely remove graswald data blocks that are no longer used to reduce file size?
Does graswald always save unnecessary datablock in blender file even though it's not used?
Graswald should do most of the cleanup automatically, saving and reopening cleans the most. The large files could be due to texture sizes. It's on our radar but priority isn't too high

Tried the new version today, same issue as old. The ram spiked up to 3 gb and blender would stuck on the render. All of it by just adding 3 varient to default cube!
same here. i thought it was happening only with me. I'm using the demo version.

Hi! today I bought the Graswald VOL.1. On the download page I downloaded the "GraswaldLibrary_Vol1_Blender_Cycles" file, but when I try to install the addon on Blender, the software does not list it. I tried to install Gscatter and it appears as an addon. how can i solve?
using 2.9. and i cant select the zip file or the folder. feel like i have to select one .py file

There's the fluffy white thing for dandelions, but cotton is not one of the species in graswald
I bought and downloaded graswald to my PC but there is no zip file when I try to add it on in blender.... theres only core, demos, simulations, packages, and package ccreator
in the blender market after I have purchased this, there are two download options, Graswald for Blender 2.79 and Graswald for Blender...... when I downloaded graswald for blender, there is no zip file.... but the only other option is graswald for blender 2.79 yet I'm in 2.81..... I don't want an old version of your add on

You neglected to say HIT E when you click on the surface.
How does it perform at scale, say 100x400m?
For the current graswald, that is really heavy. We are working on variants optimized for larger scenes though, and that should make scenes of that size more usable (currently if you have a nice machine you can kinda work with them, but the viewport gets really slow). And you may have vram issues rendering on gpu.

We're currently working on better large scale support, that will make it a lot easier to scatter larger amounts more optimized.
i want do download the free test version but it doesnt work. it says oop try again. ad block and any other fire fox add on is turned off.

I bought Graswald 1.13 last year on Gumroad, I have no idea how to get that update; I don't have a Blendermarket account yet.
Also from the description on BlenderMarket and Gumroad, it's called "Graswald for Blender 2.0" was it a mistake or is it version 2.0 now ?
It is version 2.0, you can get it from both, Blender Market and Gumroad, simply login to your Gumroad account and redownload.

I checked on Paypal and I found a 79$ payment to CGcookie, with a support mail to BlenderMarket so I'm really confused now. I send them a mail, I guess I need to retrieve that BlenderMarket account that I have absolutely no memory of x) haha omg
@@Graswald Sorry to bother again, so after being helped by the support I finally recovered my purchase online, so I download it again as required. Now I installed it and it says "version 1.2", am I mistaken again ? The files inside the "Graswald for Blender" ZIP seems all dated to 10/11/2019 so it's probably the right ones, but as you just stated "version 2.0" now I'm confused if I have the right version or not x)
That said, I just made a quick test and it works well so far. And I feel that it's way faster than before ! :o I like that. It was worth waiting for the 2.80 version in the end :)

Wow, those assets look really amazing and the addon seems to be very user-friendly... but 79$ is a bit too much for me. The next similar asset pack would be the Grass Essentials from BlenderGuru which also cost around 80$.
However, I think if I had to decide between those two asset packs I would prefer this one because of the easy to use interface but I'm still in hope to get this a bit cheaper in a sale any time soon. Maybe on Black Friday?! ^^

😀 Can this be export to unity ?
Graswald can export to fbx, or you can use any of blender's export tools, but you will need to reconstruct the materials. Graswald's export fbx puts all the needed textures with the fbx file.
if only it worked with octane...the addons developpers in blender completely ignore third party engine. and also it's too heavy ..just for some grass. i have an rtx 2080 ti ..and 64 gb or ram ..and it s ' slow .

They should make an accurate, slow, step by step tutorial, on how to use this thing...instead of a 500 mph video, which you have to slow down...(Not the same thing).
