When Bob came back home after the ball game, he called 911 without going in his house to see if something bad really happened, just as if he knew already what had happened in the house in question.

He didn't want to witness the crime scene (or the kids). He disasscociated himself from the crime. Also, how does he know anything is wrong? His wife could be chatting with a neighbor or on the phone and left the door slightly open. He already knew.

As soon as he said the door was open and he did not go in, Red Flags, anyone would have rushed in to see what had happened. Only the guilty goes to the neighbours or doesn't enter.

Never understood this argument, I'm not going in without a least a weapon or backup of some kind. You'd have no idea what's inside waiting for you. Then kids to worry about on top of that.
Maybe drop them off somewhere then come back, but why involve them.

As a woman, if I felt unsafe and my house showed signs of a break in, I might call. But if someone I loved might be inside, I’d probably just run in looking for them and seeing if they needed help.
The kids being with him was his excuse, I think. His 911 call was definitely suspicious!

Living alone as a woman in an Urban area I absolutely would be calling the police from my driveway before going in if I came home to an open door and I don't think anyone would think me silly, but if someone I loved was inside and not coming out THAT is what would override my instinct to protect my own self.

    • @LotsofLisa

I said the exact same thing. No husband who gives to rats about their wife would do that! There’s another case where the husband called police to go in his house first because his wife hadn’t answered the phone, the house was dark, her car was there, but she didn’t answer the doorbell. He called the cops from the front lawn, with a firearm! There was no reason he wasn’t in that house!
