I, too, was wondering why he wanted to kill Patrick, her son. I think he may have been envious of their relationship, given that his with his mother was murderous. The love that Leticia had for Patrick, we can assume, was beautiful. Patrick, no questions asked, went with this monster willingly because of his love for her. One can be kind-hearted while being discerning. I'm so tired of seeing so many women ignoring all the signs that we see enough of in these true crime shows. It's sickening to imagine how she felt the moment she realized that the seemingly nice stranger she'd been so kind to is actually a monster with an evil intention.
Yep. Sometimes I don't know which would be worse though, cuz that recent video he covered about the wife/stepmom being offed by her husband (and possibly the stepdaughter) struck me as just that... how would she have felt in that moment?!?
This is so incredibly sad. She seemed like such a lovely giving person. What a tragic ending. Once again many thanks Kevin for shining a light on these lesser known cases. And treating the victims and families with such respect ❤️

This is the kind of case that makes you wonder what’s the use of trying to help someone. She tries to reach out to a guy. She thinks he’s down on his luck and he repays her by murdering her. I know it’s just this case, but I’ve read too many stories like this, it’s a sad world we live in
I regularly buy essential clothes items for a local homeless charity as well as provide food supplement drinks which are equivalent to a meal which I have left over from what I’ve bought for my daughter and won’t be consumed before their use by date.
Because those charged with crimes deserve their day in court. Even those cases where there is so much evidence, a guilty verdict sometimes isn't the outcome.
First, my sincerest condolences to Leticia's son, Brother, family and friends. Rest in peace beautiful lady. 😢🙏 As for the perpetrator, for the sake of everyone, I pray he gets a life sentence. He is a complete menace to society.
I've watched many of your videos but this one really stands out for me. This guy is sick and so dangerous, yet looks like an average guy you'd see out on your everyday errands. For him to do what he did not only to Leticia, but to her son and his own mother with no remorse and have the nerve to plead not guilty is sickening. All because Leticia chose to be kind to a stranger. Sad.
I’m so happy that Patrick is ok. That was the most frightening thing the way he was almost lured to his death. I starting crying and I’m just so happy he’s ok 😔🙏🏾
Poor Patrick probably has no idea whats happening and why. His whole life as he knew it is now turned upside down. My friend and neighbor had a 20 year old son with severe Asperger's and they moved to Texas...a year later she died and he was left to live with her then bf. He was so confused as to what was going on and where she was. I felt so bad for him. I think his father was a deadbeat and he had no one else. His security and world as he knew it was gone and he just was so lost afterwards.
@@asanta2023 I'm not sure bcuz I never had any contact with the BF but from what I gathered from FB her oldest son who was Special Forces Marine either retired and took him in or he just took him in and just changed his job in the Marines bcuz he was always over in Afghanistan on some kind of mission and would've never been able to care for him. But you've made me curious now so I'm going to try to get a hold of the oldest son down in South Carolina and see what transpired. My youngest was his only friend here in Baltimore for his whole life b4 she picked up and moved to Texas and he was devastated. He was such a a good kid and he had Asperger's along with some other issues pretty bad. He never liked to talk to anyone but he loved coming to my house and talking to me and my wife. He definitely needed a lot of attention. His mother was his world and was EVERYTHING to him and I can't even imagine how lost he felt when she was gone. Thanks for asking and thanks for reminding me to follow up with them bcuz I always felt like I dropped the ball making sure he was in a safe place after she passed.
Let us hope that the correct sentence is handed down in this awful case, nearly two victims here and thankfully the lad was strong enough to fight him off, sadly Leticia was not able to, but by the look of his hands she did put up a brave fight. Justice for this dear lady! RIP Leticia.
It's Washington state. Since he's only up for 2nd degree, he won't get more than 15 years for her murder. Hopefully they'll pursue the kidnapping charges to get more time. Prosecutors in WA are the most timid I've ever come across in these stories, it is astonishing how insecure they are to take cases to trial.
@@junglekutz5625 That's pure speculation. I would think he probably would have been acting normal, if I may speculate myself, in order to be able to stay by her side long enough to end up strangling her.

A person willing to hurt or kill their own mother is arguably the most dangerous person in the world. There are convicted murders in prison who wouldn’t even do that. Very bizarre case. I’m confused as to why he went after the son? What was even the motive for killing Leticia to begin with? I don’t recall hearing one said. None of it makes any sense. Although this is a man who wore the same sweatshirt he murdered a person in to rob a house and department store, so clearly he’s operating with a room temperature IQ. Another example of no good deed goes unpunished.

Dude drove a '99 Audi, which he lured her into with some kind of lie, much like he had with Patrick. There was no time to say "no" to anything. Not sure if you were implying a sexual advance or not. The creep never entered her home, until he had already killed her, and came back MUCH later to oddly kidnap Patrick. Her keys and address were in her vehicle. Shaming an innocent murder victim is not a good look.
@@loveforeignaccents
She took him to the game.
Was the Audi his? Did he have a job? If he couldn't afford a hot dog lunch, I suspect that he couldn't afford a car either, plus he robbed a jewelry store.
You honestly don't see the glaring red flags with the way their supposed friendship began, and, considering how it ended that it wouldn't be a stretch to assume that maybe he again asked her for something again and she refused?
One can be kind-hearted while being discerning.
I'm so tired of seeing so many women ignoring all the signs that we see enough of in these true crime shows. I assume you're a female, so would a 42 year-old male/stranger asking you to buy him a hot dog a man you would want in your life?
I'll read up more on the story to get the details.
What an awful excuse for a human being. It's cases like this that make strong arguments for the death penalty!
Puccini (UK)
Absolutely.
I don't think one would even be eligible for the DP if only charged with and convicted of second-degree murder, which this man is. I think that is reserved as a possibility for eligibility if one is charged with and convicted of first-degree murder only... of course depending on the crime(s) as well.
Man, it just doesn't get any sadder than this. Leticia was nice to this guy...a total stranger to her, & he repays her by murdering her & attempting to kill her only son? Wtf?! Hope he gets the death penalty, but he won't. The death penalty is probably not even an option in that area of the country. Hope Patrick has a good life after this & can somehow cope & RIP Leticia.
A good reason not to befriend a stranger. Sorry but this reminds me of being a weary person.
@myunknownland9272 well every adult should have the kind of senses and instincts that allows them to know the difference between who to be weary of, and who is actually trustworthy. Of course folk can put on a front........but no front can hide deviance and crazy.
Absolutely true. This idiot is definitely a schizophrenic psychopath. But Letizia was so kind that she probably just considered him socially awkward, and wanted to make him feel good. @@junglekutz5625
@@junglekutz5625except they aren’t so discernible. Keep thinking this cant happen to you or a loved one!
Did you mean weary or wary? Or both! No such thing as being too wary.@@myunknownland9272
This was a great friend to my little sister, she was/is devastated when she found out what happened!
Leticia was a great friend to everyone ❣️❣️❣️ RIP Leticia, you will be greatly missed❣️❣️❣️
Just discovered this channel a couple of weeks ago and it is now a staple in my true crime channel rotation! The cases you cover and how you cover them is superb, dignified, and well researched. Thankyou so much for all of your hard work! Cheers 🥂
I completely agree his channel has moved to the top of my list..
Not to mention - sooo pleasant to 👂🏻 listen to! 😌
Ditto ❤
That coward took away someone that bought him food and invited the monster to a game little did she know she was helping out a monster. And the payback was to murder her and try to kill her son. I pray that coward don’t see the outside of a prison. Rest in eternal peace Leticia. She was a beautiful person inside and out. 💐🙏🏽 😢
Patrick the son is a true Hero ! God Bless him , thank you Kevin ❤️🙏🇨🇦
💯
It's sickening to imagine how she felt the moment she realized that the seemingly nice stranger she'd been so kind to is actually a monster with an evil intention.
Yep. Sometimes I don't know which would be worse though, cuz that recent video he covered about the wife/stepmom being offed by her husband (and possibly the stepdaughter) struck me as just that... how would she have felt in that moment?!?
🤘
🤘
Don't go anywhere with Stranger. Mosters everywhere among us.
This is so incredibly sad. She seemed like such a lovely giving person. What a tragic ending.
Once again many thanks Kevin for shining a light on these lesser known cases. And treating the victims and families with such respect ❤️
So sad and senseless. RIP, Leticia. I hope Patrick can heal. Thank God for the brother, the father, and all the others who stepped up to care for Patrick.
What a senseless loss of an incredible human.
OMG this story is horrific, my heart goes to Leticia's son, brother and entire family & friends... her kindness and generosity cost her her life. This man is scary and terrifying, he looks so nice and like the guy next door. It shows that one can never trust people he/she does not know, and even too often the one he/she knows.
RIP Leticia and be reassured that your son is loved and hopefully well taken care of 🙏🙏🙏
The epitome of 'no good deed goes unpunished'. Poor Leticia. And how traumatising for her son Patrick. What a brave young man. That scumbag found out what it was like to pick on someone his own size for once. I hope the family receive justice.
I have a Downs Syndrom child and that hits me. He's only 7yrs old but doesn't have a dad. This case is heartbroken.😢
If anything happened to you, he would be alone, except for extended family, or no? Good thing Patrick is residing with his dad in Texas.
@@joanodom2104 he would be taken care of by his grouwn up sister and brother who both chose to work in the medical field... I meant that he would be so lost to start...
If you’re able to..,try to show your Son ways to protect himself.
So WHERE did he come from???
I can’t count the number of times I’ve been overly trusting or kind to strangers it’s a reminder how not to be the kind person always … how many lives have been lost just cause someone was generous !! Such a sad story may her soul rest in paradise and her son have the support he needs
This is the kind of case that makes you wonder what’s the use of trying to help someone. She tries to reach out to a guy. She thinks he’s down on his luck and he repays her by murdering her. I know it’s just this case, but I’ve read too many stories like this, it’s a sad world we live in
I totally agree with you. I’m the type of person who tries to help people out but have realised, unfortunately, it’s not safe to do so.
Donations to food banks are down. I give to them.
I regularly buy essential clothes items for a local homeless charity as well as provide food supplement drinks which are equivalent to a meal which I have left over from what I’ve bought for my daughter and won’t be consumed before their use by date.
So true what a psychopath
stranger danger
🙏💜 thank you Kevin for sharing cases like this geez why do we even need to waste court time on it with so much evidence
You r absolutely right
Because those charged with crimes deserve their day in court. Even those cases where there is so much evidence, a guilty verdict sometimes isn't the outcome.
Agree. Certain cases deserve no court case.
First, my sincerest condolences to Leticia's son, Brother, family and friends. Rest in peace beautiful lady. 😢🙏
As for the perpetrator, for the sake of everyone, I pray he gets a life sentence.
Thank you Kevin. You always produce stories that haven't been shown a thousand times before. You do good work ❤
Amen to that!
I’m so sorry about your Friend. How is her Son doing? I hope he is well taken care of.
This story had many layers. U did a great job with it, once again. Thanks ☺
Let us hope that the correct sentence is handed down in this awful case, nearly two victims here and thankfully the lad was strong enough to fight him off, sadly Leticia was not able to, but by the look of his hands she did put up a brave fight. Justice for this dear lady!
RIP Leticia.
She was better off just ditching him because he likely began to behave weird! No one has to endure a weirdo in an attempt to be polite.
@@wsidechris, he'll get more time for the jewelry robbery no doubt...
I was wondering about that because Patrick fought him off and bit him...RIP Leticia ..I am thankful Patrick was able to get away...This Man should never get out...
He had absolutely no reason to do that to her. Like none at all. Just sad!
Oh my heart. Poor Patrick. He must have been terrified and so confused.
Thanks, Kevin, good presentation.
A perfect example of how sadly true it is that no good deed goes unpunished. 😢
Her son's 911 call got me so emotional. This story is just incredibly sad. Rest well Angel Leticia❤
Thank you so much for uploading this case, it’s new to me. My heartfelt condolences to family and friends of Leticia and Patrick 💟 R.I.P sweet Leticia☮ I have been with you J TL since the beginning, and love listening to your voice, and compassionate nature towards all the victims as well as the rest of the families. Much appreciated, for the work and research that goes with it. 🙏 Cheers from Australia *Melbourne*
Read my comment, it may shed some light.. the reason why I wrote what I wrote is because it comes with much experience and I am fortunate to be alive today
I think Brett was going to move into Leticia house
@@animallover4955That's a thought. But eventually her brother was gonna show up looking for her and Patrick.
RIP Leticia , I am happy her son is safe and I hope that criminal will stay in jail for the rest of his life ,You have a great voice and you are a very good narrator ,thanks for the video 🙏❤️
I just don’t understand why? Why hurt that woman and try to do the same to her son. It’s like some people just don’t deserve air. My condolences to her family and Big Shout to Patrick for fighting off his attacker and helping to describe him to police.
Wow this is a pure nightmare.
So sad for Patrick to have this traumatic experience. He’s so strong to have fought him off. For him to tell him he was trying to kill him”for his mother’s sake” is so sad. He must have been so hurt and confused 😢
It's a sad world when we have to be wary about helping a stranger. May Leticia rest in peace.🥀🥀🥀
Don’t u grew up by your parents , don’t talk to strangers
20years long criminal history and still able to walk around😢
Poor Leticia had no idea who she had befriended 😢
Long time true crime lover, only recently came across thjs channel. The narration and way it’s told is great!
Welcome to the channel…glad you found us 🙂
Love watching you channel grow 🎉👏
As usual Kevin, GREAT work!! Thank you!
Glad to see you growing!! Been here from the beginning…keep up the excellent work. Thoroughly enjoy ur channel!! ❤
Appreciate it!
This is so sad!!! You just can't be nice to people anymore...HIS EYES LOOK EVIL. GLAD HER SON IS OK.❤❤
In the mugshot (for THIS crime!) no spirit or soul is detectable😮
He has a joker smile too! Creepy!
What a sick piece of s-t! This woman does a nice thing for this man, and she ends up paying for it with her life! Then he goes after someone with a disability, and tries to do the same to him. I hope he gets what’s coming to him when he gets sentenced to prison! He’s definitely going to hell!
Thank you for covering this story. I remember seeing this on the local news.
I have just about hsd it with 911 Operators- Having been a social worker my entire life, I absolutely understand how awful, problematic and horrifying people can be. I can't imagine what a difficult job it is; but COME ON, this guy was scared and the operator's annoyance was palpable.
She didn't do anything wrong, but to trust him, what an evil person.
No way in hell would she have gotten in his car without a ruse. He probably said he was about to go and off himself, right away.
You’ve got that right @mangojuice8038! He’s an evil person; horrible and rotten to the core!
That’s why you don’t trust everyone and tell everyone your business. 😢
New subscriber ❤ Your presentation is fantastic 👏
I binge watched all his episodes!
Welcome to the channel Karen 🙂
One of the best. Straight to the point. Well researched. I love JTL
I totally agree!
Thanks Kevin for another great content poor Patrick and RIP Leticia
I need someone to stop me from watching true crime stories otherwise I’m afraid of everyone😰 how could someone be so wicked that he even tried to hurt the special needs son
And his own mother!
Absolutely heartbreaking This guy should never get out. Pure evil.
Wow a super nice lady winds up deceased and it all started because she bought this loser a hot dog what a shame. And Patrick if u ever see this your mom seemed like a sweetheart and I’m glad u fought back against that pos. I wish all good things for u 🙏
Excellent work , Kevin , as always. This case hit me hard! I’m the caregiver for my Aunt , she is special needs. When I heard the 911 call and he got so upset and said,” I’m sorry, I’m scared!” My tears started to flow!!! It sounded just like how my Aunt would react in that situation. I’m so thankful he was able to fight off this monster. I’m also thankful he has an uncle that can take him in. Leticia seems like an amazing, kind , hardworking woman. It sickens me that she was taken advantage of for her kindness !!! May she rest in peace. My sympathy to her family and friends ❤️🕊️🙏🏻
You sound like a wonderful niece! Just FYI, he went to live with his dad. Him staying with his uncle was very temporary.
I’m so early that I actually saw Kevin walk out, turn his camera on, and sit down.

Just pure evil. Glad her son was able to fight him off. I hope he has the true love and support that he needs to survive without his mom
Thank you for replying to my last comment n once again thank you for my favorite part of the week when there's a new episode for me on my day off 💪🏿💪🏿💯
All your cases are sad, but, somehow this one is especially sad to me.
I feel the same.
Agree.., 🙏🏽
He doesn't get to SAY he's not guilty! Those rights should automatically be waived. Makes me sick.
Me being suspicious & standoffish with strangers or new acquaintances beats being friendly & murdered in short order. Sometimes trusting & getting friendly too soon gets you in trouble, in this case, killed. Sad ☹
Excellent as always! Thank you.
Thanks Kevin. Extremely professional, as always.
This is sad😢. Poor Patrick .. I hope he will be taken care of like his mom did. Rip Leticia❤❤
As always, a very well presented episode
One of my favorites, let’s get to 200k! Such a great channel ❤
Wow Kevin that was quite the story. I live in Oregon and usually we hear everything in both Ore and Was. But I clearly haven't heard this one. Thanks for a great story.
Unfortunately, it is not a story. Cheers.
What a shocking story. It seemed like this man was trying to fill out his bingo card by seeing how many different crimes he could commit! Did you get the feeling that he was going to kill Patrick in the car and then leave his body near his mother? Her body was so close to where Patrick was left. My heart goes out to kind Leticia and her family. Kevin, you did a great job relating Leticia's story. You repeatedly added remarks about her compassion for others throughout the story and that was a very kind thing to do. It's not easy to narrate a tragedy with such grace. ~Caroline
That is something I would have never considered! Excellent theory, fellow sleuth 🕵
You are THE BEST true crime channel.
Thank you for covering this story as this is where I live near . I remember hearing about this on the news and didn’t get much information. I never knew he attacked her son either ! Some people are just truly monsters 😢
IT IS STUPID THESE DAYS TO PICK UP A STRANGER FROM ANYWHERE COSTCO OR NOT AND TAKE THEM TO A BALL GAME OR ANYWHERE.
It’s absurd to meet someone in Costco who can’t afford to buy lunch because it’s a membership only access store in the first place. Something is missing in the story.
He was stalking her maybe 🤔
I was at that game. I don't ever use the word ''eerie'' but it perfectly describes the way it felt seeing the photo of them together at the game, hearing about how she gave the ticket to a random person. Hoped for the best but worried something serious might have happened.
That hurt my heart when her son said I'm scared.
so happy i stumbled across this channel! It's brilliant!
Oh my god I feel so sorry for Patrick. He must have been so scared and confused. 😢 This guy deserves to be under the prison.
Thanks for the footage. Great job.
Praying the son is well.
why do people stick their tongue out when having a photo taken
Amen. It’s so weird ‼️
Rebellious...😂
To look stupid.
It is a red flag for me, weird and disgusting
Adult with IQ of a 6 years old. ?
Very common nowadays .....
Do Not trust strangers!!!
Shocking but she raised a king and warrior who survived nd help catch moms killer EXPEDITIOUSLY! She would be proud!
Not only did Patrick lose his mother and caregiver but that attempted murder sounded so frightening and confusing. Just walking around and not knowing what to do, maybe he was even thinking of his injured mother.
I'm a mom to a 10yo autistic boy. I'm SO GLAD Patrick was able to defend himself. I'm sure his mama would be proud!
Thank you for covering. I am from the Seattle area and this story was so devastating 😭😭😭
I hope there are updates to this tragic story and all the other ones featured on your channel.
This is heartbreaking, i cant believe he went to her house and got the son and tried to kill him wow just so crazy!!!
