No one has a clue what works. They are all guessing and writing books, doing podcasts and paid website memberships to make money off of it. It's always been about money. Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Juicing machines, weight loss medications, Ozempic, stomach stapling, gastric bypass surgery, , diet foods, Slim Fast, nut milks, keto snacks, almond flour, sugar substitutes, Dr Bright wants you to buy a paid subscription to her website to read scientific research other people did and she copied, protein powders, meal replacements, colonics, supplements, red light machines, macro calculators, smoothies, keto jerky, low carb this and that. It's all about making a buck off desperate people. Don't confuse the greedy entrepreneur with someone that cares about you. They feed themselves first.

Dr. Bright, Dr. Ekberg, etc. Carnivore, fruit and vegetables, etc. It would be interesting to see how they all determine the effects of nutrients and our health. This is a sincere comment. I worked with Dr Bright last year for a few months. She's impossible to work with in a meaningful way. She's condescending and belittles all other practitioners. I'm even a nurse and I felt like she was very demeaning and condescending to me as well. She also doesn't really help you learn why you're doing what you're doing. She just throws a bunch of information at you but doesn't know how to actually teach you to improve your health. The bottom line is that she doesn't care about you. I feel sorry for anyone else who wastes their money trying to work with her.

@@ThePrimal.Podcast Hi Rena I just discovered your podcast. I have had a life of not feeling well that started in early childhood. I am thankful to have found paleo. It gives me new hope that my physical health and mental fitness can actually improve. After starting to phase out carbs two weeks ago, I just went into ketosis the other day. Still in the tired keto flu stage but I may know why. Prior to starting the dietary change took a video of my live blood with a microscope. I had yeast and many rodlike pathogens in my plasma. I took another video yesterday and found the rodlike pathogens were reduced and my white blood cells were noticeably more numerous mopping up what looks like fungal forms. Seeing this I think It is likely that as the body consumes fat stores, it also releases many toxins that have been stored in the fat cells. The white blood cells then launch an attack on the toxins being released. This is one reason we make experience flu like symptoms when starting a paleo diet. A podcast showing live blood may help people actually see what is happening in the blood, as they make dietary changes. Thank you for doing this podcast. You are very professional and prepared with excellent questions to make the most out of your guest’s time, and the time of your viewers. Well Done! and Thank You!

Living off the west coast of northern BC I met a Haida fisherman who was harvesting the best edible kelp west of Haida Gwaii’s northern tip. I couldn’t get enough of it and my dog loved it too. I was seriously ill with undiagnosed AS & low iron in the bones… I was so stuck on vegetarianism via a 7th Day MD’s advice decades earlier! Positions loaded with ignorance can be so harmful & it was. I found carnivore when a Rhumetologist threatened my life with her forever drug life! Hippocrates spoke to my mind and I got busy doing food withdrawal to find Carnivore while telling my brainwashed brain the facts to get beyond my fabricated dislike for the smell of meat cooking & the slaughtering & blood.

You asked about when to take desiccated thyroid in relation to blood testing and did not get an answer: “Synthroid it doesn’t matter because of “ xxxx. Skipped over answer to timing before lab work and went on to blood pressure. Rather frustrating.

Most interesting connection I made here is with her ratios. Fat 80% and Protein 20%. I believe this is absolutely spot on. Years ago I found a paper about human breast milk and how the macro composition actually changes as the baby grows older. Newborn breast milk is high in glucose but by the time the child is 4 mums who are still breastfeeding their breast milk macros are:
    Fat 69-79%
    Protein was 15-23%
    Carbs was 5-7%.
Basically a mother's milk composition changed to suit her child's needs. I'm sure a 4 year old is similar to a normal person macro.

I'm pretty sure it resets with each new child to prioritize the newest baby. If a 3yo is still nursing when another baby is born, the milk resets to colostrum and the cycle starts over. The 3yo will consume the same "age" as the newborn.

My daughter, 41 yo now had "Graves Disease" at 12-13 yo. Doctor thought she had ADHD and wanted to put her on ridelin, we said no and found out it was Graves. Pedo endocrinologist said it was the worst case she had ever seen. She went on the drug to lower her thyroid hormone and then at 16 yo she had radioactive iodine treatment, only one time which shocked it into remission. She took nothing until her first child when doctor put her on levothyroxine. My daughter has been on antidepressants too since being a teenager, she had severe anxiety, panic attacks, I know it was her thyroid doing all this. It breaks my heart, she is having real weight and blood sugar problems and knows she needs to change her diet. I know she is afraid to do anything at this point, she doesn't want to try another way. I don't blame her, she's been through so much. Anyways, as a mother, I feel terrible that I only could do what the doctors recommended. I was scared to death watching her with Graves' disease, it's very scary to have. Thank you for the info, I definitely will be looking into your advice.

I have Graves Disease too. It really is scary, especially when you have to see your child suffer from panic attacks and heart racing. The radioiodine treatment caused your daughter's condition to switch from hyperthyroidism to hypothyroidism and I keep wondering which of the two is worse. But there is hope. My doctor is a thyroid expert and he keeps pointing out that even after thyroid removal or radioiodone treatment, taking natural thyroid extract (from pig or cow, but pig is supposed to work better) the thyroid can really grow back slowly. It works great for Hashimoto, too. He saw this happen many times, but healthy gut flora and very little carb is key. ❤

It isn't recommended that you start with a large dose; start small and work up. Your body may be trying to detox itself of bromide, fluoride, chlorine, etc. because of the iodine intake, which can make you feel awful. Some apply it transdermally. I am no expert. Do your own research.

Food is medicine I agree! I was a “eat everything including meat” kid growing up, turned vegetarian, then went on to pescatarian, then last year a holistic doctor got me trying full carnivore diet, that was when my gut health was entirely screwed, couldn’t poop for days in a week, and caused a full blown autoimmune disorder to erupt which caused me to be bedridden with car crash like of pain all over body! I felt terrible everyday when on carnivore diet, felt severe indigestion 24/7, I couldn’t even think straight. That’s when I decided to add back in AOT of cooked veg for the prebiotic to heal my gut and calm the inflammation, and the recovery was tremendous. I have also started slowly adding in some meats like fish and chicken, but for sure I will never ever go back to full carnivore! Yes we need the fats and protein, but to eliminate veg/fruits I don’t think is a good idea. try at your own risk people, from these hardcore doctors and gurus 🤷‍♀️

@@cguzman4340 With hypER-thyroidism you will likely be put on an anti-thyroid drug like Methimazole, as your thyroid is putting out too much hormone, which speeds everything up like your heart rate, etc., ...not too little. Dr Bright did mention this.
I had Hyper-T/Graves, and took Methimazole and it eventually settled down. But as time went on, I became hypo, and then thyroid hormones (T3/T4) were needed.
