I recently had elevated liver enzymes show up on a routine blood test, then got an ultrasound and diagnosed with fatty liver. Was referred for a fibroscan to check for liver scarring but was not told there was anything I could do to reverse it. Did some reading in the meantime and started keto immediately. Regarding tumeric, Dr. Gabrielle Lyon had on a gastroenterologist who said that a lot of people are actually harmed by curcumin/tumeric supplements that can damage the liver. I believe he said his theory is that it's supposed to NOT be absorbed because, by staying in the gut, it benefits the GI tract.
There's no money to be made in telling people how to be healthy. Plenty of money in selling people more chemical-laden snacks, breakfast cereals, sodas, and fast food.
This was a great show, right on the money. Sent it to my sister because sometimes she knows it all.... Or thinks. I did get her to finally go Keto but these type shows will educate her so she can make her own decisions. Personally, I am strict Carnivore.😂😂
My friend, Penny, would be alive today if she had this information. For anyone reading, here is her story. Penny did everything "right" to stay healthy. She never drank or smoked. She cooked all home-made food, and bought organic in a time when few people did (80s/90s). She never dyed her hair, because of the cancer risk. Lived in nature, and took long walks with her dogs every day. BUT, she didn't know about carbs. She was always heavy, but not obese, as are many people who believe the things we were taught. In 1999, at age 52, Penny was taken ill and died from pancreatitis. In a matter of days. She was my mentor, my older sister by choice, and spread love, laughter and light everywhere she went. I never knew anyone that disliked her. If Penny had known about ancestral diet, she would still be with us today. Save yourself, while you still can. We HAVE the knowledge - apply it. Penny would have wanted this, for every single person on the planet. Love & light to all, from Canada.
Thanks for the video, I am reminded here that I was diagnosed with fatty liver years ago, along with numerous other diseases. I have slipped from my 'eat to live' mentality and have been entertaining bread and sauces etc. This helps me get back on the diet and for good, life saving reasons why!!
This is so informative. Sometimes Even a nature path will not help with a fatty liver, I had issues with my liver and they just gave my digestive enzymes instead of trying to heal my liver. It will be very difficult to get a doc to want to approach the proper treatment for liver repair.
In the ~46 minute time frame, what Ken means by eat less CARBS to *stop* fat from accumulating in the body is that sugars are either burned in a short period of time after ingestion *or* it is converted to *fats* and stored in the body. The body converts some of these sugars to a *saturated type fat* for storing.

I’ve been keto since 2022. Lost >30 pounds with about 15 more to go. I still have NAFLD. In fact my enzymes have recently increased. I don’t use sugar aside from stevia, erthyritol, and monk fruit. I do eat berries though. Maybe if I cut that out. I think I’ll lean more towards carnivore as well to see if that helps.
In the Trim Healthy Mama way of eating -- you don't eat carbs & fat together, and when you eat either one of those you eat protein. This makes it possible to keep eating carbs, but of course not crazy amounts. They do suggest using non-carb natural sweeteners, a low-carb flour alternative mix (or sourdough), and stay light on known super high-carb foods, like potatoes, and rice. And rational balance on occasion is fine, too. Anyway, it's a great way to look into, really does work to reduce weight and help bodily health. :)
It’s a ridiculous way of eating based on nonsense Ur GI can handle carbs & fat at same time lol that’s not why carbs get stored as fat Totally irrational
Since I've had your gallbladder removed and also have high cholesterol should I still ingest butter and bacon? I was told I had non-alcoholic fatty-liver by the doctor who removed my gallbladder and was told to exercise a lot but I'm now wheelchair bond. Considering this, would using extra-virgin olive oil be better for me than butter?
I am also minus a gall bladder. I got off sweets (but not carbs) in January and just got my blood work back. All my cholesterol levels were normal--including my triglycerides, which have been high for some time. Olive oil contains fat like butter does, so you're not avoiding fat by making the switch. I haven't noticed that butter bothers me, but I'm not eating a stick of it every day, either; I only use it for cooking, when called for. But different things trigger different people. Caffeine is a trigger for my guts, which seems to be fairly rare. For my mother, pizza (high fat) is most likely to give her dumping syndrome (and is a common trigger among people with bad or no gall bladders). So if you notice that you have issues after eating something high in butter, like shrimp scampi, then you may not be able to eat as much as a carnivore diet calls for. Also, if you suffer from dumping syndrome frequently (i.e. eating and then needing to immediately rush to the toilet) and/or have regular bile diarrhea, then ask a GI about Welcol. It is a cholesterol medicine, but it works by binding (sequestering) bile and it will stop the dumping syndrome caused by too much bile hitting your digestive tract at the wrong time. I've been on it for years and it's a game changer. I take it and I'm normal. I don't take it, and I'm spending a couple of hours in and out of the toilet after meals.
If I could find a Dr as intelligent and easy to talk to and be open to not just taking a prescription for everything and be willing to actually help patients I would go regularly. But unfortunately I do not trust most doctors anymore.
I personally do not like the term Super Foods. To me that is a man made term and thrown around to loosely and it is a marketing ploy. When I talk to folks about diet I like using the term nutrient dense food.

According to Prof Roy Taylor at Newcastle University, if you lose weight the first place to lose fat is the liver, which happens remarkably quickly. The pancreas and other organs take longer, and the fat cells are last because they can store fat safely so there is no urgency. He has shown this with MRI scans. See his videos on UA-cam.
@@w1975b My body is rather dumb. I lost a lot of weight when I combined HIIT with intermittent fasting. But not from burning visceral fat - it was mostly lean muscle! And I had been assured that the body knows better than to touch muscle protein when there was so much fat lying around.

ICD 10 code is the diagnosis like "diabetes" or "insulin resistance" in other words, the condition or disease that supports the reason for the test. CPT codes identify the actual test i.e. blood count, hepatitis test, strep test, fasting sugar, indulin level. These codes are needed to show which test and why is it medically necessary. Every medical treatment has a cpt code and every medical condition has an icd code. They are used by the medical system for billing and planning and they are standardized.

I was diagnosed with fatty liver, and i am so desperate 😢 to reverse my diagnosis. Im finding it very hard to focus when my spouse doesn't believe in this diet. It's very hard to cook two different meals.
Keep watching videos from carnivore people, if you have the money consider joining a carnivore group that might offer more moral support. Or maybe there are free groups, I don't know. I think that will help you, though.
Due to an allergy blood test, it was determined that I am allergic to eggs, especially egg whites. I’m moderately allergic to the egg yolks. This was a problem years ago. It would make me very hyper when I would eat an egg. I had free-ranging hens & rooster, and ate eggs often. What to do? I am 66 years old with Lyme, autoimmune type issues that I have tried to stay on top off for years. The carnivore diet has helped me, but I sure would like to eat eggs.
I think a lot of the problem is people feel tired from pollution from bad food cell phone use bad polluted air from second hand smoke pesticides and because of this tiredness people want to eat sugar to give them energy when what hey need to do is get more fresh air move out of the city where there is less pollution quit smoking stay away from second hand smoke eat more protein salads and fats and no carbs no beer no drinking alcohol at all
With respect to Dr Berry, I have been told I have a fatty liver but my GP has told me to reduce the fat in my diet. You are saying the oposite. I love a cup of coffee first thing made from whole milk and double cream. do I have to stop this. There are so many contradictory messages. This is what is on the NHS website here in the UK. "eat a healthy diet - try to have a balanced diet high in fruits, vegetables, protein and carbohydrates, but low in fat, sugar and salt; eating smaller portions of food can help, too"
Dr. Berry is also a GP. Most GPs also think it's just fine to be pill pushers, because that's what they learn. The NHS info is essentially the same as what is touted in the US. It is wrong info. It's ultimately your decision who you want to listen to. Very likely you'll have pushback from your GP if you go low carb, high fat, cut out plants, because that's against what he or she has learned. Just know there's a lot of info and support for/from the carnivore community.
NHS food advice is hopeless, still based on old outdated ideas from the lipid heart hypothesis that we now know is false. Also, your GP has zero nutrition science training. They still think keeping cholesterol low is the prime goal. Wrong. The right goal is to keep INSULIN low. So yes it is confusing and frustrating. Do Cut out highly processed seed oils, like sunflower oil, and plant sterol spreads, those are the bad fats. Whole milk and cream and butter are good natural fats. The fat that comes with meat is stable, we need fat for our brains and our hormones. You got fatty liver from eating carbs/sugar, not good fats. Low-fat leads to diabetes and dementia. See the excellent film Fat Fiction for all the hard facts, it is on UA-cam. The website DietDoctor/low-carb/guides has loads of free info on Low Carb eating to reverse fatty liver and insulin resistance. Good luck to you.

Дорогая Рина, как замечательно, что вы приглашаете гостей поговорить не просто об общих темах карнивора, а по узким конкретным темам. Спасибо.
I follow Dr Berry on UA-cam and on a Keto lifestyle with intermittent fasting, and I learned a LOT from this talk. Thank u very much!

A very precise video. Gives good understanding in processing. Good teaching without blaming.
Dr. Berry has improved the health of both my husband and I. Wr will never eat plant based again. Thank you Dr. Berry.
I went out of my way to use fruit juice instead of soda because we were told it was healthier. Wow!!! Thanks for educating us.

Sorry about your dear friend. Yes I'm gong carnivore after years of raw organic vegetarian. RIP Penny
Thanks for the video, I am reminded here that I was diagnosed with fatty liver years ago, along with numerous other diseases. I have slipped from my 'eat to live' mentality and have been entertaining bread and sauces etc. This helps me get back on the diet and for good, life saving reasons why!!
Watching these videos is critical for me because I have a tendency to crave everything I'd I give in to eating one off plan item.
Shows like this are a God send. TY so much!
😮 I love and appreciate your podcasts! You do a superb job.
Thank you!
Thank you so much for your program. Very valuable information. Dr. Berry is very concise. Keep up the good work.

In order for Turmeric to be activated you need to add pepper to it you only need a quarter of a teaspoon of turmeric and a few shakes of the pepper shaker, it works best if you make a green drink and put the turmeric in there then drink it daily

I didn't do smoothies but mixed my multivitamin/mineral in fruit juice (no sugar added) and thought I was doing good. Nope, gave me fatty liver.

It’s a ridiculous way of eating based on nonsense
Ur GI can handle carbs & fat at same time lol that’s not why carbs get stored as fat
Totally irrational
Thank you for your hard work and dedication to sharing research and truth with us, your doing a good job and so are those who provided research as well, thank you for sharing this important information with us.
The body knows what's important :)
@@w1975b My body is rather dumb. I lost a lot of weight when I combined HIIT with intermittent fasting. But not from burning visceral fat - it was mostly lean muscle!
And I had been assured that the body knows better than to touch muscle protein when there was so much fat lying around.

Eating sugar aka processed empty carbs keeps you fat
Its counterintuitive based on the counterproductive conditioning of the low fat movement

I think they are referring to bacons that is uncured and nitrates-free

ICD 10 code is the diagnosis like "diabetes" or "insulin resistance" in other words, the condition or disease that supports the reason for the test. CPT codes identify the actual test i.e. blood count, hepatitis test, strep test, fasting sugar, indulin level. These codes are needed to show which test and why is it medically necessary. Every medical treatment has a cpt code and every medical condition has an icd code. They are used by the medical system for billing and planning and they are standardized.

The liver creates bile, very important for emulsifying fats, do not destroy your liver.
What does the gall bladder do please?🙏🏽
@@sprogellait holds the bile, allowing you to have enough ready in case you get a decently generous meal. That triggers the gallbladder to release enough bile to digest the fats properly.

What are the most healthiest fruits for people with fatty liver disease
