I wish EVERY emotional eater could hear this interview... instinctively I ALWAYS felt that if I ate only when I was hungry and stopped when I was full, I wouldn't have a weight problem... I also knew the reason I was never able to keep weight off was because I hadn't resolved my emotional eating... Dr Cywes explaining that carbohydrates bypass our satiety centre and go straight to our pleasure centre was a HUGE light bulb moment for me, I am soooo happy that I've 'stumbled' upon Dr Cywes, thank you...

I discovered you today through the "Sugar Addiction" video that you recently did with Dr. Ken Berry. I have been morbidly obese for the last 35 years, and I cried while watching that video because you perfectly described sugar addiction and why it happens and also gave me hope that there is a way to finally deal with this and become healthy again. Thank you!!!

Listen to the channel UNLOCK YOUR LIFE as there are helpful videos available. Also, Marisa Peers has fine videos. I had abuse as a small child and couldn't tell my parents, so I held it all in and bit my fingernails and I'd grind my teeth at night. Later in high school I began gaining wt. He's right that we have to deal with the emotional issues.

Yep steer clear of all those gimmicky things that people make to replace foods they used to eat, its only keeping you mentally hooked on wanting them. Just eat meat, fat and some veg if that's your thing, me I just stick to meat and fat because I find it works better for me from a cravings point of view, I don't crave food anywhere near as much when I stick to protein and fat, hence my decision to go that way and it's a simple way of living and boy do the cravings for other foods soon disappear and life becomes simple and you no longer get controlled by food!

    • @wandahernandez5002
      @wandahernandez5002 4 роки тому +10

Yes, i think that is my downfall. Starting now i will focus on fat, protein. I have noticed it helps me with cravings as well.

@@wandahernandez5002 Yes definitely avoid trying to replicate the rubbish you used to eat, it doesn't work for weight loss I've found. Keep it simple and uncomplicated for the most part is the way to go, every now and again make something you like in a keto version but don't make it a regular thing, simple is best.

LIPophobia and carbophelia? That is the best thing I’ve heard in the longest time! I simply love love Dr. Robert and how he puts these factual circumstances into layman’s terms.
I teach keto and carnivore, and this information, the way it’s laid out is going to be an enormous assistance to so many! The actual addiction to the drug Sugar and carbohydrates explains the American obesity rate and why Some can leave the life of this addiction and others will struggle every single day.

Been carb free for 18 months.

Simpler life as well since I only eat once a day and simple things only: Eggs, meat, fish and an occasional asparagus when in season.
Side effect: lost 55lbs from 195 to 140lbs at 5'11" and had to get all new wardrobe :)

Walks on the shoreline, reading, gardening, water aerobics, etc. Eating meat and vegetables was key to my vibrant health and life! I really like the way Dr. Cywes uses the term “relaxation event” for a bit of exercise. I hated having to walk the dog but now look at it as an opportunity to not only get exercise but I listen to an audible book while I’m at it. I actually look forward to doing my “relaxation events” these days and to listen to my stories longer, I walk longer.

Four years ago, after preparing to end my life, I found Dr. Peterson. His words saved my life. Now I'm here and I found you. Your words will extend my life. I took up yoga four weeks ago, and the meditation has helped me re-focus on changing myself inside out. I'm on my third day of keto, having listened to your instructions on how to sit and eat a meal. Whilst I know my psychology has something to do with it, it's undeniable what you're saying is true. I also noticed, I don't get the munchies when I smoke cannabis. Peterson would say that you are a miracle. I'm inclined to agree with him. Namaste.

I can associate with 99% of what Robert is sharing from his personal story. When I switched to keto, if there was ice cream in the freezer or bread in the cupboard, or leftover spaghetti or paella, it was also gone by the next day. Or at best, every other day. The cravings got better, but never really went away.
My relationships with my addictive best friends really changed when I went to basic 'meat and water' carnivore. I can still experience the temptation, but it stops there, and so far has not developed further into the cravings and bingings of old. So carnivore is here to stay for the foreseeable future.
And by the way, part of my relaxation events, part of my emotional management moments, throughout the day are my greasing the groove exercises for a few minutes 😉, together with a cup of coffee.

I so appreciate your work! And you communicate the carb addiction science so concisely. I have heard in your other videos "effort based emotion management system" - excellent term! FYI My husband and I have both lost 30lbs with zero hunger on carnivore (no veg) and though the weight is pretty stable, the shrinkage continues, thankfully. I had done Atkins since 1974 age 14 and low carb was much harder to manage than these last 8 months on carnivore. QUESTION: I get "bingey" eating brussels sprouts and other roasted veg (you said tell you if so). Roasting veg "caramelizes" them - maybe that's why. Would veg still be 'free' in that context, I wonder? Big thanks for naming snacking as an emotional event or brain break, and to make it non-caloric, very helpful esp. when working from home. Hats off!

No drugs, booze or women. Just me and the table. One day four years ago I stopped going. Turns out she had been praying I would quit, without telling me. And I quit, cold turkey. I loved this video. Thank you. I’m not sure if I’ll get a reply this late in the game but near the end when you say “if you don’t breast feed your baby and you feed them baby formula, that’s a baby milkshake. It’s a treat”. Please tell us what a mother is suppose to feed her baby if she can’t breastfeed? Thank you.

He is right. The problem is that there aren’t better options. There really is a gap in the market for a proper formula.

To satiety, when I first started LCHF eating I was absolutely amazed at the, I am full response. I would hit that wall, with food in my mouth, I could not even swallow what I was eating. My dogs love it. They would get a treat, even if was partially chewed. Great video. Helps sort out all the information/opinion overload on the internet, running around in my head. Ahh yeah the emotions… sneaky.

All seems great. I was wondering about controlling Uric acid as I have gout. So anyone watch the doctor’s video about Uric acid and gout? Which one is it?

I think it would be wise to look into the arguments of the leading authorities of the non vax camp before advocating for vaxines.
I did this when a question arose in my mind as to why do many gp.s and patients not want to report suspected adverse vaccine events.
If you dont look you wont see ,its as simple as that.
