I truly believe that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I break my fast usually at 5 o´clock pm and its usually the only meal I eat. Thats why it´s so important to me. I never eat in the morning because I´m not hungry yet. Thank you so much for your down to earth teaching. You are a legend.
Etymology ftw!
5pm breakfast
Yep, I'm break-fasting rite now, 6pm.
so you're probably an early eater. Both exist, and everybody should do as the body tells. I hate breakfast.... I guess you don't like diner? I LOVE diner.
I often tell people I'm eating breakfast at 2 pm. Their reactions are priceless ~ yours must be even more so !
I recently had a mini-stroke and was hospitalized for it for four days. The hospital would not let me have caffeinated coffee, a meatball sandwich, a hamburger (they slipped me an Impossible Burger instead!), and no salt for anything. I was allowed to consume carbs, processed snacks, sugary puddings, fruit juices, and soda. When I skipped meals they were concerned. Since my initial symptoms included nausea, the hospital staff assumed that I was still feeling that way, which I let them think that even though I wasn't nauseated at that time...except by their menu. I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone, but, I should not have been surprised by this.
It's disgusting that hospitals promote the SAD diet like this. Even DASH diets a d Mediterranean diets were not good for me. When will the medical profession (especially hospitals) wake up?
They have those so called dieticians formulating your meals in hospital. Go figure
They wont pay for decent food. They want to build up the patient with easy cheap carbs as fast as possible and get them out of there with a long list of prescription drugs, and see you next time. If you want a proper healthy recovery go see a functional doctor instead.
Sorry to hear you had TIA. I hope your body healed . I had TIA in 2019, similar story. I am on carnivore diet now. My doc wants me on statins.....What diet you are on now?
When my dad had his heart attack they gave him eggs and ham..... I almost fell over. Of course back then I thought that was bad for you.
Praying your doing better
I sent this video to 7 people who think I’m out of my mind.
It's 2020. Who is in their right mind
🤣🤣
Don't try. It's pointless. The government owns them.
I am out of my mind 2 LOL 🤣. I have to follow a keto carnivore diet, otherwise I would end up like my dad. Adult onset diabetes runs in my family.
@@robertcywes2966 2021 and here we are😉
Nothing my barely educated grandmother back in Europe did not know. Yes. We didn’t have Kellogg’s. We could get freshly slaughtered chicken, cattle organ meats, pasture fed eggs, farmer’s cheese, butter and locally grown vegetables and fruit in season. Fish caught in lakes, rivers or in Baltic Sea. There was nice dark dense bread sliced thin. We drank vodka shots but not wine by the bottle. Socialized after working. Only sick people took certain prescribed to them vitamins. We walked a lot. The kids played soccer, volleyball or simply horsed around until dark. Most people died in their 80’s or older.
No wonder my dad who was raised on a farm and drank moonshine lived to be almost 92🤣
Some can learn from teaching. Some require preaching. Preach it, brother, preach it.
*RePLace the 906 with an "r" !!!*
*Bullshit* is the medical word. :P lol Love that you're real like that
Pasture patties.
Cowpies. That's where Magic Mushrooms grow.
Cow kaka
Snacking is always an emotional event
So what?
Emotional eating and influenced consumption of crap food are one of the main reasons why our disease rates of the last century and health insurance is so high!
stop buying them then Jon
Not always. I had to add snacks to gain weight after losing a lot due to immunotherapy side effects.
I’ve been to many drs. In my 52 years and I have yet to meet one that spoke to me like you do. I wish I had known then what I am learning now and maybe I could have cured myself a lot sooner. Thank you for all that you do and for your blunt, yet extremely informative videos.
This is the best talk.thank you Dr..
Me too Lisa!
ABSOLUTELY AGREE!!!! MYTH!!!❤❤❤❤ADORE FROM ITALY ( COLLEAGUE ) 💪💪
I am omad and it works for me. Great info Doctor. Your info saved my life. Thanks.
I agree!!
i got sober off drugs, quit smoking, stopped drinking and i beat the final boss of carbs and sugar!!! (i guess we have caffeine addiction too) I just really feel so grateful that I enjoy health. I never, ever thought it could be me. you're absolutely right. fat bombs and almond flour crust is just feeding our minds and will make us relapse. carb addiction is no different from alcoholism. keeping it real, doc.
I love reading this comment!
Love your comment. Retraining our brains is a challenge. Sugar is so bag and I have struggled. Substitutes are just other paths going the same direction. Like you I wondered if it would ever be me. It is, today. 2024 coming on strong. 🎉
I have had no problem with fat bombs or low carb crust and bread. It is nice to have some variety. I use a CGM to track impact on glucose.
Wow you are a machine! Congratulations 🙌
Breakfast is the first meal of the day, wether it is eaten at 7am or 4pm. So everyone has breakfast assuming you eat that day
Breaking your fast, breakfast
BREAK-FAST 😊 GENIUS
Since I'm eating my breakfast between 1-4 PM With 18/6 or 20/4 daily fasting protocols, my body fat dropped form 19% to less than 10% between 2019 December and November 2020. It's all about food and to be more precise, about eating max 20g of carbs per day or less. Even if I trained 3x times per week High intensity interval training for years, my body fat didn't drop until implemented keto + IF. The rest are fairytales.
Medical word: Absolute BULLOX!!!!
Lol
Love your videos!!!!! Thank you !!!🇭🇺❤️🌿🌳🇭🇺
I want to thank you, not only have i lost weight and improved my blood sugar, the emotional aspects of your videos are far more important than doing Keto perfectly.
Dr. Cyews has always been an intelligent source of information. Watching Sten Eckberg, Nina Teicholz, Jason Fong and others I have come to realize that Robert distills the essence of their science. And he's not an infomercial. Breath of fresh air.
God Bless You Dr. Cywes, I am 72 and like other fans of yours I am getting more Healthy every day. Thanks for all you do for Man Kind.
Going keto was more simple for me than actually re-learning how to trust my body's natural hunger and satiety cues. I've found that the simpler the meals, the easier it is for me to know when I'm done eating. You just hit what I call the "taste wall". It's when the food stops tasting good and the thought of eating more almost grosses me out.
I always knew about “Taste Wall” but I didn’t realize that I knew it! Simpler is best, I agree. Thank you for the proper words!
Totally agree. My stomach growls but when I think about eating while on carnivore diet, the taste wall tells me "its lies" and I go about my day with no brainfog and with all the energy I need.
Carbs feed the parasites we've been fooled into believing only exists in the so called 3rd world.
@@joshelcartagenas6535Go about my day with no brain fog ❤️🤣👍
When my friends tell me that I ‘m going to get ill without breakfast, I will tell them ’GARBAGE’!! This video is lovely and easy to remember - thank you. It’s amazing how often these myths are totally believed by people who have heard them over and over again.
“BS” is your medical word! Ty for busting the myths...the lies!!!
SO thankful for a Doctor that is not afraid to be honest with patients.... Their bullshit is killing us... You rock, Doc!
“Bullshit” A favourite technical term in Australia. Excellent video!
The bonus one was an important lesson for me. Chasing the keto chips and cookies is like vegans obsessing over bacon look-a likes. It keeps you too tied-up in old habits. Once I could stop those habits I started loosing weight again. I can now willingly splurge on a keto “fat-bomb” as dessert at times but I stay aware that it’s a splurge on a pretty strict carnivore diet.
“Look-a-likes tie you up in old habits”. Excellent
Well said and I agree. I need to remove my look alike keto foods now. Like you, I have adapted my thought processes to recognise and hold myself accountable for making keto treats.
Perfect. Chasing taste-alikes keeps you too tied up in old habits.
Well said! I had to learn (the hard way!) to stop chasing the keto chips and cookies when I was following keto. I am 90% carnivore now. No more being tied up in old habits and look-a likes, those have to be a hard no for me, forever.
You’re awesome - - so glad I found you through Dr. Ken Barry
Bullish!t is your favorite medical term 😂
Definitely bull shit….lol
Hogwash? 😆
So South 🇿🇦 African haha I thought kak
And mine
Doc. This is the best summary talk I have heard on how we should exist ! Love your honesty and frankness. No nonsense ! Just like it should be ! Thanks for a superb presentation 👏🏻👍🏻💫👌🏼👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Garbage and BS are your favorite medical terms. Thank you for this video which reinforces listening to our bodies, not our addictions when it comes to food. I frequently follow OMAD and have found, as you said, that the later in the day that I eat, the less I crave carbs. Also, for me, that craving usually kicks in @ 8pm on days when I eat earlier. It's taken me almost a year to figure out on my own to eat later in the day to avoid that craving. Wish I had heard of your videos sooner. I could be ahead of the game now instead of catching up. Thanks again.
Balance?
@@Nduderhogwash!
Never too late to start being healthy
He’ s the “ no bullshit” dr! Love it!
‘Rubbish’ or ‘nonsense’ are your favorite words for medical myths.
The problem is these myths do make sense if you want to sell certain products.
The way you explain this is spot on, anyone with common sense should understand. It's basic physiology and we didn't evolve from the standard American Diet, we evolved by keeping our diet simple and natural, also I so glad somebody finally said it doesn't matter what time we eat. Seriously! Thank you so much carb addiction doc you're the best
So, is keto or carnivore better for a woman?
Thank you so very much, for letting us know eating late in not harmful. I'm one of those carb addicted people who get Hunger Horrors if my mind thinks dinner was not enough. I'm carnivore/15 % keto, feel fantastic! Sixty five and lost 130 pounds in two years. Watching the Doctors who help obese people on UA-cam, has been the start of lowering insulin used. I'm no longer afraid when my sugar goes below 100, thanks to you 😊
Working hard to bring my a1c to 5. I have gone from 9.6 to 6.3 - Endocrinologist is dancing and so pleased. She's now seeing me every 6 months, and has yet asked me how I lost this weight. Very grateful for all the dedicated Doctor's who are helping us on line 😊❤
Congratulations and know the momentum is with you. 👏👏
How about my Precious cat. I'm seeing advice for dog food but there are ladies like me that have our kitties
Absolutely. The night is when I’m my weakest.
Doctor, you have many great tips in here. Postponing most of one’s eating to later in the day helps with satiety. You are so right about evening cravings. Part of the cause of late night cravings is staying up too late. Early to bed, early to rise,...
clarity . . . I dig a good smackdown. This is my most favorite vid, ever. THANX . . .
As a T2, I’ve had the most success eating big until 1pm then not eating until the next morning. That gives me much better blood sugar numbers when I wake up. I just need to find stuff to do in the evenings.
Bonus point 11! Actually REALLY important and I am guilty as charged. My food cupboard is full of almond flour and psyllium husk (whatever that is?). Habit is a real issue for me. Need to reassess my ‘creeping’ bad habits and focus on, as you say, REAL foods.
Thanks again for a really clear, informative and motivational video. Yes it DOES help!
@Ton-gle I just made " keto" monkfruit cookies and bread....going to pack them up and bury them deep in the freezer..out of sight out of mind..
I bet you know this by now, but almonds have a huge oxalate content.Could damage your vascular system. Get away from almonds & peanuts, and almond flour, peanut flour.
This 20min vid could save peoples lives! Brilliant Dr Cywes
Well said! So true
As Chris Cooking Nashville would say, “Eat your meat, love your life.”
Great list! Thanks for keeping it real!
love your knowledge, attitude, frankness and advice. watched 3 of your vids and subbed.
Straightforward and excellent.
Grateful to have found this!
Been binge watching your content , it’s great thanks for all the information 👍🏼
This is very informative! Thank you for serving in this capacity Dr. Cywes!!
Thank you for existing! So many people need to hear this. Sharing this as I type. Happy holidays to you.
Thank you for all you do! My kidneys appreciate your comment about drinking too much water! 🦁 Not to mention the lion comment!
Mine too. I have tried my best, but my body simply cannot take anymore than 1.5 litres (6 cups per day).
Extremely beneficial! Thank you
Thank you so much.... I just needed a reminder of these things......you’re the best! 🤗
Just started using Redman’s salt. It is SO much more flavorful than regular salt! I even add a pinch to my coffee grounds before brewing. Enhances the flavor and tones down the bitterness.
I love your reassurances of my recent understandings - Thank you for your wisdom, I share your videos with my loved ones.
Thanks so much providing really beneficial information!
That was so good, I’m going to watch it again right now. Content and delivery fabulous. He’s a man of many talents.
I absolutely love Redmons Real Salt. Never realized that other salts would taste different than table salt, until I tried Redmons. Now it's all I use.
I didn't like the taste at first, but used in in my coffee, and now six months later I really like Redmond's.
I love it too! It's all I use now. I learned about it first from Dr. Ken Berry then he recommended Dr. Cywes. I love them both!
To me it tastes too strong. I prefer pink Himalayan
Love the straight talk with supportive rationale. I really needed to hear some of this!
Extremely helpful to have the misconceptions explained!!! Thank you!!!
I’m glad I found your channel! Thank you Dr. Cywes.😊
I needed this pep talk today! Thanks! I am 76 and doing very well on low carb keto
Amen, totally goes along with everything I've learned.
You are amazing!!! Telling it like it is without any fluff or gimmicks, Thank you so much.
thank god for docs like u & ken berry! ...yall are saving lives out here man! ...thank u sir

Powerful information. Thank you sir.

Thank You 🙏
Thank you for being who you are and helping so many of us Dr. Cywes
Powerful stuff. Thanks.
Wishing you happy holidays and thanks for all you fabulous advice you have been a lifesaver.
Thanks Doctor! I thoroughly enjoy your well informed and frank presentations!
"Carbohydrate look-a-likes do not belong in a standard human diet or Fatbombs." Great info Doc! Deep down my conscious was telling me this but I was hoping it wasn't so... I realized this because I use my peanut butter/ Coconut oil/ Ghee/ Monk fruit/ Almonds Fat bombs as a dessert and also as something to eat to relax to watch TV late at night. Lightbulb moment! I see I'm using this not to feed my body but my substitution ( and convincing myself that I needed the extra fat when I am actually eating for the pleasure). You are the best Doc at focusing on the psychological aspects of our diet and life's routines. Thank you Doc!
Thanks for this Doc
You are such a great doctor. Blessing.
Prof. Refaat
I love your passion for telling people like it is and explaining things in ways most can understand! Thank you!
You make me so knowlegeable, about correct human eating.
I am so happy that i have learnt.
Thanks Doc, as always, great info!
YOUA ARE A GREAT INSPIRING DR. KEEP UP YOUR FANTASTIC WORK. WE NEED PEOPLE LIKE YOU IN THIS WORLD !!!
Agree with some others in the comments, definitely amongst your best videos yet Dr Cywes. Great info for newbies and experienced alike.
You always come up with what I need to listen to 🦄
What a down to earth brilliant Doctor! Thanks for your courage.
I absolutely agree with you Dr. thank you for reassuring them.
BS and Garbage seem to be your favourite medical terms! Love them! Wish you were my Dr!
Ru south african? I once knew someone called Helen O'Reilly
@@robertcywes2966 Hi Dr Cywes, no I am originally from Ireland. Now living in California for the past 30 years or so.
I've lost 42 lbs. w/ keto, cardio and OMAD combo pack. Total kick ass approach.
One of the best video ive seen. Thank You
One of your better ones in my opinion. Thank you!
Word for the day: “wallet biopsy “
2 words lol
@@thakraken6995 lol! Phrase maybe.
That got me 2 😂😂
Technically a walletECTOMY ☺?
@@T-aka-T that’s the word! Brilliant!
Def B.S and garbage! Thanks for all your help! Lost 63 lbs since May and feel great. But it’s the addiction part and breaking free from carbs that make me feel even better. Happy New Year from Ontario, Canada!
So clear and easy to understand!
You are the best! Thank you for all you do!
Fantastic pearls of wisdom. I will listen daily to keep my motivation going. B.S. is sometimes said but always in the proper context. I love it!
I give this Doc a 💎 🔸️ or 2.
#2 was the most interesting to me. I’ve always thought eating right before bed was inherently bad, but this concept of not giving yourself that vulnerable gap to binge eat on unhealthy foods between your last meal of the day and when you go to sleep makes an incredible amount of sense. Thanks doc, great advice 🙏
I would say it is BS, better to eat earlier for you to get a longer fast
@@Sherukka Not really following your logic here. If you want a long fast you would eat OMAD, so the time at which you eat wouldn’t matter 🤔
@@robertroberts4764 We are not all equal, so our eating patterns differ, I can agree on that
@@Sherukka depends on when you break your fast. 16 hours is the same no matter what time you start it.
@@gt27312 But most sleep better if they start the fast early enough before going to sleep.
I love how thorough you are! I have some acid reflux issues that came to mind about the eating late topic but you covered that too 😅
'Wallet Biopsy'.... Brilliant! Thanks so much for all the knowledge!
This was so great really needed this. I have gone to weight watchers over 40 years off and on. I have a binge disorder and trying to get that under control. Any tips on that would be much appreciated. I feel like in the evenings I have no brain to think and I eat with no recollections. I have lost 89lbs and very happy with that want to lose more. Thank you for everything you do. BULLSHIT! My favorite too!
Helpful video! I would say that, for (recovered) diabetics, eating early in day can be helpful. I still fast 18-19 hours. From 2pm to 9am. I eat 2MAD and follow a LCHF/Meditteranean food plan. I get up early so eat about 2 hours after waking. Stopping at 2pm allows me time to digest and walk to burn off glucose from meal.
One of the best videos I've seen, thanks Dr
Wow, thanks for being so honest.
Jason Fung among others provide studies that show eating later in the day is inferior for weightloss. It does make a difference. My preference is to eat before bed but my fasting blood sugar is lower if I eat earlier. I agree that fasting at night is harder than fasting in the morning but it’s worth it for me
love Redmon Real Salt.
Always such sage information. Thanks for all you’ve done to illuminate the no [insert medical term here] way to regain control of our bodies. I hope you and yours have a Merry Christmas.
Thank you for this wonderful video
Hello Dr. Cywes. I love your passive-aggressive approach to explain things
