It’s always been like that forever here in Hawaii. Like used stuff for retail prices at times! And selling boutique! Rip off. They are getting these things for free.
I bought a duffel bag for $10 and packed it for a trip the next day I noticed a small zipper it was a pocket for a wallet/passport and when I opened it there was a envelope inside that had 33grams of 14kt gold charm bracelet it was such a blessing
Seriously?? Return it so they can sell it? Get real. It's not like goodwill was the owner lol it was donated to them. There is no way to get that back to the original owner.
@@BerkshiregypsyI agree on that one. Cause it would be cool if they knew the donator. But really nahhh it’s yours, and yeah they would have just sold it. You got a bonus. Don’t listen to negative.
An item like a charm bracelet is usually very sentimental to the owner and I doubt they knew it was in that bag. I am probably overly sentimental after losing the bracelet my Dad gave me in a flood a few years ago, but I would hope that if it was ever found someone would make the effort to get it back to me instead of thinking they were fortunate for having found it. I have found a couple of really nice jewelry items in my life and worked hard to reunite them with their owners.
💯! Goodwill got caught doing some Shady auction stuff. They raised their prices shortly after they were told they couldn't do it anymore. Goodwill does not do what it was supposedly made for. I am form8ng a similar charity resale and I hope tongain all of the Goodwill current and lost customers! So that I can actually help people
I agree about the GW pricing, and the structure of managers getting bonuses is BS, but the whole “their not a nonprofit is not true, and it is not owned by one person/family. I worked there for 9 months and researched a few years ago. If I’m wrong shoot me a link showing it’s for profit or owned nation wide by one person

11:35 That round drip glazed vase with the small opening is beautiful. I'd def have grabbed that if the price is right. Even if it's recent and mass produced, it's a nice home décor item.
I had an uncle that absolutely refused to get reading glasses lol. Instead he would carry this little travel sized magnifying glass in his front shirt pocket when he encountered something too small too read.
The last time I sold on EBay they held the customer’s money for 21 days after they paid. Then they told me it was because I hadn’t sold for a while. What kind of a reason was that?
@@Anna-sp9md The nurse flipper told me they do it to new people, I assume one time. They must also do it to us if we stop selling for a while and then start up again, I think.

Thank you Margaret for another great video. :) I have been selling very on and off for the last 20 or so years on eBay. I started out selling collectibles that I purchased wholesale. Back then the market was saturated. I did sell some but my sales were low dollar. A few years later I tried selling clothing. It was fun shopping for nice things. However, it was a lot of work laundering the clothing, steaming, photographing, listing, etc. I did not really enjoy selling clothing. I have sold jewelry from my personal collection. Then about 1 year ago I found your channel. That is when I started thrifting and reselling all kinds of jewelry. I just recently started trying to dip into thrifting other items. Because I am just getting my feet wet I am pretty slow. As with most things that I think might sell I have to look them up. Back in April of this year, I was looking at a signed Easter decoration. I picked it up and placed it back on the shelf. I was standing in front of it at my face height. A guy walked up and grabbed it from right in front of my face. He was talking about "here is $40.00 right here". At the time I was a bit miffed. But I learned a big lesson that day, always use a cart. I let it go, he probably needed that Easter decor more than I. 😊
Yeah when I was really into reselling my house looked like a storage unit. I quit for a while, got rid of everything and am now back at it. Mainly because thrifting is my favorite thing to do!
Get you a blacklight flashlight and carry it with you when checking dishes or any type of glass ware, if it glows its uranium glass and it does sell and another thing i have found out that sells is fishing reels just the reels is what has made me money.

Interesting about being suspended. I had no idea. Funny thing - the very first item I listed on EBay were a pair of beautiful Versace sandals. I believe I did net $400. Glad I was not suspended on my first sale. Since then I sold multiple high end designer items and never had an issue. They were all authentic but never bothered to authenticate them, they simply got sold.
I made a thrifting attempt yesterday and the Karm thrift stores in Tennessee are also charging high for stuff. We're talking 7.99 for a mass produced glass vase that lists for $10-15 on Etsy type pricing. It's insane. Surely they don't think the collectors who buy online are going to travel the country to find what they are looking for at these thrift stores?! I could only get three items that might be worth the risk. I don't have capital yet. My BF helped me out. (I'm out of work right now due to chronic illness making me unreliable in normal work. Going to try to make money off of multiple side hustles but it's taking me time to get set up.)
@@dittohead7044 I know, but given that what they are selling is stuff they got for free or purchased cheap in bulk thrift distribution lots, it's bad business, as it slows sales to a crawl. I noticed the same thing here at the Goodwill in my town (Kingman Arizona). But while in Oceanside California the thrift store there had good stuff at very inexpensive prices.
I did eBay for 10 years, me and my mom would go to Goodwill auctions were they auction big boxes of miscellaneous items. We never left without at least one or two good items sometimes still in the box. I even started ordering items wholesale from China I would always put of course that items weren't original. I understand now that it's not a good idea because China can use toxic materials to make knock-off goods. So I stopped doing that. I also stopped going to Goodwill auctions because the prices were so ridiculously high for one box. Goodwill also started their own online auction site so you're not going to find good things in the store or in the auction boxes anymore plus you count gas, shipping materials, shipping prices for some people, it's not worth it anymore. But I'm extremely grateful for the skills eBay has taught me. We were able to pay off her house just from selling off of eBay
Yeah Goodwill is a bust in my area. They keep anything of value for their online stores. But most senior citizens centers have thrift stores and I've done well there!

Hello Susan wise
Alaskan here and I am much in the same boat here. Not much to pick from and very hard to navigate the shipping and selling part of it all.
I am so afraid to sell fragile stuff, how do you make sure it doesn't brake or chip in the shipping?
You gotta check the teeny tiny vases too.
Love that gravy boat...💙🤍💙🤍💙...

New Sub just now! I had no clue you had channels up and going!! I remember your pretty face from watching one of Juans' videos a few days ago when he had just gotten the storage unit! Small world! Nice to have found your channel! Take care! Peace to all...💜🦋💜
Some great info and tips, thank you 😊
I just received a David Yurman ring off eBay. I own some of his jewelry. Well the ring is made out of some type of cheap metal that you can’t even put on it scratches me. The seller keeps trying to refund me half. I don’t want this fake ring. Will eBay step in?
