Having headers is a must on the RAM, because they are known for breaking bolts on the original stock manifolds (aluminum expands differently then steel). Not only that, but increases horse power. I have a 2019 RAM 4x4 and will be adding these modifications on purpose. Will probably also add an all aluminum intake as well.
Jason Nystrom my buddy said he felt a bit more responsive he had the headders and dual exhaust don't the same day on the ram.. he has noticed it's getting better fuel mileage as well. I plan to omega tune my f150 I can't be letting my buddy beat me haha lol
I’d like to see the same race but with a 2018 F150 5.0 weight reduction and a significant hp increase. Your 14 is pretty sharp. That generation is probably my favorite style by far.
The ram stands 0 chance at beating a 2018+ F-150 5.0L without some fairly serious modification. The 10-Speed/5.0L combination is insane, they will run door to door with 10-Speed 6.2L Silverados.
Ted sims yea man I cant do it . I had a 3.5 eco as a rental and it was stupid fast but just isnt the same without the rumble. But guys with 10 speed 5.0 with tunes are fast the 2018s . Once I get my diesel back together I'll get some races with the big boy

DOHC engines can rev higher than a pushrod engine so that’s why the smaller 5.0 makes just as much HP as a HEMI. Though the HEMI shines with better torque especially down low thanks to its higher displacement and large valves 👍
You needed a better track and start from stop and let someone start the race off. Clearly that Ram had more tuning than the F150. A regular tuned F-150 and regular tuned Ram would be a comparison. Want a rematch. Didnt like those race.
Both engines are close HP/TRQ from the factory. I've been in an F150 with MBRP exhaust, Chipped and cold air...screams and shifts hard, not like that F150! no Headers!!!

Dodge cars like Challenger's when equipped with a manual do have 391s but yes your right , the trucks get 392 s but some are 321 and don't come out of the hole. I have an 18 sport with 392s but with the German zf 8 speed . And it really takes off . It tries to spin even with traction on . The 8 speed allows you to keep the engine rpms up between shifts. Close ratio. I can say this it's an awesome tranny smooth quick shifts .
Just depends on what you want really... a "REALLY fast truck" that will smoke all of your buddies, but sounds like a straight piped camry, or a "great sounding truck" that your wife would definitely enjoy 10 times more despite the fact that it's a little slower. Boils down to preference my friend👌🏾
They tow fairly similar. I know the race wasent overly fair just kinda did it for fun as the ram has a few mods there my f150 is basically stock besides some cosmetics. Also I have came to a conclusion that gearing is really everything mine has a 331 gear it is the highway gear with the 7600lb towing capacity although it pulls good it wants to sit low rpms. The ram has a 391 rear and is rated for 10k towing now we pull the same trailer like we will go away atv trip and take turns on who drives. The hemi loves fuel and. Overall it comes down to preference imo although my buddy has a ram he is a ford guy and next truck most likely will be a ford lol.
The full exhaust and lower gear on the Dodge makes all the difference in this comparison. The exhaust and intake alone are a gain of about 30hp or so in the F150, so its got to be good for that much, or close to it, on the Dodge. The Dodge's slightly lower gear ratio just gets you up and moving that much quicker. Stock for stock, these trucks are pretty even against one and other during these years when similarily euqipped, with the slight edge going to the F150. The Fords didn't start getting really quick until the 2017 model when they combined the lighter, 13th Gen aluminum body redesign, to the reworked the 5.0L and added the A10 trans. Now, it's literally not even close between the two trucks. The new Fords are FAST...really fast!!! Mopar has really got its work cut out for them if they expect to close the acceleration gap in 2019. We shall see.

Your best money spent at this point is going to be on a tune. Don't worry about the bolt ons. A good after cat exhaust is all you really need. Your truck makes good power as it is, but a little added timing, reworking of the drive by wire system and firming up the the sloppy stock shifting of the 6R80 all done through a good held programmer will turn it into a different truck. Give 5-Star tuning a call...they'll get you set up.

Yea man but remember the ram had full exhaust and headers but really we were about neck and neck I let off I have the 331 gear so he had the jump with 391s in the ram but I feel they are fairly equal in speed my fuel wheels are very heavy tho so that makes a differance

Every vehicle owned prior to this had a built in safety where it would shift before hitting the red line. That was if you were to accidentally put it in that mode it would drive but like similar to sport mode

You have no idea what you're talking about. That Ford is a steel bodied truck ''Pre 2015'' and being a 4X4 crew cab it weighs nearly 6000lbs, the Ram is the same configuration and has a similar curb weight....4600lbs, The fuck you smoking? You can barely get a 2WD Short bed single cab that light.
Unfortunately, the older 5.0 F150's were not that powerful/fast. For 2018 that changed. Big difference with the 2018's, alot more real world power as has been shown on the dyno, plus the 10-spd trans. They will leave Hemi's in the dust. It will be close off the line but then the 5.0 will just start pulling....it's a beast on the top end.

F-150 KING OF TRUCKS they don’t make half ton rams with 6.4s. Only 3/4 ton and up cam option out the 6.4 hemi.
