I paid $23,994 for my ‘13 Ram with 11k miles. Nine years later I had to change a front headlight bulb. That’s the first thing I took off of the truck. So happy with my purchase. New trucks cost way too much.
I was looking at a '13 ram with 250k miles for 14k and it got headlights, tails, wheels, back bumper, rims, tires, and side mirrors. I just got a 2019 ram 1500 today and I cannot wait to have my 8 year old right next to me in that jump seat like where I used to ride with my dad in his F250 with bench seating……..I wouldn’t change my center console for the world! That seat was one of the first things I noticed and pointed out to my wife.
Just got a 23 Ram Tradesman. I had to choose between a Ram v6 bighorn with the big screen or a 5.7 Tradesmen with a small screen. I figured upgrading the screen is easier than upgrading the engine lol. Glad I found this video
I picked the 2018 Ram Tradesman v6 quad cab at 60k miles, with the chrome and towing packages, paid $23k. Upgraded from my 2006 F150 XL 4.6L single cab. Paid $5k for it at 3 years old and 42k miles. Both have vinyl floors. This electronics upgrade must cost half what I paid for my new truck, and more than I paid for the whole f150. I've bought the parts I need to put the f150 back to essentially usable.. front suspension components, plugs, coils, injectors, misc other parts. All of $500 for the parts. It should be good for another 100k. I hope the Ram lasts as long and is as repairable... but upgrades are ridiculous.
As someone who has just done all these plus a full black leather Laramie dash pad and heated/cooled seat conversion on my tradesman’s, it’s soo worth it, I’m waiting on my custom shifter so I can finish installing the business console, g56 and manual transfer case with a business console is going to be awesome! Gas gauge cluster is awesome since I don’t want that useless def gauge anymore
Any way to see this install I want to do the same to my tradesman I feel like the consoul with 4x4 manual shift is the hold up on the Laramie seat swap
I’d love to see someone take one of the up fitter switches and have it change tune levels. 4 little leds to dictate level. Or even split between two of the switches.
So happy someone made this video and talked about all the considerations. I really wanted to do this to my truck and had no idea about all the brackets and panels that’d be smart to get with it
only issue is your new cluster is from a gas truck. so no DEF gauge. if its deleted cool, if not you will always be guessing if your gonna go to limp mode or top off every 2 fuel ups other than that great stuff.
If you find that gas cluster doesn't work for you, I'll take it off your hands if you need to sell it. I got a 2014 2500 Outdoorsman with a 5.7. I went the 10 inch NavOS radio route which works well too.
Awesome how to video. So glad now I bought a 2015 Laramie to start with. I held out until I found the right truck and got a good deal on a slightly used truck that I love until this day.
I cant tell if this is the gas version or the cummins version but if its a diesel I hope you realize that cluster is a gas burner cluster. different rpm ranges.
If you have the 6.7 Cummins you should think about the bolt in the grid-heater that could break off and go into the engine (35,000$$) to replace. And for the unfortunate that have the 68RFE transmission you will need a valve body eventually due trans fluid migration. Yes I have both 2013 . I did install the idash super gauge and pedal monster F$&k !!!!! The truck is alive !!!!
@@intruder217ESmith just looking to see which should be done first. The grid heater bolt failure or the 68 rfe transmission that’s on the truck. Looking at 6000$ to remove the crap these manufacturers do ,to comply with the criminals at the EPA.
@@scottcampbell2585 DO THE GRID HEATER DELETE. I got lucky when mine went and only had to replace a piston, valve and do some head work. While I was there we did the Banks monster ram intake horn, boost tubes, BD header, ARP 625 head studs and I already had the fleece cheetah Vgt drop in turbo. The cool thing about the Monster ram is it has a grid heater delete but you can order it with a plug heater to keep cold weather starting easy. Just remember, your transmission is gonna need a build regardless of what happens. But if that little bolt decides to break, there is no telling what it’s gonna do in the engine, could be an “easy” fix like a piston, or a whole motor replacement. 👍🏼
I completely agree about once you have the steering wheel controls it's nice to always have them in all vehicles haha my 03 was loaded but my 04 was a base model crank windows and etc and I bought a third teuck another 03 and stripped it for all the loaded features and put them in my 04 so both of my trucks have all the features they could possibly come with😂😂❤❤
I have a 2018 Tradesman and would love to do the console but my 4x4 is still the lever in the floor. So that’s out. But about 4 years ago, I did do the 8.5 radio with nav and CarPlay. Also steering radio controls, bed camera with LED lights, Remote start, and auto climate control, just set the temperature,it does the rest. Love the gadgets. Would like to see your instrument panel on and working.
I just bought a 2024 Ram Tradesman knowing I didn’t like the radio. I’ve looked everywhere for a touchscreen like my son has in his Ram 2500 but a 8.5 inch screen. I haven’t had any luck the dealer parts department says they don’t sell them. I finally went with a Sony and the resolution was terrible. I ended up with a Kenwood which is better but in no way compares to my son’s screen, his I can read without my glasses which I can’t do with this Kenwood. Where did you buy yours.
Idk about every one else but diesel prices are ridiculous in my area 10k plus over book value. There's a couple 2010 Laramie 2500 Ppl are wanting 40k for.
My 2018 Limited KBB vale is 9-11k more than what I paid for it 4 yrs ago. Prices are still high for some trucks but are coming down generally for your run of the mill trucks.
Last summer, I paid $38,500 for a 2018 2500 SLT Cummins, with just over 100K and in immaculate condition! Compared to other 2500 & 1500's I looked at, I didn't think that was too bad. Now have133K on it with no issues!
I guess it would all depend on the cost of the parts and being able to DIY because literally taking the Tradesmen towards the Laramie level can’t be cheap and most likely you’re better off finding the trim level you want instead of upgrading it. Other than cost, I think the video is entertaining and overall ve informative ! Cheers 🥂
Not even close. I’ve went from a 2012 outdoorsman to a longhorn full interior for $4000. To price that out on a truck it’s an additional 12-16k at a dealership

I added push button start with remote start. Looks like you have the factory fog lamps already? I added them to mine. I have the manual transfer case shift and would never go to electric so no center console for me. I did the entertainment center upgrade as well and I'm going to do door panels and leather the seats. Disconnecting them is always smart. First time I did a tahoe airbag recall I left it connected and bumped the switch on the bag. That was a nice punch in the jaw with a dash board😂
FANTASTIC VIDEO!! wish I had the money to do this swap but fact of the matter is ill never get the return on investment especially considering my truck has 112k miles on it. The steering wheel controls are backward with Dodge, ill never understand why they put the volume controls on the right and not the left. The whole point is if your right hand is tied up you always hold the wheel with your left and having the volume controls further from the knob rather than 6 inches away makes a ton more sense. My wifes Durango has them and we never use them.. The amount of work to put those buttons on there in my opinion is just not with it unless there is a way to flip the controls around.

Just stumbled over this video, great job! Love the conversion. Have you ever upgraded to electric pedal controls? I find in this generation of RAMs the factory pedal position is tiring my feet, it feels uncomfotable in my seating position.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who caught that. I guess really, it's just a Tach and no DEF gauge, I wonder if the rest of the lights function correctly.
I have a 2005 dually 5.9 and was wondering if the grid heater bolt is known to be a problem in that year. My truck has always fired up instantly cold or hot weather so I don't really need it and I'll do anything to lower EGTs.
Have you ever created ceiling ac vents for the back seats? My kids get extremely hot back there and it would be nice to have overhead vents to blow ac ( they are in rear facing car seats)
First time here.... and assuming this truck is deleted since he went with a gasser EVIC without a DEF gauge???? I changed out the EVIC on my 2018 RAM 2500 and purchased the "Limited" trim version. In my opinion - it's the nicest EVIC of them all. All-in-all... vry nice upgrades for sure. Great video!!
Cool, I have the same truck but it's an SLT with the luxury package. I have the jump seat but everything else is upgraded. Cool project, maybe some day I'll do that.
Could a center console and radio console swap like that be done on a 2008 3500 ram? I've been searching around for a way to upgrade radio and dash, but haven't found anything I like yet.
This is a great and much needed topic. I'm so glad you videoed it. I'm really considering doing this. My nav and radio typically don't work. Did you install a new head unit with a navigation system in it? Thanks again!!
I like the center console addition, what is the part number you need in order to get that upgrade? I have a 2019 Ram 1500 Classic Crew cab and I want the center console. Thank ou, Joe G.

Hey Greg, In this video you talk of a Ram truck goldmine of a wrecking yard for Ram parts. Can you tell me the name of it please. I am ready to do some upgrades and part swaps on my 2017 Laramie
Question. I change my cluster from a diesel to gas. Now my miles to empty dont read right. On full it shows 215 miles to empty. It should say 600 miles to empty on full tank. Thats what the diesel cluster show. Any idea on how to fix this problem?
Sorry if I missed it in the video, about what cost would be looking at for materials and install for this? I'm looking at a 2018 3500 Big Horn and may need your help... I'm in San Clemente
have a 18' 2500 Cummins with a 6 speed manual and been wanting to do a center console up upgrade but can't bc the front sticks to far out with the cup holders an will get in the way of shifting in to the lower gears
2 questions and 1 comment... GREAT JOB and super well done. If you do this for a leaving, where are you located and also what is the price to replace the center console and the Screen/Radio portion. With that I will be very happy. I have a 2018 1500 express with HEMI 5.7 gas / Please confirm / Thank you
Where did you buy the parts from? I have a 2017 Ram 1500 LED lighting! The passenger rear signal indicator failed, I called Dodge dealers in the area to purchase a new OEM unit, DAMN they started at $458 and had prices quoted as high as $475. So I'm wonder how much all of this work is costing you to upgrade? I went aftermarket we will see how it works out. I got both rear units for 1/2 of the Dealers cost for 1!!
What’s the wrecker you used? I’m in Alberta. I’m the process of doing this swap and the wrecker I’ve been going through can’t get the right parts together no matter how clearly I explain it.
I have a thing going for new trucks but the cost is madass. I tried to upgrade before now but the night edition I see flying around $83k seems like something I'd go for in a couple of months say 3 months. I've had this ROI dropping off some $23k per month for the past couple of months now. That should get me the night edition
Were the connectors inside the steering wheel already there for radio switches you added? I changed mine in my Sport 1500 when the weirdly both went bad at exactly the same time but they were already there so it was just pop out the old ones, unplug, plug, and pop the new ones in. Did you have to add or change any cables for the upgraded radio in the back of it?
Radio controls on the steering wheel are a good thing as I cannot use the radio dials nor the a/c dials and the power port in the console due to a blown fuse which I have yet to find. Supposedly all the fuses are in the fuse box. I've found that to not be true. For one the fuse for the radio is under the hood but not in the fuse box.
Can you send me the links too all the parts that you have put on for the higher trims cause I just bought my brothers 2016 ram 2500 and want to upgrade it

I wish you had spent more time showing the install steps for the airdelete switch panel upgrade. I ordered one after watching this video and need to install it but not exactly sure how and the instructions are kind of vague. I cannot find a video on youtube for installing one either.
The best way to upgrade your RAM he’s either to sell it and get something else or never buy one in the first place. Between Kim and lifters transmissions brake problems. They are a maintenance nightmare, especially if you do not have an extended factory warranty. Even then it’s a disaster because they have your truck more than you have it.

I noticed that too! I guess he's deleted the DEF and doesn't need that guage?
I'm glad I'm not the only one who caught that. I guess really, it's just a Tach and no DEF gauge, I wonder if the rest of the lights function correctly.
I have a 2005 dually 5.9 and was wondering if the grid heater bolt is known to be a problem in that year. My truck has always fired up instantly cold or hot weather so I don't really need it and I'll do anything to lower EGTs.
Sir, whats the upgrade or link you for the upgraded of the radio? Thanks
I've been searching around for a way to upgrade radio and dash, but haven't found anything I like yet.
where can I find those parts?
Hi nice job. just 1 thing though did you just put a gas console in a diesel truck? How will that work a bit confused about that
Dawg this is some talent.. i wish i could modified vehicles like this. So dope! Enjoyed the video
This is a great and much needed topic. I'm so glad you videoed it. I'm really considering doing this. My nav and radio typically don't work. Did you install a new head unit with a navigation system in it?
Thanks again!!
Great video, Could you please share the name of the place where you found the used items that you're installing in the video? Thanks in advance.
I like the center console addition, what is the part number you need in order to get that upgrade? I have a 2019 Ram 1500 Classic Crew cab and I want the center console.
Thank ou,
Joe G.
Did anyone notice it’s the gas gauge cluster and not the diesel? 7k rpm range and no DEF gauge, no diesel marking on the fuel.
Where is this mega Ram/Dodge truck parts yard you speak of? Im looking for a limited interior for my '12 6.7 cummins i just need the door panels and center console as i already have a loaded laramie interior.
Gonna need some new valve springs and push rods to utilize that new tach
I was just wondering why he got the gasser dash.
Hey Greg, In this video you talk of a Ram truck goldmine of a wrecking yard for Ram parts. Can you tell me the name of it please. I am ready to do some upgrades and part swaps on my 2017 Laramie
Minton motors
How much did you pay for the items at the salvage yard? Just looking for a reference point. Thanks for the video.
Man, I have been looking at those center console you removed from the truck in your upgrade. I like the idea of the extra cup holders.
I've been looking for the one he put in lol
@Travis Chapman I have the G56 transmission so I can't use the type he stuck in. Lol
I have a black leather laramie jump seat if you wanna trade
@@wCONRADclark shit man, I maybe interested in the jump seat. You got instagram?
That looks amazing, so much better, I would love to update my interior on my 2010 Laramie to the 14-18 Laramie interior it looks so much better
Just a tip carry a little strip or square of mattress foam topper to set your glass on. not bare on a metal box😢
I like the console. You consider switching to a console shifter or dial too? I know it would be a bit more work but would be nice.
where did you get the center console? I have a 2016 and aftermarket radio already. am getting the start-x remote start kit. would love the console
Why the gasser dash and not one for the diesel? I also have a 15 Cummins tradesmen and am planning on doing the radio and dash.
What are the rims/tires you have on there and how many inches is that lift? Lift kit used if possible? Looks Spectacular..!!
Production years for 4th gen ram is what 09 to 12, then 13 to 19? Can you get full interior from like a 15 and swap it into a 09?
enjoy your video, so at 24:00 your removing the diesel cluster and replacing it with one from a gasser! how'd that work out?
Question. I change my cluster from a diesel to gas. Now my miles to empty dont read right. On full it shows 215 miles to empty. It should say 600 miles to empty on full tank. Thats what the diesel cluster show. Any idea on how to fix this problem?
Where did u get everything to do the swap? Interested in doing the same thing
Sorry if I missed it in the video, about what cost would be looking at for materials and install for this? I'm looking at a 2018 3500 Big Horn and may need your help... I'm in San Clemente
Those are way cool upgrades, but seeing those old trash seats go back in was sad.
Why go through all this hassle when you're allowed to buy the higher trim line?
have a 18' 2500 Cummins with a 6 speed manual and been wanting to do a center console up upgrade but can't bc the front sticks to far out with the cup holders an will get in the way of shifting in to the lower gears
If anyone knows what cluster model is that?
Can you send me the links too all the parts that you have put on for the higher trims cause I just bought my brothers 2016 ram 2500 and want to upgrade it
Felt straight out of NJ in the driveway video 👍
Can anyone tell me where to find those rims and tires???
How much did the parts cost?
The video would really benefit from some side by side before and after shots.
Thanks for the content!
i noticed you went from regular HVAC to dual zone climate control. What all did you do to get that working?
I have a 2012 ram 2500 with the 6.7 Cummins. I would like to upgrade the cluster like you did. Where can I find a cluster? Also I would like to upgrade the grill as well. Is there a place or website you recommend?
I found a 2016 Ram 1500 Sport, Crew Cab, Hemi, 4x4 w/ only 35,000 miles. The previous owner put a TON of money into modding it out. I’m HIGHLY considering buying it, but it’s a 5 hr drive. You guys think it’s worth it? Asking price is $30,000.
I have a similar truck like this Cummins
What kind of wheels and tires are you running on her .
She’s so pretty!
And is it with a leveling kit
You had it that far, the full rubber floor swap would have been better. So easy to clean.
Love what you have done. I have a 2013 tradesman, Was Wondering on the 4 speed Fan to 7 can you buy without radio ? I have a linkswell t- Style that will work on for 7 speed fan . !
I wish you had spent more time showing the install steps for the airdelete switch panel upgrade. I ordered one after watching this video and need to install it but not exactly sure how and the instructions are kind of vague. I cannot find a video on youtube for installing one either.
My ???? Is how much money do you save by doing all this later?
Hi, thank you for the information. I got the same cluster, but doesn’t fit on my 2012 ram. Do you know if have any way to adapt it? Thank you.
My check engine light is on. It is a P0740; something about the torque converter In transmission What do you recommend?
Thanks
Brady Scriber
My dad has a 4th gen Laramie 2500, I was trying to figure what the lower set of switches was. It’s heating and cooling for seats and steering wheel.
I'm looking at this upgrade as well, do you know does the radio need to come from a diesel truck to work in mine?
Where did you purchase your auxiliary switch panel replacement?
Hey there, do you have MOPAR part numbers for all of these upgrades? Specifically interested in the steering wheel radio controls. -Thanks
Very cool video !!! I was wonder if you could swap in a power drivers seat without doing too many mods to the electrical system.
Yes you can I added Laramie seats in my slt gotta run power to the red wires on big plug
Video of that?
Hello friend, I have a truck, the same where can I buy or where do you do that kind of work? Thank you
So many better stereo options than factory Uconnect models, in looks and performance
I myself haven’t found it so. I’m on my second after market radio and the screen doesn’t come close to the uconnect in my son’s 2500.
That cluster came out of a gas or diesel? Because I didn't see the DEF guage.
The best way to upgrade your RAM he’s either to sell it and get something else or never buy one in the first place. Between Kim and lifters transmissions brake problems. They are a maintenance nightmare, especially if you do not have an extended factory warranty. Even then it’s a disaster because they have your truck more than you have it.
i would love to know... i have a 2011 slt will a laramie interior.... leather seats door panels was wondering if anyone knows if i can put a 8.4 inch radio in it with the existing wiring harness?
Quick question when upgrade radio do you need a different module or just plug and play?
Where is this ram salvage yard?
