Ram vs F-150 vs Silverado race: • 2011 F-150 vs 2012 Ram...
Dodge specs: 2008 Ram 1500 quad cab 5.7 Hemi V8 4x4, stock 3.92 gear ratio, stock 5 speed automatic with 3:1 first gear ratio. Stock 20x8 wheels and 275/60R20 Goodyear SR-A. Stock suspension.
Ford specs: 2011 F-150 super crew 5.0 Coyote V8, canned 91 octane tune, 4x4, stock 3.55 gear ratio, stock 6 speed automatic with 4:1 first gear raio. 20x9 Moto Metal 951 wheels wrapped in 35x12.5 Toyo Open Country MT. Rough Country 4" lift (4" in front, 2" in rear - sits level).

Bigger wheels and tires are certainly countering the F-150's tune and slowing it down closer to un tuned performance.
How about racing a 2009 hemi instead of the older one ☝️ then it should be a fair race especially when your in a 2011 f-150

I love the dodge ram cars, theyre huge and nice. In Brazil theyre not common. I used to play "Midnight club 3" as the RAM srt10. Love that car.

It looks like you're gearing let you down. The long gear ratios and Mercedes dumb idea to put "2" 2nd gears in the 5 speeds . The main 2nd gear is used when going from 1st to 2nd gear and the 2nd prime is used when the truck kicks down. So on the 2nd race it dropped to 2nd prime which is 1.50/1 instead of 1.67/1... Car and Driver did a review back in 2004 where they said the Ram hung with the titan (The fastest truck in the test) until shifting into it's tall 2nd gear.
josh lowe Yeah, that whole design was pretty lame. The 8 speed is a huge upgrade.

Do the Fords know that they’re racing? Haha. Not sure man, she was mashed to the floor the whole way. Granted the Ford did have tune and exhaust but it also had bigger, heavier tires with lower rear end ratio and a lift. The 5.0 is a good engine, I think it probably makes a smoother power curve instead of just peaking at a high number. He has better gears now, so I’m gonna see how he stacks up to my ‘19 Ram.
Tony The Truck Guy the only thing done to my truck is a 40 series flowmaster. It spins a lot more than that dodge too. I feel like my dodge would put up much more of a fight for that ford🤷♂️

I had a 2007 Ram Hemi only thing it had done to it was Superchip programmer with my personal tuning drop-in K&N filter and a 40 series Flowmaster dumped right past the cab two wheel drive and there was no gas motor and it's class that could touch it I was keeping up with Cummins diesels with bully dog and powerstrokes programmed usually beat them so if you were to get the same Parts I promise it would be a different race
2wd makes a huge difference though. A few hundred pounds lighter and less driveline power loss. Me and another guy in the comments here were trying to figure it out because he was saying the same thing as you. Only difference we could think is that his was 2wd. But mine also did not have exhaust or a tube so I’m sure that helps as well.
@@TonyTheTruckGuy it must be cuz I raise the limit to 1:40 and it would run 137 but it got there pretty damn quick all the way to 120 so the falling off at 70 I never had that problem
Dodge took it but keep in mind that the f150 has heavy wheels and lift which brings its weight up

That Ford with all those mods didn't really prove to be much of a fast truck, to a stock ram.
It did have pretty big and heavy tires plus a lift with stock bearing though. We did a rematch after he regeared against my 2019 Ram and the results were basically the same as this, only the Ram one this time. I have a video on that as well.

To be fair, the 5.0 revs higher and has DOHC. They do pretty darn well with only a 5.0

Yes it had a 91 octane tune. I mentioned it in the video but forgot to list it in the description. I believe it was just a canned tune though, he never actually worked with a tuner to get a custom tune.
Lift or Leveling kit on that F150 ??
Bilstein 4” lift front coil overs with 2” blocks in the rear. It actually squats just a tad so he’s getting add-a-leafs.
Check out Charger19681988 on UA-cam, he has a few videos with the truck at different stages of its life.
I actually just messaged him and he said this is actually the setup: RC 4” lift. Brought front up to about 5” in the front though. Replaced stock rear block and replaced with 2” lift which is 1” higher than stock block. Giving 3” rear. Then put Bilstein struts up front and it lifted another 1”. Now adding 1.5” worth of add-a-leaf.

With the 93 octane tune I can squeak tires going into second gear

Nobody I know currently has a new Silverado, but I will if I get the chance. I do have an older video between my 2012 Ram, this 2011 F-150 and a 2012 Silverado.
