As much of a dodge fan as I am, I cannot agree more that the rebel couldn't compete with the raptor in any possible way, if the rebel Trx wasn't just a concept, then the raptor may have some damn good competition

I like the mean lean muscular design of the Ram than the blocky design of the F-150

I like everything about this truck except the storage under the seats. I need a flat floor and I'm not crazy about the fold outs. Otherwise I like the interior more than the other big 3 and the ram box storage is pretty cool.
Are you on crack!! The presenter says the Ram Rebel is "their equivalent to the Ford Raptor." In no universe is the current Rebel the same as a Raptor. Maybe if the Rebel TRX ever comes to production it would be, but as is it's not even close. As of right now the Rebel is equivalent to an F-150 sport FX4. Check your facts before you make such statements.

Yeah there's no comparison at all between the two. The Rebel is a wheel and tire and shocks package, the Raptor is a purpose built truck that even has its own powerplant.

Driving Sports TV no it’s not the equivalent. RAM doesn’t make an equivalent in the 1/2 ton section, so saying that it is equivalent based on the current portfolio is a completely inaccurate statement. That would be like saying that a Z71 Silverado is equivalent to the raptor because it happens to be the most off-road worthy truck that Chevy makes in the 1/2 ton section. The only competitor that RAM makes to the Raptor is the Power Wagon because the Raptor is Fords’s most off-road worthy truck and the Power Wagon is RAM’s most off-road worthy truck.

I drove a Dodge Hemi truck for 2 weeks and Ford F-150 and I preferred the Dodge for the following reasons.1. The Hemi v8 beat the Ford V8 in sound and power. 2. Ford was lighter and doesn't have a truck feel. It was more like a large SUV. The Dodge feels like a solid truck and its quiet and well mannered.3. It's just more fun driving the Ram.
Granted the plastics in the Dodge could be improved but it's the truck of my choice

Maybe because you need to haul and tow stuff? I have 4x4 but have never used it, complete wast of money. It's an option which is the way it should be. Your average Kenworth and Peterbuilt don't have front driven axles because it actually lowers a trucks capacity.

I agree I especially think limited slip should be standard ! Why would anyone not want limited slip i've seen them on the boat ramps without limited slip pathetic ! Another thing about Chrysler products or RAM I have the lifetime unlimited warranty on both my 2008 it has 330,000 miles and is still under warranty my 2017 I would not of bought it without it !! I put a lot of miles on a truck I don't worry about the mileage thank you Chrysler and I've had very few breakdowns none serious !
What other manufacturer offers lifetime unlimited warranty NONE !!! I have a 2008 Dodge truck 330,000 miles still under warranty very few breakdowns still under warranty even my brake pads and rotors or lifetime from O'Reillys thank you Chrysler I just bought a 2017 and I would not of bought it without lifetime warranty !!

The Ram Uconnect system is better than the Sync system especially comparing 2013 model systems when the Uconnect system was first available. Simple well layed out plus you can control the air conditioning and heating controlls from the head unit.
I like my Ram Rebel Black. I do wish it had CarPlay though

I'm contemplating buying a 2 year old ram 1500 big horn 5.7 . I absolutely love how they look. I am a ford guy and would consider a f-150. I dont like the looks of the ford near as much. Here is my problem. I'm a bit nervous to buy a ram because everyone I know who has owned dodge/Chrysler/ram products, have all had bad reliability. I want to keep my truck for the next 15 years. So has anyone had good long term experience with ram?
Well...I have a 07 ram 1500 with 150k miles. Interior was basically shit. Everything was falling apart in there lol. But as for everything else I’ve been one of the blessed ones. I haven’t had any problems 🤷♂️. Just replace spark plugs and oil. Basic stuff. I recently bought a f150 and love it. Nothing compares to the 3.5 ecoboost. Rocket ship on wheels. If you’re looking for something long term I would go with f150 with a 3.5 ecoboost.

There isnt this big price difference in the 2 trucks unless you go to The F-250 or the low priced XL or STX trucks. Like for like they are almost identical with the massive 12-15k discounts you get on these trucks at the dealer. Ram you just get more on the low end of the 2wd over the Ford. Hope this really helps people.
Ram needs to come out with a new model year. Even the 17s are looking dated because they look the same as the 13s basically. Don't get me wrong it's a beautiful truck. The Ford is more of a work truck with it's bigger box and more rugged body and frame while the ram is more of a daily driver. I'm still looking into getting myself a new ram sport here shortly.

The Rebel isn't a direct competitor to the Raptor - it's meant to compete against the likes of the Chevy ZR1 and Ford FX-4. You're the first auto journalist that I've ever seen that didn't think that the Dodge has the nicer interior compared to the Ford. I took a F-150 for a test drive and took a Dodge Ram Sport for a drive and chose the Dodge 4x4. I liked the look of both, and I liked the larger rear seat area of the Ford better but the price point of the Dodge was a few thousand lower, I loved the interior in the Dodge more and yeah, I loved the sound of the Hemi way more than the 3.5 Ecoboost even though it has a lot more torque. Personal preference at the end of the day.
Did Ram get EPA approval for 2017 EcoDiesel in the 1500? Not that I am aware. I don't think they have sold any in 2017 with the Ecodiesel. If you want a half ton diesel you might be able to get one in the 2018 F150 before Ram is approved. Time will tell.

Stay away from that eco boost crap that ford has. The carbon build up from those direct injection engines are insane. The ford also has pretty cheap interior. Go with the dodge. It has better interior, rides better, and sounds better. I like the looks of both trucks.

While Ram isn't a horrible brand, the Ford is still a better built truck. They out sell Ram almost 2/1 and while Ram has incentives that drop the price by 11k, I am still going to buy a new Ford this weekend. I have driven both, they are both good in their own way, but the Ford is just a better riding truck with the features Ram doesn't even offer. At work we have 22 trucks. 10 Fords and 12 Rams. All the drivers like each of them but prefer the ride of the Ford better. We replace the Rams one year earlier than the Fords. Both brands have V8's.

I love you fanboys that sit on here arguing endlessly about how your personal favorite brand is better than all the others. At the end of the day these trucks all offer great performance and only differ in certain areas. It's all a matter of personal preference as to which one you choose to buy.

2:23 of course it doesn't make that sound, the package of f150 you are reviewing isn't a v8. Even though the eco boost will whip the ram's ass. Dodge just puts a good exhaust on their truck so people get distracted and wont realize how shitty the other components are.

Ford is just so damn boring. Design, driving experience, everything. And they think their trucks are worth way too much. If you're spending that kind of money, why not get something with a little bit of fun and the added cool factor designed in? If you spend $47k on a 2WD Ram Sport, you're a sucker. Got my 4X4 for just under $40k, added the 2 inch lift and leveling kit, bigger actual truck tires(first thing you should do on any new truck, the factory tires are junk) and got me a damn nice truck for well under $45k.

Ram doesn't offer a locking rear diff on the 1500 (only on 2500 Power Wagon).......big fail in my opinion. Everyone else do except Ram

RAM trucks split from Chrysler LLC (which later became FCA) and is its own subsidiary of FCA with nothing to do with Dodge anymore. Please do your research...

I ❤️my 2016 ram big horn! My husband has the 2016 f150 and every time we go for a ride my neck hurts, and the ride is bumpy! The F150 is an awesome truck but I prefer mine better!
