I have to say this is the second time I've listened to this video. 2 months ago I got sick with the flu for the third time this year and while I was completely bedridden again fighting dehydration I was craving coffee. I had been sick for 3 days unable to keep anything down and yet still had coffee on my mind. I heard your words in my head and took it as my opportunity to see what was on the otherside of my coffee addiction. I am sleeping better, I think I have better focus, I know my anxiety and racing thoughts have decreased and overall I feel better.... although I still very much miss my morning coffee. I make matcha instead to have a warm morning mug. Thanks for the push to see the light ☀️
Whahooo!!!! I am celebrating with you! I love that by saying no to something it is helping you show up better in your life. That is amazing! Same I miss that morning coffee sometimes, but I wouldn’t trade it to feel so free and have less chaotic thoughts. Way to go Molly!
I started drinking Dandelion Carmel Nut tea. I buy it from Amazon. It has a coffee flavor with out the caffeine. I had a friend tell me once the thing you’re struggling to give up the most may be the thing you need to give up the most. And that was coffee for me at one time. Now I enjoy that tea or a Matcha latte a couple times a week if I need a caffeine boost.
Wow, that was a smart friend and glad you have had victory over that issue. And wow ok you are the second person to tell me about that tea. I need to check that out
Way to go! That’s great. As Christians I do think people don’t take coffee/sugar addiction as serious as they should. Thank God for freedom in Christ! I switched to decaf most of the time and drink a lot more tea since I bought an electric kettle but I am fine with drinking regular coffee as I want a couple times a week without it controlling me. I would be interested to stop coffee for a month to see how mouth health might improve.
I think it’s so wise to not be a slave to anything because I believe that’s what so many of us have done with coffee. I have one cup in the morning and the rest of the day it’s water and sometimes a hot tea at night. That has not always been the case though. Thank you for sharing and encouraging us!
And YES sooo thankful to be free from that addiction that was bossing me around. Love that you have freedom to have one cup, sounds like you have some good healthy boundaries.
🎉 congrats! Week two no coffee and even less tea and it’s trickling into better food choices and more movement. Listening to your body is so important ❤ thank you for sharing!
YESSSS Celebrating with you! I think just saying no to ourselves when something is hurting us seems to give us power and confidence to the same in other areas, so I love that you are seeing healthy choices come out of this ❤ AND thanks for updating me. Makes my day!
@@girlteachme I know it sounds cheesy yet also am smiling more and looking at the big picture instead of what’s in front of my and getting anxiety. The peace is truly rewarding. Appreciate you sharing your journey 💜
Try London Fog tea - game changer & so delicious. You need organic Earl Grey tea and after steeping that you add a little vanilla extract and you make separately some warm milk foam and add it on top of the tea. Amazing & so much better than coffee! 😋
Wow Serbia, love that we can connect so far away. And I think you are not alone, sooo many of us struggle, but if you want to quit I know you can friend ❤️
addiction is when you know that something is bad but you can't stop. so if you enjoy coffee then that's O.K but if you feel addicted then it a sign to stop. warning you might get withdrawal syndrom
Still drinking coffee 1 10-12 oz cup in am but am not getting satisfied like I use to. I put collagen in mine I know I need to cut back on the coffee as my tongue health is the same as you mentioned. I know it’s possible to stop as I had to as I had a huge aversion in 1st-2nd trimester of last pregnancy. I ended drinking v8 energy as my nausea was so different. Don’t have much advice but know the power of prayer and fasting will allow God to do amazing things in your life .
I wish I had seen your video when I decided to stop the coffee about 1 1/2 years now. I am in my late 30s and I have suffered from ezema and a sensative stomach and arteritis most of my life..arthritis only the past 10 years. I also fell into the rut of loving my cup of joe and being a slave to it. I realized it more when I also went on vacation and was worried about where my coffee shop was located and how early I had to beat the line. I had coffee mood swings. I did switch to mostly chai with oat milk and vanilla. I even make a homemade a latte chai powder mix. But I do cinnamon tea and a loose leaf black tea with cardamon and a loose leaf green tea with jasmine lately. Funny thing happen when I stopped coffee. My stomach got healthier! No more pain in my gut. And I can use my hands in a repetitionouse way and not have debilitating pain like I used to. I also got rid of my ezema for the first time in my life! I wonder if the chia ingredients helped... many have inflammatory and gut health benefits like ginger, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, cardamom, black/white pepper. I stumbled on a Barbara Oneal's UA-cam video on Arthritis and she talked about being able to reverse arthritis with the foods you eat, making your body less acidity and more alkaline. She mentioned your stomach is the only part of your boby that should be more acidity. So caffine was on her list of more acidy. I know I still drink tea and thats caffine but my body was telling me coffee was hurting my stomach and may causing me to have too much acidity and maybe triggering my ezema and arthritis. So I stop the coffee. Wierd thing is that after a year, I got some decaf coffee and drank it straight for like a month.... and my skin started to feel itchy again, my ezema was being triggered, but how with decaf? My sister suggested it may be that I'm allergic to the pesticides on the coffee beans and to try and experiment with organic decaf next time. For now I stopped the decafe all together and the ezema subsided...its gone! I'm not sure if I will pursue the organic decaf experiment. But my mental health, my gut health and my skin and bones have never been this great... and it all started with giving up coffee! How many more people would benefit if they tried it! Thanks for making your video and reaching people with your experience. ❤ Keep going!
Wow that story is really powerful! I love how you realized that you were hurting yourself with something you felt enslaved to, but you took that hard journey on and on the other side is some healing and relief. I think we all know those one or two things we are doing that are hurting us, the people we love or just holding us back and it feels good to know we are not powerless to do something about it. But yes I agree it helps so much to have others go ahead of us and tell their story so we know it is possible. Hopefully someone reads your comment and says ya know, "I am going to give this a try bc I don't feel good." Thanks for sharing friend!
I quit coffee 3 weeks ago when I had to get a tooth pulled and decided no more as I am heading into an Invisalign and Braces Journey for 2 years. I also at the same time quit chocolate and sugar. So I have zero addictions now, except maybe carbs 😂😂😂
Thanks for sharing your story. I got to about 4 days of reduced caffeine… trying to get off the coffee and having black tea.. but by about day 5, I still felt soo fatigued, even though I was sleeping soo much. Any tips? I like your comment about having as much black tea as you like. 🥰
I believe you may be feeding your addiction by still getting caffeine through the black tea. Try to taper down that too. And no colas/Mountain Dew, no energy drinks, nor green teas, and perhaps not even chocolate. You will love rediscovering how life felt like when you were a child, when you’re completely freed of caffeine. I thought bodily aches and pains, and migraines and horrible hunger pangs, and a foggy brain were related to the aging process, but no, it was related to caffeine! And I only drank one cup a day before I quit caffeine cold turkey. Caffeine had been ruining my life without me even realizing it, because the negative effects always kicked in hours after intake, so I didn’t make the connection. And I had never had any problems falling asleep after coffee, and that is what everyone always complains about… Good luck with quitting, I am guessing you will love it! It gave me a new life anyway. I wish I had understood the harm it was doing me already when I was in my twenties. 😢
I think I might want to quit coffee but it’s so hard. I need to make a plan. I know this completely different question from the whole video. But I heard you mention kids and cavities. What are doing for your childrens oral health and keeping cavities at bay ?
Sorry I am month late responding, ok for cavities I found a more homopathic dentist in the area and she had me try to give a 3 hr break for the kids between food or drink besides water, also if the cavity isn't too deep toothpaste with hydroxappetite can be helpful, something like this...amzn.to/3KYp4nA
Sure, you’re coffee free, but NOT caffeine free! The excitement you display regarding your many black tea drinks gives away that you may still be addicted… You speak really fast too, like you’re hyper for no reason, not a good sign. But see it as a tapering down of caffeine, if you later maybe want to save yourself from the more hidden negative effects of caffeine, like disturbed REM sleep, heightened risk of osteoporosis in middle/old age, etc, etc. I quit all caffeine, cold turkey, perhaps 50 days ago. And I am not going back to the daily habit, although I have tested if I can make little exceptions once in a blue moon when celebrating my children’s birthdays and so on. And I have from these tests become aware of how just a little bit of caffeine gets me “off balance” about 6-8 hours after intake, every time. 10-15 grams (just a square or two) of dark chocolate gives me a proper, really bad, hangover the day after. I LOVE chocolate so I tried it again about a week later, and again, utter misery some hours later after a tiny bit of dark chocolate. And the other day I thought I was drinking a cup of herbal mint/lime tea, when I half way through felt that something was “wrong”, and I then realized that it was a green tea with mint and lime that I was drinking. About 8 hours later a mild headache appeared… I could fall asleep no problem, but the “off”, foggy brained feeling took almost 48 hours to go away. So now I just have to accept that I can’t be an occasional caffeine user. And that scares me actually, that caffeine is that poisonous to me. There should be warning texts on the packages, even on tea and chocolate, honestly.

Battling with coffee addiction myself. Thank you for the great video. Regards from Serbia ❤

Yes I agree! Fasting and prayer I think is really KEY. Love that you mentioned that!
