This length looks great on you! Love your videos!
Thanks for keeping your channel uncomplicated! Greetings from the west coast of Canada!
Haven’t seen you in ages, nice to see you pop up on my alerts. I used to plop when I started learning it. Then I found it was quicker to just get my tshirt and gently squeeze/scrunch out the excess water with it. Then move straight into diffusing.
Like someone else said, I found that as my hair got longer it could also end up making the back a little funny too - but this is a great easy explanation as always and I think try it all. See what everyone likes. And decide what hat suits you.
Ah! I've always wrapped the neck and sleeves round the back of my head, wrangled my hair into the body of the t-shirt (standing in the bath post-shower) and tied the sleeves.. it ends up being more "stuffing" than plopping.
Curlie Suzie saves the day again! I will definitely do it your way next time. I find myself declaring this a lot after watching your videos. I even have improved my house plant care.
Also, you have the BEST intro on UA-cam. I just love it. 👌🏼
I just love your videos!
I hair plopped for the first time and OMG what a game changer for me!! I got beautiful waves and curls. Thanks.
I’m so glad you tried it 💕
loved it
Thanks. I’m following your air drying tutorial and not fighting with my hair anymore and it looks so much better too. Easy peasy so thanks again. And now I know how to plop too!
Hi Susie, loving your videos and so glad I came across you! My hair is exactly like yours. Have had my hair short most of my life, but always hated it and never felt confident. Never knew how to grow and style my thick hair (did once, but flat ironed every day 😢). But after finding you, decided to try growing curly, I had beautiful ringlets as a wee girl! So, 5 mths in now, from very short hair (needed a cpl of trims for shape) and my ringlets are starting to form, I can't believe it! Unfortunately not the best weather (Scotland) but if I get past these bad mths that wreck my efforts, by summer it mite be great, thanks to you! Finally finding my curls again, thank youuuuu! ❤ x
Plopping always messes up the back of my hair. I watch in hopes that I will see what I’ve been doing wrong.
Me too. My curls on the top and sides are fine when I take the plop down - in fact, the flop helps my kinda lazy curls to shrink up more. But the back section just gets smashed. I end up having to brush it out and re-style it. Maybe it’s bc I have awkward length layers?
Is that what's messing up the back of my hair?
It's because the hair at the back is streched up like in a high ponytail no matter how you do it. So the biggest part of it is going to be straight. Better to just take the same t-shirt and scrunch the water out the same way as when scrunching your hair with your hands. Much quicker too and you'll see emediately how the curls will form and are able to avoid kinks and parts that won't curl. Plopping is always a disappointment to me. The back all straight with a flat backhead and the curls in the front all messy and kinky...
I’ve not had any good results with plopping. There hasn’t been one time, that I haven’t ended up with either a wonky looking back, or hair twisted out of place on the sides that get tangled. I started micro-plopping each side separately.
I'm thrilled to see this. I literally just thought I was doing it wrong. Ha! It's not just me! (I mean I could be doing it wrong but I'm not alone 🤣)
I Like The Hairstyle!💕
I use my husband's old tshirt. I open the bottom, put my head in and grab the side at the back of my head to bring towards my face. I then twist the t-shirt and
Thanks Susie

@@aileenryan8726 You guys are all too sweet :)
Thanks so much for this video! Do you use product before or after you plop on wet hair?
How about wet ploping, can you explain to us?
and tuck in the ends. Very fast.
Anytime I hang my head upside down to plop I get knots. Then I have to brush it out which causes me to lose my curl clumps (waves). This causing me to eye my hair down again to scrunch it back. Is that normal or am I doing something wrong?
You might need a trim or haircut to reduce tangling
Detangle in the shower with plenty of product. Some people use a wide tooth comb to help (start from the bottom). Once you've gotten the tangles out use either your fingers or wide tooth comb to comb the hair away from your head, gently separating the huge single mass of hair as you go. This helps reduce tangles and weird clumps when you flip your hair back over. It could be that you need a trim like the last person said, but it's more likely the hair needs more encouragement to find its friends and point in the right direction. My fine hair has tons of tangles if I'm not careful. It takes practice, but it gets easier.
Also, I detangle with my head tilted to one side, fewer tangles for me that way 😀
If you're conditioning, detangling, and rinsing upside down you shouldn't get tangles - the problem usually comes if you've had your head up the "normal" way and then try to flip the wet hair upside down for the plop.
Hey there! :)
I blog about wavy hair and I am working on a blog post that will share a bunch of wavy/curly social media accounts, blogs, youtube channels, etc and their hair type. This idea came about because I sometimes get asked if I know of another blogger who has a specific hair type. I totally get that some people are interested in trying to find someone to follow who has all their hair stats as they may be best suited to get tips from. So, I thought I'd try to make a blog post sharing different wavy or curly accounts and their hair stats. I'm hoping to include you in my blog post. If you're open to being included could you reply letting me know your hair type? I'm planning to list density, strand thickness and porosity types. If there is some other property that you feel is key to your hair (Sensitive to certain ingredients, oily scalp, super prone to tangles, etc) feel free to share that as well and I’ll see about including it. Hope you have a nice day!
I Googled hair plopping and found you, and I have to ask: are you from Newfoundland like me?
Close... guess again b'y!
@CurlySusie Well it's got to be Nova Scotia somewhere lol
