I have similar hair to you and totally agree with your description of the issues faced by people with fine “weak” curls. Thanks for the reassurance that I’m not alone! 😀
That was hilarious! And I’m so happy to find out I’m not the only person in the universe with a window shade cut unevenly at the bottom. I have MANY shades like that in my house. Thank you for being real!
I enjoyed this so much! I have very fine, low density, short, curly hair and I am able to plop, but only for a short time. No doubt my results from this net plopping would be worse than yours! You can certainly say you got good volume from it though! This method would definitely be best for those with long, thick coilier hair types I think.
Great video!! My intuition was telling net plopping wasn’t for me. You’re experiment was exactly what I was expecting would happen to me. Thank you for saving me from a bad wash day
Absolutely love your style! My hair is longer and I'm thinking of having it cut shorter and I wonder if you could tell me if you have multiple layers, or just a couple. Currently, my stylist only cuts it in a couple of layers from what I can see. I think I would get more curl if I had more layers. not short layers, just more of them!
Thank you so much!! I definitely have multiple layers but I wouldn’t be able to tell you a number since I cut it myself 😬😂 I’d definitely ask for round layers and ask for volume and lightness in the areas where you see the least curl! Best of luck! xx
I think its quite interesting how this is the holy grail for some people but doesn't work at all for others. I tried it on my coarse but wavy hair and I used the net on wet hair, then netplopped for some time, and then started diffusing untill it was about halfdry. Then I removed the net and my roots were still pretty wet, so I hoverdiffused my roots and than difused the rest untill dry. My waves actually looks quite good and they felt really hydrated, but my roots were kinda flat and a bit wonky. I think my favorite method is still microplopping and then diffusing though.
I tried net plopping using a wig cap. I think that bag was waaaay too big! I net plop to start the drying - but like regular plopping, my curls are piled on TOP of my head! I hover diffuse with the net on, then when my hair is partly dry I take it out of the net. Oh! I also micro plop beforehand and use root clips to keep my roots from being flat and it helps keep my part...parted. Anyway, once Intake down the net, it’s done it’s job and I pixie diffuse until almost completely dry. Idk if that’s helpful for anyone!
Still too big, dear! 😘 I believe the idea is that you’re plopping to increase curl definition, so your hair needs to partially dry accordion’d on the top of your head. I’m definitely impressed that you were able to salvage the wash!
I have baby fine hair and I have noticed with plopping that when I plopping for about 10 minutes it doesn't get as wonky. If I leave it longer it does get crazy. I'm assuming net plopping will do the same thing to my hair, seeing that it gets wonky with plopping to long
Oh yeah, a super long plop is a recipe for major wonkitude! I can see a shorter plop being way more beneficial. And yeahhhhh I have a feeling net plopping is not for you 😂
I've been using my air force furnace this winter. I turn the heat up Hella hot and then quickly lay with my hair on the vent while blowing the rest with my dryer. I turn my head and change position. Dry finished hair in 5 to 10 minutes.
Hi Angela from Angela! I think it may work OK if you have longish hair but not so much for shorter hair. I don't even plop anymore at all. I micro-plop to remove excess water but I found I got really wonky curls when I plopped. My hair is a little longer than should length.
Same same - I only wet plop, and very rarely at that! I think this particular technique works best for coarser textures rather than fine - all the folks I’ve seen have success with it have coarser strands! Thanks for watching, fellow Angela! xx
Plopping always makes my hair look awful, I’m glad it’s not just me and my awful plopping skills 😂 But I do think that’s a cool hair net. Where did you get it? It’s massive!
Hi I am really enjoying your videos and have picked some good tips and tricks while transitioning into wearing my 2c3a3b curls curly.I have somewhat corse hair which is also high porosity and I pretty thick hair. It has been a real journey that's for sure ...yes I know it's 90's lol but I love the Pretty woman Julia Roberts hair ...love big hair and that look is pretty achievable with my hair type. Do you have a hair routine that includes everything from washing, conditioning, prep as well as styling and diffusing?
That was funny! What happened with you is exactly what would happen to me. Glad you did it so I don't have to LOL!! (I have never been a fan of plopping)
@@TheFitCurls I had the same feeling. But had to try. I need to watch more of your styling videos since our hair is the same. I still don’t have a solid style technique.
Just found your channel 💕 what is high porosity hair? How do I know if I have that? Why is getting your hair wet too often bad? Sorry for all the questions 🙈
Thank you, I think I’m balanced 🙌 not sure about porosity though-my hair dries super quick because it’s so fine. I refresh with the spray from the shower & it doesn’t seem to harm my curls.
@@emmaoregan5239 Hi Emma, I recommended that video because I actually go into a lot of detail about finding out your porosity and why completely re-wetting the hair too often can be problematic :) hope this helps!
Yes I thought it was fab thank you. I just couldn’t decide what I was feeling when I did the strand check. It’s totally got me thinking all things hair. Your hair is stunning btw 💗
On my somewhat coarse hair and it's pretty thick I don't like the plopping at all. Results are unpredictable and exactly what you said makes my hair wonky lol and also get cause some weird parts are make lay weird on my head ...I love big hair but not wonky crazy big or weird parts so I'm leaving the plopping alone. A lot of trial and error for us curly girls 😂.
My hair is fine and even lower density than any UA-camr I can find who calls their hair low density. Even drying the best way I’ve found I look a bit like Medusa with bedhead until I SOTC lol
Defuse it until its like damp and then take it out and defuse it like normal. I think overall this technique is for ppl who are either new or just have a difficult time figuring out how to do it
It was really nice of you to try that for all of us. Every time I watch someone do it who has fine hair, it turns out like yours. I am convinced that I will never try it. Plopping for my hair does not work either. Sometimes less is more. I am curious what you think of the Evolvh Balm product? Do you always use it as a prep? When you use it as a prep do you leave out leave in conditioner or curl cream? When I use it, it's after my hair is dry and it feels a little crunchy. I never considered using like you are.
I actually have only used the WonderBalm on wet hair, since that’s what the directions recommend! I have been interested in trying it dry though so thanks for sharing xx
To funny. 😂 I tried this without defusing with defuser. Does not work with loose curls. I believe from what I’ve seen this works with people that have coiley hair. You did a great in the recovery. 👍
If at first you don't succeed - try, try, try again. Honestly, I don't think it looked bad, your first attempt at plopping...emphasis on your first attempt at plopping. As with any first attempt, you get better when you look at the outcome as feedback and not as an epic fail.
So true - experiments are worth repeating! Buuuuut for me this method just isn’t worth the time it takes to do it and potential wasted product when I get great results in less time with the diffusing technique I already use :)
This method works for me BUT I hover-dry my hair (especially the roots) to about 50%, until I'm sure my waves are set, THEN I put my hair in the mesh to air dry.
I’ve had the same results. I just rocked my bed head meets, electricity hair all day. Got compliments, weird looks and laughs from the family. 😂 2020 needed a good laugh 🤣
Thanks for taking one for the team. I have fine hair too. My curls go wonky so easily. I only plop for the length of time it takes for me to dry off and get dressed.
Plopping makes my hair look like crap. I have 2C-3A-3B multitextured/normal porosity hair and they just look frizzy and gross. I vastly prefer scrunching and finger curling areas that need definition and diffusing
Any kind of plopping and my hair don't agree. Diffusing only work for me after my hair is styled and about 80% dry and hard from the cast. If I don't do this, it will be a mess.
I meannn if I go viral, dope 🤣 but I wanted to try it for fine-loose-curled humans like me to see if it would work! Annnd I think the video speaks for itself 🤪

Thanks for trying this and showing us. I had been tempted to try but have fine wavy hair and so don’t think it would work for me either. ⭐️😊

I’d love to see you review the evolvh wonderbalm like a side by side wash day comparison! They make some pretty bold claims and it’s so expensive!
Great suggestion! xx
Maybe if you net plop before you diffuse it'll give you more curl definition. Then diffuse when your hair is 70 or 80 percent dry.
It’s a good thought! I think I’ll stick to my regular method 🤣 but it’s worth someone trying !
I'm an old lady, my unruly hairs are a hot mess- but I'm all in for "clumpity" you're the best!
Clearly I am a linguistic genius 🤪
Plopping always makes my hair look awful, I’m glad it’s not just me and my awful plopping skills 😂 But I do think that’s a cool hair net. Where did you get it? It’s massive!
It’s not a hair net actually - it’s a net shopping bag 🤣🤣🤣 my husband picked it up at a tiny home goods store somewhere in NYC!
You should watch videos with more focus. This way you look...ummm...not so sharp.
Love the word, "clumpity"

The closest I have is my Evolvh review but I’ll be coming out with a new start-to-finish wash day routine soon xx
I swear all the net plopping videos literally have a very similar surprised, WTF look. 😂
Glad I could deliver on that 🤣
I tried it too and got the exact same results 😅 I stopped plopping altogether and just let it air dry (I don’t have a diffuser)
Plopping is not for everyone, that’s for dang sure! 😂
Could you try net plop with bonnet dryer please?
That was funny! What happened with you is exactly what would happen to me. Glad you did it so I don't have to LOL!!
(I have never been a fan of plopping)
Sacrificing my dignity for content since 2019 😂
This was so entertaining! Thanks for sharing. Sad you wasted some product, but this was helpful! Haha!
Holy hell OMFG 😆 🤣🤣 I'm dying over here
FASHUN 💁🏼♀️😂
So many products! Holy moly. I'd look like a grease ball.
Meanwhile my hair drinks product and begs for more 😂 to each their own!!
It didn’t work for me either. I have fine high porosity curls as well.
Good to know it’s not just me!! I had a feeling it would be rough for fine hair 😂

Congrats for doing so!
Godsend ❤
What can I say - I’m here to humiliate myself so you don’t have to! 😂
How did you fix your hair after the net plop fail? Rewet your hair or rewashed?
Just rewet with a spray bottle and reshaped :)

Mine also came out hella wonky. I have long hair that gets weighed down so I was super hopeful.
Try my diffusing technique instead! I linked the video in the description - it gives me tons of volume every time xxx
Malleable! Been looking for a word to describe my wonky hair!
You’re welcome 😘😆
Ok, putting my bag away 😂😂😂
Dead 🤣
😂😂😂

Heck yeah - do what works for you!! I hate the unpredictability and wonkiness that I get from plopping so it’s not worth it for me! xx
Haha it was worth a try and you saved it still, turned out cute :)
Thanks! Ngl I was real nervous 🤣
