Well in still on my way and you have really helped me THANK YOU. I don't think I've been using enough jell my hair is short and very thin so didn't think I needed much. Love your vedios keep them coming.💗💗
Thank you Edith!!
Curly Susie Curly Susie Hi there! Do you know what the gel is good for? Do they put it in in the Curly Girl Method in order to shape the hair and get rid of frizz because they want to, or is it necessary to teach the hair over time what to do when you are still transitioning from damaged to curly hair so that it knows what to do, and when you’re there you can stop it? I don’t want to use it but I don’t know if it would interfere with the method not to. I am confused because: doesn’t gel also contain alcohol and things that are bad for you? Then why do we use it? Are there special types?? Thanks in advance, I hope you see this comment and reply me or make a video!! xxx
Hey Lea! When you follow the curly Girl Method you use Gels & Products with no Alcohol & No Silicone. My favourite Gel actually conditions my hair :)
This technique is basically just an example of how to style your hair without heat. I have a video where I explain everything. It’s called “easy/oversimplified Curly Girl Method for newbies” one interesting thing about the video is you can see how much better my hair is now after just a few months of shooting that video... & I use gel every single day.
Do u have a page on Facebook or in Instagram??
Yes Ma’am! In the description box
In my family with 3 women, I am the only curly haired girl. I've never been taught how to treat curly hair, and I would comb it out and have it looking frizzy. The only solution I knew of was to put it in a bun. My sister's always made fun of my hair, and I felt ugly because my hair never looked like theirs. I found your video last week. The first time I tried casting I cried at how gorgeous my hair looked. My sister's kept wanting to touch my hair. I never felt so pretty. Thank you! 💕
Same here. It's gold when you find something that works
Megan Hardy ikr that feeling that all your troubles are over 🥺😭
Awwww thats really sweet
this comment is so precious. i’m so happy you found something that worked.
I have no idea if my mom has curly hair, she just referred to our hair as “frizzy” and the goal was always to straighten it out. She still considers my hair messy when I go all natural, but actually started complimenting my curls once I started trying new techniques. Thanks a lot mom, too little too late. I still have a complex where I don’t feel good about my natural hair. But I don’t want to keep frying it every day for no good reason.
I appreciate that you keep it simple. I have been getting overwhelmed with the amount of products some people use.
Me too 😬! I spent so much money & keep going back to the same 2 products.
Heather Denboer, same..
I'm so glad I was broke when I started lol I bought LUS pkg and anytime I add anything I feel I wasted money... I make my own flax gel and that's all I'm sticking to
@@DebRoo11 yeah I hate how gross my hair feels when there's tons of different products in it
Little tip: use a wide tooth comb or a denman brush after applying the gel and before scrunching. Your curls will be the most perfect, smooth ribbon-y ringlets)
I was told not to ever use a comb on my wet hair, so many different idea’s. I never know what’s right.
Brenda just experiment see what works for you :)
@@brendadon9394 I understand the struggle, but my hair just gets tangled so much and so easily that I really have to comb it before I wash it, during washing it and after. If I don't it's just a big mess and impossible to deal with.
I'm now trying to do that as little as possible, but I still have to. I've heard that combing it while it's wet is okay if you do it while conditioning your hair, but I still have to comb it after I rinse out as well, otherwise it will just lay flat at the roots.
So maybe try using a leave-in or hair milk before the casting, and then comb through it when you apply the gel.
I'd recommend using a hair milk, I've found it's nowhere near as heavy as a leave-in conditioner, but it works really well with helping me detangle my hair.
Aleksandra Anja Kuzmic Hi ☺️ I feel you. Tangly hair and knots all over are soooo annoying. You should maybe try out another conditioner or use more. Since I started using a shit ton of conditioner I only have to brush before washing and a little bit while the conditioner is rinsing out. The conditioner detangles most of the knots. You just have to use so much that they start “dissolving” during rinsing. For me, if I brush it after I washed it my curls get frizzier and it just doesn’t look as good.
@@brendadon9394 A wide tooth comb is fine, you just don't want one with thin spaces because it can snap hairs. You can get specific ones for wet hair if you're worried. Hope that helps! X
You are the only person who doesn’t over-complicate the CGM. THANK YOU!
Is it just me or is breaking the cast each day so satisfying?!? I just love how it looks afterwards. So annoying waiting for it to be 100% air dried tho. Xx
Amanda Gac my hair literally takes 4 hours to air dry with gel in it. 😔
Dayna Bailen try 7!!!
Y'all I'm super new to this method and what does breaking the cast mean?
@@nibharokiran leave the crunchy gel or mouse feeling in your hair till it’s 💯 dry. Then Gently tousle or scrunch it out depending on your hair texture so it feels soft again. Not too much or it’ll get frizzy. Practice makes perfect. Xx
@@Amanda-yd2ey THANK U SO MUCHHHHH 😩❤️❤️❤️
I just started the curly girl method so I'm still kind of in the bad hair phase. But those pictures at the end made me so happy because a lot of them have hair like mine! Hopefully I can get my hair to look that good too.
Took me a couple of months to notice a real change. Hang in there Katelyn!
This is me right now! How did it go?? X
I’m about 2 months in now
I’ve been flirting with the idea of me shaving my head cause I’m 4 months in but some just ain’t curling and they’re so stringy!😭
Same
Holy cow that's sooo much gel! I think I've only been using a quarter size. No wonder I never get a cast.
I only use a ton of gel for this method. I use about 1/2 this much on a daily basis... so like 100 peas haha
which gel are you using?
rachel lahav she’s using LA looks extreme sport with secure/level 10. You can buy it for like $5 at Walmart or Walgreens
jay hulrs 🤣🤣🤣🤦 me too and I kept wondering why my curl is not as good as other people
She has a lot of hair. If you have thin, fine hair, you would use less.
I just turned 18 and have only started loving and figuring out my curls (after straightening everyday for about 10 years) I can’t wait to jump in the shower and try this 😂 even bought special gel I hope I get a similar outcome! Gorgeous.
hows ur curly hair journey now??
Same I’m now 18 and started to appreciate my curls after 6 years of only straightening and bleaching my hair. How is it going now
you go girl!!! how's your hair now?
How's your hair now?
Its 2 am and I have pin straight hair but this was so interesting to watch. Love your curls so much ✨
I am 5 days Into the curly girl routine and I can't tell you how many compliments I've gotten on my hair!! I am 50 and have never had frizz free hair until now!! Thank you for your videos... ❤
This is what I used to do in my teens decades ago and somehow it got so overwhelming and over complicated along the way. Thanks for reminding this chronically ill and disabled gal how easy curly/wavy hair can be. My carer is very relieved as they have ADHD and this is so easy for us both!
Finally I found somebody who has my hair texture and does not use a ton of products!!! Nice video.
Thanks Mariam!!
Hi Susie! 10 year ago I had THE best hair day of my life , I looked like a Mermaid and ive never been able to replicate it.😢 watching this video I realized i got the Mermaid hair from an accidental conditioning mousse cast! 😂😂😂 I just discovered the CGM and now I feel like I might be able to have the vast hair day EVERY day. EXCITE! please keep making super easy abd basic videos for us CGM Newbies!
No one ever taught me how to care for my curly hair.. I only used gel maybe twice in my life and hated it because it made my hair so crunchy! I always rake my fingers through! 🤦♀️
This is AWESOME! Thank you! 34yrs old and I'm going to start using the curly girl method with gel! Very excited!
Finally, someone that thinks like me, not too many products and cheaper is better! I almost ordered some **** Curl products but just can't see spending that much on my God given curls. Your hair type is also very similar to mine. I'll be picking up some gel tomorrow, thanks!
Just go for something Silicone & Alcohol free!! 💕
Cantu products aren't expensive. I love their gel in the tub because then I don't get product on the outside of the container when I need more.
They are free of mineral oils, parabens, sulfates, and silicones. Very curly hair friendly!
Candy K have you tried their curl creme for kids? At Sally's. $4 for a 16 oz bottle. I did use too much the first time, rinsed my hair in the snk and let it air dry, flipping it from side to side.
susancnw59, no, I haven't.
Is it easy to apply too much?
Candy K what is the gel called!??
Me and my bad memory: Going back here every three days on wash day to see again how it's done. 😂
Thats absolutely fine😊
Your hair looks fantastic! This video is very helpful. Your accent is so unique. You sound like a combination of Canadian, East Coast American, and a dash of Irish!
Great video Susie I loved it! This is like watching myself in the shower LOL I've been using the LA looks gel a lot lately because I live in New York City and it's super humid here and this stuff really blocks humidity like a boss! I used to be terrified of gel but I came to realize that I needed to use at least double to Triple the amount I thought I should be using to get good results! I really love that you keep it simple, I watch other curly haired UA-camrs and the one thing that turns me off is using too many products and spending massive amounts of money on a routine. I do enjoy watching people review all different sorts of products but with certain UA-camrs if they are always reviewing more and more and more products week after week and they love nearly everything they try it makes me not as interested anymore. Simplicity is key, I like to know that wherever I go in this world I can take the techniques with me and look for inexpensive products to get good results. Love your videos! I was shocked to see you using something different than your beloved biotera LOL
I do have to be honest! I STILL love my Biotera Gel. It is my one hair product I can’t live without. I just honestly wanted to try something different & LA Looks is a harder hold. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a sweet comment!
I love Gel so much lol,
It's my absolute favorite styling product.
Another thing to note about gel is that if you want your hair to have longer hold, you can just leave the cast in and let it break naturally throughout the day. This would be really good if you live in a humid climate too 🙏🏻
I love how you put in the pictures of others trying the method! Thank you for all the time and effort you put into making these videos!(:
Thanks for keeping it real. Great job Susie! Love the before and afters at the end. Jen
Yep, We also did this in the 80s! We used TRESemme 4+4 Styling Glaze
Still using it and loving it. Fabulous product!
I was thinking this too. We kept the cast on. Aquanet to get that root lift. 🙋🚐
Love the simplicity of your methods and explanations. I had straightened (mohawked) hair for many years and decided to go curly again. I used to hate that constant accidental gel cast as a teenager, but now I see the point! Slowly getting a collection of cgm friendly products (hard to find in Atlantic Canada!). Thanks for making it all a bit easier.
Thank you!! I've just started the CG method and your videos have really helped! There is so much information and I love that you go straight to the point with minimum product. Again, thank you!!!
this video and your channel in general is such a lifesaver for us trying to care for curly hair on a budget!! thank you for the fabulous advice and positivity
Thanks for the comment Olive 💕💕
Oh, those pictures of the before and after cast were so useful and reassuring! I'm only about 10 days into trying the CG method, and I've realized that I need to be WAY more generous with the gel. I have barely-there waves and I've been afraid I'll end up with "plastic" looking hair if I use more. Next wash---golf balls of gel are going into my tresses. Thank you!
You just showed me the secret I needed! I've always known I've had curly hair, but it wasn't until this past year I finally starting learning how to actually care for it. I know my hair has spirals in it, but it's extremely hard to get them to show up. Well, I just did the gel cast (with a cream) and now I have spirals all over my head! I didn't know my hair could be this curly! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!
I love how you talk. Correct, direct to the point and intelligent. Subscribed.
This is hands-down the best video explanation I’ve found and I’ve been binge watching the CG method videos this week as I’m starting my own journey. Thank you so much!
Yesssss!!! Thank you for watching Mindy :)
The husband's t-shirt tho 👌😂👀
Yessss
That woman’s hair in the picture looked nice too lol
Thank you do much for your simple and cost effective curly hair method. I've only been doing the curly girl method for a month. But I've watched /read so many tutorials and blogs it's quite overwhelming . But Your channel is one that I always come back to :)
Your curls are fabulous!!
Followed this last night with no expectations it would work for my frizzy wavy hair. I was hella surprised it worked! Plus the bounce and fullness I got from my curls. Can't wait to see the progression over the next little while
Best cg vides ever, simple and affordable, it's what we all need, love it
Thank you Sharon ❤️
I started using gel after this video. My curls and waves are now perfect and absolutely NO FRIZZ !!! I would just like to say a big thank you 💜💜💜💜💜💜
Yay!!!! Thanks for saying that. I never thought gel would be my favourite product but it 100% is.
Girl you are a lifesaver!! DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG I HAVE TRIED TO GET A CURLY HAIR ROUTINE THAT WORKS? over 8 years!!!! I've been at this since I was 15, now I'm 23, I've trolled naturallycurly.com, reddit, bought all the expensive AND cheap products, tried everything... and I FINALLY UNDERSTAND! my hair looks amazing, thanks to you! Thank you so much for making this video!
Thank you so much for your videos, Susie!! I discovered that my hair was much curlier now that I’ve switched over to no brushing and using only the cool method of the diffuser! Wow my hair is so healthy now with so many ringlets and volume...and it’s all thanks to you!!
I've been doing this since the 80's when I started getting perms (I'm 47). I grew up and realized I have natural curl/wave. Then I started doing it to my natural curls/waves.
Yaaaas!!Can’t wait to try this!i’m a newbie in CG routines and yours is simple and affordable!love this!😍😍
Thanks for watching!! You can do it
I love that you keep it so simple as there is so much to take in that it can get overwhelming for beginners
Hi! I have SUPER damaged hair, both from dyes and heat, but I could tell I had some waves and curls trying peek out, so I googled like crazy to figure out how to enhance them. I’ve been straightening my hair almost every day for about 5 years, so I had no idea what my natural texture really looks like. I found your channel for the first time a few days ago and decided to try out your tips. Today, I wore my hair natural for the first time in years, and it was curlier than I’ve ever seen it! I’m SO excited to continue and try out new products and see what exactly works for me. Thank you for making such helpful videos!
I’m so happy I found your channel!! You make things so simple (and much cheaper), you’ve made my curly girl journey a lot easier so thank you!!!!
Thank you so much for watching!!
Thank you so much! I think a lot of people think this past it's obvious so they never explain it. I'm a super behind so I really appreciate the simple and straightforward explanation and not using too many products.
OMG this really was a GAME CHANGER! I tried it and my hair looks incredible 😍😍
Well..damn! I don’t think that I am using enough gel!
same .. i thought i was using too much first time i did it so took some out but that didnt cast but have retried with a boat load of gel and fingers crossed it will do better
I've been using a similar method pretty much from the mid 80's on. It's almost the same, but with the following changes which make things a bit easier and faster: 1) After washing hair I wrap my head in a towel for a couple of minutes to remove the majority of the water. The hair should be pretty wet, but definitely not dripping wet. 2) Apply the gel, I just scrunch it in 3) Bend over so head is downwards and hair is hanging down whilst blowdrying hair on a medium temperature but low speed to avoid frizz. 4) WHILE blowdrying, squeeze bits of hair between hands so that you don't end up with a hard gel shell. The reason you wouldn't want a hard gel shell is because some gels will start to flake away once "broken" and the last thing you want is to look like you have dandruff! But if you are already softening up the gel into the curls whilst blowdrying, you never get that problem.
Omg.... I'm so glad you made this video cause seriously some of the curly girls use soooo many products and it's truly overwhelming trying to figure it all out... I love your videos!!! Thanks Much ❤️ Also I've totally not been using enough gel to get that awesome cast an after I tried your method IT WORKED SO WELL!!! 😍 Love how simple an easy it was!!!
Okay this was great! I watched this last night and I did the cast this morning before I went out and it was wonderful!!! So simple and it works!
(using my husband's account here) Thanks So much for your videos! I've got curly/wavy/thinning hair and I've only just recently started doing the whole CGM thing. I appreciate your help so much and I just wanted to say thank you!! :D
Thank you for watching 😊
I had bone straight hair growing up. Now, growing older, my hair has a wavier pattern. I always blow dry my hair to make it straight. I've been watching curly/wavy hair videos for quite some time now and came across this video yesterday. It seemed simple enough for me so I tried on my hair today. Now my hair is beautifully wavy with almost no frizz. Since it's very damaged, I guess I could have even more beautiful waves once it's healthy. I will try to enhance my natural pattern from now on! Thank you for this video!
Hi Elianne! You are 100% right. The healthier your hair is the better this works. My hair is so healthy now that I don’t really use enough gel to get a cast that I have to break out but In the beginning I really needed that cast to make my hair frizz free when it was more damaged. The whole point is to eventually have healthy wash & go hair that is your own natural texture. Thanks for your comment.
Thank you for sharing I've been "making a cast " since I was 13, first leaning how to style my curly hair ( mainly 3a curly girls ). Back then I just left the crunch because I jst didn't know better. I love that you use one product and kept it real worth the amount of gel you use. It reminds me I don't need to spend a ton and keeps me in check. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. It doesn't have to be complicated, you don't have to literally but into the hype to get your natural beautiful curls to work for you. Trail & error couldn't be more true do what works for you share & support each othe!
Thanks again doll 💋
This is the first video I've watched where it is kept so simple! Thank you for that! So many other routines I've watched are super hard to follow and I am trying the gel cast for the first time.
I love the way you say “diffuse” with the accent .
Thank you for this simple method. I've been getting confused about different ways to do it but this video is brilliant! Thank you so much. 👍
So glad I could help!!
I really like how you keep everything simple!! I don't think I could dedicate a lot of time for my hair with all the complicated stuff in other methods. Thank you! I want to try this one now~
This video was recommended on my UA-cam homepage. I don’t know how UA-cam knows I have curly hair. I have always had wavy/curly hair but 99% of the time I blow dry it straight. I could never get it to stay curly and frizz free without the crunchy look which is super obvious in my blond hair. I had 4 kids in 3 years and I’m almost 2 years postpartum from my twins and half my hair fell out and what’s left is twice as curly as before and will not stay straight. I watched this last night and tried it this morning and I am blown away. Blown away it worked and blown away that it took me 31 years to figure it out. 2 of my kids have curlier hair than me so this is so helpful. Thank you so much!
Hi so I tried this in a rush before work. Didn’t get time to use the t shirt just a reg towel and used less gel but it worked wonderfully. My hair is in the transitioning phase since I was a chronic straightener. This is a tedious task of reviving curls I didn’t appreciate I’m on my second week of no heat. Used tresemme gel and my hair wasn’t crunchy at all just a little inconsistent as some parts are straight and some curly from damage. Your vids have been super helpful!!
Yay!! So glad it worked well for you.
I have a combination of type 2bc wavy hair. I’m with you on keeping it inexpensive & simple. I’m trying this gel cast technique today. Thank you! I enjoy all your videos. I especially liked you sharing the pics at the end of this video, feels more like a community that way!
The community is the best part!! I learn so much from you guys.
Linda Bell I’m a 2b 2c and I can never get any definition. I just look like rats tails, I’m considering blow drying my hair straight again.
Linda Bell don't you do it! Patience my dear wavy/curly haired friend, patience!!!
julie Wallis I think I have hair like yours. If I use the wrong products it looks like rat tails. :-( I would recommend trying different products that are cgm approved, lots of squish to condish, an extra strong gel, and leave the gel cast for as long as you can stand it. Like a couple of hours if possible. Make sure it's bone dry before you scrunch it out. Hope this helps. ☺
Also your hair has been looking SO MUCH CURLIER lately and it honestly is keeping me going.
Yay! I’ve been doing the gel casting and it’s helped so much! But there’s been a few times where I had no idea how to break the stiffness of using a little too much and your video totally helped!! 💗🙏🏼 Thank you from a wavy haired newbie
Thank you so SO MUCH! I just went out, bought gel and tried this. My hair looks so much better already! Never would I have thought that I'd be using gel in my hair haha
I was the same way when I started!
I had no idea I needed to scrunch out the crunch!!! Thanks! I use moose. Will change to gel.
I got out of the shower after doing CGM for the first time and got overwhelmed, forgetting how to do the gel part! Pulled this up and it was a lifesaver, thank you 💕
I love your videos!!! I adore how you keep it simple and affordable!
I had a friend talk to me about the curly method a while back. Was a little overwhelmed by it all. Found your videos 2 days ago, starting today!!
Thank you Susie. I'm writing this with a gel cast forming on my hair. This is my first time trying this so wish me luck scrunching it out.
Howd it go??
Much better than I expected! I used clips on the top of my head and I squeed when I took them out - so much volume! It did take longer than I'd anticipated to get all of the crunch out though. I got excited and worried at the same time. I'm so afraid of frizz, but I know a certain amount is natural. I'm not quite into my 3rd week of the CGM, so I need to remember to take a breath and not expect so much so soon.
Thank you so much for keeping it so simple! Im still new with the method and still kinda confused about everything, this video was very helpful!
I’m so glad! Thanks for watching.
Those curls! And, your skin is so clear and bright! You are some serious inspiration.
This is the Best video for curly hair! I was So overwhelmed by all That products recomendation around.. So many of them. So expensive. And here you are. Talking about my Old school metod from years back which i totally forgot. Thank you again!! For me it is game changer xx
Just found you!!!! I’m a curly curly and need the CGM in my life!!!! 😱
Yes! Yes you do lol ❤️
Great video! I’m going to try using more gel on my next wash day. My curl pattern is very similar to yours and I’m anxious to give it a try.
Took me some trial & error to get it right but once you get the amounts right, it works awesomely
Omg thank you thank you!!!!!
Life changing. I never knew I had curls like this!!! My brother had some gel and decided to try it. I had nothing to lose. And let me say, I'm soooooooo happy!!! Everyone is so surprised. I used Got2b Ultra Glued Invincible Styling Hair Gel. That's all I used. That and regular shampoo and conditioner. Thank you again!!! My hair looks amazing and it's very light!!! Super defined and lovely.
this woman knew all the popular tiktok methods before they were even a thing, a true curl master
You are the best! Love the pics at the end. That is such a great idea. 🌹
Thanks again for watching.
You have the BEST curly hair I've ever seen! Hair goals! I'm going to try the gel you used!
Emily!! Thank you so much. But the gel I always use that I love much more is Biotera by Naturelle. It’s alcohol free & ive been using it for over a year. You can get it at Sally!!
When you took the t- shirt off your head did you just leave your curls as is or did you push them into place a little so they weren’t flopping in your face? I think if I let my curls dry as is I’ll look like I have bed head. My hair takes a good 4+ hours to dry completely. I’ll need to try this on a weekend. Thanks for the tips!
My hair just sort of lays like that!??
@@CurlySusie I have thin wavy/curly collar length hair. I've been trying the diy flaxseed gel, but for some unknown reason my hair doesn't seem to like it. So I've been considering purchasing the Biotera gel from Sally's when stores open again. I wonder whether my hair will like it or not. 🤔
Well, I wish I’d watched this BEFORE my shower today haha. Sitting here watching this with a microfibre plopping cap on after mixing conditioner and gel. Oh my, there’s so many ideas and variations to routines out there. I love your simplicity Susie.
I have been bingeing your videos! Thank you so much!
some of them are so crappy quality.... but thank you just the same :)
Wow those pictures at the end we’re really helpful
Love watching your videos, and love that you're from Cape Breton Island! I'm in PEI love the product recommendations that I can actually find! Starting the CG method and need all the help I can get!
Biotera Gel is still my favourite. I was just trying something new.
Curly Susie picked it up on the weekend! I'll be so happy if my hair comes close to your curls!
It’s my all time favourite/must have product!
I’m glad that you made this video. When I was younger and kept my hair curly, this is exactly what I used to do. I have very thick hair and found this was the best way to keep the curls frizz free and well defined. As I got older and curly hair became “a thing” and MOISTURE became the focus, I became so frustrated with my hair because it would get too big or less defined or frizzy when dry if I didn’t use the right stuff-and just decided to stick to straight hair. You reminded me how simple and effective this method could be and it just goes to show that jumping on the band wagon doesn’t work for everyone. ❤️
Also, you used the same brand of gel I used to use!!!! And I was like “oh YEAH, I’m going back to curly” 🙌🏽
Just found this page and I’m loving it. While we are on lockdown I thought I would give it a go so if I’m a blonde bush head for a few weeks then no one will see ! Love your tips, thank you 💕🙏🏼
Hattie Dell 'Aquila currently started the curlygirlmethod (for the 100th time lol) during this lockdown, too! it helps that no one will see me during this transition phase 😅
Same!!! Perfect time to try it out lol
I am also trying out the curly girl method during lockdown. Embracing my natural curl! Going through the transitioning phase now and hoping I will be ready to go back to work with my curls for the first time (or shall I say; accepting it as I have been straightening it for over 15 years).
LA Looks Gel is so bomb! You just can’t beat that price, and the smell is like...nonexistent! Doesn’t smell like a teenage boy or anything! I struggle not to scrunch out the crunch before it’s entirely dry... I know I shouldn’t scrunch it before it’s dry but I can’t stand that wet look, and my hair takes forever to dry!
In the UK it's £15 is that what you've paid? X
Yikes! In the U.S., it's usually around $2
Doesn’t that have a ton a drying alcohol?
@@bluejean-1968 No, it doesn't have any drying alcohols (at least the blue & yellow ones).
How long does it take for your hair to dry?
Only watched two of your videos so far and have subscribed! You really help to make sense of this journey! Thank you for posting!
One of the best presentations of how to create the perfect curls in an easy to follow tutorial! I also love that Curly Susie does not use her platform to hawk products.
Thank you so much for this video, my hair has always been very long and very straight, in the last year or so it has transitioned into wavy hair, it's roughly 16-18 inches so quite heavy which pulls out some of my curls, I'm going to try a gel cast as having wavy/curly hair has definitely been an experience but I'm hoping to embrace it x
My curls don’t even form correctly when it’s so soaking wet. Even when it’s dripping my hair (mainly the back of my head near my neck) is so frizzy. I use a cotton t shirt to dry as well
Yay!! So grateful for this video! Thank you, this is helping “ this newbie” to curly girl method so much!
This is why I love your channel, you keep the method short and sweet, not using a million products. I do your method, the conditioner then the gel. I've seen videos of beautiful curls but they use like 5+ different products and I'm like... I can't, I don't have time or money for that while chasing around a 1 year old. Oh yes and cheap products is also what I love about your method! Keep up the good work, love your videos!
You’re SUPER brave to film that in a towel!! 😆 This is exactly how my sister does her curls, and they’re perfect!! People always balk when she says she only uses cheap LA Looks gel, but it definitely works!
finally ^_^ it works with me .. thank you so much
I love crunching out my gel cast. It's the most satisfying thing in my hair routine !!
Thank you so much! Your videos are awesome! ACTUALLY realistic methods. You're my curly girl hero ♡
used to do this in the '80's when everyone else was using mousse in the back of their permed mullets
2018's number 1 video you didn't know you needed!!!
Thank you so much for this!! I had no idea the amount of gel I needed. Here I am thinking a quarter size is enough for my long thick hair. Duh! And then, I had no idea you could scrunch out the crunch!!! I always thought it would leave gross white flakies all over my hair from the dry gel scrunching out. No? Maybe that's why using some conditioner might be helpful. I'm pumped to try this out!!
Hey Christina! Thanks a million. The alcohol/silicone free gels don’t really flake. 💕💕💕
Curly Susie you are officially my new favourite youtuber!!! Excited to see your channel grow!! 💖
Girl i love your Channel so much! Just started to embrace my curls and I am already frustrated with searching for products and methods. But your videos are nice, short and you explain everything nice and easy!
Hey! Thank you so so much. Just give it a chance. your hair will thank you :)
Love the tee!!! Sbtb was a major part of my childhood and love this thank you
Loved it! A little tip, when you diffuse, it's better to start from your roots and going down slowly or not diffuse your end at all. That way you'll get softer ends and prevent split ends from the heat damage when diffusing directly your ends! When you start by your ends first they will get all the heat first and that will only cause split ends and dryness. If you like doing this anyway, you should at least put a oil on your ends or some protective/sealant to keep them soft :) Hope that helps. Thanks for the video!
Yeah I just watched this video and I was wondering why she was defusing the ends of her hair first. That's very wrong for some of us. That was totally frizz me out!
I love that you keep it simple. Keep on with your bad self!
Thanks Tamara!!
I just started using this method and you’re video’s are a GOD SEND!! Ty so much for all your help!
I loved the before and after pictures at the end! Such a good idea
Hi just discovered your channel after hearing someone talk about this. Now I'm thinking of trying this tomorrow. I've been wearing my hair straight for years now.Funny thing is I was doing the gel cast and scrunching it out back in the 90's and it was all instinctual because I wasn't around anyone that knew much about curly hair.
