  • This is a problem I had with my 2013 F150 and from what i have learned is a common issue with most ford models with this 'EASY FUEL" system.
    This is the best way to get rid of that to my knowledge.

    Worked for me! Light came on, was there for a few days. Eventually the check engine light came on. I performed this fix using carb cleaner (all I had) one day, did it the next day as a "just in case". Cleared check engine light, started truck, and light gone. Have run truck for 1 week, over 600 miles with no recurring issues.

    I did this, and even tried to clear the code with my scanner . The code did not disappear so I took it to the dealer and they said they would order the part and it would be here in about a week. After several days the code cleared itself:-)

    Thanks for the tip man. It worked great. Not used to these new vehicles. I'm an old vehicle person.😊

    Looks like it worked... I followed your procedures, drove it 12 miles and code did not return. Thank you.

    Another of FORD'S "BETTER IDEAS" Meanwhile MORE dirt and crud will go into the tank.

    If u wanna help keep this from happening again and u live near a lot of dirt i found that if u buy the gas cap lock for these and go to ur hardware store and get an o ring that fits perfectly on the cap lock and rub a little lube on there it will seal it and keep any dirt form getting In there I did this a few years ago and haven’t had any problems with it since then

    Worked for my 2012 fusion. Now just need to figure out how to fix the floppy fuel door... the spring must have came out or something 🤔

    I guess that works. And I guess that is why they have fuel filters.

    My husband actually broke mine trying to add fuel without using the funnel. We have the assembly, but cannot find a how-to for replacement. Can anyone help???

    Loved the matter-of-fact comment that most Ford's should come with a funnel LMAO

    Won’t this make the dust and grime go straight into ur tank?

    • @mr.diyguy9615
      @mr.diyguy9615  3 роки тому +3

      Thats why i cleaned the outside first. The dust sitting around the seal is most likely very minimal and not enough to cause any clogs in your fuel lines or filter. The way I see it every time you insert the nozzle at the gas station you’re knocking particles of dust in your fuel tank.

    It’s ok to put WD40 in the gas tank?

    • @mr.diyguy9615

      It shouldn’t hurt anything wd40 is flammable so it should ignite when its injected in the engine. That being said i only used a few squirts I wouldn’t empty the entire can in my fuel tank. Truck ran great ever since and its been almost a year now.

      The issue is wd40 destroys rubber seals.Use clear silicon lubricant not the white the clear.
