Yo dan A another UA-camr that I follow and watch his video FSC trucking He also working on his 1980 ford CL90000 he cut off the rear end also in the work on his Peterbilt 352 Cabover also cut off the rear end of 352 Pete and combined the 1980 ford and Pete 352 rear end as one for the ford CL9000 new rear end and for the Peterbilt 352 Cabover when FSC trucking is done fixing up the ford the Peterbilt 352 will get a brand rear end when the ford is done being fix

Grasshopper is going to be niiice and your keeping it old school cool to boot. My last KW K100 was an 1982 in 2001 with a 400 big cam Cummins matched up with a 13 speed (which wasn't the original trans)and she was a double bunk painted gold. Can't wait to see it all done..

G day Dane, Ray from Australia 🇦🇺 here , if you notice my profile on UA-cam you will see the Labatt’s Streamliner. I was lucky enough to track it down in Canada 🇨🇦 and eventually travelled to Canada to see it and meet Joe Scott the guy responsible for restoring the White Labatt’s Streamliner back in 2001.
The KW is coming on a treat and the Detroit sounds great, the only thing that I would have done differently is I would have left it with the broomsticks ( Torsion Bar) in it , but it’s your truck so you can do whatever you like.

Hey buddy, so cool you got see it first hand! 😮 yes I would have loved to leave the KW in tact but the fifth wheel being frozen and torsion bushings all toast and aluminum mounting brackets all cracked and lines bad not to mention needing total new brake drums etc just wasn’t feasible.

Tuesday's for once cool cool. But I get some nice aluminum rims to go to go with the the other nice one. Did you have one front? Get some nice LA d lights in the back of it. Get some mirror brakes on the back of it. Put some mere breaks on there safety first brother safety first

Paint looks good. Makers hung on to the carriage door handles a really long time. I guess the new rear will fly some serious sparks on the install.

I always liked the Internationals, I drove a '72 Transtar for North American. Old school trucks and cars are the only good ones. Drivers today don't know what spring ride, manual steering was like bouncing down the highway, and if you ever rode in the jump seat....wow. Grasshopper is looking good. I too like the dayton style wheel, but never changing the tires.
I love the 4070A the dash especially is so unique. Hat tipped to you as you were one of the many out there gettin it done! 😬👍
That Green on your KW reminds me of tge Green that was on the old Saunders truck rental trucks, they had alot of Transtar & KW cabovers when i was a kid. Not sure if tgey were local in Alabama or Nation wide.

There is local company here in South East ky that has a W900A with Peterbilt air trac under it.
Does a great job it's more stable than the original suspension.
You will be happy with grasshopper.

I remember it touring to truck and car shows in the 80’s along with one of its predecessor a 1919 White truck that hauled kegs of beer . To the best of my Knowledge Labatt’s still has them. Both in London. Will see if I can’t find out about them .

O-H-I-O Porters🇺🇸 I’ve tried watching this episode several times, but got interrupted until today. I’m learning so much about the K100s…I thought the roof top would be all aluminum or fiberglass, not both. Here’s my biggest THRILL: Seeing this old truck, being pretty much ready for the junkyard, coming back to life. Beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder & we sure have the heart to bring them back to life! So this truck was originally Black & White? That sure pops out! Interesting. How many owners has it had? The guy you bought it from painted it the green combo? I’m actually liking the green more than before. I know it was popular on some of the older rigs, but it usually doesn’t do much for me. New Rears: now that’s what I’m talking about! I’m very interested in this process, so I hope you cover it very well. Will you do most of the work at your shop? I’m planning on visiting JRs soon to get some parts for my REO project. Thanks for sharing our REO info. Love those old Emeryvilles! I knew several people who owned or drove them back in the day. Blessings my friend! 🥰😎✌️
Hey Buddy, so the guy that bought it from the original owner said it was green when he bought it in 78. So it was painted not long after new I’d say but who knows. I will definitely document the cutoff process as best as I can. Thanks as always for watching 😊

Yes sir Ed that’s why I do it that way. Both the color and the clear are acrylic products mixed at my local auto paint store. They are such a pleasure to deal with too. Very helpful. Thanks 😋

I love the paint scheme with green, however just my opinion I think I would go with aluminum rims around truck....by the way how is Columbo doing? ...love all your videos and look forward to watching every video you make! Hats off to you from Kinston NC for your hard work and persistence...10-4 im gone!
Ive got stainless simulators coming for the front. Should look killer with painted Daytons. Columbo is good but as with any special needs person he has his bad days but we wouldn’t trade it for anything.

You're right air ride because if you're changing the whole truck. I just seen somebody check out Texas metal, what they did to a 1973 Peter bill. Didn't up nice for the counterpooler engine in the air. Everything changed the air ride and riding. Everything got the put a new cut off. All there looks great looks great people. They take those those. What's you called? It's off and I go when I go newer. More boy, you're you're good. You're a good guy, Dean, huh?

Ah. I might've wondered about that aqua color maybe being the exposed panel material - but then I thought "naw, that's gotta be paint!"🤣
That new rear 'clip' is nice, except for that rear crossmember, which you can probably straighten or replace. I'd try bending that passenger side chrome splash-guard back into position too - although those don't quite belong there as much, on an older truck like that.

Yes will spruce up the cutoff for sure. Wayne is my buddy from over the line in PA has the 54 GMC and 87 General.
Hello Mr. Scott, this is Dana again when I first started watching the truckers lounge I was intrigued by the way you were making your garage looked like a truckstop eating area that I remember from when I was younger still enjoy that I thought that Peterbilt of yours was one of the most gorgeous things I’ve ever seen I could not believe it when you got rid of it But I can see now that you’re far happier dink around with these older trucks getting more into the Detroit, powered machines and more of the freight type trucks like your cracker box with the ABF weathered look to it that probably more drivers can relate to instead of a swanky owner operator, Peterbiltkeep up the good work I’m not going anywhere

Yeah, yeah I know the feeling I as long as you can afford to do it go ahead and have fun. I grew up within a few miles of Walcott truckstop and we used to drive down there from our farm just so I could look at
The trucks I remember there was a truckstop called Harlans triangle in on old Route six before the interstate was built. You might want to Google it. They had menus made up showing an aerial view of the truckstop and there were trucks parked. I’m gonna be conservative and say a mile in each direction and even off on the side roads, it was during a blizzard in 1961 and Harlans was the Walcott of it’s time

My Dad had few pictures for some reason the only one I regularly see is the 79 ford 9000 day cab he drove for Eureka Cartage when they had him assigned to the Inryco concrete rebar account in suburban Bedford Park Illinois that division was a Subsidary of inland steel Eureka always had 2 - 3 drivers at that location Eureka was under Teamsters contract Inryco was a solid deal for about 10 years when it was over they brought my Dad & another driver back to the main garage in Cicero and that is where my Dad stayed until Eureka cut back their driving force in 1985 and ended contractual obligations with the teamsters union but my Dad still had a long ways to go until retirement so the union B.A. got him on with Jones Truck Lines at the Chicago Illinois terminal which was super great

Was always a fan of KWs, especially when I was a kid way back in the 70s, I have question, does anyone know why KWs had a very long horn on the passinger side & a shorter horn on the driver side? I've always wondered why they made them like that, they had the best sounding horns I think👍✌️
And you answered your own question my friend. Two different bell lengths make kind of the “stereo” low sound you hear. It’s music to my ears. 😬👍
