Help me keep making videos like this by subscribing to my channel! Due to UA-cam policy changes I will lose my monetization account by 02/20/2018 unless I get 1000 subscribers by then!

Your description of why you inserted your Add-a-Circuit in the direction you did was very helpful and something I wasn't aware of. Thank you for your explanation--I'm going to hardwire a dash cam inside my car soon and will implement the Add-a-Circuit the way you suggested to ensure the overall health of my vehicle.

You seem like a pretty smart guy. Any idea how I can keep my electric cooler running inside my truck when I have the ignition turned off? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've searched and searched for the answer but I must not be using the correct search words...thanks for making this video.

I don't recommend this as you will likely drain your battery, since the battery does not recharge when the vehicle is not running. But if you want to do it anyway and take that risk, you would need to find a circuit that is always energized to connect to. I would advise consulting your owner's manual fuse panel map to find some circuits likely to be always on, while avoiding "critical" circuits (i.e. you don't want your lights to go out at night if a short ever occurs in your wiring). You can confirm the circuit is always energized using a multimeter.

I wish you would have shown us more of the wiring and explain more of how the fuse it goes into the fuse box and which fuse spot you picked..... did you buy an extra cigarette lighter and then connected it to that where did you get that cigarette lighter from... seems like a lot more went on than what you actually explain you talked to us as if we were all electrician or car people versus most of us not knowing anything about what you're saying

2:32 add a fuse thingy. They are pretty simple to use. You just find an ignition controlled fuse (radio, etc) and use that fuse slot.

I apologize for the very late reply on this. I appreciate the feedback. I didn't focus on the electrical wiring specifics as I figured there were other videos that could cover that better. Different user needs dictate different approaches, and every vehicle is different. For my application I tapped into the car radio's ignition-switched circuit, and I chose that circuit because my application has a low voltage draw and it's not a critical circuit to the vehicle's operation should a problem with my wiring ever occur. I determined which fuse controlled this circuit by using the owner's manual fuse map, and I used a multimeter to determine which side of the fuse was the feed to the circuit. You can purchase a cigarette lighter power adapter from any auto parts store or a variety of online sources; I believe Walmart even carries them in their automotive section.

Complains about unplugging it from the lighter hole and makes a thing so he doesn't have to move it anymore. Worries about thieves stealing it.

I'm sorry you found this unhelpful. Can you elaborate on what information you were hoping I would cover in this video?
