Just great and just what I need. I heard recently that Nattokinase is degraded by acid in the stomach. It did not say how much. If this is correct and the degradation is more than say 10% a capsule that takes the product through the acid is called for. I'm taking Nattokinase sublingually for over a week but notice no difference. Also, Maltodextrin is sugar that spikes in your blood more than the regular sugar. Something I avoid, especially when a bad thing is renamed to sound innocuous. Thumbs up!
Good job, Danny. Excellent content! I still prefer to get my nutrients from natural food sources. That's why I prepare fresh natto each week (having done so for the past three months). Perhaps I'm not getting as many FUs of nattokinase as with a supplement but I am benefiting from the other seven chemical nutrients in natto. It just feels to be very effective for me. _And who understands at present how these eight chemical substances in fresh natto interact with each other in the body to deliver health benefits?_
@@kevinlcarlson Natto is bland in taste. That's why the Japanese prepare it traditionally with soy sauce, mustard, etc. It does have a pungent, umami aroma and a sliminess which are off-putting to some. I actually adore both.
I make my Natto at home using soaked/cooked Blackbeans. Yummy, not ‘stinky’. Still good and stringy though. (Finally broke down and bought a large glass jar yogurt maker - to maintain ideal ferment temp (105-113F) & duration (approx 24 hrs). All organic, zero styrofoam/plastic/waste.

Thank you for another highly informative video, as usual. We appreciate the detailed explanation of how this stuff works & also how you answer comment questions. Looking forward to the labs analysis video. 👍🏼
Nattovena Is probably the best Nattokinase supplement on the market as far as purity and potency. Yes it's a little more costly but I'd rather pay more money for potency and especially purity because this particular brand has no flow agents extra ingredients etc 😉
Interesting discussion. The lab results will be the most important as I am aware many "nutrient" brands fail miserably in providing you with what they state on the label.
Interesting. BUT it assumes the manufacturer is NOT lying. Many supplement manufacturers lie………. It makes them more money [This is a general comment; not meaning to have a go at the presenter, because I value his advice]
No worries. I really wanted this video to be about figuring out the potency, purity, and especially the value based on the label since 99.999999999% of the time users only have the label info to go by. As you noticed however, testing results are on the way. Now that I think about it, making these separate videos will make both ideas a lot easier to understand as well.🙏
@@natural-informant I can handle and appreciate if the lab analysis could be included as one Summary instead of splitting important information as two separate presentations. The point is that lab verifications is essential to verify the product’s quality which is the Real purity. Then consider the manufacturer integrity, services and value. Just saying.

I want to take this supplement but I heard (on reddit, which is very unreliable) that it may have contributed to Steve Kirsch’s ocular bleed and vision loss. I do have a thinning retina so this is concerning. Has anyone had any complications while taking Nattokinase?
Dr's Best isn't the worst supplement brand. But in this case, it has maltodextrin. And it shows that the nattokinase is not isolated, thus still has the soy allergen.
the best one is definitely Nattovena. However, I wonder, if 5000IU (I am taking another supplement that already contains 1000 IU) is not a bit much? I also take Aminolase, Digest Gold and Enzyme Defense daily plus Sytrinol as needed)
Remember, enzymes only work when the immune system turns off enzyme inhibitors. By supplementing, you’re making sure that you have an ample supply of enzyme activity for when the immune system needs them, like when cleansing or fibrin levels are too high. Children don’t have this problem, that’s why their blood is so clean, but when we’re older and enzyme deficient, the inhibitors get deactivated and there isn’t any or enough enzyme activity too carry out what’s needed. This is why overdose isn’t really an issue because the enzymes don’t start digesting material indiscriminately.👍
The study I saw that administered 2000 FU/D didn't show promising results. The study that showed reversal of atherosclerosis administered 10,800 FU/D and some participants also received 180mcg of K2 and/or 100mg of ASA.
They are results even at lower dosages, but from what I understood (..before I got a headache from all the studies I read..) is that it depends on the parameters of each study ie potency of the extract, the health status of the subjects etc
Hey Danny, do you think it’s beneficial for someone with a healthy heart to take Natto? I recently had chest pains and went to see my doctor. He referred me to a cardiologist. My EKG was normal, echocardiogram was normal, and CT scan calcium score was zero. The Dr said I probably just had costochondritis. Anyway, do you think it’s beneficial for someone with a healthy heart to take natto as a preventative?
Hello Danny, I was wondering about the Nattokinase. I heard that you have to take it on an empty stomach, but I was wondering how long do you then have to wait before you can eat? Thanks!
Generally, an empty stomach would be 2 hours after eating and 1 hour before eating. I always take my enzymes first thing in the morning and wait at least an hour to eat.
According to the famous Cardiologist, Dr. Jack Wolfson, Nattokinase should be considered the nightstand supplement by taking a standard capsule upon rising out of bed and a capsule just before you go to bed (that way you will be protected from a potentially harmful blood clot, while you are sleeping). He recommends taking a 3rd capsule in the middle of day (at least two hours after eating) for those having a high LP (a) level in their blood, which is the small-dense LDL cholesterol (that can be potentially deadly). The doctor has fabluous information on his website and his book, "The Paleo Cardiologist."
6,000 per two capsules. Keep in mind that this wasn’t an all product review, there are far too many products. Main point was to make the calculations easy for any product used. Product you mentioned is interesting, but it’s labeled as a soybean extract that contains nattokinase, it’s not isolated enzyme. At least the label makes it appear that way, especially since they are labeling protein and carbohydrate content. Seaweed capsule is also troublesome. My first thought is that it contains something else to hold the capsule together, but I don’t see anything listed. I may be incorrect, but I’m fairly certain. I may test this product on a future review.
How many times a day should I take nattokinase? I read that during tests the patient would take 3 times daily because NK only stayed in your system for around 6 hours. Just wondering if once daily is enough to receive the benefits
I wish you covered Liposomal vs. non-Liposomal forms... and you didn't cover the Nutricost offering, which only has Rice flour & the hypromellose capsule as added ingredients. No gut-irritating Mg stearate, and no sand (silica).
$50 for this supplement. So, out of most people's budgets. ☹️ You'ld think the medical and insurance companies would allow this as a covered prescription necessity- for it's health benefits. They hand out statins like candy but not this. I give up.
*Youre under the impression that the business model of the pharmaceutical and medical industries is to heal and help people. It’s not, they’re in the business of disease management and symptom maintenance. They want you sick, being a compliant patient and getting more of their prescriptions every month*
The only “insurance” that would cover supplements is an an HSA or FSA. If a physician writes you a letter of necessity, these accounts will reimburse you. But, this is just your own pre-tax money, but buying supplements that give you a break on your income taxes would be nice
@@mostlypeacefulmisterputin Oh I agree with you fully. It is a business for profit and nothing more, and they do want to keep us sick. I'm an old lady now, I don't get yearly tests and I've already had it legally documented that I refuse any life prolonging treatments such as chemo, dialysis, feeding tubes etc. And as long as I can keep all my organs intact my body can be donated as an anatomical gift.
I looked into Nattovena. It had a Prop 65 warning on it. That's not very comforting That tells me that they either don't test for heavy metals, or are not confident in their testing for heavy metals. I can understand a Prop 65 warning on on Chocolate Products (which often have high lead and cadmium levels), but Nattokinase? P.S. Even with chocolate products, you can find product from established brands without the warning.
Nattokinase in general would never have this warning. I've still got all of the bottles from this review, and none have that warning, including the Nattovena. Are you sure you see the warning on the bottle? If you're in California, some websites add that warning to a wide body of supplements, whether they need the warning or not. They would rather warn people about something that makes no sense, instead of getting sued by the headhunters for the prop 65 problem they have in California.
get it that Arthur Andrew, the manufacturer of nattovena, may want to be proactive with the warning to avoid lawsuits, but its competitors are not doing that. The right way to address the situation is to do testing and to forego a prophylactic warning.
I totally agree. My apologies if I wasn't totally clear. From what I see Arthur Andrew does not post that warning, but other websites that sell their products may. Vitamin Shoppe, iHerb, etc.... It's those companies that do the blanketing unfortunately. Check out this video when you have a chance. Warning! @@natural-informant Thanks. Though I believe Arthur Andrew is responsible for its content on the Amazon Website and that Arthur Andrew has included the Prop 65 warning on Amazon. Amazon does not generally include that warning on its site. Arthur Andrew was the subject of a Prop 65 action in 2018. That's one reason why they probably include the warning now. The warning is off putting..
*You didn’t even review the best one out there, Neprinol AFD. It’s also made by Arthur Andrew Medical who makes Nattovena, except the Neprinol AFD contain 12,500 FU per capsule and also has a proprietary blend of Serrapeptase, Bromelain, Papain, Rutin, and CoQ10. By far better than anything reviewed here, and NEVER buy your supplements from your “local grocery store”!*
Thank you for the comment. I agree, Neprinol is a great product, however, I wanted this video to be straightforward about single ingredient Nattokinase only products. Blends that include additional enzymes, like Serrapeptase have other features, benefits, and cross activity that need to be addressed. I thought about blended products before I made this video, but I decided it would make the information far more confusing. Fear not however, I will make another video comparing blended products, what side activity is, how certain enzymes perform when combined with others, and so on. Again, thank you for the comment.🙏
How did you conclude that this is "the best one"? Did you measure the composition? Except for a small amount of magnesium and 15k FU of 3 blended enzymes per capsule, the packaging doesn't say how much of each component is in a capsule. For the price they're asking I'd like to know.
Neprinol AFD doesn’t state on their product that it contains 12,500 FU per capsule, how did you find out the amount of FU per capsule in that product ?
I briefly used Neprinol before but it was expensive and doesn't show how many FUs of Natto or, of Serra, or the other ingredients. It would be great to know the breakdown of these. @natural-informant - can you enlighten us?
Third party testing should show how much of the claimed product is actually in the item, other channels have demonstrated that it can be FAR less than advertised with some products shockingly being fraudulent by containing absolutely none of what is advertised!
What is your opinion on maltodextrin? A quick search shows it to be a questionable ingredient. Web MD states: Maltodextrin may affect the balance of bacteria in the gut. Research in its early stages suggests that maltodextrin may reduce the number of good bacteria and increase the harmful bacteria.
Tough question because the malto in encapsulated products is extremely small compared to what would be considered a normal amount for some type of food. For example, if you have a 500 mg capsule that has malto in it, you’re only going to have a couple hundred milligrams of malto at the most so even though it has a much higher effect on blood sugar than sucrose or fructose, it’s all relative based on the fact that you still are only having less than 1 g of malto . So how much does that affect the gut and or your blood sugar level? In fact, this gives me a good idea for a video. Make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss my video on maltodextrin, what the research says about its effect on the micro biome, and I think I might do my own case study on my own blood sugar to see how maltodextrin affects it.
This is a complicated question, one that I’ll make a video about soon. In a nutshell, nattokinase specifically becomes less active when exposed to stomach acid, but is not completely denatured or destroyed, the way companies that promote an enteric coating say it does in their marketing. Nattokinases full activity potential returns in the more alkaline environment of the small intestine. Some manufacturers choose not to use an enteric coating to avoid the possibility of the coating staying intact, which could prevent the enzyme from being released. This can happen for many users that need the benefits of nattokinase, especially because their intestines are more acidic then they should be, which is precisely the environment enteric coatings are highly stable, they will not break down. Non-enteric coated nattokinase also more closely resembles natto, the original and effective source of nattokinase.
@@natural-informant Thanks, appreciate the detailed answer! People on Reddit were suggesting the enzyme works in different ways and will thin the blood but not bust microclots for long covid unless coated, so I was confused. Of course, it's Reddit so never know how credible haha. look forward to your video on this!
Hi Danny, I have a question for you. I am 55 yr female, 126-129 lbs, with LDL 121-145, HDL 70 - 94, total cholesterol 207 -252, Triglycerides 64 - 81. My question is that I am looking at an 11 in 1 multi containing Natto kinase, Red Yeast Rice, CoQ10, Bromelain, D3, Vitamin C, ect, is this one that will aid me with my high cholesterol? I am not as active as I need to be but eat pretty healthy. We eat out maybe once a month and our diet at home has very little processed foods. I will not take a statin. I have oat bran with Almond or Coconut milk daily and take a Red Yeast Rice Vitamin daily. What more can I do to lower my LDL? By the way, high cholesterol runs in my family on my mother's side.
According to the famous Medical School Professor, Dr. Robert Lustig (who done a fabulous UA-cam Video with Dr. Casey Means), if you have relatively high HDL and low Triglycerides (and it appears you do, but it is hard to ascertain with the ranges that you cite), where the ratio (by dividing the Triglycerides by the HDL) is less than 1%, then consequently he says you should happily live forever, since that is a good indication most of your LDL is the large buoyant type that is essentially harmless, so therefore your LP (a) level (small-dense LDL cholesterol that can be potentially deadly) is minimal. For example, if we take 64 (Triglycerides) and divide that number by 70 (HDL), we arrive at 0.91%. Dr. Lustig has a great book he wrote that explains the process, which he mentions in the aforementioned video, which I highly recommend you view (type the interview between Dr. Casey Means and Dr. Robert Lustig on YT's Search Bar). He also has a number of great videos you can watch (thanks to UA-cam)!! I tried a bottle of the red yeast rice supplement before a blood test and it did nothing to reduce my LDL (my Cardiologist suggested I try the red yeast rice, after I politely declined a statin). When I saw him last time, he advised taking a statin again to me, since my LDL was at 135, but I told him my 51 Trig/76 HDL ratio was 0.67% and Dr. Lustig's general feelings of a low ratio. My previous scores were 0.64% and 0.57% at each blood test taken 6 months apart. He said those numbers are fabulous and he no longer pushed a statin on me!
@@jimn.9990 Thank you for the information. When I gave ranges for LDL, HDL, Total cholesterol, and Triglycerides, I was not trying to be all over the place with numbers, but that is the actual way my numbers come up. My blood is drawn every 6 months for readings, and they were literally 121, 76, 211, 81 in Jan, 138, 94, 252, and 64 in June. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason to them.
Providing the two sets of sequential numbers (the first set taken in January, with the second set taken in June), follow the same sequence of the particular identified tests, then your trig/HDL ratios would be 1.06% for January and .68% for June. Your ratio was much better in June, therefore I would keep doing whatever made those numbers better the second time! Good luck. Jim N. (Independent Amsoil Dealer)
Someone did test These Amazing the falsely made information these manufacturers sell Consumer labs test them also but you now need to pay a membership fee 😊
Before we discover Nattokinase, Japanese eated Natto a long long time ago. But not everybody like its special texture and smell, and want to eat soy everyday neither. Great product. I had someone complain that I didn’t include Neprinol in this review, but I kept all multi enzyme products out of the review so I could explain activity and activity cost on a simple and basic level. Otherwise it would have been really confusing.
You're putting a lot of faith in these companies of actually putting the proper ingredient quantity in each capsule. Out of those you mentioned I personally would only trust half of those companies.
Boy what a waste of my time. You did not even cover the best Nattokinase which is Enzymedica Natto-k Is and has been the best on the market always improving their products. PLUS you failed to let your viewers know how BAD Dr, Best with Maltrodexin is in any product let alone a supplement. Actually what is your point???????
My apologies that you weren’t able to see the pinned comment. This video was to instruct viewers on how to figure out the purity, potency, and value of the product they take, or may purchase. Additionally, this review was about single ingredient Nattokinase products. Natto-K, as I’m sure you’re aware contains additional enzymes for carbohydrate, fat, and fiber digestion. It’s also weak in terms of nattokinase activity, 1,000 FU/cap. Hope this clears things up for you.
I'm sure you only use the salt lamp for decoration but unfortunately people on the Internet leap to conclusions; they may either use your ownership of one as validation of the ridiculous health claims surrounding them, or they may use the lamp to infer a lack of scientific rigor on your part. Each false inference is dangerous-may I suggest you don't feature a salt lamp in your videos?
You didn’t lab test them, so how can you review them? You don’t even know whether or not these actually contain any nattokinase. We can all read labels. The problem is that many companies lie. This is useless.
Thank you for the comment. My apologies if you didn’t stick around to the end of the video when I addressed this concern. I released this video mainly as an instructive guide so you can figure out potency and real cost based on a label, since this what we all typically have to go by. 3rd party testing on these products and 6 others is in process as we speak. ETA on the new video with this new info is about 3-4 weeks out.🙏
Well, I buy a product from Japan called sonomono and it is a 50g packet of powdered fermented soybean and bacillus subtilis at 24 billon CFU per serving (1.5 g) (so 33 servings). I encapsulate it myself in OO caps. I get about 60 capsule out of each bag so it's about $0.54 per capsule, minus my time X-). It's about $31.50 on Amazon when you do the subscribe feature. Colony forming units doesn't seem to be comparable to fibrinolytic units. Am I wrong? I have no idea how this transfers to how you measure in this video.
You are correct, CFU’ does not convert to FU’s since they represent two completely different activities. Colony forming units is referring to the potency of probiotics, in this case B.subtilis. Fibrinolytic Units refers to the activity of nattokinase, the enzyme created during the fermentation process of soybeans with B.subtilis. You probably have some FU activity in that product, but if it’s not labeled, it’s not standardized, so there’s no way to know exactly how many FUs you’re getting.
This video was created to show you how to figure out potency, purity, and value based on the label of any nattokinase product. 3rd party testing of these products is in process. Make sure to subscribe to the channel so you don’t miss the testing content when it’s released. Thanks for watching. 🙏

Thumbs up!
Stop taking it for a couple of weeks and see if some symptom returns that you hadn't notice subsided
Good job...took me several months ago 2 hours to figure all this out
Outstanding presentation! I have subscribed and look forward to the lab results.
Great to hear
Sounds like you are okay with the taste of natto, which is apparently an issue for some
@@kevinlcarlson Natto is bland in taste.
Always excited to see your videos, thanks for the information Danny; looking forward to the results.
You and me both!
Great to hear from you.🙏

Thank you for another highly informative video, as usual. We appreciate the detailed explanation of how this stuff works & also how you answer comment questions. Looking forward to the labs analysis video. 👍🏼
Nattovena Is probably the best Nattokinase supplement on the market as far as purity and potency. Yes it's a little more costly but I'd rather pay more money for potency and especially purity because this particular brand has no flow agents extra ingredients etc 😉
Thank you....valuable information done very professionally. We are grateful!!!
My pleasure

Just in time bro thank you🙏
Hey! This may be a dumb question. Should we remove the outer capsule to avoid those other ingredients?
Interesting discussion. The lab results will be the most important as I am aware many "nutrient" brands fail miserably in providing you with what they state on the label.
Nice overview on value determination.
Interesting. BUT it assumes the manufacturer is NOT lying. Many supplement manufacturers lie………. It makes them more money [This is a general comment; not meaning to have a go at the presenter, because I value his advice]
Apologies. At the end he answered my question by saying he sent them all to be analysed - Impressed!
You are the man. Thanks. I can't wait for results @natural-informant
@@dennisgin2850 lies or not, using the info contained herein is better than randomly picking up a bottle off the shelf. If you have a source you trust, then by all means buy from them even if the FU\$ is greater.
I want to take this supplement but I heard (on reddit, which is very unreliable) that it may have contributed to Steve Kirsch’s ocular bleed and vision loss. I do have a thinning retina so this is concerning. Has anyone had any complications while taking Nattokinase?
Will you do a video on best protocol for microclots?
Dr's Best isn't the worst supplement brand. But in this case, it has maltodextrin. And it shows that the nattokinase is not isolated, thus still has the soy allergen.
I take Nattovena one it's economic If you buy 180 capsules bottle 4000fu each capsule
@@haidersyed6554 Not only that. Apparently the nattokinase is isolated from the soy. Also, it only has 1 other ingredient.
But the problem is only from 6000 FU it is potent according to the studies, so you have to take 2 capsules a day which makes Nattovena expensive
Thank you for your efforts and indight into Natto products!
Amazing, thank you so much!
You're very welcome!
the best one is definitely Nattovena.

Does anyone have studies that show nattokinase is actually effective in stopping or reducing clots in the blood?
What is the difference between nattokinase and serrapeptase?
You are awesome! Thanks for taking the time to educate us 👍
🙏
The study I saw that administered 2000 FU/D didn't show promising results. The study that showed reversal of atherosclerosis administered 10,800 FU/D and some participants also received 180mcg of K2 and/or 100mg of ASA.
They are results even at lower dosages, but from what I understood (..before I got a headache from all the studies I read..) is that it depends on the parameters of each study ie potency of the extract, the health status of the subjects etc
Sounds about right
How is enteric coated different? I heard they need to be enteric coated is that true?
It is easy to boil and ferment soy beans. Get the Natto benefit from its source. It's better and less expensive too.
Third party testing is the most important thing to us

Hey Danny, do you think it’s beneficial for someone with a healthy heart to take Natto?
I recently had chest pains and went to see my doctor. He referred me to a cardiologist. My EKG was normal, echocardiogram was normal, and CT scan calcium score was zero. The Dr said I probably just had costochondritis.
Anyway, do you think it’s beneficial for someone with a healthy heart to take natto as a preventative?
Should it be enteric to bypass stomach acid ?
Thank you Danny
Why should Nattokinase be free of soy???
Thku Danny❣️
What about Liposomal Nattokinase, Serrapeptase by Naering? 12,000 FU?
Not sure at this time, but any product I didn’t cover, go ahead and use the formulas I talked about in the video to figure out the potency and value.
I take the Arthur Andrew with 14000iu plus Serrapeptase
You didn't mention the cleanest Natto product on Amazon which is organic. The one by Pharmakon with 6000FU.
When I checked with the manufacturer, they said the half-life is 12 hours so take twice a day on an empty stomach.
I wish you covered Liposomal vs. non-Liposomal forms... and you didn't cover the Nutricost offering, which only has Rice flour & the hypromellose capsule as added ingredients. No gut-irritating Mg stearate, and no sand (silica).
What about enteric coating? Is that important?
What about the breakdown of the type of nattokinase, like MK4 or MK7? Doesn't that affect how potent or how long it lasts in the body?
You’re confusing two types of Vitamin K2 (MK4&7), with the enzyme nattokinase.
Might Nattokinase help you reduce D-Dimer? I really need to lower mine. Thanks
According to the famous Cardiologist, Dr. Peter McCullough, Nattokinase can reduce micro clotting that has been detected on the D-Dimer blood test.
Are the lab test results back yet?
$50 for this supplement.

You'ld think the medical and insurance companies would allow this as a covered prescription necessity- for it's health benefits.

When are the tests expected to come back?
They're back, I'm putting the results video together now
@@natural-informant Thanks! Have you considered doing a similar test with serrapeptase? The two work great together!

You are absolutely correct!
Third party testing should show how much of the claimed product is actually in the item, other channels have demonstrated that it can be FAR less than advertised with some products shockingly being fraudulent by containing absolutely none of what is advertised!
excellent video
Thank you very much!
@@natural-informant Don't forget -there is zero reason for it to be added at all.
Real question is, do they actually work on arterial plaque
What about double wood brand?
Not sure at this time, but go ahead and use the formulas I talked about for any product that you currently use.
What about whether a brand uses enterically-coated capsules or not? Does that matter for effectiveness?

Did you know the Red Yeast rice is a statin in lower mg. .?
@@julielindholme9584 I have never heard that, but I will look into it. Thanks.
Good luck.

@@natural-informant Thank you very much for this helpful explanation.
