    You are a superior physician who cares so much to share your knowledge with us to help us age better and have healthier lives. Some viewers expect so much of you, like recipes. You are not a chef. You try things to cook for yourself and your family and such recipes may not really be tasty for others' palates or their oven variability etc. Chefs spend a lot fo time perfecting recipes. Viewers would only come back with more criticism instead of appreciating your TREMENDOUS efforts educating us in physiology, biochemistry, food additives, and metabolism, etc. etc. etc!!!! Your genius should be appreciated to the enth degree! Thank you for helping me and many thousands!

    LOVE your channel! .... that said ... I don't understand why there is no CONSENSUS among doctors about WHAT to eat ... There are a lot of distinguished docs here on UA-cam who are "total carnivore" or advocate "total keto" ... makes it VERY CONFUSING!

  • @homomorphic
    @homomorphic 7 годин тому +3

    You don't need to fast beyond 24 hours. If you are ketotic, then you begin significant autophagy after ~12 hours of fasting. I activate autophagy everyday via a combination of fasting and exercise. I am in ketosis every day even though I eat carbs (I have a granny smith apple every day).
    The trick to getting autophagy with intermittent fasting is to keep the glycogen store empty. This is done (when eating low carb) by exercising to burn off the glycogen store every day, once the glycogen is gone and you're engaged in exercise autophagy is entered immediately. I spend a good 2 hours a day in autophagy this way. That adds up to 14 hours of autophagy per week which is a more than adequate amount of autophagy.
    None of this is conjecture, I measured my ketone 2×/day for 10 days to confirm this cycle.

    According to doctors, the best flour is:
    + Whole wheat flour contains fiber, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that help improve heart health, blood sugar, and increase longevity.
    + Ancient grains (like spelt) are nutritious and have not been modified through crossbreeding.
