Thanks for including the rods in this update. I liked your past introduction to the $900 reel, but what is shown here is much more practical for me. The only mistake I've made with OKUMA is thinking I could cast like the Beach Bomber as soon as I opened the box.
I unfortunately live in the panhandle of Texas and can’t saltwater fish very much. I try to go 2-3 times a year if I can, but decided I’m gonna probably go all okuma gear. Not crazy expensive like other brands, seems to hold up well especially for me only using them a few times a year should last forever! thanks for the videos! You’ve Really made me wanna get into making videos one day both on salt and freshwater so we’ll see! Tight lines
It’s wild how much Okuma has stepped up their game. I remember back when the Solaris was their top tier rod. I need to get me a Cortez one day. My conventional reels are too big for casting.
Hi, just getting into surf fishing, and I am looking for a rod/reel combo that's versatile for the beach and piers. Any recommendations or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!
awesome content, love the channel keep up the good work. just a heads up, i tried to get the Rockaway HD on your recommendation and Okuma says they don't make the 12' Rockaway HD anymore. closest i saw was the Solaris SSX 12' H but it doesn't have the dbl locker reel seat like the Rockaways do. The Solaris is $124.99 and if they did make the Rockaway it'd probably be in the $159.99 ball park.
There is definitely a trend of new, younger guys to be "over gunned"...nearshore tarpon fishing off Galveston, we regularly use 30lb mono on smaller setups and 50lb mono on the big guns, of course with the appropriate leaders. We're talking 125-150lb tarpon with an occasional big girl. If your drag is 15-20lbs, 30 to 50lb max for the main line is more than enough. Cheers 🤠
Thanks for the informative videos! New to your channel but already can see awesome value in your experience. Looking to buy my first beach rod and I really like the rockaway hd rods you mentioned. If I could only have one size to do it all.. baitcasting and jigging... rockaway hd 12ft or should I go shorter for lighter lure range? I'm stuck. I still want the long cast but not sure if I can jig with the HD 12ft? What do you recommend?
Hello I was wondering how you like the rockaway surf rod with the surf-8k spinning reel I am brand new to salt water fishing and would like to hear your opinion on the rod and if you think that would be a good setup for me thanks
Hey brother loved the video but I'm having a hard time finding that last rod on the video. You said you left a link for the stuff and i don't see the links in the description
Living the dream baby. I guarantee you not one Angler will turn down a major brand reel company sponsorship. Dudes be getting mad because their favorite content creator is moving up. You guys ever give Jon B and the googan squad or other creators when they hey sponsored? I bet your favorite shark content creators are also sponsored. I am living the dream sponsored and using some of the best reels on the market. I fish for a living and can travel anywhere on the coast in my camper. I love being sponsored.
Come on brother dont hate content creators get like 1/2 a penny per view they all pray for sponsors funny you dont say anything about free TV all of its sponsorship
Just got the Okuma flite and conflicted on whether doing mono or braid for inshore live bait casting. Was thinking going 17-20lb mono for a bit further casting, but was curious about what you would recommend shock leader wise?
Dude I bought a blue runner from academy I couldn't get a bite I don't wanna go surf fishing anymore I got stuck twice lol I'd rather go for jetties but I have trouble throwing lures like what's a good weight to throw it with a 7 foot rod I took the 12 foot rod to the jetties but no luck help me out with sizes n weights for jetties I got a 7 n 12 I slipped on the jetties n broke my reel lol gotta super glue it first time on jetties n a asian group caught red drums n sheepshead but I'm kinda lost on leaders n hook sizes for big reds
Can you tell us how the breakaway drumstick compares to your other breakaway rods tha you showed is the drum stick stiffer than than the hdx and the omega
The drum stick heavy is much stiffer than the omega, but not as stiff as the hdx. Breakaway offers two versions of the drumstick. He has a light and a heavy.
@@BeachBomberFishing I haven’t fished them north of POC much but caught almost everything on them between POC and the Rio. Lots of mackerel and jacks. A few sharks over the years too. I think Nick sold me my first one in the early-mid 2000s.
@@BeachBomberFishing definitely a good lure. The old man that built the originals had it figured out. It’s amazing how many different species would eat them. I never got the 1oz versions but I had the bigger ones. The long blade and the egg-shaped ones. Caught a few trout on them over time by accident.
Should be a rule that if we have an Okuma set up and don't catch fish, we gotta go fishin' with the beach bomber. Can't do a nice set up a disservice by getting skunked 💀💀💀💀💀💀
@CrazyAlbertoKnee get an effin life man. I just scrolled through your account. You're just a keyboard warrior that's hides behind the safety of your phone screen.
Your “mid-range” is high-range for me. 😂Had to settle for a couple of Offshore Angler rods for my new 400 series baitcasters. The ones I wanted were 189 a piece. 🫤Is what it is. Love the channel BTW.

Oh no, what happened lol!?
Lol
Beach Bomber sticker = +50 yards to your cast
Elite AF sticker = +5 lbs of drag.
Lmfao hell yeah
The best fisherman on utube
I am loving the Offshore Angler Breakwater Surf Spinning Rod you covered a while ago, that thing casts great. I should make a video on it....
Do it Nicarrrrrrrrrrragua

THE BLOOPERS BRO 😄😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
The skunks 💀🤡🤣
@@BeachBomberFishing gotta put together a blooper real 😁😁😁😁
Hey Beach Bomber.
Last year I inherited a 12 foot Penn Carnage rod and it has an Abu Garcia Morrum m7700cl on it.
Your thoughts?
Congratulations The Fish Guys on graduating!!! Love the big guy, I think Stu is a great
does the weight ratio on the rod eg 3 to 6 oz include the bait weight or is it just for the sinker ?
Thanks for another informative video. How does the Okuma Solaris SSX compare to the Breakaway rods you have used?
It's an outstanding budget option, but it's not a breakaway.
Is Breakaway still doing the Bomber10 discount?
I tried to use it for a Drumstick rod and it did not appear to work. Thanks.
It works, they will see the code in the office and will take the discount off
I called nick at breakaway, he said to type bomber10 in the notes.
@@BeachBomberFishing Thanks buddy, I really appreciate it. Are you still loving your Drumstick spinning version?
Love it, I'm gonna take it to the beach tomorrow.
@@BeachBomberFishing Good deal. I’m getting the casting version.
You think a Saragossa 14000 wit a 12 ft rod is to much for surf fishing? Planning on running 30lb or 40lb braids for longer cast
Good vidéo. What'is the complète reference for the first fixespool okuma in that vidéo
Thank for your replu
Hey brother what type of line and test do you have on each reel? I love the black stealth look!
They're all 50lb braid beo

I agree, I see guys with avet LX spooled with 65lb braid. All that to fish for bull reds and sharks at the pier 🤣.
Take me with you next time, I'll pitch in for gas lol!

@@michaelrensel9256 lmfao which one? I've caught 2 massive ones there.
My one Okuma holds like maybe one third the line of your spinning reel lol. It's my baby that I have four pounds mono on.

How did you change your reel seat on your rod? I used to build rods like twenty years ago and I'd end up wrecking my rods.
had a question off the subject. when staying in PA. at walter humphrey in the camper what do u pay and where do u park it i went down there tonight
Get going bro 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Very good sharing sir..I learned a lot from your video for me to make a video about beach fishing..
The only issue with okuma is having replacement parts! I stay with Penn!
How do these Okuma compare to the Conflict LC you use to throw? Do they have less body flex under strain?
Tell me your sponsored without telling me that your sponsored 😂😂😂😂😂
