Just wanted to comment about something. Fuck all those FB haters i saw how they hate on your posts. Acting like a bunch of bitches but good on you for commenting back with positive attitude. Those type of guys that act like they OWN fishing are the reason why people that actually want to learn how to fish don’t do it. You give people like myself more information that I need to become better at fishing. Thank you for what you do keep it up!!!
Thanks man, I appreciate that. 🙌🏼 that means a lot! I’m glad you’re getting good info out of my video! 👏🏼
Penn rods are absolute gems!!……Powerstick….Whatever surf rods they have….even an old 9weight fly rod….Lamii Ron Arra is my fave but I liove Penn rods …
Love getting a new video. Going this weekend for your table !!
Awesome! See you there!
Best wishes to you both on the announcement of the baby. Keep that positive aura . I remember when she was expecting before how time flies . All the best.
Thank you very much!
You should have at least one japanese rod if you really like fishing.
I love the tsunami air wave and air wave elite both are great rods!!!
The Elite is fantastic as well! It’s a fun back bay rod!
spring time/back bay is tsunami elite light 8'6 - and my summer season is ODM DNA 9'
You need to try Cashion surf and inshore rods. Made in the USA with forever warranty
Thank you brother ❤I'm the beginner in this field what is different between surf fishing and bass fishing
I am so excited to see you at the fishing convention
See you this week!
@@GetReelBassFishing yep and I am going to buy one of the hats if you have them
When I first started out I was using Penn rods and they were fine but I moved up to St. Croix Triumphs and wow what a difference. Like you I use 9' for back bays and the 10' for open surf. I pair it up with 4000 size Vanford and man its so light I can cast out all day. I just wished I moved up directly to the Seage line, I bet they're even better.
Hey man, the Triumphs are great! When the time comes, get the Seage, no need to blow through a budget when you have something that works great already! The vanford is insane too! Such a great reel, and sooooo lightweight! I’ll have to try that combo some time! Good luck this season!!
How do you feel about the Breakaway 13ft. HD-X? How do you feel about Breakaway in general? ( Pulley rigs, clip downs, etc)
I broke my seage 9ft 1-4 0z and st croix gave me a replacement with 15yr warranty. I also purchased the 10.6 2-6 0z i cant wait to put it to use at the shinicock.
They’re both great rods! And St Croixs warranties are amazing!!
What size of reel did you pair the seage with looking to get the same combo ?
Great info. I was hoping to fund some used freshwater gear at the show even though its mostly saltwater
Thanks! Im sure you’ll find some freshwater rods for sale. A lot of guys use freshwater crankin rods for fluke fishing. So you may find some!
@@GetReelBassFishing see you there. I will bring that ketch board for you
Thanks man! See you!
what do you think about the penn squadron 3 10 foot medium heavy?
What is the best surf rod under $100
nice rods
Thanks!
My two favorite surf rods are at 10 foot lemiglass GSB and a 10 foot St. Croix seage both 10ft medium
🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 those are great to have in the line up!
@@GetReelBassFishing and of course the super surf 2g pro excellent rod a little bit stiffer than the lima glass
It’s Rocco from the fishing show did you have a good time I hope so ❤❤🎉
I have 2 Seage rods and like them very much, but the best surf rod I own is a Century Surf Machine 11'3" 1-6 oz. I highly recommend this rod. I paired it with a Shimano Ultegra CI4 14000 with Power Pro Maxcuratro line for maximum casting distance.
I’m glad you like the Seage rods too! That max cuatro braid is no joke!!
I got confused why you fish with an amazing and expensive rod but pair it with a cheap reel. Just asking because I’m a beginner and avid learner so I just got curious about that.
What do you mean?
@@GetReelBassFishing I mean that he might be wise to invest more money in the best rod (this one is 760.00) and less at the reel (300.00). We more often see the other way round.
yes…i have 11ft, 3/4-5oz, very sensitive
I remember when you first started, you were using the salt x
I was using the SaltX. It was an outstanding rod! But the weight and feel of this new st croix seage, makes me stay with it instead of using my SaltX as much.
I know you're a young guy so this might not be fair, what older surf rods from decades past are good to scoop up when we see them at garage sales and the likes and on CL and FB? Haven't gone surf casting since a teen in the 70s. Want to get some reliable good stuff at a reasonable entry point before spending stupid money until I'm Hooked... Get it... Hooked? LOL Brands that are always Great stuff, even from the 70s and 80s? Already picked up a Diawa 4000C in pristine condition for $35. Yeah.. So I'm old and LIKE old things! Thanks for sharing your experience. I already got my 4X4 Beach Fishing permit and getting all the other stuff to be legal; So MUCH STUFF. just to see if I'll like a more healthy way to get outside! Maybe Dinner too?
I have the 10’6” Seage and love it!
I went to Bass Pro to get the 9’. I saw 9’ MMF.
However, I noticed the girth was not the same as the 10’6”…. The 9’ was thinner.
But your video here the 9’ handle girth appears the same as the 10.
Unless the 9’ I saw was ML. Which would make sense- thinner. I end up not buying it.
Thoughts?
The 10’6 is my favorite! So, I have the 9’ MMF, and the 10’ MMF. I’m not sure if the grip is the same size, however the blank is thinner. The 10’ upper 70% is very very loose on the 9’ lower 30%.
The 9’ is great when fishing back bays and you don’t want to whip a 10’6 all day long. That’s what I use my 9’ for. Just as good as the 10’
The new St. Croix triumphs are in 7030 splits now
🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 great rods
How does seage compare to the legend surf, some people say legend is the pinnacle of St croix rods
If you only had 2 rods for stripper fishing what would they be? 1 for heavy gear and 1 for slightly lighter gear for fishing the cape cod canal
St croix Seage 9’ MMF and a Seage 10’6” MHMF
@@GetReelBassFishing do you use Mono backing on your reels? If so what LB test and how many yards
surf machine, surf machine elite, or cts vapor trail
Any thoughts on the 10’6” Seage Med Mod vs the 10’ Med ModFast you have? I’m only going to have one lure rod for the beach, and am thinking of grabbing the extra distance just in case I need it. But would it be a big difference?
I haven't fished with the 10'6" MM but I have fished with the 10'6" MHMF - which is the rod that I lost when I got hit by the wave on the jetty, and the rod I caught the 52" on. I loved that rod. I wish I could get another 10'6" MHMF to be honest. I've held the 9' MM and it seemed pretty nice for swimming plugs, so I would assume the 10'6" feels the same, just a little bit longer.
@@GetReelBassFishing thanks! Keep these videos coming.
@@GetReelBassFishing actually could I ask a follow-up? The line rating on the 106MHMF is the same (20-50) as on the 106MM, so conceivably they could handle the same class of fish right? It’s just a matter of (1) how much power you have to horse it in; and (2) the weight of lure you can throw? (No. 2 is why I lean toward the MM; would like to be able to throw lighter lures farther…). Is that all right, in terms of rod physics, or am I misunderstanding something?
I would go with the one he said. MHMF. I have the Seage 10.6 MM and I feel it a little too soft.
overall, yes. If you want to throw lighter lures, and thinner gauge Hooks, use the MM, if you want to throw heavier lures like big bucktails with large wire gauge hooks, or larger metal lips, fish the MHMF (my preferred rod)
What do you think is the best setup under 200?
daiwa emcast surf rod + any daiwa reel under$120
You need to try Ninja!
i like daiwa emcast
Any thoughts on dark matter products?
I’ve only ever used 1 dark matter rod, and it was a good rod - nothing bad to say about it. I high sticked it on a jetty and blew it up into 3 pieces. But that was all on me.
I wonder why you never tried a GSB Lamiglas which is a stripper classic.
To be honest, I could never find one in the action I liked at any shop.
@@GetReelBassFishing thank you so much for your answer buddy! I guess that you are talking about the GSB Medium Heavy. They only make the MH in one piece. Maybe that’s the reason why it’s harder to find it. Coincidentally I called them today after watching your video because I came up with a question. I bought a GSB moderate because I wanted to have one more rod beside my Seage MM. So I would still have a moderate but they have different specs. The GSB moderate is 2-6 oz lure/ The Seage MM is 3/4 - 4 oz. At the same time the GSB line is 17-40 and the Seage is 20-50. That’s my question, I mean double question: 1) is the GSB a good pair for the Seage? 2) the Seage goes up to 4oz (less than the GSB with 5oz) but the line go up to 50 and GSB up to 40. Isn’t that weird?
I will love to receive your perspectives about all that!
@@GetReelBassFishing dear friend I hope you can answer my question above. I’m so curious about your wisdom knowledge on top of that matter.
I like your videos but I have to say that typewriter sound is really distracting
Thanks for the feed back man! I appreciate that. I’ll take that into consideration.
You only catch small fish lol.
At least they’re bigger then yours 👏🏼🤙🏼
...Mine is bigger than yours. Men. @@GetReelBassFishing
