    Instead of getting a whole cat back exhaust system people can just get a Borla or Magna Flow muffler and get the same or better sound, and a lot cheaper !...$150 more or less.

  • @Jerlemi2
    @Jerlemi2 2 роки тому +2

    I’m always wondering why tf Toyota didn’t include led lights from factory. You know with the truck being way overpriced and all. Seems like a minor expense for them since they charge so much…
    Oh and while you are adding those 33s, you best be prepared to drop 3k on 4.88 gearing to go with it. The factory 3.90 gearing is way too weak for those larger tires. Trust me, I have the same setup as this guy and I’m about to upgrade to nitro 4.88. It will finally solve the transmission gear searching issues that plague the 3rd gen Tacomas.

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  2 роки тому

      I don't believe the Tacoma is overpriced at all. Yes they are expensive, but they sell and are one of the best mid size trucks! But I do agree that LED's should come standard and I believe the newer models have that.
      And I know people with 34's with stock gears and they do just fine. I had absolutely NO problems with the stock gears and 33's. The stock gears aren't weak for 33's at all. I did eventually go to 5.29's with my 34's, but it wasn't for the larger tires, it was for the gear searching. The Tacomas has that issues even with stock tires, so the gearing helps with the transmission, not the size of the tires necessarily.

    • @Jerlemi2
      @Jerlemi2 2 роки тому +1

      @@BrosFOURRSpeed it’s gear searching because the stock ratio of 3.90 is way too low. At least that what I’ve been reading from the nitro guys. Bare minimum, it should have 4.30, which the manual trans have. My truck never sees 6th gear unless I’m going downhill. I too have 33s and I can feel a huge difference now. There is definitely a strain when I’m driving on the highway. I’ll be upgrading to the 4.88s. soon. Crossing my fingers.

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  2 роки тому

      @@Jerlemi2 I know the stock gears aren’t as good for the shifting points. But I never felt a strain with the 33’s is what I was saying. I have a friend with stock gears on 34’s and he doesn’t have any issues with it. But I do like the gears because my truck uses 6th on the highway now! I just haven’t seen a difference with larger tires, seems the same other than on the highway using 6th.

    LEDs won't work as they should either.
    So yeah if you are gonna upgrade the housing it's a great idea. But the reason you don't think they work well is because you have fog lights on that you probably drive around with that are a different temperature than your headlights. Giving you the feeling that your lights arent working well.

    I have been watching these tacoma videos for some time now, and what blows my mind is not once has anyone mentioned that when lifting or changing the tire size, you change the reading on the speedometer and/or lose fuel mileage when doing so. When someone going to bring this up, or are you just promoting a product to make money off of it?

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  2 роки тому +1

      Unless you are brand new to lifting a vehicle, bigger tires will always affect the mpg and speedo. Even with my current 34's on my Tacoma, I'm around 3-4 mph faster on the speedo than stock, but I just have to remember that and average around 15.5. But the point of lifting and going with bigger tires isn't about mpg lol, you throw that out the window the minute you put bigger tires on! I'm not prompting anything in this video if that's what you are talking about, just mods that are fun and enjoyable to truck enthusiasts and what some functional parts for offroading or in general. I love the setup of my truck and just sharing what I think are great parts to add.
