For holding the glass in you should look at using glaziers points, usually dirt cheap and if you ever have to replace the glass it's a lot easier to remove them, especially if the glass breaks.
I want to congratulate you on your video is very simple and easy to make, I have seen many and only give you measures tips and way to do. you do it right you're a smart girl
I am so glad I found your channel!!! Your videos are perfect, the music doesn’t overpower your voiceover, you describe everything clearly and your work is beautiful! Excited to binge watch your channel 😁
I might be blind but do you have a video on your trick for cutting crown molding? Yours always look perfect! If you don't have one you should put one together, there is a lot of us who would benefit from it. Love this cabinet you built, I have watched this several times in anticipation of building one. Thanks for sharing you are an inspiration! Your talent shines in your projects! Have a beautiful day
Thank you so much!! I don’t have any tricks to crown molding...just a lot of practice. Basically, you set the saw to 45, flip the crown upside down and cut. The most important part is making sure to hold it so the flat pieces on the top and bottom are perfectly flush against the fence and the bottom plate of the miter saw. No tricks! There’s tons of videos out there on it already 😉😄
All the hard work you put in and how beautiful it turned out I pray for whoever gave this a thumbs down. Every project is unique specially working with wood no project will ever be perfect but this was amazing job and anyone that would be a critic is just mean. You can give advice where you think something would be better but to take the time to click the thumbs down I pray that God will soften your harden heart before its to late! Great Great Job Shara you are inspiring, GOD BLESS:)
I don't normally subscribe to any channels, only to 3 so far, but really enjoyed last few of your videos which gave me some great ideas on how to do things I'm planning to build, so you deserve another subscriber!! Thanks for the videos.
Some great tips in there for my upcoming bathroom cabinet project, thank you!! Thought I'd share a couple of my own (well, from people who have lots more experience than me!) - Use silicon sealant beading instead of glue for glass, as it gives the glass more flex. - Gluing edge-edge grain is stronger without dowels (or biscuits), and if gluing end grain, use mitre joints with dowels or keys so the dowels don't bury directly into the edge grain, where it can splay. If you're worried that the boards will slide when clamping without dowels, a pinch of salt along the join will prevent that.
I'm really liking this design. I think if you shrunk it down you could put it on top of a double vanity to give some separation. Obviously you'd need to have a decent size double vanity to do so, but would look awesome.
The large latch is a bold and beautiful choice. It is a nice contrast to the "lightness" of the window panes. And the simple raised panels are a great choice too.
Omg you amaze me each project! Good job Shara and thanks for sharing. Commented to quickly, I’ve never heard of a Cremone bolt. That thing is awesome, reminds me of something you’d see in a Victorian piece yet with your cabinet it enhances in that modern way. I really enjoyed the methods of joinery you share and the details of Cremone bolts and other hardware, metals just bring it to the next level. I can’t wait to see what else you have in mind and the bolts and details you come up with in later projects because honestly, the cabinet is gorgeous already but when you installed the Cremone bolt it elevated it to a one of a kind for me. Something way off topic, I’m wanting to add in a mitre station attached to my garage wall but one that stores moveable cabinets underneath, (Ana White teamed up with ryobi to build garage shelving that also stored mitre saw/table saw tables that rolled out yet when put together all heights met up for multi purpose function for ie: a storage table was same height as table saw to join and make a safe out feed table with storage) anyways, because I’m short I’d have to make movable tables shorter to fit under a shorter than normal workbench so I can comfortably stand and use the workbench. I saw a solution to adjustable height tables/cabinets by installing a scissor jack onto the work table either at the bottom or top to adjust to the height needed. Curious your take on an adjustable height work table that could be rolled and stored under a workbench/mitre station that’s attached to a wall? Way off topic Ik, but the concept is fascinating and problem solving for us non gigantic builders that struggle with heights, lol embarrassing problem standing on tippy toes lmao! Curious your thoughts or take on something like this. Love this build you’ve just made, its high quality all around and again that Cremona bolt... damn!!! Top level ;)
Great cabinet. If you use a little bit of painters tape and tape up the hole on the dowel jig that you won't be using, it will prevent mistake holes. Hope that helps.
Beautiful project. Great job of putting the video together also. There was one cringe worthy moment and that was when you glued the glass in place. Potential pain if it needs to be removed or replaced. Would recommend glass retainers. Easy to make with your skill set. Thanks for a great video!
Really like the look and design of this cabinet, with the molding it adds a classic look that most modern cabinets lack these days. I know this might seem like a stretch to ask, but is there a price range to be predicted?
To install glass of that size, use quarter-round molding and silicone glue. Instead of one large sheet of glass, you could have installed smaller panes of glass. If a break or crack occurs, it would be much easier and cheaper to replace a small pane of glass than one large one. Instead of glue, use silicone and/or glazing. Glue increases the likelihood of a glass break or crack. You need to allow the glass to flex and move a bit. Silicone is flexible. If you don't want to use molding to hold your smaller panes of glass, use a trowel or putty knife to push window spikes into the wood at a few strategic locations.
Great advice. However I’ve installed several glass panels in a few of my pieces and they’re still holding up great. Nothing loose. Nothing cracked and nothing broken. One of them I built about five years ago 👍
Wow! This is great and fun to watch you work. I wish I had the $, space and time to devote to another hobby. This cabinet is beautiful and it's fantastic you make videos with all the info for those that also do woodworking. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing.
Great Job! I think this is the video that I needed to help give me confidence to do a custom cabinet build myself! Thank you! First time I've found your videos, I will be subscribing and checking out more of your videos for sure! Lastly, did you use anything special for the shelves? Or just regular planks or plywood?
Girl, you're amazing! That cabinet looks fantastic! I can't even make a square cut, so I won't try this. But I enjoyed watching your build. Good video editing too. Keep up the good work!
Top rate skills & application, excellent results! Did seem as if you were on a time schedule with regard to voice over, a little difficult keeping up. Anyway, great job!
Do you have a rough cost of what the total cost in materials was. I completely understand lumber price fluctuate greatly but it will still give me ballpark. Kinda lol
I don’t. This was several years ago. But the materials list can be found here and you can figure cost for these materials currently and in your location to get a good idea: www.woodshopdiaries.com/diy-linen-cabinet-with-glass-door/
Ty very much for responding! I didn’t look at the date of video but knew there was a good chance of it being older. I didn’t think there was a high chance of a response. But you did and in my book that was very kind of you. Ty Ty:-)
Great job on this! Could I make a suggestion? The voice over pace seemed a little fast, especially in the first part of the video. Slowing down just a tad would be helpful. But, great job on the video and the build!
@@GeometricMason I'm all for people working hard and making money from their craft. I made a suggestion, you're unnecessarily criticizing. Adding a smiley face at the end doesn't lessen that.
I respect that you include mistakes, along with ideas on how to fix them. Helps me not panic when building my own projects. Keep up the good work!
The loved the idea of gluing the wood together to get 11/2". And that was very extraordinary work

Speechless Wow. This exactly what I want for my living room. God bless you and your beautiful family.
I always find your projects top-notch quality, always something I'd like to do for myself.
I really appreciate that! Thank you!
God willin I will follow this video step by step and build this for my wife one day:)
Happy building!!

Amanda thank you so much! I so appreciate that and I’m so glad to have you following along
Very nice! Like how you used simple 1 x 2's as trim on the sides. Don't let my wife see this. She will want one.
Thank you! Haha maybe you should build one and surprise her 😉

Exactly what I was looking for!! We will modify to make it twice as wide and use in our family room. Thank you!!

I love this. Found a design similar a year ago. Have a old pie cabinet like this I'm going to do this with.
That sounds like an awesome project!

joel thoenen that’s a great idea! This would totally work in a smaller version for the middle section of a double vanity 👍

Such a good look with the glass.

Good job Shara

That’s awesome. I think I might give that a shot. Luckily I can get “scrap” 4x4 red oak at work. It’ll be fun to make the boards out of those.
Looks like Restoration Hardware. Great Job

Was that oak s4s? Those glue ups came out great, didn't look like they needed much sanding.

Beautiful
