I’m just getting into woodworking. Your videos are by far the easiest to understand. I love the way you explain everything before you do it. I feel like I can tackle any project now!
Aw this is nice! Such a useful piece and, as is the norm around here, elegantly simple. I really like how you took some extra time for explaining some of the design subtleties and watch-outs, and the new info pop up balloons are a fun touch. Thanks for keeping it real - woodworking projects don’t always go 100% smoothly and I have to take brief breaks to blow off a little steam on most every project 🤪. But it turned out great! Looking forward to seeing it in place.
Thank you so much! It’s funny to watch myself throw tantrums on camera and realize how silly all of this is sometimes. Keeps things in perspective and gives me a chance to laugh at myself and remember next time-chill out. This isn’t that big of a deal 🤣 So glad you enjoyed the video and the extra little tidbits (and hopefully the pet appearances haha). I appreciate you watching and hope you have an amazing weekend!
Ohhh, so that’s what my cabinet is called in this vintage house from 1900🎉 The space was ruined over the past hundred plus years prior to my purchase at year 118. While looking up how to make new shaker doors (the others have lead paint in many layers plus they screwed up the hinges, etc.) your videos popped into the algorithm. Seeing this excites my reno goals. Imma restore the cabinet. The door shelves are awesome. 😊
Hi Shara. I started woodworking as a hobby after retiring. Your cabinet series was a handy tutorial. Your explanations are succinct, easy to follow, and your projects are very practical. Thanks.
It's stunning and so functional. And always love seeing Lou and Bub. It sounds like you're going to be sharing the whole pantry project. At least I hope so!
Thank you so much! I will be showing the pantry build out in stages. It’s a weird layout so we’ve got to move a doorway, which requires moving a light switch. I’m hoping to attempt making it an arched doorway…we will see 😅 Then I’ll be sharing a few different parts and pieces I plan to add into it and a full reveal eventually (it’s going to be a process ha).
Very nice pantry cabinet! I really like the shelves you added on the inside of the doors. That’s a really nice way to use more of the space. Glad that Bub approved and Lou was willing to help you while it was raining! lol… They’re both precious! Have a great weekend Shara and keep on building!
Thank you so much! I’ve wanted to build one of these for years and I’m so glad to see it finally “come to life.” Bubs and Lou were vital to this project’s success 😆 I’m glad they were willing to help on it! I really appreciate you watching and I hope you have a great weekend as well! 😎
Another awesome build! I just finished building the modern bookcase with the drawer. It’s good to see that I’m not the only one who has a meltdown during a project.🤣🤣🤣
I have far more meltdowns than I’d prefer to have 🤣 but it upsets the dog, so I try to keep it together most of the time for her 🙈 In all honesty, watching it back always makes me laugh because I realize how petty and silly these things are. Like chill-it’s not that big of a deal 🤣 anyway…here’s to fewer meltdowns on our future builds 🤪
What did cats do for fun before video cameras were invented? My friends and I have a weekly zoom call, and the mantra has become "if it's cat-butt, it must be Thursday". Excellent and useful video, as always. I'm teaching myself to build cabinets so I can have a custom kitchen without breaking the bank. Your videos are among my favourites, so clear and concise.
Your design and build skills amaze me. I am equally amazed that you can have such a nice storage piece in your shop and NOT fill it with tools, scraps too good to throw away, and the other things that seem to breed in my shop! LOL! Good video, Shara. Thank you for sharing.
Haha thank you! But it’s only been finished in my shop for a couple days-so it may end up full of shop stuff before we ever get it moved inside 🙈 I really appreciate you watching and I hope you have a great weekend! 😎
OMG.....What a brilliant idea. I love this cabinet. What a great job Shara. This will absolutely be one of my next projects. I've been waiting for a great idea to redo my wacky pantry. YOU ARE THE GREATEST. Thanks a lot. Have a great weekend Shara. Steve
Hi! Thank you so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed it and I hope it inspires you for your own project. It sounds like we both have a wacky pantry that needs improving 😆 have a wonderful weekend as well and thank you again for watching!
Yay, a new video. New subscriber and I have been enjoying these builds, this one in particular. It is exactly what I want/need for my new home. Now I just need to get my shop set up.
Thank you for including your “tantrum” which was quite mild by way of tantrums go 😉 lol! I definitely have sympathy for your struggles but it’s nice to know I’m not the only one who gets frustrated and swears/yells/throws something when it feels like everything is going wrong all at once 😂
Haha well the audio was off-that made it less intense 🤣 but, no, you’re definitely not the only one! Mine seem to always happen when there’s glue involved. It’s on my hands, it’s on the clamps, it’s on the floor and the workbench and everywhere I don’t want it to be. And there’s a limited time to get things where you need them before it’s too late. 🙈 I can’t handle it 🤣
Another awesome step by step video. I have to build two closet pull out shelves that will function like a pull out pantry shelf, and this video gave me great tips. Thank you so much.
I wanted to say thank you for the video. Watching this not only was it raining, but it looks like it was pretty hot. So, thank you for working through it.
Another great post and design, Shara. It's great to see the subscriber numbers have grown. Your teaching and building skills are amazing. Wish I had a shop like yours! You've earned it, for sure. I hope the pantry build goes easily. Take care.
That is a nice pantry cabinet. The pull out drawers are a good idea in a on. Bubby and Lucy are still hanging with you in the shop... Thanks for sharing
🤣 I just made this almost exact design as a built-in three weeks ago! I used 4/4 poplar that I planed down to 7/8" for the shelves because of my 'over engineering ocd', but otherwise just like it. Yours looks better, great job.
The cabinet looks great. Very well designed and built. I was impressed with how good Bubby is at getting into the camera shot. His timing is amazing. Thanks for making and sharing this as I could see this was a lot of work making the tutorial.
god I love this channel. I literally watch everything you've put out! Your drawer building guide is top notch and this one is no different. Thanks for your insanely high quality content Shara!
This was an awesome build and I'm looking forward to seeing how you do the whole pantry!!! It's a shame you don't like the paint sheen as I know you dislike painting to begin with. It shouldn't take long to repaint it though. Looks like you had tons of help from Lucy and Bubby. I would love to have a cat like Bubs. He seems so loving and always wants to be near whatever you're doing. Thanks for another great project!!!
Shara, we've been dealing with a non-function pantry since we moved into this house (5+ years) so this project like others has our brain spinning. You'll know we've started when you see us purchasing the plans. We love your project and the outcome even if you find the sheen a bit off. Much love to Bubbs and Lucy. Hope you have a great weekend! You have us feeling inspired. Thanks for Sharing! 🙃🙂
We’ve been dealing with a very poorly designed pantry since we moved into our house 3 years ago, too! Seems like a common issue 😅 I hope this gave you some ideas for your own redesign! Good luck with the project 🙌 Bubs and Lou say hi! We appreciate you watching and hope you enjoy your weekend!
This is so funny. I missed this video 2 weeks ago (busy and lots of subscriptions to keep up with). Finally getting to watch it and you are wearing the same Red Cross shirt that I just brought in from my car, that I had apparently forgotten about 😅😬
This would definitely be my snack cabinet. I went to Costco today and got some steak strips, Chomps, and macadamia milk chocolate salted caramel clusters. 🥰🥰
I love Saturday mornings when you put out a new video :). As always, I appreciate your practical, affordable projects that can be completed with basic tools and the available plans.
This may sound silly, but I feel like you are my PERSONAL woodworking UA-camr. Literally EVERY video you make comes MOMENTS after I have an idea about building something similar. I was just thinking...."hmm, I need to build a nice cabinet to store all my photography gear." I hop on UA-cam (just for some ideas) and BOOM 12hr ago. TWELVE HOURS!!! I won't reveal what my next idea is, as I am CERTAIN if what has happened before continues. I have nothing to worry about. happy building.
Inhale one counter cabinet in my laundry room and a 1x10 shelf. I want to make a tall cabinet like this one, and a row of cabinets across the top of the machines. I look forward to seeing yout builds.
I always imagine you flying up every time you flip the built you created cause they're so huge for your size lol but as always that's amazing 😊 I was waiting like bubs to get his ears scratch he was deeply staring at your hand 😂
That shop is so nice! I wish I had the time to do this /: you make it look so easy which Im sure its not lol I rebuild engines for a living and this looks harder to me for some reason😂
2:24 Lesgo, the weekly Bub footage! ❤ 5:44 Okay, now we've gotten a Bub overload, especially since it's Lucy's turn. 6:48 See what I mean? 😂😂😂 8:43 Sometimes, that helps.❤ 9:00 There she is! 11:53 Okay, math... oh look, Bub is modelling. 14:01 I retract my previous statement about a "Bub overload" since that is proven false here. Thats impossible. 15:18 Oh, thats clever! Awesome idea that'll come in handy for many projects to come. What an awesome project for storage! It looks so clean and easily replicated for tons of additional room. Much easier than ripping into walls. Thanks for an awesome episode, Shara!
Haha Bubs likes to be in the way and Lou usually stays just out of the way. So Bubs naturally gets more camera time 🤣 Lucy, in all honesty, is a much better helper 😆 I’m so glad you enjoyed the build and the video! I really appreciate you following along and watching my crazy projects. I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend 😎
Prepper pantry for us is what we called ours we use ours for long term food storage and bulk storage and restocking and bulk paper products and are hba products in the one next to it 😊
Hi! Thanks so much! To make those, it would be the same as a slab door except instead of iron on edge banding, you’d just use some thin wood strips about 7/8”-1” wide to trim the outside edges. The thing about those is that makes your door 7/8”-1” (whatever your trim is) thick so you’d have to make sure you get hinges that will work with that thickness door.
I was trying to differentiate it from the pantry cabinet I built a few months ago since it’s similar but different 🙈 “Larder” cabinets kept coming up in my searches, so I went with it haha. Apparently back in the day, they’d cover their meat with lard and store it in cabinets similar to this to help preserve it, I guess 🤷♀️ so that’s where “larder” cabinet came in. Anyway-it’s a pantry 😂 I appreciate you watching and hope you have a great weekend!
I wish I had a space where I can scream and throw a temper tantrum! I also wish a DIY door would be my reason for screaming 🤭 Watching this curled up with my 2 cats, trying to temporarily forget the stressful things in life
Haha our neighbors probably don’t love it 🤣 but it’s doesn’t happen a lot ha. Enjoy some stress free time with your cats-pets are good at helping you forget your troubles. 💕
This is awesome! Question - would it have been better to use a 1x1 (something solid) to mount the drawer slides so you have a lot more meat to handle the weight of the drawers, especially once they're filled? 🤔 I plan to build 4 of these across the back wall of a room since my house has no storage. Seeing it come together is a huge help!!
Thank you! You could do it that way, too. But these braces can easily hold the weight capacity of the drawer slide. At the end of the day, the slides are rated for 100 lbs. so the bracing only has to be able to hold 100 lbs (and that’s distributed weight). So I’m not concerned. BUT, if you wanted to use thicker pieces, you can. Happy building!
I love the way this turned out - I'm trying to build a kitchen pantry that maximizes my space, where the width is 56 inches. What would you recommend doing?
Hey Shara, I have watched many of your cabinet builds and going to build or try to build a pantry that has like 6 foot high by 2 foot deep by 6 inch wide roll out shelves. About 4 or 5 side by side. would you have any suggestions or plans to that effect. or know where I can find some. thanks David.
His official name is Bubby. But he has a lot of nicknames for no reason: Bug, Bubs, Mr Bear, Mr Boo, Boogie Boo, Boogie, Shoogs, Shooga Boog…the list goes on 🤣
I applied a coat to this cabinet specifically (mostly because I wanted the wood grain a little darker but didn’t want to stain). But I didn’t seal my old kitchen cabinets or laundry room cabinets or shop cabinets. I just never felt the need and I’ve never regretted it so I just don’t usually.
I’m just getting into woodworking. Your videos are by far the easiest to understand. I love the way you explain everything before you do it. I feel like I can tackle any project now!

Yes! Yes! Yes! 🙃🙂

Hi, I love seeing the struggles of building. It gives a beginner hope that all will turn out well. 💖
Wow, I absolutely love your design and build of this Pantry Cabinet!
Well-done!
Really beautiful work, Shara! It turned out great! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thank you so much! I appreciate you watching and hope you have a great weekend!

I like the contrast between the outside and inside color! Thanks for the amazing projects with such kind of simplicity ✨✨
Very nice pantry cabinet. I'm glad I got to see this build as I'm going to build one similar but for storage in the garage
Thank you! This would be a great addition to the garage, too! Happy building 🔨

Great Project! You explained it very well and I appreciate that you used tools that any DIYer would likely own.
Beautiful pantry/larder. A larder can also be an entire room for food storage.
I just purchased your cabinet-building pack, and I'm loving it. It's such an awesome resource. Thanks for sharing!
Hi! Thanks so much for your purchase and support of my small business! 💕 happy building!
Amazing Shara! Another fine job...with the help of Bubs!
Steve

Bub being in the way is honestly the best part of the video. ❤
Love the idea, that can be used in many areas. For me, I need to have drawers on the top as well for easier access to items in the back. ❤
The great thing about this is that you can easily customize it to have drawers as high as you’d like them 🙌
Yay, a new video. New subscriber and I have been enjoying these builds, this one in particular. It is exactly what I want/need for my new home. Now I just need to get my shop set up.

Hello Sara, I'm in Brazil and I appreciate your work and your projects

Wow, great job. Love all the space the cabinet has. Doors can be used for spices that have little weight. Thanks for all your projects.
Another great post and design, Shara. It's great to see the subscriber numbers have grown. Your teaching and building skills are amazing. Wish I had a shop like yours! You've earned it, for sure. I hope the pantry build goes easily. Take care.

I still love your work. Everything is so accurate, perfect measured and looks awesome.
You are so talented! Your work is so precise and beautiful!
You’re so kind! I appreciate that 💕 thank you for watching!
Despite the frustrations with the door, you made it look easy. Thanks!
Great build. A pantry is on my list of projects. Lots before I get to it. But I love getting idea.s
I hope this gives you some inspiration! Happy building and have a great weekend!

Great job as always! Love how curious your shop helper is in these videos.
Love the design as always!! Can’t wait to see the finished pantry!
Thanks for sharing your wonderful builds. I am in the process of renovating my pantry soon. Love this cabinet.
Apparently Bug needed all of your attentions lol Great video, I was searching for something like this but here you are, saving my sanity!

Awww thank you!! I’m so glad you enjoy the videos and projects 💕 I appreciate you watching and hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Looks Great as usual. It's actually what I'm planning on building for my kitchen. I actually like building doors :)
you conquerd, (knew you would). I like the simplicity of it. thanx
Thank you for cheering me one! 🙌 have a great weekend!
i built ur dresser last christmas, i split the top set of drawers into x4 for socks and such, works great
This may sound silly, but I feel like you are my PERSONAL woodworking UA-camr. Literally EVERY video you make comes MOMENTS after I have an idea about building something similar. omg I was just looking for this, I was searching your channel if you have made such thing glad you now did YAYAYYYYY
Fantastic share. Thank you. I like it that you explain the wobbles. We all have them, especially me. LOL.
Inhale one counter cabinet in my laundry room and a 1x10 shelf. I want to make a tall cabinet like this one, and a row of cabinets across the top of the machines. I look forward to seeing yout builds.
Every time, i watch your video. Always admired how you used pocket hole screw without any clamps
I’m convinced there is witchcraft involved. 😂
You must feel good about making something that nice. We need something like that for our new house, now I see how much time and effort goes into it.
Beautiful like all you do thanks for your time
Thank you so much. I truly appreciate you watching!
Wonderful craftsmanship
Beautiful Build! Thank you!
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed it 🙌
I always imagine you flying up every time you flip the built you created cause they're so huge for your size lol but as always that's amazing 😊 I was waiting like bubs to get his ears scratch he was deeply staring at your hand 😂
What a great build!
That shop is so nice! I wish I had the time to do this /: you make it look so easy which Im sure its not lol I rebuild engines for a living and this looks harder to me for some reason😂
Awesome job!!
Thank you! I appreciate you watching and hope you have a great weekend!
awesome! I need to try making one just like it.
This is awesome 🧡 and a great idea 💡
Thank you so much! So glad you enjoyed it!
always excellent work!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that!
Amazing build, thank you for sharing.
2:24 Lesgo, the weekly Bub footage! ❤
5:44 Okay, now we've gotten a Bub overload, especially since it's Lucy's turn.
6:48 See what I mean? 😂😂😂
8:43 Sometimes, that helps.❤
9:00 There she is!
So Bubs naturally gets more camera time 🤣 Lucy, in all honesty, is a much better helper 😆
I’m so glad you enjoyed the build and the video! I really appreciate you following along and watching my crazy projects. I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend 😎
Nice work

That looks great.
Love your work
Cool job
I love your work🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
muy buen trabajo !!!
Love the Bubs! 🐈
If you’re filling that with snacks I’m headed over - you’ve been warned!!! It’s a gorgeous pantry!
Very nice
Thank you so much! I appreciate you watching!
Sehr gut, top Qualität 👍👍👍
Bub sure does know how to photo bomb,😂....a great project and it looks to have a ton of storage.
Beautiful work as always! I love your videos. Have you shown how to create a micro shaker cabinet door? I love that look
Beautiful ❤
Espectacular 😊😊😊😊
That's great!

I love your cat!
Thought maybe Larder was autoincorrect "Larger". This is awesome, I wish I had room for something like this
I was trying to differentiate it from the pantry cabinet I built a few months ago since it’s similar but different 🙈 “Larder” cabinets kept coming up in my searches, so I went with it haha. You’re so kind. Thank you so much for watching!
Awesome
I love the way this turned out - I'm trying to build a kitchen pantry that maximizes my space, where the width is 56 inches. What would you recommend doing?
I love your videos. You are very talented and I have learned a lot from you. I am thinking about buying a biscuit joiner, what do you think? Guy
I appreciate your kind words! I don’t have a biscuit joiner, so I don’t really have any thoughts to share on the topic.
14:03 For a very long time I thought the cat's name was Bug and have been trying to guess why. 😂
His official name is Bubby. But he has a lot of nicknames for no reason: Bug, Bubs, Mr Bear, Mr Boo, Boogie Boo, Boogie, Shoogs, Shooga Boog…the list goes on 🤣
Great build! Do you recommend minwax Polycrylic for finishing the inside of any kitchen cabinet?
I don’t finish mine but if I was going to that’s what I’d use
@@WoodshopDiaries interesting! Just not needed? I suppose my concern is with an spillage soaking into the plywood.
