I love that you build everything using simple prosumer tools that you can purchase at any local big box store. No lime green anywhere. You don't need to spend a fortune to get accuracy and a quality looking build. Cheers!
A lot of people like to tell me I need "better" tools, but honestly, I use the tools I do on purpose just to prove expensive tools aren't required to build nice things. Patience and determination have far more benefits than a $300 drill 😆 Anyway, I truly appreciate you watching and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
I'm forever impressed by your ability to just hold panels in place when driving in pocket hole screws. Mine shift around unless I've secured them with at least 150 clamps.
I know everyone works and experiences things differently, but I have more trouble using clamps than I do not using clamps in most assembly cases. There’s nothing wrong with either way, but it’s just funny how different things work for different people. 🤷♀️
That will be the fanciest garage cabinet in your parent's neighborhood! It turned out SO nice.......probably because of all the help you had from Bubby. He was definitely wanting to be near you today. Thanks for another great video!!!
Thank you so much! I can't wait to show it in its place in the next video! Bubs was definitely a lot of help haha. He put his stamp of approval on it, so I knew it was good to go! Thanks so much for watching and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
I'm in the process of updating our garage and making it a more useful space for the wife as she is always in need of a little extra storage. I'm going to build a tall storage cabinet similar to yours, and I will include the pull out shelves. I like that addition
That sounds like a great project. Extra storage is always a nice addition--and I'm sure your wife will love that you built it for her! Thanks so much for watching and happy building!
Thank you thank you… I have been searching for a diy build exactly like this!!! You rock! I just love your designs and explanation of how to do these projects yourself instead of hiring it out or having to overspend for junk!
I’m so happy this is helpful! Someone over on Instagram asked for a price comparison for how this compares to a prebuilt one and a similar but smaller cabinet was $1800 (plus shipping!) and the lumber for this was about $300. So a huge savings plus it’s bigger plus it’s custom. It’s a great project to DIY. Happy building and thank you so much for watching. Have a great rest of your weekend!
Hi Sara, I have followed your video and the document and was able to make 3 cabinets for my garage and 1 shoe rack. Not sure if I can post pictures. My family loves it, friends are surprised. I followed step by step whatever you said. The dimensions were 100% correct. Thank you Yatan
I'm constantly amazed at the simplicity of your projects and the beautiful completion. I can see where several applications of this project can be used in my home although the cabinet is not something I need. I always pick up a few tricks when I watch your videos and use them elsewhere. I have purchased plans from you and those projects turned out to be easy , fun and accurate. Thank you always Shara
Nice work! Better safe than sorry with the shelf thickness. I need to make one for my daughters house. She has no pantry in her tiny kitchen! Thanks for this video.
As usual looks very nice, the cabinet too. I loved your offset vanity and had to show it to my wife and she agreed, maybe the most beautiful vanity I have ever seen.
Thank you! I finally got that vanity installed last week and I'm finishing up the trim work in the bathroom this weekend. I'll have to share it in a UA-cam short video (I didn't film the remodel) soon so you can see it in its final space!
I love your videos. They are si much easier to follow and more organized han other channels. And I just bought all the jigs you use to help me make a pantry cabinet.
Just found your content at tiktok 2hrs ago. You now have me making numbers to get some tools and make some projects at home. Thank you for the inspiration!
I am building cabinets for my kitchen, I had a couple questions and you answered them all in this video. To show my thanks, I went to your website and downloaded the plans. They are super detailed and very well put together! I highly recommend the cabinet package. I already have my first frame put together thanks to you. Have a wonderful day!!
I envy your parents by having such a nice piece (again) in their garage .......... must be forbidden to hide such great stuff. Well done Shara and ........ I wasn't expecting something less coming out of your workshop (aka "hands") ........ nice color too! Have a nice weekend and greetings from the Netherlands 🙂!
My parents had to put up with me as a kid-I owe them a few nice things in return 😆 I can’t wait to show the whole space this is going into in the next video! I appreciate you watching and your kind words. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

The flip up top was awesome. I think if I had just made the cabinet a little shorter, it would have worked fine. Or maybe if I was a little taller it might have been fine, too 🤣 but I think for my parents and this particular cabinet, the double doors were probably a better option. I’ll definitely have to save the hardware to try it again in another build!
This is incredible. I have looked for something that would work in my space, but nothing in the big box stores would work. I think I am going to try it. It might end up being a $$ mistake or save me $$$$$$$ in something that is quite right. Thanks for the inspiration and explanations.
Shara, I've been eyeing a spot in my shop to capture and store some of my clutter. I think this cabinet would be perfect. I'll probably be buying your plans as soon as I get a couple of other things done around here. Weather here is constantly changing so the only way I've found to deal with that is to have multiple projects going, some indoors and some out. Wishing you a wonderful weekend. Give Bubbs and Lucy hugs from us. They crack me up! Thanks for Sharing! 🙂🙃
Weather here is crazy too--I keep thinking this too shall pass, but I'm not looking forward to that summer heat settling in for the next few months haha. That sounds like a great idea to have multiple indoor and outdoor projects while the weather figures itself out. Bubs and Lou say hi back! I hope you and yours have a wonderful rest of the weekend. Happy building!
Always love your projects and how simple you make them look. I'm sure it's not that simple but still turn out beautiful. Have a great weekend Shara. Steve

I really love when you show us the problems or mistakes during the project, it's so honest and humam. Change the subject: how the painting surface looks closely? When I paint (I don't have an air compressor), I can't made a smooth effect.
That a nice pantry cabinet, and a really nice garage cabinet. Parents are lucky. For the top cabinet are, I think the lift up may have still worked because that area is still pretty. Not sure how tall you are, but to get into that area may still require a step stool. It’s pretty tall. Took the doors off to make painting them easier. Yep, anything to make painting easier, huh. That’s a great build.

Okay, got my Saturday morning Woodshop Diaries fix. All is right with the world again 😊. Love this back-to-basics classic Shara build! One thing I'll point out to us who are watching (and you probably know it already)... Shara downplays her attention to dimension details; things like the precise sliding of the pull-out shelves and the fit and finish of the doors do not happen without some careful work on her part. Well done. Looking forward to seeing the whole picture! And thanks for being a donor. One more thing... 9:07 you know he did that on purpose, right?😂

Anyway, Bubs always has to be involved. He’s great company but kind of a micro manager 😆 The bandage was from giving blood. I gave right before I filmed the finished shots so I still had my bandage on
Thank you So Much for showing how to do some of the big work with hand tools! I have those, but not a dedicated space I could put things like table saws in (yet). Meanwhile, hooray!
I really want to get into doing woodworking like this. Thank you for the awesome video and the inspection cat was a nice touch... lol I'm definitely subscribing to your channel.
I'm always impressed at what you can build with so few tools. Nice job! My only question is, why no bottom pull out shelf? Seems like a perfect spot for one.
Awesome job, that came out really well! And I’m envious of the amount of workspace you’ve got too. My goofy shop is about 7’x25’ with a section of one long wall cutting in to about 5’ at the middle. There’s a wood burning stove on the other side of that wall so it juts out for the chimney, makes my shop literally shaped like a banana 😂
Hi! Check out these posts for info on tools to get started: www.woodshopdiaries.com/5-tools-need-get-started-woodworking-less-500/ And www.woodshopdiaries.com/must-have-tools-for-cabinet-furniture-making/ And if you’re referring to this specific project, the tools list is included in the video description.
Since you would probably need a small step stool to access the back of the upper cabinet, wouldn't that have put you in a high enough position to close the door? Great video. Been thinking of building a kitchen pantry. This video will help a lot.
That turned out very nice as always. The color you applied is nice as well. That is surely is going to be well used. Do you think there is a tip over hazard with the pull out trays ? Or have you made special provisions for that ? Thank you for sharing Ms. Shara
Hi! Yes, it should be secured to the wall. We show that in the next video when it gets installed in my parents garage. This is detailed and noted in the plans and tutorial here: www.woodshopdiaries.com/how-to-build-a-basic-pantry-cabinet/ The back supports are installed specifically for the purpose of securing it to the wall.
Awesome cabinet build! Have you ever used tongue and groove stock to make cabinet doors? I bought a Bousch combo router bit, set up is tedious, yet worth it if you have more than a few doors to build. Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much! I’m appreciate you watching! I have-I show a few ways I’ve made cabinet doors in this video: ua-cam.com/video/1wKi7EO_g7A/v-deo.htmlsi=Xki0VqdQnxUbpUG3
@@WoodshopDiaries Thank you! That combo bit, is like the same outcome of door 7 in your video, just instead of the table saw, a router table is used. I'm always looking for reasons to use a router on stuff tho..thanks again!!
Hooray, ill be building our pantry out in our new build so im trying to gain confidence and not feel overwhelmed by the size needed. So your no-nonsense videos help with that. Do you just drill pocketholes anywhere or are those measured and spaced out beforehand?
So happy this was helpful! 🙌 you got this! As far as pocket holes, I drill them anywhere-just kind of eyeball the spacing. I don’t measure and mark them exactly.
You did the whole thing with no second hand help. That's impressive and while at it, your channel is awesome!

There’s a wood burning stove on the other side of that wall so it juts out for the chimney, makes my shop literally shaped like a banana 😂
Awesome project and it turned out great!👍🏾
you make it look so easy. cheers
Thank you! I appreciate you watching and hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Le quedó bello, felicitaciones.
Love your vids...will do some buildings soon using your tips
I love you this is my first time here and am subscribing
Nicely done!
Thank you so much! I appreciate you watching!
Can you make a video about all the tools that people may need from start to finish please. It would be really helpful. Thanks in advance.

Very good work!
Thank you so much! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Another fantastic build
I'd hire you to build my canning pantry. 😁I'm impressed!
This is exactly what I have been looking for to build in my kitchen. Great video! Could you use mdf instead of the 3/4 plywood to keep the cost down?
So glad you enjoyed it! You can I supposed but I don’t personally use or recommend MDF. That’s not to say it wouldn’t work, but I can’t speak on it.
Un proyecto muy bueno como siempre. saludos
Thank you so much! I appreciate you watching!
This is detailed and noted in the plans and tutorial here: www.woodshopdiaries.com/how-to-build-a-basic-pantry-cabinet/
The back supports are installed specifically for the purpose of securing it to the wall.
LOVE THIS! going to give it a whirl 😬 any idea how much the materials would cost? I'm new to building and I'm hoping it's cheaper to build than buy???
That orange fellow reminds me of a lot of quality control people!
Nice work ! I'm fan ! ❤
Thank you so much! I really appreciate you watching!
Beautiful !
I really like your videos...Thank you
Let's appreciate that this gorgeous cabinet is made using ryobi tools.
Tools don’t make things. People make things.
Very nice 👌
Thank you! I really appreciate you watching and hope you have a great weekend!
