Spears are quite fun but they are mod baseds so that's sucks if your stuck on PlayStation as sony sucks at giving player freedoms, i hated sony for setting those limitations in what mods are allowed(SSE/SAE and FO4 aren't allowed to have mods that requires scripting or external assets outside of creation club items)but i built my PC this year and boy oh boy Skyrim has ton of mods(and all sorts of "mods"😅) but if your on PlayStation i would recommend looking into a PC as sony is not giving players what they want, and they keep making stupid decisions like raising PS plus when the PS Plus games are mediocre(this coming from someone whos been with PlayStation since PS3) but PS5 pro is probably gonna be close to 700-800 usd but if you want more bang for your buck you could just look into a "decent" pre built pc that is close to that range as the pre build markets are getting close to the ranges of consoles but pcs has way more functionality and game variety along with having better deals on games compared to what PS store has ever offered although if one does want to look into pre-builts, do your research on what parts you might want(ideally based on the specs of the games you intend to play) and look into PC pre builds companies as some aren't good pre-built PCS are made cheaply with cheap parts so make sure in what your buying is coming from a legit solid company.
My favorite looking weapon in the game. The thing is that it's weight would be ridiculous and unusable in real life. Which fits on the other hand, as people who wielde it are generally Vampires who obviously would have no trouble with it. Hence why it's called the Vampire's Mace.

I like the mod which makes the swords and armour look more shiny, like people in Skyrim actually clean their equipment for once and makes weapons like swords reflect light
Ah, i was wondering why these weren't mentioned in the previous video. I've always liked Dawnbreaker, though i prefer the modded version which makes it slimmer.
I fully recommend looking at Morrowind, as it has Arming Swords, Longswords, Broadswords, Short Swords, Daggers, Spears, Halberds, Staves, Two-Handed Axes, One-Handed Swords, Dai-Katanas, Katanas, Wakizashis, Tantos, Maces, Hammers and Sabers! And that's the base weapons alone! Every Artifact has a unique appearance!
Just some things about the blood skaal blade that weren't mentioned, there's a wrapping around the ricasso (pretty sure that's right, the dull portion above the cross guard) which while that portion is too large does give the impression of using the blade with different hand positioning, and secondly it's actually made of silver in the lore of the game, or at least you use silver to upgrade it
I don't think budget constraints are the issue. Skyrim has a very advanced face generator for the player character. No reason why they couldn't have something similar for swords. Only it wouldn't need to be as advanced since swords have fairly uniform designs with only specific details being different.
regarding woebalde grip (and overall shape) Kopis- the grip of these blades is made so that the palm gets fixed between pommel and guard so that even if you let fingers go the blade does not fall down. the idea aparantly is that even if during fight the hand gets damaged you do not loose the blade and can still do something...but ya- the handle is very much custom size to person as a result...
There's a mod for that. On the nexus, there is a mod called 'Unique Uniques' that remodels all or most of the unique weapons in the game so they are all truly unique. There are some other mods that specifically change only the daedric artifacts and a couple of other mods that gives the Yarls their own unique weapons as well though you can't wield them as the player unless you obtain them by non-legal means.
@@danielwesley5051 Yep, also it's the only Weapon in the game (except for possibly Creation Club/Anniversary Edition Content or Mods) that you can improve with Silver Ingots.

Little correction of what Shad is saying at the end. The towns being so small has nothing to do with the engine itself, it's in fact capable of handling it as we have seen in Oblivion and in Enderal which was made using Skyrim's engine. Or even other quest mods like Vigilant, which brings the Imperial City in a pretty great scale into the game. It has more to do with the limitations of consoles and with the Creation Enigne already being very heavy on CPU. That would have been a problem on a PS3. And one could argue that it also has something to do with time limit and set release dates.
I always thought it was more to do with their development style. Every NPC has their own specific schedule, a little unique dialog, etc. If they wanted to make a proper city like that, it would take forever.
@@daviddaugherty2816 I don't think this has something to do with the NPCs. Oblivion and Morrowind have a lot of fleshed out npcs but also just npcs who are just... NPCs and that has never bothered me. It can in fact add to the atmosphere and immersion. Best example is Skyrim's College of Winterhold, which has only 4 apprentices? Or Raven Rock and Winterhold itself which are actually pathetic. I am using mods to expand them in that regard which makes it feel much better. And what Oblivion has done better is the fame system as well as the "dialogue interaction" system.
Always happy to see more Skyrim content. Skyrim modding is a gold mine. You can review some of those. They can be super realistic, basically a reaction of historic weapons, functional fantasy, or absolute insanity. You can also contrast some of the bade vanilla designs with mods that fix them.

I had assumed id done just about everything up to this point, been everywhere, found everything. but sometimes this game still surprises me
I can cut the blood scythe and it's counterpart some slack tbh. The serated guard is a null downside considering you'll never use this without gauntlets with hand armour.
I love these types of videos. I want to repeat a request I made on another video; do a book shelf tour, I keep trying to see what those books are but can't quite see them.
Miraak’s Sword doesn’t need to cut anything. A daedric god’s tentacle kind of just comes out of there and tickles your enemy to death, so the shape doesn’t matter all that much. Could’ve been a spoon.

I would be really pumped to see a video where you critique Skyrim’s maces and «warhammers», normal and unique. Then if that does well, another one on the «war axes» and «greataxes». One piece of advice in the interest of more accurate critiques (if your busy schedules will permit it); if you acquire the weapons you’re rewieving in-game (either legally or through console commands), then you’ll be able to see A LOT more detail that is easily missed in JPEGs. Hope you have a wonderful day. Toodles.
Absolutely love those. Definitely waiting for maces and axes. Armor reviews might be even more interesting, also I'd be interested in your take on different versions of armor sets for male and female characters
Man its been ages since I played skyrim. I had a museum mod where you could put unique items on display and draw visitors. Even other mods content had room for display. It even had a house and work shop
Bloodscal blade is a great sword clearly by the leather wrap on the section above the cross guard thus making the upper protrusions a functional component if you were to half sword
i like these! you could even do how these weapons changed over each game as graphics improved and if it would make weapons more usable or less. but the over game releases one is probably just one vid and you'd need elder scrolls daggerfall, morrowind, oblivion and skyrim probably to tell. i wish you could rate Isileth from Peter Morwood's book The Horse Lord.
TLDR; it’s almost always found when it’s inconvenient and you really shouldn’t be doing the quest until you’re higher level when you really benefit from it and until you get to that level and do the quest you’re forced to carry the beacon - side note I suspect Meridia’s tone has something to do with it too “HEAR ME MORTAL AND OBEY!” It’s like “bitch who TF you talking to!” 😂 I think it’s because of the nature in which you start the quest for the most part. You randomly encounter and acquire the beacon which is a quest item and can’t be removed from your inventory (another annoyance for some, can’t remember if it’s weightless or not instinct tells me it’s not). It’s usually inconvenient as you’re typically in the middle of another far off dungeon and you may have had other plans too plus this will be fairly early in the game (for the most part) and you probably won’t have a fast travel location close to the Questination. Assuming you’re not on survival which I’d imagine makes it even more annoying to get to. Adding to that; The Dawnbreaker is a Levelled weapon meaning if you do the quest and acquire the weapon early you’re doing yourself a massive disservice as the weapon and more importantly the enchantment will be significantly weaker than if you acquired it at “top level” it’s worth noting that top level varies from weapon to weapon some weapons top out as low as 27 some as high as 60 I believe The Dawnbreaker specifically is 35 or 46 - something like that
For the record I don’t mind it either especially if I’m playing with mods that removes the levelled weapon system otherwise I do just wait until I’m at the necessary level and by then I have a close FT location anyway I get why it annoys people but for me it’s a non issue, I do think the levelled weapons systems is stupid though and it kinda does annoy me lol
I think you would really enjoy making a video analyising an animation called Hard Blade. It just came out from a user named Zen here on UA-cam. It has some amazing choreography and I'd love to see you break it down explaining everything that's going on
Idea New rating system Make a rating system for the sword that covers Blade, Guard, Handle, Weight, Functionality, maybe also Size, etc maybe Materials? Rate each of these on the weapons on this scale in either 1-5 or 1-10, giving the weapon a total score out of 25, 50, what ever you go with. Then it will be easier to give the weapons a constant score. You could also make a site and upload the weapon beforehand that will be in the video and notify your community and have they rate the weapons, and then compare the communities overall rating with yours. This would also save all the weapons and allow people to view them and their ratings at any time. There could even be a section where people can post weapons to be rated and others can upvote them to be rated.
That rating system could work, if the swords were actual real world swords. However with fantasy swords its very common that one bad quality, like too heavy weight, makes weapon completely unusable, even if all the other categories gets the max scrore. So you could often have swords that are way above average in score but still completely unusable.
@@tabull8180 ....you just list them as unusable most of the swords from all their videos seem to be usable. It would also allow for they to rate things they like about an unusable weapon
@@Kirinketsu_ I appreciate the thought process. How about the fact that different parts can be connected to performance for different part. For example handle can be way too small for the (massive) blade, but if there was normal blade or shortsword blade, the handle could be perfectly reasonable. Should the focus be on the intent of said weapon or how said part could actually function?
i personally think that with the weight distribution of the Dawnbreaker to the hilt makes the tip lighter. this makes the sword more brute force rather than reliant on fencing in my eyes. youd be hacking or cleaving more often due to this fact or trying to overpower the opponent with raw strength using the weight provided to the sweet spot lower down the blade. using it will require you to fight differently than a standard balanced blade.

I've always liked Dawnbreaker, though i prefer the modded version which makes it slimmer.
I love ALL Shadiversity videos!!!! ❤
I have had some fabulous swords in Skyrim. In my mind they are all amazing!
Thanks very much for this video !! More Skyrim , please 🙏 ! 😊
This. Yes.
Just some things about the blood skaal blade that weren't mentioned, there's a wrapping around the ricasso (pretty sure that's right, the dull portion above the cross guard) which while that portion is too large does give the impression of using the blade with different hand positioning, and secondly it's actually made of silver in the lore of the game, or at least you use silver to upgrade it
7:08 you can kill even with a sponge if you try hard enough😀 btw the Miraak sword is longer than you think
That makes it even worse
Keep these coming! Such fun vids, great job guys
3:08 what are the chances whichever overworked game dev made that sword got the top of the hilt backwards?
Thanks Guys, I really enjoyed this one. 👍
I don't think budget constraints are the issue.
Skyrim has a very advanced face generator for the player character.
No reason why they couldn't have something similar for swords. Only it wouldn't need to be as advanced since swords have fairly uniform designs with only specific details being different.
regarding woebalde grip (and overall shape)
Kopis- the grip of these blades is made so that the palm gets fixed between pommel and guard so that even if you let fingers go the blade does not fall down. the idea aparantly is that even if during fight the hand gets damaged you do not loose the blade and can still do something...but ya- the handle is very much custom size to person as a result...
Curved swords. Curved. Swords.
Bloodskal getting a good score made my day, it's so fun to use.
That's my favorite "Unique Skyrim Sword"!
You don’t even need to switch weapons to do a ranged attack.
@@danielwesley5051 Yep, also it's the only Weapon in the game (except for possibly Creation Club/Anniversary Edition Content or Mods) that you can improve with Silver Ingots.
At least they didn't give the sword a tiny handle like some other greatswords
There's a mod that I believe it's called unique uniques, that gives a modified appearance to most unique weapon in the game, I love that mod and can't play the game without it.
According to Todd Howard, all weapons in Skyrim are 10/10.
"It just works"
Hoping the Dawnbreaker gets a good review, that one's purdy
That's my baby! I go and get her first, all those draugr thruout the game makes it a time saver. Plus it's beautiful
It's funny how everyone always talks about how the quest sucks yet the reward is still one of the most popular swords in the game
@@lancekemal8989 The duality of man
As always great video!
Next time I would love to see a tier list of the best Witcher swords (from games).😊
Thanks!
I'd love to see them ranking the Skyrim armors in a future video
Always happy to see more Skyrim content.
Skyrim modding is a gold mine.
You can review some of those. They can be super realistic, basically a reaction of historic weapons, functional fantasy, or absolute insanity.
You can also contrast some of the bade vanilla designs with mods that fix them.
This is actually an excellent idea for a video.
ive been playing skyrim for years now, started back on ps3, and played on nearly every generation since, through good and bad. And it wasnt until i played Skyrim VR recently that i even discovered the bloodskal blade. it took me WAY to long to discover this thing even existed. and ive fallen in love with it. I had assumed id done just about everything up to this point, been everywhere, found everything. but sometimes this game still surprises me
Love the Skyrim series! Best of luck your projects.
I'm definitely enjoying these, keep em coming, boys!!
Perfect video length!
I would be interested in seeing the unique (and standard) hammers and axes reviewed.
Miraak’s Sword doesn’t need to cut anything. A daedric god’s tentacle kind of just comes out of there and tickles your enemy to death, so the shape doesn’t matter all that much. Could’ve been a spoon.
I just spent a week learning all of the modding tools and building an AIO for myself. Now, I'm working through the bugs in game from the mods.
I guess from all the Skyrim mod videos I was watching these two videos on Skyrim weapons popped up in my feed. Strange, I haven't seen other updates from you. Enjoying these videos.
Say hello to fantasy nerd swords Brother Shad, one or two breaths short of mall ninja weapons. Time for me to create Brother Shad in Skyrim, he'll even have a proper two hander sword and his symbolic brigandine.
I'd love it if you reviewed ALL THE SKYRIM WEAPONS & ARMORS & PLAYER HOUSES!!!
hey guys, been watching youtube since i was a kid and at this point i honestly RARELY sub to channels, like once in a blue moon. ya'll earned my sub for sure
ngl, the Nightingale Blade as a shortsword seems to be the perfect weapon for someone who wants to stay hidden due to its concealability. Similar in principle to the ninjato for the East, being not too long that it protrudes a lot and not too short that it's ineffective.
I think a comparison review of some of the remodel mods to judge how much they improve the models would be really cool.
Skyrim is in my top 3 games of all time. I have a few thousand hour spread out over the various versions.
Great video!
You are good men for this.
I would love to see fantasy castle analysis back on the channel
swords from kenshi would be fun for this series. decent variety and lots to talk about with each one
I would be really pumped to see a video where you critique Skyrim’s maces and «warhammers», normal and unique. Then if that does well, another one on the «war axes» and «greataxes».
One piece of advice in the interest of more accurate critiques (if your busy schedules will permit it);
if you acquire the weapons you’re rewieving in-game (either legally or through console commands), then you’ll be able to see A LOT more detail that is easily missed in JPEGs.
Hope you have a wonderful day. Toodles.
Once again I encourage you to do the swords of Morrowind because I think you'll find the range of designs and types both impressive and amusing.
Absolutely love those. Definitely waiting for maces and axes. Armor reviews might be even more interesting, also I'd be interested in your take on different versions of armor sets for male and female characters
YES! pls more Skyrim videos! "how realistic Skyrim stealth archery IRL"?
Man its been ages since I played skyrim. I had a museum mod where you could put unique items on display and draw visitors. Even other mods content had room for display. It even had a house and work shop
We need a video series of shad and tyranth take ridiculously over the top swords and turn them into functional designs
I love this type of videos, please more.
shad and tyranth, the dawnbreaker was forged by the ol man at arms youtube channel. and you guys may be interested to react about it.
Axes, hammers, daggers, and shields would be cool to look at. Love this kind of stuff
You should do a video where you guys pick what specific gear you would pick to survive in Skyrim
The blood skaal blade is my favorite sword and I was so happy to see a good review on it
Yes, do more Skyrim weapons.
Also, I still want you to do the Witch King's sword from LOTR.
I can't wait for the next one looking at axes. And maybe other weapons as well.
Yes you have backed yourselves into a corner and we need the axes and maces videos.
Can someone explain to me why everyone hates the orb quest where you get the dawnbreaker? I played it on many playthroughs and i dont mind it.
TLDR; it’s almost always found when it’s inconvenient and you really shouldn’t be doing the quest until you’re higher level when you really benefit from it and until you get to that level and do the quest you’re forced to carry the beacon - side note I suspect Meridia’s tone has something to do with it too “HEAR ME MORTAL AND OBEY!” It’s like “bitch who TF you talking to!” 😂
I think it’s because of the nature in which you start the quest for the most part.
Adding to that; The Dawnbreaker is a Levelled weapon meaning if you do the quest and acquire the weapon early you’re doing yourself a massive disservice as the weapon and more importantly the enchantment will be significantly weaker than if you acquired it at “top level”
it’s worth noting that top level varies from weapon to weapon
some weapons top out as low as 27 some as high as 60 I believe The Dawnbreaker specifically is 35 or 46 - something like that
For the record I don’t mind it either especially if I’m playing with mods that removes the levelled weapon system otherwise I do just wait until I’m at the necessary level and by then I have a close FT location anyway
I get why it annoys people but for me it’s a non issue, I do think the levelled weapons systems is stupid though and it kinda does annoy me lol
Would love if you kept this series up!
I think you would really enjoy making a video analyising an animation called Hard Blade. It just came out from a user named Zen here on UA-cam. It has some amazing choreography and I'd love to see you break it down explaining everything that's going on
The anniversary edition weapons are really nice if you wanna take a look at those. There's even a bec de corbin.
I would love seeing you guys rate other weapon types from Skyrim.
Idea
New rating system
Make a rating system for the sword that covers Blade, Guard, Handle, Weight, Functionality, maybe also Size, etc maybe Materials?
The fork is obviously the strongest weapon in Skyrim. Spiffing Brit showed us that
You should do a "redesigned" type series as well. How you would redesign them to make them better/more functional. For all games
I loved the video, but I think you guys should do this one again while including the enchantments and how effective they would be IRL
i personally think that with the weight distribution of the Dawnbreaker to the hilt makes the tip lighter. this makes the sword more brute force rather than reliant on fencing in my eyes. youd be hacking or cleaving more often due to this fact or trying to overpower the opponent with raw strength using the weight provided to the sweet spot lower down the blade. using it will require you to fight differently than a standard balanced blade.
Would love to see you review the other weapon classes as well
Hey I wanted to offer a suggestion. I think it could be entertaining watching this channel play some VR Sword/Melee weapon games. Things like Battle Talent, Undead Citadel, Hellsplit Arena, etc...
