I have rocked Destabilizing Choir since the refit came out and when coupled with a Void Titan using Actium War Rig you basically have 2 catalysts rolled into one. It's perfect.
@Sobergamer61 with the explosive power of void titan and destabilizing, you don't need to fire many shots. Plus I do run Special ammo finders/finisher so I'm topped off
@@Sobergamer61Destabilizing is the best one for saving ammo, you can delete crowds with just 2 or 3 shots and have much more ammo to chunk majors and bosses. There’s very few yellow bar enemies that can take 2 or more shots from the hip fire shot point blank outside of champs so even if your using this as a primary you shouldn’t run into ammo issues when used correctly
I prefer onslaught mainly because the perk gives a reload buff with each stack allowing for crazy burst damage in a short amount of time. I know the base ammo reserve is getting nerfed but as long as you’re smart with your ammo then it won’t be that much of a problem, at least for me.
Arguing that Onslaught is more ammo efficient than Subsistence is wild to me. Neither one affects damage per shot, or creates ammo. One keeps you topped up so you don't have to reload as often, and the other increases your rate of fire. I'm with you in arguing that Onslaught is the more useful perk, but for Ammo Efficiency?? That's crazy. You're more likely to waste shots with Onslaught with the higher rate of fire. Subsistence changes nothing about ammo efficiency, and Onslaught makes it worse.
Yeah I don't think he was thinking about ammo efficiency and maybe got confused with kill efficiency or mag up-time lol. Ammo efficiency, as you and I think of, has to do with how *little* ammo you use to do the same amount of damage. Basically any damage buff is technically an ammo efficiency perk, with the most obvious being perks like FTTC/TripleTap. Less work (in this case ammo) to produce the same result (in this case damage). Now I wouldn't say Onslaught necessarily makes it worse than Subsistence just because the amount of ammo you use isn't changing, just how fast. But the result gained is directly equivalent to how fast you're using ammo, so it's a net/loss of 0 in terms of ammo efficiency though you gain kill efficiency. Where I would say you are correct in Onslaught being worse is that the faster RPM may result in more shots missed. In the same amount of frames you could miss 1 shot on an enemy without Onslaught, you may miss 2-3 with Onslaught x3 which would result in loss of ammo efficiency.
Maybe he's thinking because you're not having to reload you're not keeping track of your reserves as much? If he relates reloading to now having less ammo in his mind then I guess I can kind of see it, but in reality Onslaught uses much more ammo than subsistence does but default. Missing with Onslaught is much more punishing than missing with Subsistence since you're most likely missing many more shots with the increased firerate.
I use destabilizing rounds because the time it takes to empty a mag with the base fire rate and then reload is just enough time for auto loading to kick in on my rocket. Better for rotations.
I've been enjoying Destabilizing on Void Titan with Controlled Demolition and devour, paired with Second Chance, giving weaken on demand, moderate healing, and purple kabloomies. Meta? Nah. Fun? Yep :)
Destabilizing let me save tons of ammo since you can just pop a head or two in a crowd and everything dies, letting me use the hip fire shot a lot more. I solo flawlessed spire and duality just running this, the call, and edge transit and had no ammo issues and I wasn’t even running reserves. After the nerf it’s gonna feel more or less the same for me minus the crazy boss damage but even then it’ll be solid for an edge transit Rotation
I'm torn between Onslaught and Destabilising Rounds. Onslaught chews through ammo but lets your burn everything quickly and Destabilising Rounds makes it into an add clearing monster but loses out on yellow bar chunking. Maybe I just make 2?
I made 2 as well. Destabilising for normal content, onslaught for high difficulty like gm. I also use onslaught for void gyrfalcons because destabilising is unnecessary since I have constant volatile anyway. For prismatic gyrfalcons I'd probably pick destabilising. Both great picks, too hard to choose so go for both!
Another Catalyst idea that is completely off the wall but could be fun if we want more Prismatic or dual energy weapons (like Conditional Finality) would be a hatchling/suspend refit. Precision kills while ADS spawn threadlings but hip firing kills charge up a meter. Once the meter is charged, the next hip fire shot will suspend enemies. I suppose you could let ADS shots charge the meter as well just at a far reduced rate
Onslaught can be a chaotic to manage in lower end content but it still absolutely shreds bullet sponges. I like it, plus the reload imporvement that coolguy detailed was nice as well.
Destablilizing gives it massive add clear and the gun already hits like a truck. TTk is great (Onslaught) but even in high end content I think having a jack of all trades is better.
Best combo imo Onslaught + Gyrfalcon. I have over 25,000 kills with this combo already and at least for the rest of this season with the artifact mods, it's incredible
As a super casual choir of one is one of the best and funnest craftable exotic and all the catalyst are really interesting..im glad ive done all the catalyst quest..with 100 resilience and triple resist seasonal mod this auto rifle is 10/10 in my book
I feel like the upcoming nerfs are going to favor Destabilizing Rounds. Once the damage output gets reduced, the other two catalysts boil down to "Do less damage than before, now even faster", especially since its special ammo. Then again, I prefer when more things go boom in violent spouts of purple, so I may be biased
I still prefer Destabilizing Rounds for overall map clear. And when it’s time to shred a champion, hip fire works great. Sure onslaught could kill that champion faster, but I’d argue that if you are clearing the map of adds quicker with DR, the slightly more time it takes to wear that champion down is worth the trade off. I do, however, see what you’re saying about the inconsistency or DR proccing. I’ve noticed it a few times. But it’s never been detrimental to the situations I was in.
I built into the ammo issue (special finders, void scavengers, special finishers) that seem to keep me in green for now. Still being a little judicious in firing rate and when to hip fire is probably a good lesson in control. Using onslaught for now
As a hunter subsistence is best just pair with the gyrfalcon or foetracer for that dmg boost plus I feel like sanguine alchemy for warlocks would let it shine
Did they change the internal cooldown on destabilizing rounds? Is that something i missed, or did he just miss speak? Or is it just special to this gun?
I think your cat should depend on your class and it's use. Hunters probably got it easy with DeStable and Gyr. Warlocks using Void Walker should using DeStable with Sin exotic Void Titans can have a hell of a time with Actium and Onslaught(Sweet business 2.0?).

Onslaught made me actually wanna use the ads mode and not the hip fire mode 24/7, so gonna stick with that one. Subsistance is plain boring And as a hunter with many spirit of the gyrfalcon class items I don't feel the need for destabilizing rounds
As a Void Hunter (no, I do not use Gyr, my Rigs have been superglued to my ass for 7 years), I like Subsistence because it isn't hard for me to get a Volatile chain going and hipfire makes it even faster. So, I usually get my full mag by simply blowing up 2 or 3 enemies with one hip-shot.
I mean, isn’t the answer always “depends on what you’re using it for or where you’re using it”? Subsistence (without the artifact) and Onslaught in ad-heavy boss fights are going to be the best for sustained DPS. Destabilizing is great for ad clear and ammo efficiency. Personally, I think Destabilizing is better on this weapon than others because the explosions and radiolaria pools can kill enemies faster than they can get out of range, where other weapons can quickly make the perk near useless. Onslaught is honestly my least favorite. The hidden reload increase is nice, but the gun can already shoot as fast as you can move target to target. Unless you’re ramping up to attack a larger target or just spraying horizontally to catch ads but waste ammo, it just doesn’t feel necessary. I’m usually doing ADS on crits like the Touch of Malice.
