The essence grind would feel less painful if people could give you random Dawning weapons when you give them cookies instead of random junk like strange coins and world drop gear. It feels weird to go from FoTL which gave 2-3 related weapons per haunted sector to the Dawning where you have to give someone 6ish cookies to get a related weapon.
YO!!! That's wtf I'm saying, I've only gotten 1 of each weapon drop so far... and I can't masterwork my oven even though I've baked every recipe.. wtf is going on? I still have to sort through my acosmic and braytech rolls, but this is like.. weapon starvation.. and I want pve/pvp rolls for at least a few of the weapons. It just feels so off, and buggy... idk what Bungie is thinking, but they're losing players daily, and they continue to give us less than half-assed contests and events. And as someone else said, the bugs that benefit us, get patched immediately, the bugs that break the game and screw us over, well they'll get fixed when they get fixed... anyways. Happy holidays guardians.
Ya great point. It really is just a lack of rewards. Even if you only got double-traits from Eva but you got weapons from events and other vendors that would be fantastic, but The Dawning feels especially stingy for some reason right now and I really just don't understand why they did it this way. It's not like other events (like you said) are this stingy, and coming right off the heels of FotL makes The Dawning feel horrible.
I would also not mind if one of the upgrades purchased from Eva gave a chance for 1-2 essence to drop when you get an ingredient like the ship does for spirit.
I know, right. How do they have no clue to come up with tasks that are more fun? 50 LFR kills is a flat out ignorant ask. No one wants to play the game that way. No one loves sitting in a lost sector. This bounty actively encourages boredom.
If the player loss rate is expressed as .... and the rate of cars being added to Pete's garage is .... which activity would be the most efficient grind for making these numbers equal?
This is exactly.why i think crafting didn't ruin destiny. The overall weapon grind just is not fun enough in relation to the loot you get. The most optimal options should be the most fun ones.
Honestly the game just needs a larger post master, vault, and then bring loot pinata levels of drops. Crafting wouldnt be a thing we care about if we were getting a ton of loot along the way. But when you do a 15-20min activity to get 1-2 weapons? Its just not satisfying. Thats why people like crafting because they can get their 5 red borders then never touch it again.
I never understood why anybody had that complaint as a casual since D1 Dark Below until I realized who was complaining. The only people who didn’t want crafting were the absolute no life, Destiny is their second job type of players. They play so much Destiny that they craft all of the new weapons within a few days of release then complain to no end when they have to go outside, or god forbid, play something else. I understand that we all love this game but this hardcore niche will never be satisfied. If the content is dropped weekly, there’s never enough to play. If it’s dropped all at once, there’s too little to keep returning for. If the weapons are all random, it’s not fair odds to obtain them but if they’re all guaranteed to be great, then that’s too easy to obtain. Bungie will never win.
@@MrTytyjohn64 Praise you and your truth, it's so damn accurate! Personally, I wish that crafting was given to all weapons, but didn't allow you to enhance them. That way, real world drop weapons can be enhanced with double power to their perks. Ex. Take a Nullify pulse rifle from Salvation's Edge: You could grind for the craftable pattern to pull out of collections/enclave any time you want, but get no enhancability. OR You can have world drop with double-enhanced perks that make Incandescent cause double explosions and Heal Clip that heals a full half health. Enhancable perks that are stronger if you got the world drop rather than had a non-enhancable crafted weapon. Granted, that's a perfect world where both casual and try-hard players can co-exist without arguing over the crafting issue, but I'm standing for crafted weapons because I don't need to be hoarding literally everything. I'd rather take what I like out and save the rest for sudden changes in the game. This year's Dawning is just pitiful, and it makes me realize how bad it was last year, too (not counting the bugs we have now).
Crafting is fine but when the best weapons in the game can be crafted instead of needing to be farmed out it kills the player retention. IMO they should make reprised raids, dungeons, and old seasonal loot craftable but leave new raids, dungeons, and seasonal weapons as RNG. Basically for this season all the splicer loot (ignition code, chroma rush, etc...) should be craftable but leave stuff like bitter/sweet and liturgy as RNG until they come back around in a couple of years. As for raids salvations edge loot shouldn't be craftable but since they revamped garden its loot should be craftable. They could also make it so crafted weapons can't have enhanced perks while RNG drops can be enhanced.
For events, bungie is just waaaaaaaay too stingy with event resources. They should just shower us with the shit since it’s only around three weeks out of the damn year. I mean who cares if someone ends up a crap ton of weapon cores or glimmer from dismantling stuff, it’s not like we have a community market board where we sell and buy things from others and the economy breaks down or something like that. Just give us 100 essence a run from anything. We should be able to just do whatever we want and farm for what we want while it’s available.
They do, when a bug or interaction benefits the player or makes the game somewhat enjoyable lol. But small number tweaks to weapon type to make them a bit better like the SMG changes we’ll get? Have to wait an entire Act or Episode that are months away. Which is fucking ridiculous considering how many other games can manage to pump put patches a couple times a week that balance different things.
Yeah the juice isn't worth the squeeze when it comes to grinding out these event weapons. Focusing cost should be cut in half, or reduced by at least a third. Bungie wants us putting more hours into the game but for me, it just makes me not want to play at all.
My main issue with The Dawning Weapons is that for most of them we already have a weapon of the same element that can do the same stuff. Most obvious is the new LFR. We already have a basically perfect Void 3 Burst LFR (Doomed Pertitiner) while Solar, Arc, and Stasis are kinda stuck behind with the possible rolls on their singular options. If it were up to me, and hear me out, each event would drop basically GRolls of weapons for 1 Element. I'd have the Dawning weapons all be Stasis, Halloween all be Void, Solstice all be Solar, Guardian Games all be Arc, and fuck it, Revelry for Strand. This gives players a few weeks a year where they can garuntee a drop of something good for builds for each class, instead of a bunch of random weapons that range from average-to-grolls. Sure, it'd make some people not want to play a certain event. Say you never play Arc, now you have no reason to play Guardian Games. That's why I'd also give them all armour sets (could just be the ITL Parade Sets reskinned idrc about how they look I'm transmogging anyway) with garunteed ways to get high-stat armour drops, even artifice drops if you complete certain challenges during the events. This would add more incentive for players to actually do events when they come around. I haven't seen a single person this Dawning go "Man, I'm really hoping for a God Roll Zephyr."
It would make a ton more sense if they made all the Dawning weapons into Stasis weapons. Hell even Stasis and Solar. When they released Albedo Wing and it was Arc I could hear all the players collectively throw their hands in the air with confusion.
@4:12 Fallout that is hilarious if you think it takes 10 minutes to play a game of comp including queue time. The queue time itself takes 10+ minutes between games
I think what made The Dawning work for the past few years was that it came around during a new season (Seraph and Wish), meaning more people would engage with the event more casually, but with how the episode system works, not a lot of people are inclined to get on. I do however agree that the Dawning shouldn't be changed, but rather just given more essence and loot.
Removing craftable seasonable weapons is what drove me out. I played for two Acts and I have two weapons worth keeping that actually add some value to my arsenal. Two, the rest was trash.
This really isn’t Bungie’s fault. It’s because every Datto type is such a deafening vocal minority that Bungie are genuinely under the impression that crafting is bad. Newsflash- it is not.
I dont mind them not being craftable right away. I mind the two "new" activities having the exact same drops. Rather than half @$$ing two things, put the whole effort into one thing and make it worth while to play.
@@kevina6416 but you _could_ if you wanted. Go get a hyper specific roll of an old seasonal weapon. Because every year old weapons shift into the meta, and without crafting you either have to be lucky enough to have kept that roll around (unlikely, since players don’t possess omniscience), or go back and get it. The latter of which doesn’t work because they get removed…
This Dawning made me realize that the only reason I've enjoyed the Dawning so much the past few years is because it was at the start of the season so I was already playing the game a lot anyways and just passively working on the event.
but nobody likes those gamemodes. or at least nobody likes the lost sectors. if players got more essence from playing how they'd like, and focusing prices were lower for event weapons, people wouldn't be as annoyed.
@@iponce2well it’s because those game modes are boring, snowball fights or properly cooperative modes would work well for dawning. Event related game modes for crucible and something PVE would help. Perhaps something like infection for Halloween, action sack modes for Guardian Games, etc you get it
Maybe the whole point behind the dawning event is to give players a little bonus loot while they play the game. Why do you get obsessed with getting perfect god rolls on multiple weapons? Just enjoy the event, bake some cookies, and keep the best roll of each weapon!
We need a winter activity (like solstice and halloween). For example: Infinite forest in daytime, clear each platform and when you do, it becomes festively themed. The more holiday platforms you make the more essence you receive.
Mad respect fallout. I guess not 1 single person at bungie watches you or dattos videos? Or the other 500 yt creators And read the comments. ...cause man dude...wish they would see the pain we are going through. 😢😢 love the game so much..litterally saved my life . Gonna jam later with lfg randos😊
This is a long shot, but if they had introduced a playlist dedicated to the dawning similar to the headless ones lost sectors, we could see a bit more retention of players and engagement. This would split the population more towards that activity but could allow players to get their loot from the activity instead of only from space grandma
It's good for solo players or groups that don't want to farm checkpoints, but the ones mentioned in the video can easily get double or triple the amount of runs done in the same time.
Tbh farming the daily lost sectors are better than checkpoint farming. You get 17-20 essence and only takes 2-4 minutes no switching characters so faster by alot
@@zedsemsombradeduvidas266 unfortunately no the legend lost sectors are at a pl of 2030 I'm 2025 and sometimes I still get killed losing a few seconds and more importantly losing one of your limited revives
Just imagine if there was a system where you could craft these weapons to have the exact perks that you wanted on them. Maybe it takes 10 to 20 cookies to unlock the ability to craft a weapon. And then you still have to play a bunch, but at least you’re guaranteed to get what you want in the end.
The issue is that the 13 hours you mentioned it would take someone to grind through traditional methods is *what they want*. It's artificial engagement on purpose. The problem is that short-term gains tend to lead to long-term losses with stuff like this. I engage with these seasonal events less every year because it's just not enjoyable, especially as someone who is typically a solo player that doesn't always want to have to sign into Discord to find a farm.
I think the last time I played a holiday event was the solstice before the last to get the seal. Nothing changes every single year apart from perks, a new weapon and new eververse items. I would rather they focus on creating something different and just make the tower festive or whatever event it is and you can just earn weapons by playing naturally and turning in currency. Until then with a workforce that is significantly weakened I unfortunately don’t see bungie changing the state of the game, people will play new content, it becomes tedious and then it will drop off because the content in between doesn’t engage players.
Nothing you said was wrong. I have never entered a game of Gambit but if I could get 50 essence for finishing a match win or lose I'd jump in. As it is now I am spending hours as a solo player grinding expert lost sectors. 3 to 5 minuets for HOURS at a time is nuts just to get B tier weapons from Eva.
@@jonathanvogt4341 My buddy I have been running with since week one of D1 has had to redo the opening Zavala cook quest twice this week alone. The game just reset that part and won't let him progress until he make a new Zavala cookie. I love Destiny, but damn this event is buggy as hell.
@@richarda9983 I had mine reset after going into the pale heart for some activities, but I only had to do the first two cookie quests, then it picked up where it left off. I went back into the pale heart last night, but have had no dawning issues after.
I found as a solo, expert lost sectors the best dawning essence. 3:30 - 4 ish min for 20 essence, plus creating mats, and focus a gun for a few of those
50 dawning on trials, would just mean people jumping over the ledge again. When they started giving weapons for playing X games, people jumped over the ledge. I'm pretty sure that people will find a way to lose faster in gambit if you give 50 dawning essence for losing.
If Essence of Dawning was removed, then we would only need cookie ingredients. Then we could play content we wanted to for the ingredients we wanted to make cookies we wanted. Why would that be a bad thing? Simplify the economy.
@@Bestow3000 can't help you there. Maybe events need their own pathfinder board? Each reset gives an event weapon roll with more third and fourth column perks. And depending on the cookie faction you joined that affects which roll you focus. That would increase playtime and get people weapons.
Nailed it dude. Hell, even if there was a lengthy grind quest per weapon that then unlocked a crafting pattern, that would be good as you're then guaranteed to be able to acquire your 5/5. Granted, this would cause a problem where Stay Frosty or whatever would remain the same forever rather than a 2023 version, 2024, 2025 etc, but it's a thought.
@Fallout Plays I disagree a little on your take but not really, I think Bungie should have at this point more than enough resources to refresh events AND give us a killer expansion… Pete Parsons must go
Love You Bro. Happy Holidays. Thank You for all the loot you have given in your video. Love your Fallout videos. More pls And Destiny need some of D1 loot style. Love theOMG I got the ???? what in needed.
I think it'd be interesting if they implemented a time based system for rewards, where you get a certain amount of dawning essence for every minute spent in an activity (up to a limit of course so you can't abuse AFK'ing). The dawning essence would also have to be rewarded when an activity is completed, to prevent other forms of exploitation. This would probably then solve any need to run one boring activity that's quick and easy and instead let the player do whatever they want while still rewarding them for their time, no matter what they do with it in game.
The loot drops per time investment even with the most optimal farm, painful af btw, is still not even that good for a 3 week event to get a 5/5. We really need a rework or like something to let us choose something. And if they were to add more dawning essence it would have to be equal dawning essence like 100 per game or maybe even more bc shattered throne gives 21-22 for 1-2 min so it would have to be 100 to 200 per playlist activity.
Thank you for making this. As someone who loves this game through the good and the bad, people who don't have the time of day, have almost zero chance of getting loot. Especially the weapons/rolls they want. The dungeon farm isn't that readily available for most and yes, it is mind numbing. Just glad you made this video mate. Hoping Bungie heard this.
1. They should increase the amount of essence based off activity difficulty. 2 they SHOULD increase the amount given in general. 3. Make a dedicated activity for weapon and essence drops. 4. Increase the amount of essence gained as the weeks go by.
big agree. In a perfect world the dawning would be incredibly refreshing every year, but that is neither here nor there. If Bungie's resources are truly so stretched thin, I don't want them going to developing content for a 3-week event that comes around every year. I think the event is fine with just some tweaks to material and weapon drop rates so that all activities reward fairly. There will always be a Dul Incaru farm equivalent, but the calculation that it would take 13 hours of Comp to farm what you earned in one hour of DI is abysmal. The severe bugs this year really stung - normally I could be bothered to log on for at least one week, but with all of these bugs running loose, it feels like a headache to try and log on just to pray that a certain bug was fixed. Datto made a good point, that it can strain him too when someone asks about a bug and he has to go back and forth to see if it was fixed or not. QA was hit hard with the two layoffs and I hope everyone at Bungie is able to turn things around in the right way
I wonder why they arent just making holiday events just be: -tie specific weapons/cookies to specific playlists -make cookie drops be related to activity clears and not a enemy drop -add a dawning playlist that gives massive bonus 3 times a day per full clear
I started playing Dragons Dogma 2. I couldn’t deal with how little materials this shit gave out. I just can’t keep doing the mind numbing grind. Taking away craftable season weapons was a mistake and started feeling burnt out last season with the horde mode or the season before last idk when that shit came out but this was the icing on the cake.
I think the main issue of this event is the timing of it. It works when there is new content (like dlc, season) and you passively get dawning essence from playing that new content. People are already done with act II and dawning forces you to replay that same content which you grinded a lot already.
Year after year, ever since I started back whenD1 launched, I’m consistently disappointed the Bungie digs in their heels and adamantly refuses to learn from what other studios and games are doing. The best content Bungie makes is usually a mix of super unique Destiny themes/ideas combined with cool ideas from other games (rougelikes, horde modes, MMO raids, loot fests, etc.) and yet every time they seem to go “huh that worked really well… better not do it again for like 2 years I guess” and MAN it really cheeses my onions. BUNGIE PLZ LET DESTINY BE AWESOME.
I found doing legendary lost sectors a good method to get both essence and materials. Plus a possibility of get an exotic. You can do this with a 3 stack and you finish it less than 2 minutes.
8:33 I agree that adding bonus drop modifiers to game modes would help, but it doesn't help the overlying issue - the dawning weapons are an absolute snoozefest. To be fair, I pretty much have the superior version of every single weapon available at the dawning, but I think the issue with the dawning at this point is that not only are the drop rates for the weapons abysmal, but the weapons themselves aren't worth chasing.
Ok firstly, yes - increase drops of all event currency. Why they insist on making this game unnecessarily grindy in what is supposed to be a fun video game is beyond me. Secondly, I can't take anything you said seriously (even though I agree with all of it) because you don't claim triumphs and clear loot in the postmaster. IMO only pure psychopaths can not be annoyed by flashing triumphs and full postmasters and until this is fixed I must hate you and everything you stand for. Much love x
My issue with the dawning is that it feels like you need to be playing 2 hours a day bare minimum in order to get any of the guns you want. And thats not terrible, but like? Ugh. Gimme a stay frosty after a crucible match. I only play 2 hours total during the week and have to catch up all at once over the weekend. And most of my time is in crucible. Gimme a gun after a match
What i don't understand is with the summer solstice and festival of the lost events we can focus and there's a repeatable activity that drops the event weapons as well. Why can't bungie just come up with a fun dawning activity that also drops the weapons? I get that the cookie thing has been around since the dawnings inception but holy sh!t what a chore and time sink to get practically nothing of value! It doesn't feel good to play for 3-4 hours to only get maybe 6-8 weapon focus attempts and not get a single good perk combination on just one of the 5 or 6 weapons types.
It's funny how destiny as a game came full circle on it's grinding. I have finally freed myself from the grind mentality and looking at it from the outside in, it's crazy how much this game became grind for grindings sake. And that's before we look at the bloated loot pools. Im not a dev so I can't guess why it's like this, but loot doesn't look appealing and the game doesn't reward grinders time,....what's left to play, ya know?
My proposed solution: create a Playlist where you can earn rep like IB or solstice. Instead of presents and baking you earn engrams like IB to focus. Have armor with rep increase and allow vendor resets. Why make an annual event with rotating loot pools so stingy with present drops when turning in cookies
Every one of these limited time events should be like Into the Light, where they're just drowning you in loot. Even grinding Dul Incaru non-stop for three weeks you'd have an extremely difficult time getting the drop you want for all the weapons. Playing the game normally, even for like 12 hours a day, you have no shot.
What your saying makes perfect sense. And that’s why none of it will happen lol I love this game and play it cuz there is no other game like it. But, bungie is taking this fact for granted. One day there will be a PVE-pvp looter shooter other then destiny and that is what it will take for bungie to really care about things like our time
That'll be Destiny Rising. If it comes to consoles, I can see it outdoing D2, or Net Ease will take ideas from Destiny Rising and make their own looter shooter from China. It's probably already in the works.
@@vruxdrossgaming if I’m bungie they better be in development for d3 currently. If an alternative comes out in 2-3 years every destiny player will go to it, including myself. I love this game, but it needs to be better
@5:19 see but the problem is that it wouldn't be towards the future, Bungie has made it clear time and again that all they want right now are shitty, overt cashgrabs, like *spoilers* giving us back Cayde, making him the lynchpin of the marketing then taking him away 4 days later, or directing focus to a crap mobile game nobody asked for while their main game falls into shambles from bugs and underwhelming content they made ridiculous, blatantly untrue promises about.
What if we had the opposite of the streak system in ritual activities? Everytime you complete a different activity, you get a stacking bonus of essence and ingredients. Even if you just pinball between Strikes and Lost Sectors, you can still increase the stack to like 10x.
It should be (at least) one weapon roll per activity completion. Which comes out to about 80 essence. Even then, that pretty much puts it on par with the farm methods we have now.
Totally agree. Grinding has been awful, and the loot has been so disappointing. I am halfway to bailing on doing any more, since apparently Rime+Headstone is weighted out of existence on the pulse rifle. Thanks for the video!
I have not been farming anything. I've just been playing and well...I'm a guy that settles for 3/5 and 4/5 rolls. That being said, the essence you get by playing normally isn't my personal #1 gripe. The problem for me personally is the low drop rate of gifts in return. Got enough dawning spirit cause of the ship and just playing, but no way to use that surplus of resources to focus weapons. Though I do agree, drop rates for essence need to be better for all activities, especially when the Dul Incaru farm is the most optimal way by a LONGSHOT. No other activity comes even close to the effectiveness of that farm. Dawning for me is the best event, not that it's a high bar to clear but yeah. Just playing what you want without actually being forced to do a monotonous activity all the time (FOTL) or just being forced to replay specific content (Guardian Games) to a grind so bad I never actually participated (Solstice). Just need guaranteed gifts of return and more time>reward to fix this event atleast a little.
today destiny 2 had the least amount of concurrent players *ever* recorded on steam for the game at 12,379. this month the average player count was 25k, the second time ever with the first being back in september. i remember the first time it hit below 40k monthly and people were worried about the game dying. not only is that the new norm, but we’re nearing half that number despite almost hitting a new record only 6 months ago. the only thing keeping a lot of people with destiny was the end of the light and darkness saga and now that that’s over a large percent of the player base does not care about the game. i wouldn’t be surprised if we dip below the 20k mark before apollo comes out.
I think they should lower the cost down to 5 dawning essence needed and either increase or equalize the amount gained per activity, it be an easy fix and not punishing.
Wait, The Illuminate hit HD2? Why hasn't the algo alerted me!? Also re: Dawning, I just finished baking all the cookies 1x yesterday but there's no masterwork option for my oven. I was there the first couple days before I'd unlocked all the cookies, but now it's just gone 😂
Nailed everything on the head, I am not the only one who feels the same way. Bungie is loot stingy for the dawning and even outside of dawning with the tonic system. Players need more opportunities for loot.
I got a Rimestealer/Headstone something something roll on Stay frosty my second try. Now that I have finished the entire card, and guilded the title, I'm like, that might be good enough. The mag and barrel just are not that important right now. So, yeah, you pegged my attitude on that roll really well. Over the next week and a half I'll bake cookies when I get the mats so I can try for a better Mistral Lift, but I don't see myself going hard on D2 just for a 5/5 for it to sit in the vault till we have a season where it is put in the meta. I'm sure when they want us to go hard on Linear Fusions again, they will be putting a new shiny one or two out like they always do.
We just got the Halloween event, which, while kind of boring, gave you a lot of loot on completions, additional difficulty if you wanted, the ability to focus with surplus candy, plus exotic class items, even for people who didn’t do Dual Destinies. I don’t want events to be identical, but man, couldn’t they copy their own homework a little bit?
I 100% agree with this video. I farmed for essence for a total of about 3 hours. About 3000 essence and tried rolling a pulse and a glave with a 3/5 roll. Never got them. I'm about done playing the dawning at this point. No point since rng is the worst
Logged on last week. Spent my bright dust pile on dragon armour. Did the intro cookie quest. Did some quick math on how long it would take me to get Essence. Decided that was too much and I didn’t want any of the weapons more than I wanted to play a different game. Logged off, haven’t been on since. Feel like that’s not an unusual experience this year. And I didn’t even have any issues with glitches lol
Started playing Warframe again after switching to Destiny 4-5 years ago. It is so refreshing to build a weapon and be done with it. No breaking down thousands of shitty useless guns desperately hoping for something 2% better than what I already have.
Trials would need more like 100, win or lose, to get people in it. Great point about NOT nerfing those 2 activities as the take away, but we already KNOW that's what they'll do.
Fortunately, I got most of the best rolls of The Dawning's gear in 2022, and have never really needed to upgrade since. I might want a better Stay Frosty or the new LFR, but I already have good weapons in those categories, so I'm not sure I care. So you have a situation where all of the worst developer nightmares have come true at once: The grind is prohibitive for new players, the old players that can do the grind are bored to tears over it, and anybody in-between just can't be assed because the loot isn't really worth the effort for them.
I was positively surprised this year when Solstice & FotL just let you just sit in the event playlist if you wanted to powerfarm the event weapons. Dawning DESPERATELY needs either a playlist that drops the event weapons or dawning weapons need to drop randomly from activity completions/ingredient drops (and if they ever go with activity completions, we go back to square 1). The best method by far though would be to increase essence drops by a large margin. This event just shows everything IMO wrong with D2 loot for the most part, extremely stingy, the best farm method makes you want to dig your eyes out, AND you're time limited to the farm.
Agreed this is definitely a really good solution
That's not a bad idea. A particular person could offer particular weapons. Ex, Tess could only offer stay frosty. So on and so on.

I would also not mind if one of the upgrades purchased from Eva gave a chance for 1-2 essence to drop when you get an ingredient like the ship does for spirit.
Bungie’s system for incentivizing daily play is daily bounties.
Daily Dawning bounties give 2 essence each for things like 50 LFR kills.
Just dismal.
I know, right. How do they have no clue to come up with tasks that are more fun? 50 LFR kills is a flat out ignorant ask. No one wants to play the game that way. No one loves sitting in a lost sector. This bounty actively encourages boredom.

Ex. Take a Nullify pulse rifle from Salvation's Edge:
You could grind for the craftable pattern to pull out of collections/enclave any time you want, but get no enhancability.
OR
You can have world drop with double-enhanced perks that make Incandescent cause double explosions and Heal Clip that heals a full half health.
@@ROFLWAFFLELAWL4 That sounds like an inventory management hell.
Oh man, is this one of those “sit down son” convos? I knew you guys were getting divorced.
At least we'll get two Dawnings now..
No it’s a sit down, honey, we need to talk about our marriage convo
If Bungie put as much time into fixing it's game as it's community does in giving it good feedback we would be in a MUCH better situation right now.
But pete needs his cars 😢
They do, when a bug or interaction benefits the player or makes the game somewhat enjoyable lol.
But small number tweaks to weapon type to make them a bit better like the SMG changes we’ll get? Have to wait an entire Act or Episode that are months away.
Which is fucking ridiculous considering how many other games can manage to pump put patches a couple times a week that balance different things.
I just gave the drifter 50 cookies in a row and I got three guns, two out of the three guns were the same.
Yeah the juice isn't worth the squeeze when it comes to grinding out these event weapons. Focusing cost should be cut in half, or reduced by at least a third. Bungie wants us putting more hours into the game but for me, it just makes me not want to play at all.
This is why crafting needs to become mandatory for all weapons.
They need to increase the amount of packages you get for turning in gifts because if you want the emblems you need a bunch of them for that as well.
@@Alex-ug9wx nearly same pvp.
I dont mind them not being craftable right away. I mind the two "new" activities having the exact same drops. Rather than half @$$ing two things, put the whole effort into one thing and make it worth while to play.
I will say I don't use that many crafted weapons
@@kevina6416 but you _could_ if you wanted. Go get a hyper specific roll of an old seasonal weapon. Because every year old weapons shift into the meta, and without crafting you either have to be lucky enough to have kept that roll around (unlikely, since players don’t possess omniscience), or go back and get it. The latter of which doesn’t work because they get removed…
This Dawning made me realize that the only reason I've enjoyed the Dawning so much the past few years is because it was at the start of the season so I was already playing the game a lot anyways and just passively working on the event.
Or just get rid of dawning essence that way you can just get ingredients and play truly how you want
Then people will just farm shuro chi and have 1,000 cookies easily. They just need to increasecthe essence dropped
Good thing you released this video while there’s still a lot of time left in the Dawning event.
The dawning just needs an event playlist like halloween or guardian games
“Snowball fight!”
but nobody likes those gamemodes. or at least nobody likes the lost sectors. if players got more essence from playing how they'd like, and focusing prices were lower for event weapons, people wouldn't be as annoyed.
@@iponce2well it’s because those game modes are boring, snowball fights or properly cooperative modes would work well for dawning. Event related game modes for crucible and something PVE would help. Perhaps something like infection for Halloween, action sack modes for Guardian Games, etc you get it
PvP allows 6-v-6 snowball fights, while PvE has snowfort Onslaught defense against the darkness.
Would make Dawning so much more exciting!
Regular activities increase 5x more. Increase it significantly more for harder activities
Bungie 6:40 right here. Listen LISTEN. Please listen to what he said
Yes, yes yes. totally agree!
At this point, bungie should double all game rewards.
For example:
Infinite forest in daytime, clear each platform and when you do, it becomes festively themed.
One thing I love about the D2 community is how y'all know each other, which is to say you need to make Datto play PoE2.
This is a long shot, but if they had introduced a playlist dedicated to the dawning similar to the headless ones lost sectors, we could see a bit more retention of players and engagement. This would split the population more towards that activity but could allow players to get their loot from the activity instead of only from space grandma
The most efficient ive found is Legendary lost sectors. 3-5 min each run 16 essence. None of the D2 creators have pointed this farm out!
It's good for solo players or groups that don't want to farm checkpoints, but the ones mentioned in the video can easily get double or triple the amount of runs done in the same time.
Hallelujah! Even worse as a solo player running lost sectors over and over and over and over...
Tbh farming the daily lost sectors are better than checkpoint farming. You get 17-20 essence and only takes 2-4 minutes no switching characters so faster by alot
That’s what I’ve been doing! And you get materials and weapons with double perks
i'm at 1977 power at the moment (returning player) is it possible to do the daily lost sector?
@@zedsemsombradeduvidas266 unfortunately no the legend lost sectors are at a pl of 2030 I'm 2025 and sometimes I still get killed losing a few seconds and more importantly losing one of your limited revives
@@boof_eater thx
Player count is dropping when playlist strikes struggle to have a full fireteam
Thank you for this video I've been playing so much and it's been so difficult to get a decent roll with RNG being so bad for a dawning gun I want
You get weapons bro? I still cant get the event to function properly and it doesn't matter what i do
@@jonathanvogt4341 My buddy I have been running with since week one of D1 has had to redo the opening Zavala cook quest twice this week alone.
@@MrWrighthw I dodged the Bungie bullets this time... so far.
B-But what about inflating artificial playtime numbers?
@@Bestow3000 can't help you there.
Maybe events need their own pathfinder board? Each reset gives an event weapon roll with more third and fourth column perks. And depending on the cookie faction you joined that affects which roll you focus. That would increase playtime and get people weapons.
It's almost sad to watch what's going on with Destiny after I returned to Warframe. It was like switching from night to day.
@Fallout Plays I disagree a little on your take but not really, I think Bungie should have at this point more than enough resources to refresh events AND give us a killer expansion… Pete Parsons must go
My first dawning.... my last too!!
Love You Bro. Happy Holidays. Thank You for all the loot you have given in your video. Love your Fallout videos. More pls And Destiny need some of D1 loot style. Love theOMG I got the ???? what in needed.
Bungie: Ok, ok, I get what this is about. We’ll delete checkpoints.
"due to a bug allowing players to obtain bright dust from reseting a checkpoint we have disabled checkpoints and prismatic titan"
QA was hit hard with the two layoffs and I hope everyone at Bungie is able to turn things around in the right way
Gaming gods decided to stack December with some bangers that for sure.
Do the devs (yes this time the devs not the execs) know a xmas event shouldnt be the biggest fomo timesink of the past years?
I wonder why they arent just making holiday events just be:
-tie specific weapons/cookies to specific playlists
-make cookie drops be related to activity clears and not a enemy drop
-add a dawning playlist that gives massive bonus 3 times a day per full clear
Either cut down on weapon material costs, or drastically make us get a smack nasty amount of materials for playing normally
Fallout speaks for me… I’m dreading having to farm something mindlessly just to get the essence required…
Yep, there is a correlation between how Datto sounds in his intro and the probability of an S-tier video.
50 Games of... enjoyers rise up!
Today's lost sector is a great dawning essence grind if you want to do it solo.
And that’s why none of it will happen lol
I love this game and play it cuz there is no other game like it.
Aaaaaannnnd, that's why I've played PoE 2 on my limited free time instead of hopping on Destiny 2. Gawd, I miss "Forsaken" days.
Destiny obviously still lives in your head if you're still here.
Expect lost sectors will give you 16-19 essence within 3-5 mins depending on builds
It needs a specific event activity like haunted lost sectors, the bonfire, or specific guardian games PvP mode to make loot more likely to drop
It's a real slap in the face turning in 100 cookies just to get 10 gifts in return.
Essence isn’t my issue personally. It’s the 4 thousand ingredient types.
Bungie listen to this man! He is 100000% correct!!!
I’ve been having fun with the Dawning. Expert Lost Sectors are very quick for 17 dawning essence.
What if we had the opposite of the streak system in ritual activities? Everytime you complete a different activity, you get a stacking bonus of essence and ingredients. Even if you just pinball between Strikes and Lost Sectors, you can still increase the stack to like 10x.
Give a 10% chance for a single dawning essence to drop on a combatant kill, 20% on Guardians. Fixed it.
5:55 Too bad there’s not some kind of crafting system in the game.
That would be nice, if they didn't just decide to quit crafting the newer weapons.
Well the problem is people complained about crafting weapons too @Play_In_Traffic
Man, I would love it if they added a daily sign-in bonus. At this rate, what's to lose? More people signing in and maybe playing more? Lol
5:20 This. And only this.
The Dawning is a decent seasonal event, with good loot.
Bungie JUST needs to rip the limiter OFF of Dawning Essence.
It needs a complete revamp since it's been the same thing for 7 years.
I think they should lower the cost down to 5 dawning essence needed and either increase or equalize the amount gained per activity, it be an easy fix and not punishing.
OR, hear me out, REDUCE The cookies essence requierement in half, 5 essence with a MW oven.
TLDR: i grow my brightdust STUNKs during dawning
Wait, The Illuminate hit HD2? Why hasn't the algo alerted me!?
Also re: Dawning, I just finished baking all the cookies 1x yesterday but there's no masterwork option for my oven. I was there the first couple days before I'd unlocked all the cookies, but now it's just gone 😂
Amen! Praise the traveler! I agree with your message.
I like the expert and master lost sectors. Takes 3-5 min and you get roughly 20 per run on expert
Gonna be honest, there is no amount they could offer that would even make open the trials or gambit tab of the game.
Crazy concept: players will play if you make it worth their time.
