I'm glad this is being talked about, after season of the haunted they changed the formula and made it harder to get what you want when buying armor from vendors. For example when using a focused ghost shell mod it wouldn't just guarantee a +10 in said stat, but would also lower the chance that you get +10 in any other stats for the pod (resil, recov, mobility are a separate pod from discipline, intellect, and strength.)

I personally find it better to ghost mod focus Resil because it's the most important stat-if you focus a 30 discipline piece but you get a bad top bucket, it's basically instantly a trash piece. Discipline is also cheaper in the armor mods (+10 is 3 energy opposed to +4 for resil), and I personally think Recov isn't that important, even as a warlock main I usually run nothing more than tier 7

But anyway, thanks again!
as was really a good video, you broke things down very well and went in perfect order. somethings are complicated and requires some bit of exp on destiny to follow, but you did a good job
Ah, I remember the days where in Season of the Splicer I believe, where an activity had drops focused on a certain stat like Resilience, and I used the Ghost Mod to get a high Discipline or Intellect stat, having forced spikes.
Xur sometimes gives really good spiked armor stats but, depends on ur class. Xur also has the easiest way of getting exotics which is by farming the Devils Lair Strike which drops the most Strange Coins
You'll know if a source grants high stat armor from focusing if it says "Focusing with a high X stat due to equipped Ghost mod." where X is the mod you have equipped. Iron Banner counts for this, and can also drop high stat armor on match completion. Not the most efficient way to farm armor, but if you're in the playlist anyways for the emblem and have all the weapons you want, it's a good way to spend your leftover engrams.
@@JJroks543 That is false, it says "Focusing with a high X stat due to equipped Ghost mod." at any vendor that sells armor (correct me if im wrong), and almost none of them actually give out consistent high stat armor.
Unless it's changed since, as of season of the splicer, certain exotics also have built-in focusing as well, which can overwrite your ghost mod. For example things like Armamentarium and Getaway Artist have built-in discipline focus, so they will never roll below a 10 discipline stat (This also means they'll never roll over 22 in INT and STR). Not all exotics have this built in, and any that you had drop before Season of the Splicer also wont have this trait either. Just a note for anyone who feels like it's impossible for them to get a specific stat roll on an exotic. However, if you focus a stat in the *opposite* bucket as the exotics focus, it will focus both stats, and can be a good way to really tune a roll to what you want. Note that it seems Rahool focusing can mess with this interaction a bit.
Basically, usually you only want one 100 in the bottom bucket so that should be your ghost mod(almost always discipline and maybe strength on titan). Then on warlock and titan you want the piece to have 2 mobility(the minimum possible). The best way is just to focus seasonal armor, it will help if you at least get some decent artifice armor(best way is warlord ruin master 1st enc) and definitely get an artifice class item
Whenever I put a ghost mod on I get the guaranteed 10 or 12 and that's it. So I usually just look out for spicy stats on the drops that I get since I also need different stat spreads for different builds. I agree with low mobility on titan but warlock, especially dawnblade, can be very good with high mobility... depends on how you want to play it.
@@Bolts3 you jump higher and strafe faster so it has an effect. Like I said, depends on your playstyle if you benefit from it. But I broke quite few ankles pulling a "hunter jump" on my opponent at close range.
@@mythe6669 it only effects your BASE jump not the height of your double jump and only effects your strafe speed walking not flying which is the whole point of dawnblade
As someone who really struggles with verbal instructions, this video has helped me finally understand armor (after 8 years of gameplay) It doesn't matter how often it was explained, it never stuck and I always felt a bit behind. Now I actually know what to farm for, and how to do it. Thank you SO much, you have an instant subscriber.
8:00 I do that naturally & got a good role now finally, just needed certain things to progress a certain way. Also noting, that having weapons that have strength improves that aswell
I appreciate that you made a discord but so much of the convos in it aren't even about destiny anymore. Feels hijacked by people that just want to chatter and get upset when you reel it back to destiny talk.
3:19 I have kept a War mantis (the first exception to the general rule that comes to mind) at 53 stats in the top 3 stats, 6 in the bottom 3. It stands at 45 base recovery - I couldn't bring myself to dismantle it as it is an odd item with a very high stat spike (even for a War mantis). The stat bar ingame on the item maxes out and for some reason the highest number shown for a single stat next to the bar is 42 (DIM shows the correct value which I could verify ingame via the character stat sum).
I had someone tell me that my loadout screams Shadowkeep with the weapons, look and stats and I didn't know if I should be insulted or laugh about it, because the last time I played Destiny 2 before coming back in early june was during Shadowkeep lmao. The guy said "I saw no Resilience and I figured you haven't played in a long time"
When you’re using d2 armor picker, id recommend selecting “assume armor is master worked” it just makes it easier. Also, if he equip armor doesn’t work, you can copy it into dim and paste it there, and then equip the armor pieces into your slots
In my opinion resilience. Strength and discipline are the 3 best to go for in general then recovery as the near impossible forth.. last longer spam abilitys and can recover faster if able
For free to play/beginner players armor related tutorial: OVERALL: play pinnacle activities. Play KF raid u will get ussualy 63, 64, 65 stats (or any other raid). GMs if you have unlocked and have lfg, (but i think you will get more mats than armors but still good for upgrades) play prophecy (bec they updated loot) today i got 67 legendary armor xddd Remember about specific ghost mode stat and the theory of 2 sections of stats: top 3 and bottom 3 (read about the distribution probability) And boii, play the dares of eternity on legend lvl. Btw it was my first free to play source of high stat armor and I finally then got 3x100. I know, i know u want those 67++++ extra artifice armorsss and quadruple stats! Sorry, better armor and time saving engrams focusing is behind paywall 😂 (season of the wish and free battlepass really opened my eyes on that p2w scam) If you got money: If u got money, grasp of avarece is good, but still i recommend Duality/Spire of watcher DLC. Also warlords ruin is op. If you run higher difficulty run you might get aritifced armor. But overall if u just buy battlepass you might get that in one week, and not in 4 months
I've always focused resilience not discipline for all 3 characters due to it costing more in mod points : i have triple 100's on all 3 characters (mob/res/dis on hunter (going to focus for res/dis/strength also for certain builds), res/recov/dis on warlock & res/dis/strength on titan) regardless of build/exotic used. The exotic will make or break a triple 100.
One thing that you didn't mention that is helpful when farming from ritual activities is equipping the Prosperity Ghost mod (as well as the stat armorer mod) so that you have a chance to get double drops at the end. Helps with getting red border weapons too.
I do like the video, but brother, what did the strength builds do to you! Having a 100 str for my hunter has helped me so much! Don't hate on it soooo much lol
This is awesome! Any advice how to farm for exotic rolls? I'm guessing maybe grind solo lost sectors and spam focus rahool with the discipline ghost focus?
And if I want mobility, recovery and resistance, what modifier should I put? Y si quiero movilidad, recuperación y resistencia ¿qué modificador debo poner?
I’m sure this was fantastic for fledgling Guardians, but damn…I already knew this stuff. Still a great video! Not trying to detract from good content. Keep up the good work.
It's worth pointing out that d2 armorpicker will not take the exotic artifice capability into account unless you unlocked the slot on that particular piece of armor. So any loadout suggestion with only a few stat points missing can be pushed over into the next tier by upgrading the exotic armor to arifice.
in the Advanced Settings, Artifice Slots section, turn on the "Assume ever exotic has an artifice slot." setting, if that's how you want it to work. gl on your armor sets :D
@@lil_prvrt6403 from what I find out, buying Final Shape + Annual Pass will allow u to do the quest line and unlock armor focusing. But u won't be able to reclaim the engrams inside the previous episode Season Pass.
There was an addon to your web browser for unlocking previous battlepass rewards so yyou might wanna check if there is any alternatives for echo episodes
so this is a weird question but do you offer these guides in text form? i have a difficult time following strickly from videos especially when trying to look work ingame with the information/
I do like Mobility on a Titan. I wanna go fast. Ive always prioritized it. in D1 It was Mobility and Recovery. Had the mindset of who needs armor when you aren't getting shot.
Which is better at creating loadouts, DIM's Loadout Optimizer or D2 Armor Picker? I used to use D2, but I started using DIM because I was importing my loadouts from D2 anyways. It just eliminated an extra step in the process. Unfortunately, the seasonal armor is paywalled, so F2Ps cannot access them. I don't remember if PoH is behind a paywall.
The system is definitely ready for another rework in some shape or form. It’s unintuitive and detracts all value from any armour drops once we’ve acquired the stats we want on any single gear set beyond collecting ornaments. I personally like this as the build crafting system still lacks the necessary in-game functionality to be considered “fun”, but it’s not healthy for the game going into the future. Hopefully Bungie find a way to improve this experience going forward.
In Pve only stat you need on hunter is resil and discipline focus. Pop all your mods in mobil and have gamblers dodge. Faux 3x 100 without grinding away like a mad man. With prismatic you don't gotta care anyway. It's meta. Use it. Gets a huge regen bump for abilities etc.
Does it matter what the energy level of the armor is in relation to the total stat points when getting a new drop? For example, is a 65 stat total with energy level of 5 worse than a 65 stat total with an energy level of 2?
I think this video is helpful for most players but I would like to suggest that having 100 points in a stat is not nearly as crucial in today's sandbox than it was in the past. Previously the bonuses applied exponentially, so having T10 resilience for example would give you 40% resistance, but having T9 resilience only gave you 32%. Nowadays the bonuses apply much more linearly, so if you can't easily reach 100 in the stats you want, you don't need to stress over it.
Hey I’m a new player, and what you said about failsafe is beyond me. I have been doing some older campaigns, what should I do in order to do the episode stuff/things in the game associated with that? Should I abandon the older stuff and just do current content?
I carry a 10 intellect build on every character for Mayhem. I also use exotics that refund super energy in Mayhem like Shards of Galanor and Skull of Dire Ahamkara.
If I'm trying to get Warlock armor and don't have anything should I still use a Discipline mod and hope the other stats are good or start with a Recovery mod?
Unfortunately I still see a lot of guardians with poopy stats, yet last time POH was in rotation I found it extremely difficult to find a fireteam willing to farm for longer than 15-20mins (which is a huge waste of time trying to keep up with adding people in order to keep farming). Compared to last year so many people were down to farm POH I wonder what changed. I was able to farm with my 2 buds for 3hrs though and got a lot of good armor, few triple 100, 70's in prismatic on all classes w/o having to waste too many fragments on stat boosters.
Bruh it might not be safe as well, you giving a steam connection but ohnestly its not that deep. If you got that 1000dollars cs skins i woulda consider not using any 3rd party tools.
Increasing energy increases all stats right? He kept showing high stat armor but it had 5 energy compared to low stat which had 1 energy. Shouldnt there be some stat per energy chart???
@@chungusultimateif you’re a warlock you get your class ability back faster depending on your recovery stat. In-fact, you don’t need 100 anything so to speak. You can have whatever stats you want

I’m brand new to D2 so thanks for making videos like this. My brother only played the first expansion so i was getting old info 😂
Welcome aboard!
@@mythe6669 high mobility will have 0 effect on your dawnblade
@@Bolts3 you jump higher and strafe faster so it has an effect. Like I said, depends on your playstyle if you benefit from it. But I broke quite few ankles pulling a "hunter jump" on my opponent at close range.
@@mythe6669 it only effects your BASE jump not the height of your double jump and only effects your strafe speed walking not flying which is the whole point of dawnblade
@@Bolts3 no dawnblade flies all the time on console. I won't speak for pc since I don't play mnk.
Ty
8:00 I do that naturally & got a good role now finally, just needed certain things to progress a certain way. Also noting, that having weapons that have strength improves that aswell
I just finished a 3- over 100 stat build in mobility resilience and discipline for my hunter
0:32 war mantis (hunter gloves) has something to say about that
War mantis is not high stat armor though. But yes I’m aware
Good vid mate cheers I’m. Beta player and I still learnt a couple good tips from
This 🙌
At 8:40 he mentioned a bunch of things to do to farm, does that need the season pass or a expansion and if so which one?
What stats should I focus on with a hunter
I had someone tell me that my loadout screams Shadowkeep with the weapons, look and stats and I didn't know if I should be insulted or laugh about it, because the last time I played Destiny 2 before coming back in early june was during Shadowkeep lmao. The guy said "I saw no Resilience and I figured you haven't played in a long time"
Man, I really wish I had got this video yesterday, when i spent ALL MY ENGRAMS WITHOUT THE GHOST MOD
When you’re using d2 armor picker, id recommend selecting “assume armor is master worked” it just makes it easier.
Also, if he equip armor doesn’t work, you can copy it into dim and paste it there, and then equip the armor pieces into your slots
Thank you! I’ve been playing for a long time and learned a few things.
Great to hear!
In my opinion resilience. Strength and discipline are the 3 best to go for in general then recovery as the near impossible forth.. last longer spam abilitys and can recover faster if able
Any way without the season pass?? Can’t use the episode vendor nor get the engrams without the season pass
For free to play/beginner players armor related tutorial:
OVERALL:
play pinnacle activities.
Play KF raid u will get ussualy 63, 64, 65 stats (or any other raid).
GMs if you have unlocked and have lfg, (but i think you will get more mats than armors but still good for upgrades)
play prophecy (bec they updated loot) today i got 67 legendary armor xddd
Remember about specific ghost mode stat and the theory of 2 sections of stats: top 3 and bottom 3 (read about the distribution probability)
And boii, play the dares of eternity on legend lvl. Btw it was my first free to play source of high stat armor and I finally then got 3x100.
I know, i know u want those 67++++ extra artifice armorsss and quadruple stats!
Sorry, better armor and time saving engrams focusing is behind paywall 😂 (season of the wish and free battlepass really opened my eyes on that p2w scam)
If you got money:
If u got money, grasp of avarece is good, but still i recommend Duality/Spire of watcher DLC.
I'm guessing maybe grind solo lost sectors and spam focus rahool with the discipline ghost focus?
ya the weekly rituals is a super easy source. Covered in more detail in my "farm for everything" video on 2nd channel
And if I want mobility, recovery and resistance, what modifier should I put?
Y si quiero movilidad, recuperación y resistencia ¿qué modificador debo poner?
As a new player thank you. I've been using the Beta DIM for this same thing. What's the thought behind using D2AP over beta DIM?
I hear D2 armor picker or something is the best thing to use for armor and stat support
I’m sure this was fantastic for fledgling Guardians, but damn…I already knew this stuff. Still a great video! Not trying to detract from good content. Keep up the good work.
What is the best Hunter build in Destiny 2 for PvP and PvE?
This is a really good video! I am confused whether the farming method for the armor can be used by people without final shape.
Do checkpoint bots also work on console? Or is that pc only?
any - discord.gg/shadowdestiny
if i just came back during Revenant, I can no longer unlock Failsafe's questline and the focusing right?
i also would like to know
@@lil_prvrt6403 from what I find out, buying Final Shape + Annual Pass will allow u to do the quest line and unlock armor focusing. But u won't be able to reclaim the engrams inside the previous episode Season Pass.
There was an addon to your web browser for unlocking previous battlepass rewards so yyou might wanna check if there is any alternatives for echo episodes
The progress can't be unlocked anymore if you haven't leveled it up, but the locked portion can be claimed if u buy the Final Shape + Annual Pass.
so this is a weird question but do you offer these guides in text form? i have a difficult time following strickly from videos especially when trying to look work ingame with the information/
I do like Mobility on a Titan. I wanna go fast. Ive always prioritized it. in D1 It was Mobility and Recovery. Had the mindset of who needs armor when you aren't getting shot.
I don't know what's up but echo engrams are just barely dropping for me lol. Before I actually started to focus items I had like 90.
What if you dont have the failsafe vendor at helm?
Nvm figured it out
The system is definitely ready for another rework in some shape or form.
Hiii, I’m not exactly a new light but I’ve never done any raids or dungeons. I was looking for someone who could teach me and have a fun time playing
Thanks! Im a new player and this helped me get three level 100 stats! Can you do a similar video for picking weapon rolls?
Does it matter what the energy level of the armor is in relation to the total stat points when getting a new drop?
For example, is a 65 stat total with energy level of 5 worse than a 65 stat total with an energy level of 2?
does randomizing the seasonal engrams not work the same anymore? I've been getting only high 50s from that way
i meant randomizing the armor seasonal engrams
You have to buy armor pieces individually, not the random engram
@@nappuru is there a reason for that? Cuz in season of the wish I just spammed general armor engrams and it worked
@@Mona-.- yeah idk, it worked in seasons before but i blew like 30 engrams on the random one before i figured it out this season lol
Thanks. I didn't even know D2 Armor Picker was a thing.
Np
Incredible video. Off course all this could be avoided if Bungie/Destiny allowed us to move stat points around.
Awesome farming Techeunique ;)
I can’t use fail safes engram but I have the season soooo am I screwed indefinitely?
I carry a 10 intellect build on every character for Mayhem. I also use exotics that refund super energy in Mayhem like Shards of Galanor and Skull of Dire Ahamkara.
Amor picker + DIM + MOBALYTICS just amazing for build crafting
I've been playing for years and I knew none of this stuff. TYVM.
Good work, you made it simple 👌
can you still get the hunter mask with the teeth? fashion game was on point and i might be trying to steal it lol
great explanation - thanks
If I'm trying to get Warlock armor and don't have anything should I still use a Discipline mod and hope the other stats are good or start with a Recovery mod?
Do you have a tips for F2P players to gain higher stat rolled items?
do you have a video on that hunter build its insane
Amazing ! thanks.
with what activity do you get the Techeun Regalia armor to drop ?
techeun regalia was the defiance seasonal armor set, you can get comparable stat armor from the current seasonal vender (failsafe atm)
I'm fairly new but I'm trying to get better at builds but I can't find any advice on what to improve can you help
Does the focusing one work for shaxx? Because I have an insane amount of crucible engrams
The focusing will work but it won’t be high stat, best bet is comp for high stat artifice armour, or trials
Is D2armorpicker safe? How does it work?
Bruh it might not be safe as well, you giving a steam connection but ohnestly its not that deep. If you got that 1000dollars cs skins i woulda consider not using any 3rd party tools.
13:09 what is this? What are you playing here I've never seen it before
I think its the "Warlord's Ruin" raid (or dungeon, idk I don't play endgame activities yet).
Increasing energy increases all stats right? He kept showing high stat armor but it had 5 energy compared to low stat which had 1 energy. Shouldnt there be some stat per energy chart???
Thanks bro I need 100 recovery, resilience, and discipline
Yeah ive always gone for high resil and dicipline armor, then spec into the third one that I want
you dont need 100 recovery
@@chungusultimateif you’re a warlock you get your class ability back faster depending on your recovery stat. In-fact, you don’t need 100 anything so to speak. You can have whatever stats you want
@@chungusultimate
As a newlight i was told to spec more into resilience, than recovery, and not put too much into intellect? I know things have changed abit, i use hunter for now and things are abit different on warlock and Titan.? I.e you spec into different attrabutes.
@@digitaldogs233 sure but with class items in prismatic, only stat that you really need at 100 is resilence
What armorer ghost mod should i use for hunter, warlock and titans?
For hunter i want mobility/res/disc
For warlock i want res/reco/disc
For titan i want res/disc/strength
Should i just slap on discipline armorer or not?
Yes disc, but for titan focus resil
some hunter builds dont need mobility if your using gambelers dodge punch combo for instance
