  • I've had lots of requests for this, but this is going to be one of the most in depth comparisons you'll find on these two bikes, and I've spent a lot of time going deep into things that other reviewers tend to gloss over completely.
    Thanks for watching.
    0:00 - Intro
    1:48 - Background on myself/bikes I've owned
    3:02 - Bikes I've ridden
    3:37 - My riding style
3:57 - I'm making this video to add insight to the differences other reveiewers forgot to talk about
4:45 - I'm not going to be talking about reliability and I'm not sponsored by anyone
5:51 - What I think the 3 main differences of these bikes are
6:28 - Power and how each bike makes its power
    10:40 - Road Performance
11:38 - Motors and EFI vs Carb
14:47 - How to convert these bikes to jet skis
15:22 - The motors on these bikes are well engineered
15:39 - The DRZ has a slightly more complicated oil check and change process
16:24 - How the bikes feel, how they carry their weight
17:21 - Using an overstatement to help you understand the difference in how these bikes feel
17:53 - So, in regards to how the bikes carry their weight, which one should you buy?
    18:35 - Chassis and Suspension
    19:34 - Ergonomics
20:52 - Suspension and valving differences
22:58 - Things I love and hate about both bikes
24:48 - Conclusion, and disclaimer, my choice does NOT reflects the masses, both are GREAT bikes

The best comparison between these two bikes to be found on the interweb. Period.

I LOVE how the Drz can drift so easily!! Just a slight flick....so addicting. It's definitely Tall and Goofy at crawling speeds....and takes a bit of fine tuning your balance for extremely slow technical stuff(or just drag your boots down to guide the bike)....but jumping logs and obstacles is Super easy!.....the torque just gets you Out of some many sketchy situations....and there's not too much clutch work as you grow into the bike. I actually started to think I made a mistake buying this bike, coming from Street Motorcycles, this is my first Dirt bike.....but after 2 weeks of riding, I'm loving the Drz more and more, the torque really takes some adjusting(coming from High revving stuff), but the ability to break the rear tire loose in a Hair second, is SO fun.

You sum up why I decided to buy a DRZ400E. That fcr39 carburetor just sweetens the deal.

Thanks for the video! I recommend to everyone who is faced with the choice of which motorcycle to choose. I own a DRZ400S myself and plan to change to a WR250R. Only because the gearbox in the DRZ400S (the first gear is too long and the fifth gear is too short) and with such a long first gear the sharp strong motor makes the DRZ400S often unsafe in technical situations

Another great and highly detailed video! Thanks for telling us you’re WR250R bar, riser, cables, throttle flip over maneuver and foot pegs you’re using. I’m guessing I’ll do the same thing with my bars, risers and cables. Thanks again for all that you do!

This was the best comparison video I have ever viewed. I have owned 2 drz 400s and I have tested ridden and almost purchased a low mileage wr250r. This video provides the best information about the wr250r I've ever seen on UA-cam. It makes me want to get a wr250r. Please keep up the great work!

Im struggling a lot with my 08 WR in tight single track technical trails. Holding balance is tricky and when it starts to tip over, recovery is close to impossible.
All this time I thought it just had to do with its sheer weight…. But after watching this video, I’m also having an “ah ha” moment. I ordered a 13/50 sprocket setup from Rocky Mountain. Hoping this can help out more and not require me to slip the clutch as much. To be continued.zz

As a guy who is also 6'7" and about 280, I really appreciate this video. I've had a bunch of street bikes and only a few dirt bikes (KTM 450 SXF, CR250, etc) and never felt like I fit well on a dirt bike. The closest to fitting well on a bike thats good off road is my current KTM 950 adventure. I guess I need to try out a WR250. Where in the country do you ride? Looks like a lot of fun.

I’m in the Midwest, and when modded, yeah it’s pretty comfy! Just rode some single track with it yesterday! The DRZ is pretty good when modded out too!

Thanks for the reply. I'm in the midwest, too. We ride atvs and sxs up in Mountain, WI and have been checking out some trails in MI too. One of these days I'll find a WR250 to throw a leg over. My cousin has a DRZ, but I've never ridden it. I've got some work to do.

Hi I own a wr250r and i agree great dual sport bike and you can get a big bore kit for the wr250r is fitting a big bore kit to the 250r worth the money and needed you think

    • @OgreMoto
      @OgreMoto  2 роки тому +1

I’d only get a big bore kit if the top end goes on your WR. If you want more power just buy a DRZ or something else.
