    Finally got a wr250r after owning a 2007 cbr600rr for the last 3 years and gotta say I’ve had more fun on the WR in the past month than the 3 years of my cbr.

    Love the video, and love my WR! Could you do a full walk around of your bike showing all the mods and trinkets you've added? I'm especially interested in the RSC lever and lighting you've got. Thank you!

    I bought mine second hand and when the chain and sprockets wore out I put a bigger counter shaft sprocket on (to guard against swingarm wear and a larger rear sprocket to compensate and lower the gearing a tad. Good video guys, appreciate your work.

    I bought a Tenere 700 last month. I love it for what it is but if I could only keep one, it would be the WR. Mostly because its 150 lbs lighter.

    I purchased the wr as my first bike a year ago, I have put 4,000 miles on it and I love it! The rear shock rebound and the seat are two cons for the bike. I’m at the point after a year it’s tempting to look at getting something with more power but then you look at wr’s that have had the big bore kit and professional tuning and getting 34hp at the wheel vs 27 stock at the wheel, that might be all that I would need for a little extra power and keep the longevity and service intervals and everything else that’s great about this bike. Mine has the Q4 and power bomb and fmf tuner currently. The suspension and seat can be fixed for a little $$ and then it would be sweeet!

      The service intervals reduce greatly with the big bore kit. The rear shock definitely needs revalving.

    I wouldn't let the height be the determining factor for anyone considering. I'm 5'5 rocking aWR250r with knobbies that bump it up an inch or so. There's not really any dualsport that you're going to be flat footing so get used to sliding your self to one side.
    I also had the issue where the bike just wouldn't start one day. Thought it was the fuel pump, but it wasn't. Chased all the wires to make sure they weren't loose and it just kind of sorted itself

      I can flat foot the himalayan, xt225, and xt250. Riding a bike that fits you is a huge confidence booster for some.

    This was only sold in the UK for about three years so pretty scarce 13k on mine stock motor just removed the cat...I changed the fuel pump just be because it's a known fault threw the shock away a few years back it was awful rebuilt the rear linkage and just had the cam chain tensioner start to fail had to replace the chain too..bit disappointing as I have a crf250l.that has done 33k and only needed a clutch so far ...love riding it but just bought a 300l to do some travelling

    • @autismion

      Check that the stator isn't burnt, my 2008 had red/copper looking coils that seemed to have burnt spots. How could you tell if the cam chain is stretched? When I changed my tensioner it was hard to tell if the notches on the cam gears lined up, but it seems to run fine.

    Hey, Love the video! I have a 2012 and am having the same issue you described with your corroded wire. Put in a new fuel pump, new spark plug, checked fuses and nothing seems to be working. I've never really dived into wiring stuff but do you have any advice on what/where to look for when trouble shooting this? The bike has always run great then one day just died out mid ride and wouldn't start back up. Thanks for any help!

    Im thinking about an upgrade to my wr250r and I rode a mates crf450l today with vortex and the engine was great to have more power but couple of things I ddn't like was the seat and very vibrating engine into bike on road very noticeable. Might big bore kit my wr instead

  • @autismion
    @autismion 6 місяців тому

    Not a beginner bike? I started on my WR250R. I think it was too heavy, a CRF230F or DR200 would've been better. Best would be a 125cc trials bike.
    I have the 4.7 gal tank on mine. Side fairings kept breaking, that fixed that, and it protects the radiator. Only con is sitting at the front for cornering, it's a bit wide.

    what tire you use?

    • @80VDualSport
      @80VDualSport  7 місяців тому

      I’ve tried many different setups for tires but my favorite is the Dunlop d606 on the rear and the Pirelli MT21 up front . These are a bit more pricey than others but I have been able to squeeze about 3,000 miles out of them. The grip and reliability is unmatched , so we’ll worth it in my opinion!

    • @dirtbauerphotography

      Kenda 270 or Dunlop 606 work well.

    Love the bike! But I would get a beta 500rrs that’s lighter then that wr 250r has more
    Power and can do the highway a little bit easier!

      @80VDualSport  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for watching and commenting ! we sort of touched on this when comparing it to the bigger more expensive bikes at twice the price. This for me was much more affordable option for the average rider wanting low maintenance and longevity.

    • @whoscook4481
      @whoscook4481 10 місяців тому

      Is the beta the bike you own?

    • @autismion
      @autismion 6 місяців тому

      I have a 390rrs. Way lighter, way more power, way better suspension but oil capacity is lower so oil changes are way more frequent. And at least on the 390 the gears are closer together. Too close imo. And it doesn't seem to compensate for altitude where it flames out, though a new map might fix that. I'm probably gonna cancel the road registration on my 390, I'm running bibs on it, but it is fun on the street though. Still I don't wanna wear it out with road miles. Not looking forward to doing the valves. I'm riding my WR and trials bike more now

    • @jeremypierce1979
      @jeremypierce1979 5 місяців тому

      The beta 390 is not way lighter than the 500 a few pounds less and it’s not faster 500 Has Way more power than a 390 look it up the freeway or I should say roads can also do dirt. That’s what I’m looking for.
