    I am Jewish too and live in Israel. I eat mainly healthy fat, green vegetables and some meat...although I never had weight problems, even now at the age of 53 I am still thin but during my early menopause stages I started feeling akward, had panic attacks and even afraid to drive. When I addressed my family doctor , he had no answer for me and the only thing he told me was that other women had similar complaints. As a result of his response I concluded that I will be my own doctor. I started googling, listening to podcasts like yours and learned a lot. I changed my food choices, exercising, meditating and trying to work less.
    I believe that I deserve , after raising 3 sons including twins, some rest and peace.

    I am Swedish and also very hungry all the time!
    I was pre-diabetic for 10 years. But never overweight. No doctors wanted to test my bloodsugar level. Thought I was hypochondriac. #&$@# Now on sort of ketogenic diet and no longer problem of bloodsugar. Thanks Dr Hyman!

    That’s extremely low. My wife tried this clean keto and was misrasbke for 2 months her cortisol skyrocketed tans she basically became hypothyroid. Is it possible that there are genotype differences which make people do better in different diets. As soon as she changed her macros to 30% fat and way more carbs her cortisol came right back down and the water retention normalized.

    My doctor called me 15 minutes ago to tell me that I am insulin resistant after our consultation yesterday followed by a blood test. I’ve been struggling for about 4 years, I am about to turn 40 in a month. I am so relieved that there is a light at the end of the tunnel 😭

    I would say diet comes first, unless high long term stress is a factor. Then the first thing to do is to eliminate stress immediately then go on an inti-inflammatory diet that includes mostly vegetables. Keep the blood sugar leveled. Definitely do not avoid vitamin b foods including healthy meats.

    (Harry here) You know this is really important because coming into a diet, or any diet for that matter it's really important to make sure you are balancing your Hormones. This is something I NEVER even thought about. Women especially, But I've found over the years that what foods can do to your body is SOOOO important and should be watched closely to make sure you are getting the results you're looking for. Not only on the outside (weight loss, better skin etc) but on the inside as well.

    I work in Internal Medicine and you can’t find a doctor who knows anything about hormones, other than the typical stuff you hear about getting older, etc. Gyne offices don’t even really know about hormones. Where do you go to get truly informed? I’m lucky that I work in a place where I can have almost any blood test run, but who’s going to interpret them? No one. It’s so frustrating!

    What fruits and vegetables work for each pacific area you spoke of with cause and affect? There was no mention of what to eat to get to keep insulin levels within normal intake for 59 year old women? Everything was on 40 and young 50 women.

    • @elizabethtencer7950
      @elizabethtencer7950 Рік тому

      You're right. Besides mentioning to avoid processed foods and healthy otherwise foods spiking glucose like sweet apples chickpeas, beans, sweet potatoes buy its good to eat lots of healthy fats they don't give much details. But it's already known that we should eat variety of veggies, watch starches. Keep the insulin level low. Insulin is increased by sugar which is a metabolic poison btw, starchy vegetables, grains especially flour containing foods. Excess of insulin is causing facial hair growth, thinning hair on your head. This is why diet with lots of healthy fats, no seed oils like soya or canola oils, but avocado, olive, coconut oils is ok. Watch alcohol, for women it's treacherous, increases breast cancer risk significantly.

      Eating a high carb diet inflames the brain, causing people to be more anxious and stressed, in addition to causing weight gain.
      Of course, since you are eating only 10 carbs per day or less (per your previous comment), you should understand this experientially.

    What about women who took health advice too far and lose their menstrual cycle due to Hypothalamic Amenorrhea, I never hear advice for this group and I think there are a lot of women especially who listen to health podcasts who fall into this category. I have been misdiagnosed with lean pcos in the past, and the approach to treat PCOS is actually terrible advice for women with HA.

    • @oksanakaido8437
      @oksanakaido8437 Рік тому

      Yeah, I also have HA and the health/hormone podcasts don't really talk about this. Also so often they'll go on and on about getting off the "refined and processed carbs, sugary drinks, soda etc!!", getting off the SAD diet. I don't eat any of this and never ate a SAD diet on a consistent basis, not everyone grew up like that.
