Every member of that band is a finely tuned machine perfected for around 50 years of playing together. Watching my own kids reaction to it was incredible. I will never forget one evening when I was drinking with my buddies. We lived in a small town where there was not much to do, especially on a week day, so we were literally hanging out in front of a store drinking beer. When we got pretty warmed up my buddy started singing Hallowed be thy name. All three of us sang the whole thing from start to finish, a cappella, with all the guitars and everything. I heard an interview some years back on the radio while driving, and it wasn't until about halfway in that I realised who it was - he was the most eloquent, erudite, amusing, down-to-earth, self-deprecating and humble guy I have ever heard interviewed.
Bruce Dickinson being in the pantheon of metal vocal heroes is an understatement. The man is a founding member and reigning god of the metal vocal pantheon. Even after throat cancer damage. As for Iron Maiden in general, one of the first heavy metal bands, doing this since the late 70s! Unarguably one of the most influential metal bands to ever grace a stage, always putting on a good show, respecting the fans, great lyrical content, display of technical mastery at what they do and some of the loudest and most attended live gigs on the face of this planet. Nice, a version where he really holds that “lowwwww...”. I was 16 when I first heard this, and remember I always lost my breath whenever I’d try to sing along with Bruce in my Chevette. Not the smartest thing for a teenager with a brand new driver’s license to be doing, but Maiden compelled me.
My hero, my role model , my favourite band of all time, this is the best Iron Maiden track, thank you for reacting to this song, you are much fun to watch, genuine and definitely you know about music ♥️
I just love it when people discover Iron Maiden, or do I need to say Experience Maiden? Also when another vocalist hears the power and skills of Bruce, it's amazing!
Check out The Talisman live from En Vivo! It's his best vocal performance. Shows a bit of his lower range and incredible stamina on his high range, at an older age too!
@@gabrielkontogiorgis it his opinion all right. And I think it's one of the most maiden songs theyve done in the last ten years. Great story telling lyrics and rhythm and amazing drive through the song.
Live from that show. Dickinson did not have vocal training he is a natural and has an estimated vocal range of 4.25 octaves. His voice led to the nickname "The Air Raid Siren" Also all of their songs are basically epic stories...
Having seen Iron Maiden live twice, I would say they are this good. Amazing performers! Not only vocals but everything. Dave Murray has one of the most amazing pinky fingers on his left hand, by the way. If you're not a guitarist you wouldn't understand. Trust me, that little finger of his can really move!
I have huge hands, sausage fingers plus arthritis, there are certain things I can't play! I figured out a way with open chords to make it work. It's a little atmospheric. A buddy of mine has the the same kind o' pranks but each finger is half an inch longer and a God on guitar! He literally tabs all ten on the fret board and it sounds golden (we're doing it accustic) but somehow I manage to keep up and give color. Sometimes at 2 o' clock in the morning a magical piece of music has happened!
You picked the best recording of their best song. Yes, you missed out on a great band. This arrangement was the closest to the studio version as I've ever heard. You'll find out the tempo on most of their live songs gets unreal. I.M. has a long string of hit songs. Check out Some of these: Fear of the Dark, Wasted Years, Rime of the Ancient Mariner, The Number of the Beast, are among the beast (Note, early recordings have better vocals than more current ones). Also, check out the stage show too. Eddie lives!! lol.
Maiden definitely overdid it on the touring back in the day after 82. Bruce kinda reinvented himself tho after he left maiden tho. Lole from Balls to Picasso to book of souls, he sounded pretty much the same. Since the cancer his voice had gotten deeper, but we got to give him a break on that one!
Agreed on the vocals on this track being the best.. Older age Bruce is still epic but you can see he has lost a few steps. His voice has held up better than most.
i would argue his vocals oon this show were better than the studio version's , (a rare thing indeed) if i was IM i'd have remixed the studio tape using audio from this concert , for this song.
This and Revelations will always be my favorite Bruce vocals. Along with all the rest! 😂 Please check out more!! And someone mentioned Stargazer by Rainbow with Dio. I second that one.
Ken, your passion for music is a joyous thing. And your musical expertise is appreciated. This was a live as it gets. Great show from a great band. Happy Holidays, sir!
There is almost no crowd atmosphere quite like what it’s like to be a at Maiden gig when they play ‘Fear Of The Dark’. It’s spine tingling to be in a crowd of your fellow Maiden family all howling that together. It’s one of those moments that will stay for you forever. Much like seeing Nightwish play a ‘Ghost Live Score’ the first time. I’ll never forget it.
I got a bit cucked with my debut fotd performance. Some ice addict decided to punch up my area of the pit for half the song. Course bruce told him to get backstage so he could beat thd crap out of him so it was definitely memorable

Hey man I’m loving the reaction. However, just one small critique. When you pause to give your feedback it’d be nice if you rewound the clip by 5 or 10 secs just to make up for any lost momentum of the song. Other than that I loved it! Keep em coming!!!
He has a voice of an angel, his range is mind blowing!!! In real life he is an awesome down to earth guy, no ego at all. His voice gives me goose bumps.

I'm not a vocal coach but I picked this band as my favorite because Bruce sings so clear and the band just rocks.
Me too!!🤣👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
And another maiden fan is born .
Up the irons
One of the best metal vocalists ever!
He can sustain those high notes as well as he can fly a plane high up in the air
You can tell it's one of the hardest to sing because he's actually stood still, what a performance
No! Iron Maiden 100+ songs better than The Talisman
@@gabrielkontogiorgis it his opinion all right. And I think it's one of the most maiden songs theyve done in the last ten years. Great story telling lyrics and rhythm and amazing drive through the song.
@@robinlove6981 Iron Maiden has more than 100 songs better than The Talisman
@@gabrielkontogiorgis For you maybe, for me it's one of my top 5 songs
Your enthusiasm is unparalleled. Thanks for all the videos, they’re always so much fun and informative.
@Noah Sikorski he is 62 years old now.
@Noah Sikorski I saw them last year on the Legacy tour, and he sounded great IMO. He had more trouble on the Slavery tour back in '84, to be honest.
This and Revelations will always be my favorite Bruce vocals. Along with all the rest! 😂
Please check out more!! And someone mentioned Stargazer by Rainbow with Dio. I second that one.
Ken, your passion for music is a joyous thing. And your musical expertise is appreciated.
This was a live as it gets. Great show from a great band.
Happy Holidays, sir!
It's not dubbed over by another version. It's 100% live!
Perfect sound....hard to believe.....amazing
I love vocal coachs reactions at this song, because this is "THE SONG!"
"Aces high".
You HAVE to listen to it. Go there.
Bruce Dickinson literally oozes with talent but is also so much more than a singer/songwriter
This is one of those songs that comes on driving along in my car normally and then at the end I look down and realize I’m going 90.
Really, it is very difficult to watch this masterful presentation of this Maiden classic and not be absurdly impressed ... Hallowed is a jewel✨✨✨
I still love their flawless transitions from every instrument and vocal DURING A LIVE SHOW. Such respect for the craft. True pioneers.
9:35 Iron Maiden has always had impeccable live sound. Each time I've seen them the quality has only improved.
Check Bruce singing "Tears of the Dragon" and "Man of Sorrows".
I had the privilege of seeing them multiple times. My uncle loved them and passed that on to me... they are the true GOATS of all time.
He was then and is now a vocal monster. There is no comparison or substitution for this man or the band. They are tight, especially live!!!
14:55 doesn’t matter if it’s your first or ten-thousandth time hearing Iron Maiden this is everyone’s reaction always
NEXT SONG: Dream of Mirrors - live in Rio! Extremely underrated Maiden song. Bruce’s passion and vocals give me chills every time I watch it.
Cheers
He's not called the "Human Air Raid Siren" for nothing
No bands sound like this these days these guys r young here and they practiced until perfect...phenomenal...ponder that man for a while..
I adore Iron maiden. Bruce Dickinson is phenomenal!!! Talented vocalist, highly intelligent and many other attributes. I totally appreciate your review.
Hey man I’m loving the reaction. However, just one small critique. When you pause to give your feedback it’d be nice if you rewound the clip by 5 or 10 secs just to make up for any lost momentum of the song. Other than that I loved it! Keep em coming!!!
Dickinson is part of the holy trinity for a reason. His vocal range is insane.
Who are the other two? Total noob here.
@@thetalantonx Rob Halford of Judas Priest is the second of the trinity. I don't know who is the third one.
Dio, maybe?
One of the best metal vocalists of all time, one of the best metal bands of all time
He has a voice of an angel, his range is mind blowing!!! In real life he is an awesome down to earth guy, no ego at all. His voice gives me goose bumps.
Great reaction! Love the look of awe on your face. I need to stop taking Maiden for granted. Every time we see them live is beyond amazing.
I think Bruce's finger gesture indicates he thinks this classic metal song's character's soul will be heaven-bound.
