The original NRX Series from G. Loomis contains some of our favorite rods we’ve ever fished. And we’re here to announce that they’ve made them even better in the NRX+ Series. These rods take intel gleaned during the research and design of the original NRX rods and pack a whole new punch to the world of fly fishing. Loomis has included Dynamic Recovery Technology, Mega Modulus+ graphite, and a slew of other technical advancements. We’ve fished these rods and firmly believe they’re better than ever before.

Thanks!
How does it compare to the Sage Sonic in this weight class? Which did you prefer personally.
After years of throwing the original NRX rods, I decided to pick up a 6wt for woolly buggers, muddlers, etc. It’s gonna be interesting to see how these stack up
Let us know what you think
Great review guys. Spot on with my experience with the 6wt model. Question - did you notice the guides are really noisy shooting line? My 6wt really noisy regardless of multiple lines I've tried. Almost sound like a textured line.
Hey, could you give your oppinion on this rods 6wt? Beetles, nymphs with bobbers, streamers..? Should i consider other options or is it a go?
@@CiekursFishing it's a fine rod, but not my go to 6 wt. Scott Centric is my favorite.
@@conradg27245 thanks for the reply🙏
Great review as always!! So, the question: I have the old nrx green (not lp) but I miss my 4wt sage method. The old nrx is a great dry fly rod, but I really miss the method, where I could swap from a dry to a streamer right away. For that kind of fishing, would the nrx + be a good solution?
Yeah, if you like fast-action trout rods, it's as solid an option as any.
Please let everybody know when you give a review of brands of fly rods, let everybody know if the rod is best for dry flies or nymph fishing for lakes and rivers. Since it's not possible to find a fly rod that can be used for a variety of fishing like both dry flies and nymphs fishing for lakes. Also used for summer steelhead fishing.
I want a review of the Hardy HBX.
Which brand of sunglasses you have Maui Jim?
Yup!
What is considered top of the line guides on a fly rod?
recoil guides
Ceracoil titanium
how does this nrx + compare to the scott radian ?
radian better close to medium. nrx better medium to long.
the truth is this rod is not as fast as I expected, here in patagonia where the wind runs 365 days a year, it is important to have a fast rod, but I can tell you that my 5wt sage response is faster than the 5wt gloomis nrx + freshwater , yes, I said my sage response...
I wonder how Frank sawyer or Hugh falkus would think of this. Bullshit , super super super super super excited by this release until what?????.
Hugh Falkus will be amazed at the weight, remember he was using the hexagraph rods. Which are extremely heavy. Don't get me wrong Hexagraph Avon rods are world famous and cost £1,150
I’m looking at buying a 10ft 8 weight... what’s the difference between the nrx & the nrx plus
The NRX+ replaced the discontinued NRX series. The new NRX Freshwater rods are faster, more powerful, with stouter butt sections and greater lifting power. These new NRX+ rods are bordering on ultra-fast action and are more technical than the older NRX series rods.
Trident Fly Fishing thanks for replying to my question
Is there much of a difference in the weight of the rod in the nrx plus compare to previous nrx
@@fergalegan3213 a little lighter in weight and lighter in swing weight.
800 bucks and the first thing you say is it's a cheap spacer. This sport is so out of touch.
