good to know on the tipping. i love dice, like y'all said, for the social aspect. an old guy once taught me "two ways" to sorta bet twice... one for you, one for the dealer... and I do that on the number bets ...wasn't aware that dealer jobs start as min wage. will remember to be a bit more loose with those tips

I love bubble craps and play it just like a regular craps table.
Went out to see the grand canyon on a trip to Vegas many years ago, on the way back we stopped at this place I can't remember the name of. They had quarter craps, and we played for a couple hours. It was an absolute blast. I wish I could find more of that. It was great being able to afford to play some strategies that I usually can't.
Late 80's early 90's we would hit Binion's at 9 AM and be there until midnight throwing dice. Bird game at least until noon, and at the top, a 5 dollar minimum. Enough tables so that you could always find one that was somewhat working...…...Those were the days!

I loved the stadium games, but they are harder to find now than they used to be.

At the parties that we do here, that is exactly one of the barriers that I want to break with my students/guests, the intimidation of the game. Most people are scared to try it out, by the end of our party, usually 3 hours, the players have a full grasp of what everything does on the craps table. I love teaching to beginners, it is gratifying to see the look on their face when say for instance, "This is a place bet, you can specifically "place" money on additional numbers" and they are like, hmm, ok. Give me the 6 and 8. YES! you are now in the game and have a chance of winning! I emphasis tipping and I show how to do it to my players. At the party I had last night there was only 1 person who had played craps before, the other 14 were brand new. By the end of the night they all knew how to play and we had a blast!!!!! btw, color up, you have a few more subs. I direct anyone who is wanting to know more to your channel and I make them pull out their phones and look you up. win-win!

That first story was really interesting. It reminded me of playing at Joker’s Wild. I was so sad to find that they stopped using quarter chips.

Yes, I made a dealer tip bet next to my pass line bet and did odds. I was on a hot roll and won the dealers $20 and they all enjoyed it!

One of the big turnoffs for me on the ETL's are that you don't earn any tier credits at any of the casinos I've been to, especially in Vegas. I do like that I cna get in for $20-$30, but generally prefer the actual tables.
Tipping has always confused me, so this was great info :)

In my early Vegas craps years I bought in $20 at the plaza $2 craps game with friends. Didn't know how to throw or bet right and colored out $400 after a few hours, no rebuy. It was boatloads of fun so I get what Mr Noll means about bird games. To this day I wonder what we would have won had those long rolls happened with our later year strategies.
If you get with a fun crowd throwing dice, it be a lot of fun. But, I agree, there are too many tables that have stakes too high for lots of players. I don't go to LV anymore. I go to Black Hawk, CO, or Wendover, NV, or Kansas Star Mulvane, KS, and if I am in California, I used to enjoy going to Casino Morongo in Cabazon - but it was very slow at my last visit May 2022 - have not had occasion to go back.
2 bits refers to Pieces of Eight, which was a Peso that would be cut into eight bits. So two bits was a quarter Peso. Since the coin was silver, even cutting it into bits, it kept value. But the U.S. has never had a 12 1/2 cent piece. It's just that the saying has been around for a couple hundred years.

He didn't mean the US had a 12.5 cent piece he meant the casino had a chip worth 12.5 cents
in the early 1800's American money was based on the Spanish Pieces of eight, you could actually break off a bit and since there were eight one quarter was two bits so six bits would be three quarters ;)
Great interview. Just one comment on the dice action at the MGM National Harbor in Maryland, just outside of DC: It's high action! Monday through Friday mornings, they have 4 tables open and they are packed at 9am with $15 and $25 Minimums. Then they go up to $25 and $50 by noontime. And it s hard to get on one of those tables!
Is everyone rich there? I know a lot of politicians in that area....
@@ColorUp A few reasons...It would seem there is high cashflow around here being close to DC, it's an MGM property (high minimums), and the locals realy love 'Dice' in this part of Maryland. It's crazy expensive just to play!
@@djcobb74 I was aware that Maryland usually the most expensive in the country...im not familiar with the area, do they also suffer from a lack of competition? A lot of times that is also a factor.
@@ColorUp Yes, I believe that is a factor. Their two nearest competitors are about 25 (Maryland Live) and 50 (The Horseshoe in Baltimore) miles away in heavy traffic. The MGM corners the Washington DC Market very well. Also, they had 3 tables open on a Monday morning at 9am and they were all $25 minimum tables!

This brought back a lot of great memories. I broke in at the Vegas Club (now Circa) over 50 years ago. It was the last sawdust joint (uncarpeted) downtown. The clientele was brutal and was made up of slot cheats (they were permitted to play table games) cabbies, degenerate dealers and other assorted miscreants. They all took shots and we learned a lot. Ron Saccavino (The Dealers News) was one of my running mates and had great hands. As tough as those games were, the toughest were at the Eldorado in Henderson. They had a bird and a dime game simultaneously, but you had to play either or. I didn't work there but I did play there and admit to being a stroker to those unfortunate dealers that had 1 month less experience than I did.

A couple years ago, on my first trip to Vegas, a buddy and me found a $5 craps table on the strip. We were both total wusses, clueless about the game, and decided it was too complicated. Obviously we had yet to ingest the appropriate amount of free, liquid courage.
Now when I go to my local casino, where there are only $15 tables, I often wistfully dream of that magical unicorn I saw that one time in Vegas . . .

I know almost 8 years ago, my friends and I went to vegas for spring break. And excalibur had a learn to play craps, afterwards opened the table for 3 hours for $1 min for the new players before switching to $5. This was during the day of course, but that day taught me to play craps and I still do.
Great video. Would be interested to see what a dealer on the east coast (NJ/MD/PA) would say. Seems like those areas are a little more craps hotbeds as opposed to Vegas.

Second tier properties like RIo, Luxor, Linq, etc.. Should really have $3 or maybe $5 tables.
I like a lot of things about the Linq, stayed there twice, but their tables are almost always $15+. I just don't understand it.
Even downtown now mostly going to $10. a few weeks ago when I was in Vegas, I was blown away The D had $10... Used to be $5...
yeah, weekends even downtown I see 10, but at least weekdays still mostly 5
I wonder if others would be interested to hear stories of streaks at the dice table. How many repeaters in a row? I was at a back to back 6 point Fire Bets. I threw 9 horn bets in a row. Thanks again.

Center strip $10 tables at The Linq y'all. Caesars property so you get Total Rewards.
The only reason I'd want a game where bets were less than $5/main bet, would be if I was losing. I like cutting my bets in half each time I lose, keeps losses to about 2 inside bets. Even starting at 330 inside, you'd want to be able to go down to $22; but below that could be good as well.

Get a practice layout and some cheques. Play on your dining room table with your friends.
I wonder if the Dice master has seen dice setters/rollers that he believes can influence the dice better than the odds? If so how many?

What's better? Press bets (just 6&8) or cover the table (4-10) and with a full table or a few players only? Trying to figure out what's best strategy
There is no best...just depends on what numbers hit, and sadly we don't know until after the dice or hand is over
It also depends on your risk level. Someone like David (and most of the dealers in Vegas) love to implement a Power Press system to try and maximize one hot "hand". I actually utilized David's system in particular, bought in for $1500, played $160 place best all the way across, and pressed them up until they hit 3 times (4 for the 6/8). Was down to my last $200 until I caught the big "hand". Cashed out $3500. There are also Power press strategies for $5 tables as well!
Just bet a bunch in money on the number that rolls next.
Is it worth promoting a card of press amounts and or simple strategies sort of like the blackjack (hit stay) cards we see?

As a don't player when I tip I put a dollar on the pass line. That way at least one of us will win =)
Higher limits tables are because of greed lol ,plus it's hard to do methods on higher limits for the Common Man
How do we chime in and ask questions? If you read this, would love to ask, why do casinos use different color dice on different days?

Can anyone tell me about cruise ship crap tables? What to expect as a min table ect?
I have seen $5 and $10 but they have STRICK rules - no "private rolls, MUST hit back wall or it is a no roll, if you throw dice higher than dealers eyes it is a no roll, they have metal bars in the middle of table which cause dice to bounce.

Would it be okay as a player to remind all the players at the table to tip the dealers? No tipping sends me into a rage.
I guess it depends on your personality. Yes it would be ok, but personally Im not confrontational, i would try and lead by example, others may speak out.
Whoever is currently losing at that table will not appreciate you doing so. Seeing how tipping is normal done when & if you get up/plus some $$. Remember the Dealers get paid a minimum wage set rate hourly. Regardless of how much a player is losing or winning.
