I learned craps on a slow day. Dealer said hey come here. I see you watching let me teach you how to play. I bought in for $40 walked away with $400+ after the roll. Dealer pressed me up every other roll 😮 I never played blackjack again. Craps was too much fun!

I rejected it for years cuz I’m a poker player but when I finally played I’ve won every time out of 20 except 3 Times so I learned to keep playing.
I learned right here at this channel. I knew craps existed but I was a slot player. Didnt care for tables. I saw how much fun the craps players were having, left the casino and spent the next month watching ColorUp. I went back to the casino and used what I learned to start my live craps play. I've never looked back. It's been about a year since I started. I netted $26000 in 4 trips the to casino on the table. 11000 of that from 1 trip alone. It can be a very profitable game but honestly....I love the attention and the feeling you get on a hot roll and the whole table is cheering you on.
iv been Dealing Craps for 32 years..yes in Nevada not anywhere else....and usaully i dont get into these videos..No one really knows much...but i have to say...i enjoyed watching this

@@millersharp5443 crap dealer for ten years here and I’d say that aggressive play yields the best results. Stick to place bets, come bets w/odds and don’t be afraid to switch it up to the darkside from time to time.
If you enjoy gambling, it's really worth it to know the game well. Ties up alot of a lot of loose ends. Plus you'll feel more confident, comfortable ect... When you play live. Look forward to going to Casino Quest

Would love to see a series of videos on how craps dealers collect and pay out bets-the mechanism of it. I’m sure there is a system to it and I’d love to learn more.
Great video. Had an hour long roll here in Arkansas recently, placed for the dealers as I played. I always do this and many times it has paid off for me. Example being I missed a part of my strategy and the dealer caught it with out fail. money well spent as far as im concerned.

Yes alway throw 1-5 dollars up on the place numbers and tell the dealers it’s working for them and have them collectilly push or take the profit . I even throw a buck for odds on my number and then ask where they would like the bet ? Most never throw it in the box they always throw it on the table and gamble with u ? They become much More friendly and even give the dice back 5s up or whatever u like to throw them as .

Most casinos have beginner craps sessions with fake chips that teach you the game. We did an hour long class at the Bellagio years ago and it was fantastic!
I was happy I watch color up to learn the game of craps and was just nervous my first time buying in. But after the first go-around, I was good! But waiting for casino quest just to support David and his stories!! Haha
You should go meet all the CEG guys - Alex, David, Timmy, Discount Conan, etc. They're the exact same people, super chill and super grateful of their YT fans.

That was great! Wish I was younger, I'd love to be a dealer. Sounds like the perfect place to go to school. Sure wish they were there in 94, I could've quit plastering in Vegas and work in the ac. I'm still plastering now in the heat of the south. I feel like I'm too old and body too wore out to be a dealer, but it would be nice.

You can still find $5 at Excalibur during off hours. $10 at Excalibur, Luxor and NY/NY when I was there in May. I also played $10 at Planet Hollywood and Harrah's while I was there too. Caesars and some of the fancier places started at $15.

As a relatively new dealer, I can tell you, it can be very overwhelming at first. I understand the entire game of craps, I know all the odds, payouts, literally everything there is to craps, but tapping into the Table for the first time is so scary and it takes a while before you can be good. Most craps dealers will tell you it’ll take 2-3 years before you become a good dice dealer
Love the interview BTW, planning to rent an hour and warm up on a Casino Quest dice table later this year. I'll be sure to shuffle my odds but with only 3 colors...JK...well, maybe only when I run into crews with crap personalities.

I don’t play CRAPS anymore but I played on a hedging system for a good 2 year I was an break even player as I wanted to stay on the table longer. But was comped on rooms, foods and shows.

This is a great video, tons of information. Not slanted one way or the other just a pro explaining how it all works. Maybe you could get him to do more of these. The system videos are good but can get complicated. This video and part one gave me a lot of stuff to work with. Now I won't look like a complete schnook in a casino and I will ask intelligent questions. Thanks to both of you.

Bird games were fun but useful as well, affording money control in precise units. Until the Pandemic struck, that Joker’s Wild table was unique in all of Las Vegas. Tactics could be tested very inexpensively!
I wish there were more "training" tables. I can't tell you how many times my friends have said they wont play craps with me because they don't understand it.
Facts
Three most important factors: 3) length of the roll(time), 2) how many rolls in that time, 1) WHAT is rolled, ex.-15 8's, or 9's, or 10's for instance in a 40 roll hand versus rolling each # 4x each(including horn #'s)!
Absolutely screwed making points just keep rolling consistent numbers. That you can actually track & bet while avoiding the 7 on Non Comeouts for as long as you possibly can. Which=$$$Profits

I would love to learn to be a craps dealer. As a teacher I wish I could incorporate some of this in my classroom for teaching math (I already teach a bit of craps in terms of understanding probability and odds lol) but let me tell you, you'd learn how to do math in your head pretty damn quick if you could.

All of the dealers I've ever talked to have back problems. And they all say that craps is the worst.

Sometimes, sometimes you can have place to yourself. Best idea is reserve table for you and friends.
Great interview, I know I’m a few years behind this video but I have a question someone here might know. Do the casinos keep roll counts? And if so is there a record? Highest roll ever?
Some do, and provide prizes for certain long rolls. The longest roll is 154, but I believe that was tracked by security footage.
Make sure to teach beginners to TIP while playing craps. It is the hardest game to deal (mentally & physically), but yet the game that makes the least amount of money for the dealers. Especially, if it is not a pull joint, but a go for your own.

I dealt craps for quite a while up in Tahoe. Great interview. I bet Dave and I could swap some interesting stories, like dealing to the wild Hawaiians or past posting on the craps table or even short sticking. I wonder if he's familiar with 'Skinny' Dugan?

Good point on the BJ. tables with angry people that like to criticize others. I would use basic strategy and be scolded for using it. Like hitting a 12 against dealers 2 or 3 or splitting 8s. Craps is so much better because no one can really affect anyone else! Except for the superstitions!!!
Time doesn’t matter on a roll. The amounts of rolls is the deal.
I’ve seen hour long rolls that were only 20 rolls in between 7’s
I’ve seen 15 minute rolls that rolled 40 rolls no 7
It’s the stupid center bets that slow the game.
Ignore the time it’s irrelevant count rolls.
He's talking about 2 separate hour long hands, meaning an hour with no 7, if a table goes an hour without a 7 you're going to be stacking chips dude. The longer a hand goes the more money you are going to win, unless you are the loser on the don't, so time does matter...
I’d definitely like to hear his opinion on Dice Setters vs. Random Rollers. Someone with his experience dealing has to have some good insight.

If you only bet on players who dice set you'll be alright.
I actually ONLY bet on myself. I don’t bet on anyone else, it can make for some boredom but I’ve definitely done really well since I’ve started playing.
Which particular casinos in Vegas does a dice dealer typically start at--tier 1? Something like Casino Royale/Strat, downtown, etc.?
I do know Strat is a starting casino, but can’t confirm others. But downtown is a good guess, and probably off strip.

I’m a dealer in the Midwest w/ 5 yrs experience in BJ/Carnival plus 4 yrs Roulette and 2 yrs as a dual rate Supv and baccarat and in craps class now. What kind of success should I expect if I moved to Vegas?

Craps is toughest game to deal. I remember playing the don’t and getting paid even money laying the odds for 20 minutes before the dealer caught himself. And nobody else including the box man caught either.

Biggest mistake IC dealers make is come bet. I'm on East Coast and no one seems to make come bets anymore. They just place numbers. So after a point is made & the come rollis a 7 they won't take my bet and return my odds and just keep going.

My ex wife told me about those yacht games. Her ex husband's family is rich and in Corpus Christi Texas if you knew the right crowd of wealthy people you could pay I believe a week before and then they'd give you a ticket and date then take you into the gulf of Mexico in international waters and gamble. Those games are real.
You don't need / didn't need to be rich and know the right crowd. The gambling ships used to sell tickets to the public so there was nothing secret about.
I don't know if they still have them though.
"Main Street ..gets lots of Hawaiians do the action can be intense.." ROFLMAO. Yes, we LOVE to gamble but the limits are often lower downtown so that mitigates some of it. Been noticing much more activity on the horn bets on center strip tables which just slows the heck out of the game which would irritate me personally if I had to deal it.
Great stuff, but not sure I would take the word of a dealer in a casino to learn. Many don't know, or will share, how to really win.

Lol exactly why are you even playing if you don't believe in it. I had a $5 40 to 1 prop on 2 aces and midnight. I came out on 8. Set aces rolled 9. Set aces roll. Rolled aces. Set aces rolled aces. Hit aces prop for $200. Placed horn high twelve. Hit 12. $57. Set 12. Going for $200 prop. 43. Seven out. I hit my numbers 3 times in a row. I hit aces prior 2 out of 4 rolls. That's not an accident. I can hit aces 5X more often than you when I'm trying to and setting it. On 360 rolls a random shooters will hit aces an average of 10 times. If I set it I can hit it 50 times in 360 rolls. I only play the aces and midnight prop because you only have to hit it twice. And I'm confident I can roll it consistently. Otherwise I set hardways and i roll more hardways than random shooters. And parlay everything. A lady rolled for an hour and a half setting a flying V which is meant to hit hard 6. Easy 6. Hard 8. Easy 8. In that 90 minutes she rolled like 5 points but hit about 12 6's and 8 8's along with a bunch of other number and craps, yo's. I have seen the difference in dice setting versus not. Dice setters are more consistent. The most points I have seen after 6 months is 10 points by a random shooter. and second most was 8 by a random shooter. But they hit numbers almost immediately. Didn't get to press much at all on place bets. 10 point guy only rolled for 75 minutes. 5 point lady rolling flying rolled for 90 minutes. 8 point guy less than 45. He hit his number within 4 rolls I think 6 of the times. Almost immediate. But dice setters are way more consistent. if you don't believe in dice setting you should watch me shoot or you shouldnt be playing at all. The reason a lot of dice players play is it is the only casino game other than poker you actually get to control the outcome or get to touch the instrument that controls the game. They don't let you soon the ball in roullete or dealbthe cards at table games. But dice you get to play the game and control the object that's why it's so fun. If it was the dealers shooting and you just place bets I would never play it in a million years
I would like to do a practice table and do 360 rolls each. See how many times we hit aces and midnight. And show you the difference. And also my mistakes when I set aces are often good. I set aces hard dice. So some of the mistakes are not mistakes are they flip over and hit 12. Or sometimes it hits ace deuce. Or 2+2. 4 hard which I have covered the hardways. Or 5+5. 10 hard I have covered. Or yo eleven. But he mistakes are why I bet usually horn high aces or horn high midnight because the "mistakes" of ace duece or yo pay. And midnight pays. And if it's hard 4 or hard 10 I have that as well. The bad outcomes are of course 5+2 and 6+1 which are at risk. And then 43 if the dice explode off each other. And off axis. A 43 setting hardways horn dice is the worst. Just like a 61 is the worst when you set hardways dice. It means they went off axis completely opposite ways. Practice setting dice and trying to roll exact numbers. Once you start to roll exactly what you are trying to you will realize that it's a game of skill. There is luck involved but the biggest winners over decades of play are skill based players. The dominator a famous dice player banned from playing because of his dice control says tell the casinos that dice influencing isn't real so he can play again. It is real. He made.millioms before they decided they didn't want his action anymore
Yep! Craps is apparently forever as Dealers. My next-door neighbor ( around David’s age) he’s been dealing dice for 25 yrs. in Atlantic City & says, he’d never want to deal any other game. Such s fun guy! I’ll watch his crazy dog when he’s working & I get to learn dice from another #DiceMaster. Great barter system.

I love playing with the junket Hawaiians. There's no gambling in Hawaii so they save up to hit it hard on the Mainland. They'll fill a whole table with 3 generations of family. And if you can throw a decent hand they'll adopt you. lol
That last part is not a lie, we will adopt you if you roll an hour long hand. We will also tip the shooter if he rolls a good hand, we call it a "balato/barato".

Two questions I ask dealers are: Do they play? and Do the believe in dice control?
Overwhelmingly their answers are no and no.

What is “SR”?
Single Zero Roulette, it drops house edge from 5 something to 2.7% by only have the one zero instead of standard two. Usually only in Europe, but some American tables have them, but lot of times only in High Limit

Amateur blackjack players will think others players affect their outcome. It's not true, it's all circumstantial. Just keep track of the cards and bet based on that. Learn the strategy and play that way without regard to what other players do.

I don’t like it when players place all the numbers and then move to another spot on the table in the middle of a roll on a crowded table. That causes me to pay the wrong player if I miss it.
I can imagine that is frustrating.

Craps lessons are like love lessons - expensive. The Casino Royale once had fun tables now the dealers seem mostly like pricks. Nearly had to bitch slap a bartender there.
Like any service business, you have your good ones and your bad ones.
Seems like CQ has a business model where they could sell franchises all over the world. Same laws, rules and regulations as an arcade business.

I you aren't comfortable at a table you always feel like you are being closely watched ad scrutinized for cheating. That's why I don't feel like being all talkative to the dealers.

Thats interesting, I need to learn more about that method...I always got great grades in math, calculus etc. but I am very slow to process it
Color Up for example you have a $150 6. There are 25, $6 units. You can sit there and figure the 7:6 math. Or the way I teach people is $150 is 6 green chips. So 6 green chips, gets 7 green ships.
This way of thinking is also why you won’t see some newer dealer converting stack of reds into greens, or stakes of greens to black, etc.
Every craps class I’ve seen taught usually has at least 2, if not 3 teachers. There is usually a math person, and a colors/units person. So you can find a way that your brain works best.
