Along with upgrading mig-29upg with newer engine making it's already better thrust to weight ratio even better, an addition of aesa uttam radar, missile approach warning system, newer air to missiles like astra-1/2/3 ,asaram/pyton-5/mica missiles , dual pylon racks, towed decoys like x gaurd systems would make this mig-29upg even more deadlier.
Just like in 1999 kargil war those un-upgraded mig-29 did provide top-cover to precision strike role mirage-2000 against paf-f-16, these double upgraded mig-29upg should be able to do even better provide top cover to our su-30mki(super sukhoi) and rafales. Mind you mig-29 was optimized for air superiority role with upgradation it can do this role even better than before.
Upgrade when ? After retirement? Upgrade of Su haven’t started , dreaming about MIG. We need updated MIG today. Uttam is not yet ready , engine is not yet purchased . It’s the same day dreaming like Jaguar upgrade . LCA mk2 would be ready before these upgrade finalized .
MiG-29 can really fly absurdly high. It even holds the world record of the highest height ever reached by a jet aircraft.

@@northbynortheast5172 ok you're right about that one. I actually mistook MiG-25 for MiG-29. But the original comment still stands as MiG-29 has a higher flight ceiling than any flanker and has actually flown higher than any flanker.
I think IAF is going to repeat the same mistake for not choosing al41 engine for su 30 mki upgrade.
Chinese Flankers are upgraded to fight Indian MiG 29s. And flankers whether Chinese or Indians are much more maneuverable than MiG 29. In within visual fight they are likely to dominate MiG 29s.
throughing MiG 29 against Chinese Flankers are like throughing MiG 21 against F 16. It will be 1:1 kill so its better to pitch bit advance platfrom....... like Rafale.
Modern airwarfare Or for that matter any modern warfare is never against one individual weapon system against another individual weapon systems it is the entire gamut of system which you bring it to the battlefield/theatre.
India has different fighter jets . If used correctly the enemy can't plan a counter against all these different jets . But in long war like Russia Ukraine India is at disadvantage because of supply chain .

Biggest threat are the more than 200 5th generation J20 fighters.
The Chinese Su30/27 and their derivatives have longer range and endurance due to which they can take off from outside Tibet with full complement of weapons and dominate Indian airspace.
Tejas and improved Mig29, cannot take on more than 1000 aircrafts in the same category as Su30mki.
Scrapping the 126 Rafale deal with 36 Rafale deal will hurt India for many years.

What would you do with these obsolete fighter jets now crawling on the ground:
Jaguars (139 aircraft),
MiG-27s (reduced to 2 squadrons, 40 aircraft) and
MiG-21s mostly Bison version (121 aircraft) have issues related to vintage and challenges being faced in the upgrade.

New radar, fly by wire system, digital cockpit, new engines ke sath radar absorbing coated paints, EW ke liye mig 29 s ko upgrade karna chahiye sath hi Su-30 s ko bhi super sukois ko upgrade karna chahiye
Sometime ago, there was a report about issues with the conformal fuel tanks of the UPGs. Was it related only to the excess weight and hence the engine upgrade now? Or something else? Second issue is why not buy the additional airframes as planned earlier is such an upgrade is being planned?
Yes additional mig-29 would support/complement our existing/planned tejas-mark-1a/2 , super sukhoi, rafales etc.
I don't think now IAF has that option. Those frame might be used by Russia as they also need many aircraft for their own war efforts.

Yeah man it can be done by beter fuel pumping in afterbuner section by shifting the main core blade or by Siwtching blade parameter . Or redefinig the mid section to get a beter airflow or the first three blade set. If a engine is able to produce 81 kn it's easy to increase its thrust by small upgrade but after that it will reach maximum of 84 to 85 kn maybe 86 but you never know I am not the most knowledge on jet engine i mostly see trouboshaft Or turboprop

A 5th generation aircraft cannot be used consistently like 4.5 generation aircraft like Mig29, as with stealth and electronics comes with lot of maintaining in 5th gen Aircraft.. making it less available for operation

Su 30mki me naya engine kab lagega, jahna par actual need hai , ohna par kiyu kam nehi hoti. Even tejas mk2 ke liye ye F414 In6 engine le rahe hai jo ki 98 KN ka hai aur aircraft ko under power deta hai. Jabki F414 epe engine with 116 kn already available hai. Does these things done intentionally so that they can get money for new update in future.
The price of epe is almost double then in6.

@@fatmanfrommillennium7369 thrust to weight ratio of tejas mk2 is very low compare to other 4.5 generation aircraft which is 0.87 to 0.9. That's mean the aircraft can't operate efficiently in mountains and can't perform complex maneuver.

Why do u feel that the existing engines will be wasted. They can be used for the Navy's mig 29k fighters. Either wholly or by cannibalising the parts which itself cost a lot. Moreover who said that all the engines will be replaced in one go. As the mig upgrades took so many years to complete, that way the engines upgrades can also take several years by upgrading the oldest ones first. This whole setup for getting the parts from Russia and manufacturing the parts here will take a long time. I think ur making most of ur videos just being biased and not even putting proper thought into it.

Rafale abhi air to air battle tested nahi hai. ye dekhna hoga kay Rafale real air to air combat mey kesa perform kareyga. French fighter jets are always overhyped and performs underwhelming when it comes to air to air combat. just look at the history of mirages in air to air combat. they performed very poorly.

I agree. And the higher altitude of the Ladakh will give Mig 29 advantage is a myth. Google what's the average height of Fighter aircraft flying and height of Ladakh and it will be clear to you.
All Chinese flankers are based on the rassian flanker . All flankers are reversed engineering of rassian flanker and china always show false information and aesa radar is not more capable in high terrain.

@@apoorvchauhan6258 I am not even talking about the max service ceiling. I clearly mentioned the average height they fly during sorties with full weapon load and then compare that with Ladakh height. The only aircrafts struggle at that height are rotorcrafts and propeller based fixed wing aircrafts.
