My most disappointed movies, in my opinion, are Terminator Genisys, Batman V Superman, Iron Man 2, and Fant4stic (Trailers look promising and the cast and crew working on it were talented)

Okay, I've listened to enough of these (so many!) that I'm still wondering what "grab that gem" means.
Also, you hit a lot of my most disappointing movies, but I want to add (5 years later) "Days of Future Past."
It's the LAST movie I allowed myself to get excited over.
"XMen: First Class" was great and we were so excited to see the old cast and the new cast together at Comicon.
Made my spine tingle and then all we got was a superhero SNUFF film and everyone involved lets Wolverine get dumped in a river where Stiffler finds him and they nobody ever follows up.
If you get curious about The Last Airbender, you should ABSOLUTELY watch it with RiffTrax commentary. One of the absolute funniest things I've ever seen.
I really liked kylo's theme in force awakens, it never gets played in its entirety but if you listen to the whole thing it works really well at establishing him as Vader's successor
Listening to you trying to explain Dragon Ball Super/GT was the most painful thing I've listened to on this show. That's saying something

They should have hinted at Brainiac in the first MoS. Jor-El could have said that the Kryptonians were forced to abandon their colonies and return to Krypton. When Zod visited that dead colony where he found the World Engine, they could have revealed that there were three giant circular craters on the planet. They could have had an end credit scene showing Brainiac receiving the signal from the Kryptonian scout ship that allowed Zod to find earth.
Also, George Miller had 3 Oscar nominations and 1 Oscar win before Fury Road. He's a great director and writer.
Quantum Solice, Spider-Man 3, BvS and Suicide Squad, Age of Ultron (still enjoyable but still disappointing)

LOTR's is way too boring to be the best and requires too much knowledge of the books to make any sense and even then it may not. In terms of cohesiveness and feeling like one big story then yeah it's in the top 10 but in terms of actual entertainment value it isn't among the best trilogies, there's probably 15 better ones maybe more.

Of the original (60s Batman) Catwomen, Lee Merriweather and Julie Newmar are both still alive (as of January 2021), though Eartha Kitt died in 2008. Obviously, both Michelle Pfeiffer and Anne Hathaway are still alive, too. I realise this is a 5 year old episode, but felt it needed saying!

I'm usually super disappointed by movie I'm excited about, but, generally, on the second watching, I like them. The amount of disappointment is just a consequence of too high expectations - and it's getting harder not the be hyped for movies in the current age of marketing...
unbreakable: sam Jackson did hav a cloaking device somewhat... in the sense that he managed to hide his identity til the end. he almost wanted to be caught but what i like about his take on superhero movies was so grounded
In GOTG they say that they have body mods and I guess thats what they use to breathe on all the different planets so they probably do the same with the avengers

I've been saying this for like a year to all my friends. It would be so perfect. And even if he doesn't play Nightwing, he'd be an awesome Tim Drake Robin.
Yeah he's a little big. But Nightwing isn't scrawny, that's for sure. I do agree that he would have to lose some of the muscle though.

I actually got Hancock on DVD for Christmas when it came out. I watched it for about 20-30 minutes and loved the whole drunk, shitty superhero. Then I fell asleep and woke up during the storm ending thing and thought it was a different movie

Terminator Salvation is my FAVOURITE sequel to the original 2 for similar yet opposite reasons. I didn't watch it in the cinema or for a year or so after it came out, assuming it would be terrible. Wasn't till my mate said it wasn't bad that I gave it a shot and it wasn't as horrendous as I thought it would be. Because of my fear of it being so bad (as bad as genesys ended up being), it feels better than it probably than is.
If You exclude the first 2 films, i can honestly say it is my favourite Terminator film ever made

I found with the LOTR, The Two Towers is the best book and worst movie adventure and action wise, specially for the hobbits.

Batman v Superman was my most anticipated movie EVER! I remember my hype level for that movie was so big and I wanted it since man of steel. It sucked and I hate zach Snyder now

I'm a pretty big advocate for the Matrix sequels. The second is great until the architect and the third is okay. The direction and story and ideas and concepts were excellent, it just lacked in the film making department. It's like the star wars prequels. Good ideas, bad execution (with glimpses of excellence).

The Star Wars prequels failed because the ideas composing the story’s were BAD. Barely any glimpses of excellence.
Apparently, Death Proof is a film that gets better and you can appreciate more over time because it actually tries to truly replicate what a grind house movie is, while Planet Terror is really a romanticized version of grind house films. Not saying that Planet Terror is bad, in fact it's quite ok, but it's a film that what you feel for it the first time you see it doesn't really get better or worse.
Death Proof is pretty much a true replicant of them sleezy, low-budget, crap grind house, but it has a better quality to it.
Yup it's great background noise and a genuinely entertaining movie
First viewing I preferred Planet Terror. Now as I go and get older, I can enjoy Death Proof more and find the later parts of Planet Terror just a gross out fest that I have to be in the mood to watch (good to slip in a B-horror movie bit with a lot of campy Japanese horror films).

Planet Terror is cheesy, cheap looking, romanticizing cheap 70s B-horror films, and over-the-top. Very Robert Rodriguez.
Death Proof has a lot of talking, lots of homages, lots of effort to come off as legit, and a lot of unexpectedness that comes in when you watch Quentin Tarantino films.

Guypersonmanthing3 Agreed. Now I kinda want to go watch both. I wish it had played better that they'd attempt the gimmick again (other than Machete that kinda rolled off Grindhouse). I still want that "Don't" film that had a spoof trailer to be made. XD
just tried to watch Powers last night, it was amazingly terrible and just so incomprehensible in its incompetence that I was too bewildered to make it past episode 5 I think it was.
