John Carter failed because loads and loads of sci-fi films borrowed from the books, so , when they finally made it, it had all been seen before.
If Antman 3 is about Scott Lang reforming the third Antman Eric O’Grady who could be the villain turned hero by the end. while Scott’s daughter becomes the superhero ‘Stature’.
If I've learned anything from this weeks podcast, it's that I have NOT failed my children because they've seen both Terminator and Terminator 2. I refuse to show them any of the other sequels. Also, they're probably way too young to have seen any of these movies.

Dark Fate was preceded by three very bad Terminator films - I think those have killed any lingering interest there was in this franchise. Dark Fate had to be something really special to repair the damage done by Rise of the Machines, Salvation, and Genisys. I don't think it's the worst of those, but at the same time doesn't really do a lot we've not already seen.

Honestly with Terminator: Dark Fate, I think if they didn't make Grace look dumb with a bowl cut, like if she had hair like Sarah Conner, or even a buzzed head, I think it would have done better. It's like they tried to make her look androgynous, and people couldn't really relate to her. it sounds ridiculous, but I honestly didn't want to see it cause it made me feel like 'who are they making this for'? but upon watching it I really enjoyed it, and I really enjoyed her.
Dark Phoenix would have killed FoX-Men franchise even without X-Men rights going back to Disney due to Fox buyout. Fox had already done DPS poorly with TLS and even with the changed ending it doesn’t seem like they would have gotten the story right the second go. And then of course DP was coming after Apocalypse which no one really loved and everyone seemed to think that it was just more of the same old. Not to mention FoX-Men had relied A LOT on the star power of few actors who were already out or on their way out like Jackman & Lawrence and the Xavier-Magneto back and forth which everyone was getting sick of despite the great performances from Fassbender, McAvoy, Stewart & McKellen. All Disney’s buy out really did to the film was delay it a bit and maybe made them change the ending if they wouldn’t have done it anyway. Fox would have had to reboot again which probably would have been too soon since they just kind of did that (but not really) with FC & DoFP

In whole podcast they haven't mentioned one good movie, and that's a big clue. You can keep a franchise as long as you want when you're making a at lest decent movie. But when you do a crapy movie, what do you expect?
Im not a terminator fan, but i understand who jon connor is and knowing what they do to his character and what it means for the first two films i do think its kinda messed up. Heres the thing though if they had still done exactly what they did but the female characters were all male i still think it would be just as messed up and disrespectful to the films that made this franchise. Its not that the film went “woke”, its what they did to the character that this series is in some ways built around regardless of if the new characters were females or males. People (and yes women are in fact people) should get to see themselves represented on screen with good roles, not just damsels in distress, i don't understand why so many guys get so upset that more female characters are being added to films, there are still plenty of white dudes i can relate to so why should we be upset? Its ridiculous.
Interesting fact about the UK TV License: Just shut the door in the officers face, they're not allowed to do anything because the legality of FORCING people to pay for something they might not use (It's only used to fund the BBC itself.) is so sketchy that the law isn't really on their side. If you answer the door and film them on your phone, most enforcement officers panic and just leave without saying anything as they know it's bullshit and they try to bully and intimidate impressionable folk into buying a license, so they don't like being recorded. Fuck the BBC and fuck the TV license, I have never had one.
They could come back with a warrant. But they never do. They put about this false information that they go around with vans full of technology detecting the signal. Except no-one has ever been taken to court using evidence from one. All they do is cross-reference the list of people with licences with the electoral register and hassle the people on the latter but not on the former. Or they will do common sense stuff like turn up to a property at night and see the light from the TV through the window.
